I RECENTLY PURCHASED A USED 2007 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GT SEDAN. SHORTLY AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE OFF OF THE LOT, I WENT TO TURN ONTO A STREET TRAVELING ROUGHLY FIVE TO SEVEN MILES PER HOUR, AND THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS SENSOR LIGHT BOTH REGISTERED ACROSS THE SYSTEM INFORMATION SCREEN AND NOTED THAT I NEEDED TO SERVICE THE ABS SYSTEM AND TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC WHO SUGGESTED THAT WE START LOOKING ONLINE TO SEE IF THERE WERE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. AFTERLOOKING ONLINE, WE NOTED THAT MULTIPLE OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. MOST OF THE FIXES THAT WE HAVE SEEN THAT OTHERS HAVE TRIED WE HAVE ALSO TRIED, BUT NOTHING SEEMS TO FIX THE ISSUE. NOW THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS SYSTEM LIGHT ARE ON 90 PERCENT OF THE TIME AND IT HAS BECOME AN ISSUE WITH THE BRAKES. AT APPROXIMATELY 12 A.M. THIS MORNING, I TRIED TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THE BRAKES. THERE WAS A GRINDING SOUND COMING FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR, ESPECIALLY WHEN I TRIED TO TURN THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT VERY HARD TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO STOP BY HITTING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT BOTH THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LIGHTS WERE NOT REGISTERING ON THE SCREEN. NOW THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT HAS STARTED TO APPEAR EVERY TIME I START THE CAR. THIS IS THE FIFTH OR SIXTH TIME IN THE LAST MONTH THAT THE BRAKES HAVE NOT RESPONDED. MY MECHANIC AND I ARE BOTH AT OUR WITS END TRYING TO FIGURE THIS ISSUE OUT. IT IS UNSAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AS I NEVER KNOW WHEN THE BRAKES WILL NOT RESPOND. WE ARE LOOKING INTO REPLACING THE ABS MODULE AT THIS POINT AS A VERY LAST RESORT, BUT IT IS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BOTH REAR BRAKE CALIPERS FAILED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CERAMIC PISTON WAS CRACKED FROM OVERHEATING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,200.

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED WITH A PULSATION AND A LOUD GRINDING NOISE AND THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES. THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED BOTH THE FRONT AND REAR ROTORS AND FRONT AND REAR BRAKE PADS ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE FAILURE PERSISTED AFTER EACH REPAIR WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE BRAKES FAILED. THE CONTACT DROVE OVER A CURB. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE PCM, FUSE BLOCK, AND THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS RETRIEVED FROM THE DEALER ON JULY 11, 2008 AND THEN RETURNED TO THEM ON JULY 15, 2008. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHILE THE CONTACT WAS BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, CAUSING HER TO CRASH INTO A MAILBOX. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER AND THEY CANNOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,243 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 34,600.
