TAKATA RECALL: WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS DANGEROUS, AND THAT "IN THE EVENT OF AN INFLATOR RUPTURE, METAL FRAGMENTS COULD PASS THROUGH THE AIRBAG CUSHION MATERIAL, STRIKING THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS, AND RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH." YOU CAN IMAGINE THAT WE TOOK IMMEDIATE ACTION AFTER RECEIVING OUR AIRBAG RECALL NOTICE IN MARCH, 2017, CALLING EVERY DEALER THAT WE COULD FIND, TRYING TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED. NOW WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT TAKATA IS GOING BANKRUPT, LEAVING US IN THE LURCH. I CONTINUE TO CALL DEALERS AND THEY CONTINUE TO TELL ME THAT THERE IS "NO REMEDY" YET. SINCE WE DO NOT HAVE A FLEET OF CARS, WE DEPEND ON USING THIS CAR TO DRIVE. WE FEEL THAT GM AND TAKATA ARE PUTTING OUR FAMILY AT RISK FOR A HORRIBLE OUTCOME. OF COURSE, WE TRY NOT TO USE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BUT SOMETIMES WE HAVE NO CHOICE. PLEASE PLEASE HELP US BY MAKING THIS REPLACEMENT PART AVAILABLE. TAKATA RECALL - I FIRST RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM GM MOTORS IN MARCH 2017 ADVISING THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG WAS BEING RECALLED. I WAS ADVISED THAT I WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN REPLACEMENT PARTS BECAME AVAILABLE BUT STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING. I WENT TO A GM DEALER AUTO REPAIR CENTER BACK IN JULY & THEY ADVISED THERE WASN'T ANYTHING THEY COULD DO SINCE PARTS WEREN'T AVAILABLE. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS IN MY VEHICLE HAVE BEEN DEPLOYED DURING THE COURSE OF THIS YEAR.

GM IS NOT PROVIDING A REMEDY IN A TIMELY MANNER. WE HAVE RECEIVED A NOTICE NOT TO ALLOW FRONT SEAT PASSENGERS, BUT THAT CONSTRAINT IS NOT PRACTICAL.
TAKATA RECALL - HAVE OWNED THIS CAR SINCE 2009 AND WAS NOT AWARE OF THE PROBLEM UNTIL THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR. THERE IS CURRENTLY NO FIX TO THE PROBLEM AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD NOT TO RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I HAVE BEEN RIDING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT SINCE 2009 AND THAT RESPONSE TO THE PROBLEM IS TOTALLY INADEQUATE. IT'S ALMOST A YEAR SINCE THE ORIGINAL NOTIFICATION AND THERE IS STILL NO FIX. SEEMS TO ME "DON'T RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT" IS A EUPHEMISM FOR THEM TRYING TO AVOID LAWSUITS. I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED AN INCIDENT AND HOPEFULLY WILL NOT IN THE FUTURE BUT I AM HOPING THAT THE NHTSA MIGHT SPUR SOMEONE TO COME UP WITH A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM.
I HAVE BEEN CONTACTED ABOUT THE AIRBAG RECALL, BUT THE DEALER SAYS THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS NECESSARY TO DO THE RECALL AND WILL NOT HAVE THEM IN THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE!

TAKATA RECALL AS OF 11/06/2017, MY DEALER REPORTS THERE IS STILL NO RESOLUTION AVAILABLE FOR MY CAR WITH REGARD TO REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS.
TAKATA RECALL: I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE IN MARCH STATING THAT THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL WITH NO PARTS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR MY VEHICLE. IT HAS BEEN EIGHT MONTHS AND THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY. I THINK THIS IS AN UNREASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO ADDRESS THIS SAFETY ISSUE. IN PARTICULAR, I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO USE MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT THIS ENTIRE TIME AND THIS GREATLY IMPEDES MY USE OF THIS VEHICLE.

TAKATA RECALL OUR VEHICLE SEATS 5 AND OUR FAMILY HAS 5 MEMBERS. THE VENDOR HAS INSTRUCTED US TO NOT USE THE SEAT, WHICH MAKES OUR VEHICLE UNUSABLE. THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY DATE OF WHEN WE MAY HAVE USE FOR OUR VEHICLE AND REFUSE ANY REMEDY.

TAKATA RECALL-SAFETY RECALL NOTICE AS OF JANUARTY 2017, PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE (AFTER AT LEAST 12 DEATHS) OCTOBER 3017 WHEN I RECEIVED A NOTICE OF CHAPTER 11 FILINGS BY TAKATA THAT STATED TO CALL MY LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP FOR FREE REPLACEMENT. ALL CALLS MADE TO TK HOLDINGS, AIRBAGRECALL AND THE NTSB JUST KEEP SAYING TO CALL EACH OTHER SO I'M GOING IN CIRCLES WITH RECORDINGS.
TAKATA RECALL: MY CAR HAS BEEN RECALLED SINCE JANUARY 2017 AND THE PONTIAC DEALERSHIP STILL HAS NO PARTS AND/OR REMEDY IN ORDER TO FIX THE RECALL. IT HAS BEEN 9 MONTHS AND THEY STILL ARE UNABLE TO ADDRESS THE RECALL. OBVIOUSLY I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO BE INJURED WHILE IN MY VEHICLE SHOULD THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY! I PUT TODAY'S DATE IN THE BOX AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE (EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T HAVE AN ACCIDENT YET)

MY FOLLOW UP CALLS TO MY DEALER INDICATED THAT PARTS HAD NOT BECOME AVAILABLE. IT IS NOT FEASIBLE FOR ME TO CONTINUE AVOIDING THE USE OF THE PASSENGER SEAT. I PUT MY PASSENGERS AT RISK. THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AS OF 10-24-17. I WOULD LIKE THE MANUFACTURER OF THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS TO PAY FOR A DIFFERENT MANUFACTURER TO REPLACE MY DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS BEFORE THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS ENTIRELY. WE HAVE SO FAR NOT HAD AN INCIDENT, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS BEFORE WE DO.

AS INSTRUCTED BY GENERAL MOTORS, I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE IS STILL NO FIX AVAILABLE FOR THE DANGEROUS AIRBAG. I WAS WARNED IN THE NOTICE NOT TO TRANSPORT ANYONE IN THE FRONT SEAT OF MY CAR UNTIL THE AIRBAG IS REPLACED. THIS IS A GRAVE INCONVENIENCE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY!!! I INQUIRED ABOUT GM TAKING THE CAR BACK AND WAS TOLD THAT WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE. I HAVE BEEN WAITING NOW FOR 2 YEARS. THIS WEEK I GOT ANOTHER NOTICE INFORMING ME THAT THE MANUFACTURE OF THE AIRBAG HAS FILED CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPTCY!!! STILL NO REMEDY AVAILABLE!!! I NEED GM TO REPURCHASE THIS CAR FROM ME. MY AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT LIT UP ON THE DASH CLUSTER. (CONCOMITANTLY, I NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS FOR THE HORN, RADIO AND CRUISE CONTROL ALSO STOPPED WORKING.) RESEARCH SHOWED GM RECALL 14139 FOR FAILURE OF SPIRAL CABLE ASSEMBLY (CONNECTED TO AIRBAG MODULE, HORN, CRUISE CONTROL AND RADIO); HOWEVER, WE WERE TOLD THAT THIS CAR WAS NOT AMONG THE RECALLED VEHICLES. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? THE STEERING WHEEL HAS NOT BEEN PREVIOUSLY REMOVED. ANY PROBLEM WITH THE SPIRAL CABLE WAS INBORN AT THE FACTORY.

STEERING COLUMN RATTLES WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS AND BRAKING. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IT RATTLES AND SHAKES CONTINUALLY.
TAKATA RECALL ALMOST 9 MONTHS AGO, I WAS INFORMED THAT MY CAR'S AIRBAG COULD CAUSE DEATH BY SENDING SHARDS OF METAL AT MY HEAD IN A COLLISION. TO THIS DAY, THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THEY DON'T HAVE ANY REMEDY OUTSIDE OF TELLING ME TO STOP USING MY CAR. SINCE ALMOST 9 MONTHS HAVE PASSED, I FELT THE NEED TO REPORT HERE THAT GMAC IS NOT ACTING FAST ENOUGH. NO ONE CAN AFFORD TO RENT A CAR FOR A YEAR. THIS IS NOT OKAY. EVERY DAY I WORRY ABOUT AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT IS SAFER.

TAKATA RECALL - IT'S BEEN 8 AND A HALF MONTHS SINCE THIS RECALL HAS TAKEN EFFECT. THE RECALL STATES THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL THE AIRBAG HAS BEEN REPLACED. THE AIRBAG HAS STILL NOT BEEN REPLACED AND THE RECALL STATUS STATES "RECALL INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE". THIS IS FAR TOO LONG FOR A POTENTIALLY DEADLY ISSUE TO GO UNRESOLVED AND FAR TOO LONG FOR MY WIFE AND I NOT TO BE ABLE TO SIT NEXT TO EACH OTHER IN OUR CAR. THIS NEEDS FIXED NOW.

TAKATA RECALL - WHY IS IT TAKING GM SO LONG TO FINALIZE WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO GO TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE? WE LEARNED OF THIS RECALL IN JANUARY. WE RECEIVED A NOTICE LAST WEEK TO HAVE REPAIRS MADE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. AFTER CONTACTING GM TWICE AND THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS INFORMED THAT THEIR IS STILL NO SOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE.
TAKATA RECALL - IT HAS NOW BEEN 5 MONTHS SINCE RECEIVING THE RECALL NOTICE (MARCH 2017) AND THERE IS NO ETA AS TO WHEN GM DEALER WILL RECEIVE THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE AIRBAG. THE RECALL STATES "UNTIL THE REPAIR IS PERFORMED, THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT SHOULD NOT BE OCCUPIED." UNDERSTANDABLE FROM A SAFETY POINT OF VIEW, BUT IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE THAT THIS IS STILL ONGOING WITH NO RESOLUTION IN SIGHT. IT IS UNREASONABLE TO EXPECT SOMEONE NOT TO HAVE A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER AND THIS IS CAUSING A HUGE INCONVENIENCE.

TAKATA RECALL, I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM GENERAL MOTORS A COUPLE MONTHS AFTER THE INITIAL RECALL WAS ISSUED BY THE COMPANY. SOON THEREAFTER I CONTACTED THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE REP. WHO TOLD ME A LOCAL DEALERSHIP WOULD CONDUCT A TEMPORARY FIX BY DISCONNECTING THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG, SO IT WOULD NOT GO OFF IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT PERFORM THIS BECAUSE IT WAS A LIABILITY ISSUE FOR THEM. THEREFORE, GM OFFERED ME GRAVELY INACCURATE INFORMATION ABOUT THE "FIX" THAT COULD BE PERFORMED. GM DID NOT OFFER A RENTAL CAR/LOAN CAR FOR AN "UNDISCLOSED REASON TOLD TO THEM BY PONTIAC HUMAN RESOURCES." MY CAR MAY NOT BE COMPLETELY FIXED UNTIL 2023, WHICH I FIND TO BE EXTREMELY RIDICULOUS GIVEN THE SEVERITY OF THE ISSUE.
