TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 RAM 1500. WHILE REVERSING IN A PARKING LOT THE TAILGATE OPENED WITHOUT WARNING. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE DRIVING AT 25 MPH THE TAIL GATE OPENED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BREEDEN DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM LOCATED AT (5900 HIGHWAY 71 S, FORT SMITH, AR 72908 (479) 646-4731) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.
AROUND THE 115,000 MILE MARK THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL STARTED TO MAKE A WEIRD NOISE WHEN I WASN'T ACTIVELY ACCELERATING. WHEN I WAS COASTING I COULD TELL SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE REAR END OF MY VEHICLE. THE TRANSMISSION SHOP I BROUGHT IT TO CONFIRMED THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL BEARINGS HAVE GONE BAD. AT ONLY 115,000 THOUSANDS MILES I THOUGHT THIS WAS A MANUFACTURER ISSUE AND A SAFETY ISSUE. ANYWHERE FROM 10PMH OR FASTER THE GRINDING NOISE CAN BE HEARD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE CONTACT STARTED TO SMELL FUEL FUMES INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THROUGH THE REARVIEW MIRROR, HE ALSO NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE 4WD WARNING INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER, EXITED THE VEHICLE, AND NOTICED SMOKE AND A FUEL LEAK ON THE REAR TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR AXLE AND REAR WHEEL SEAL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,792.
I CAN REMOVE MY KEY FOBE FROM THE IGNITION WHILE VEHICLE IS STILL RUNNING. ALSO VEHICLE WILL SHUT DOWN WHILE IM DRIVING WITH ANY SLIGHT BUMP. I KNOW OTHER DODGES HAVE THIS IGNITION PROBLEM AND ARE ON A RECALK BUT MY TRUCK SEEMS TO BE THE ONE THAT WAS LEFT OUT OF THAT RECALL WHICH DOESNT MAKE SENSE.. ITS A SAFTEY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED ON ALL IMPACTED VEHICLES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL SEIZED AND INDEPENDENTLY SLOWED THE VEHICLE DOWN. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD SAFELY. UPON INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED REAR DIFFERENTIAL FLUID ON THE GROUND AND ON THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V038000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 196,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE DRIVESHAFT DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE AND CAUSED THE REAR TIRE TO STOP SPINNING. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER AN UNKNOWN MANUFACTURER RECALL FOR THE SAME DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 176,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 RAM 1500. AFTER THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BRAKE ROTORS, HE TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD. ALSO, THERE WAS A VIBRATION FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO HIS RESIDENCE AND NOTICED THAT THE DRIVESHAFT WAS DETACHED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DON FRANKLIN SOMERSET CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM NISSAN (LOCATED AT 1147 SOUTH HIGHWAY 27, SUMMERSET, KY 42501, (606) 678-8178) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT ALL THE GEARS AND BEARINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,300.

EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS INFERIOR! HEARING A TICKING SOUND, MUCH LIKE A TAPPET, I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO MORLAN DODGE IN CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO. THEY EXAMINED THE PROBLEM AND SAID IT IS PROBABLY DUE TO THE BOLTS USED, LOOSENING UP OR EVEN BREAKING. FURTHER INSPECTION IS NEEDED. MY TRUCK HAS 54002 MILES ON IT. DEALER IN CAPE GIRARDEAU SAYS IT HAS SEEN THIS PROBLEM BEFORE DUE TO MANIFOLD BOLTS CAUSING LEAKS. 54,000 MILES AND THE BOLTS ARE FAILING?? AND NO RECALLS TO REPLACE THEM??? WHY NOT? THE BOLTS ARE SAID TO BE OF LOW QUALITY ALUMINUM ALLOY. ?? WHY HAVEN'T THE COMPANY ISSUED A RECALL TO REPLACE THESE DEFECTIVE BOLTS???
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 RAM 1500. WHILE THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING, AN ABNORMAL TICKING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM BOTH FRONT WHEELS. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE MANIFOLD STUD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE PASSENGER SIDE MANIFOLD WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER (LILLISTON CHRYSLER DODGE, 1501 N SECOND ST, RTE 47, MILLVILLE, NJ 08332, (856) 825-1937) WAS CONTACTED TO SCHEDULE A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT A SECOND DIAGNOSTIC TEST NEEDED TO BE PERFORMED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,268.
AFTER TAKING THE TRUCK THROUGH AN AUTOMATED CAR WASH THE TRANSFER CASE SHIFT MOTOR ENGAGED PUTTING THE TRANSFER CASE IN 4 LOW. THIS HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT AT LOW SPEED. IF THIS MALFUNCTION HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY IT WOULD LIKELY HAVE CAUSED LOSS OF CONTROL.
"KEY DAMAGE" WORDS COME UP ON THE DASHBOARD AND THE TRUCK WILL NOT START. KEY BATTERIES WERE REPLACED AND THE VEHICLE STILL WANT START.
WHEN I STARTED THE TRUCK MONDAY MORNING AND PUT IT IN DRIVE, IT WENT STRAIGHT INTO FOURTH GEAR. I THOUGHT I HAD ACCIDENTALLY PUT IT IN MANUAL MODE, SO I TURNED IT OFF AND RESTARTED IT. IN THE DRIVE POSITION IT WOULD ONLY OPERATE IN FOURTH GEAR. AFTER A LITTLE RESEARCH I DISCOVERED ITS CALLED LIMP MODE AND IT SEEMS LIKE THE CULPRIT IS THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT SOLENOID, SOMETIMES CALLED THE RANGE SENSOR, PART NUMBER 68353383AB. I HAD TAKEN IT TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT?S WHAT THE CULPRIT WAS, BUT IF I WAS GOING TO REPLACE IT I MIGHT AS WELL REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION...$2800. NOT BEING ABLE TO AFFORD THIS, (NOR DID I THINK IT WAS NEEDED), I CALLED ADVANCED AUTO WHO ORDERED A SOLENOID PACK FOR ME, BUT IT WAS THE WRONG ONE, (4800171AA). THAT?S WHEN I CALLED CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE OFF 295 IN JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA. [XXX] GIVE ME THE CORRECT PART NUMBER, LET ME KNOW THAT IT WAS A SPECIAL ORDER, AND THAT THEY WERE ONLY ALLOWED TO ORDER FIVE A WEEK AND IT WOULD TAKE 5 TO 7 DAYS TO COME IN. I SAID THAT SEEMED ODD AND ASKED IF THERE WAS AN ISSUE. HE SAID LET ME LOOK, AND THAT?S WHEN HE TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE FIXING 640 OF THESE A WEEK NATIONWIDE, BUT THERE WAS NO RECALL. HOW IS THAT SO? I WAS LUCKY IN THAT MY ISSUE HAPPENED IN/ON MY OWN DRIVEWAY/STREET WHERE I COULD BACK UP AND FIGURE OUT A PLAN. BUT I HAVE READ WHERE THIS IS HAPPENING TO PEOPLE AS THEY ARE OUT AND ABOUT WITH NO WARNING. DANGEROUS OR NOT, OVER 33,000 REPAIRS IN A YEARS TIME SEEMS TO BE AT RECALL LEVEL. THE PART FROM DODGE IS $460 PLUS ABOUT 7 GALLONS OF TRANSMISSION FLUID AND A TRANSMISSION KIT, SO OVER $500 AND A HOT MESS IF YOU?RE WILLING TO TACKLE IT YOURSELF. ADD 2-4 HOURS SHOP LABOR AT $60-$100/HR PLUS SHOP SUPPLIES AND MOST OF YOUR DAY OR MULTIPLE DAYS (EITHER WAY) IF YOU'RE NOT WILLING OR ABLE TO MAKE THE REPAIR. DRIVING 25 MPH. REAR DIFFERENTIAL LOCKED UP. DRIVE LINE SEPARATED FROM THE PINION GEAR. VIOLENTLY THROWN INTO THE STEERING COLUMN. THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS BEYOND REPAIR. A REPLACEMENT DIFFENENTIAL HAD TO BE REPLACED. EXPENSIVE REPAIR. CHRYSLER REFUSED TO REIMBURSE FOR THE REPAIR. SAID IT WAS MY FAULT FOR NOT KNOWING ABOUT THE EXISTING RECALL NOTICE. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF ANY SUCH RECALL UNTIL AFTER THE INCIDENT.

THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DRIFT OUT OF THE LANE AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO DRIVE IN A STRAIGHT LINE. CROWN CHRYSLER (511 S. LEE HWY, CLEVELAND, TN) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. DRIVER'S SIDE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CRACKED AND BROKEN STUDS/BOLTS AT HEAD. PASSENGER SIDE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CRACKED AND BROKEN STUDS/BOLTS. BOTH GASKETS LEAKING ALLOWING GAS AND EXHAUST FUMES INTO QUAD CAB. I AM SURE THIS IS NOT HEALTHY. THIS IS 5.7 L HEMI ENGINE V8
TRUCK HAS SHUT OFF AT LOWER SPEEDS WHILE TURNING TWICE IN 30 DAYS. VERY SCARY AND SERIOUS POTENTIAL FOR ACCIDENT. TRUCK HAS 114K MILES
5.7 HEMI ENGINES ARE WEARING CAMS OUT. THE LIFTERS ARE SIEZING UP AND WEARING THE LOBES OFF THE CAM. THE TRUCK LOOSES POWER WHEN DRIVING UNTIL I CAN AFFORD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE. THIS HAPPENING WITH ALL 5.7 ENGINES DODGE KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM BUT OFFERS NO HELP. I AM ON FIXED INCOME ALWAYS TAKEN CARE OF MY TRUCK. I FEEL THAT IF DODGE KNOWS THERE'S A PROBLEM THEY SHOULD HELP OUT .

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILED. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CONTACT FELT A STRONG SHAKE AND A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE ONTO A SAFE AREA AND DISCOVERED THAT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WERE METAL SHAVINGS FOUND IN THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE COMPUTER HEAD UNIT THAT CONTROLLED THE HEATING, RADIO, AND DEFROSTER FAILED. AS A RESULT, THE DEFROSTER DID NOT OPERATE AND THE HEAT ONLY BLEW ONTO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN UNKNOWN CHRYSLER DEALER FOR THE COMPUTER HEAD UNIT. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND ADVISED THAT THE COMPUTER HEAD UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THERE WAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE AND A RECALL WAS NOT ISSUED FOR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,000.
2010 DODGE RAM 1500 W/ GEAR SHIFTER LOCATED ON STEERING COLUMN WAS PARKED IN A DRIVEWAY WHEN THE GEAR SHIFTER POPPED OUT OF GEAR AND BEGAN TO ROLL. AS A RESULT, OWNER OF VEHICLE SUFFERED LEFT ANKLE AND THORACIC FRACTURES REQUIRING HOSPITALIZATION. VEHICLE CAME TO REST AFTER CRASHING INTO A RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING 30 MPH ON A CITY STREET, MY TRUCK TURNED OFF UNEXPECTEDLY AND DISABLED THE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKING MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. I DID NOTATE THE THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT DID COME ON. THIS HAPPENED TO ME AGAIN IN A PARKING GARAGE WHILE I WAS LEAVING, AGAIN DISABLING THE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKING, THOUGH I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH NOT TO HIT ANY CARS WHILE I WAS TURNING. MY IGNITION SWITCH 'WIN' MODULE NOW ACTS UP OCCASIONALLY AND THE TRUCK WILL TURN OVER FOR A SECOND, AND THEN IMMEDIATELY TURN OFF. I BELIEVE THE ROOT CAUSE IS THE WIN MODULE. PLEASE REFERENCE RECALL # 11V139000 AND 10V200000 AS THIS EXACTLY DESCRIBES HOW MY TRUCK WAS IN MOTION AND WAS SHUT OFF DUE TO A WIN MODULE DEFECT.
DRIVING ABOUT 35 MPH AND A WHIRRING STARTED IN THE REAR END. ONLY HAPPENED WHEN I WAS COASTING, NOT WHEN GAS WAS APPLIED OR BRAKES. AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES OF DRIVING AND SEVERAL STOPS THE DRIVE SHAFT FELL OFF. I WAS COASTING DOWN HILL ON A TWO LANE ROAD AS THE NOISE GOT VERY LOUD. FIRST THERE WAS A CLUNK AND OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING WAS DRAGGING UNDERNEATH, WHICH I THOUGHT WAS THE MUFFLER. THERE WAS NO WHERE TO STOP ON THE ROAD SO CONTINUED TO COAST. LESS THAN 5 SECONDS LATER ANOTHER CLUNK AND THEN IT WAS QUIET, PIECE HAD FALLEN OFF. I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO SIDE OF ROAD BUT VEHICLE WAS INOPERABLE. ESTIMATE FROM DEALERSHIP IS TO REPLACE DRIVE SHAFT AND WHOLE REAR END ASSEMBLY, $6200. ONLY EXPLANATION GIVEN WAS THAT A U-JOINT BROKE AND FELL OFF. DRIVE SHAFT FALLING OUT DAMAGED WHOLE REAR END ASSEMBLY.
I WAS INFORMED BY THE CHRYSLER DEALER THAT MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT PASS SAFETY INSPECTION. THE REASON FOR THE FAILURE WAS BECAUSE OF EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS THAT HAVE BROKEN, THEREFORE THE SEAL BETWEEN THE MANIFOLD AND THE ENGINE HAD BEEN COMPROMISED. MY VEHICLE HAS ONLY 60000 MILES ON IT. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH IT IS EVIDENT THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE AND ENGINE COMBINATION. THERE ARE VAST AMOUNTS OF COMPLAINTS CONCERNING THIS EXACT ISSUE AND HOW TO REMEDY THIS DESIGN FLAW. I ATTEMPTED TO REACH OUT TO CHRYSLER SO THEY COULD PERFORM A GOODWILL GESTURE REPAIR. MY ATTEMPT WAS DENIED, WITH NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY. THE ISSUE WITH THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS BREAKING CREATES A SERIOUS SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERN, AND CHRYSLER IS AT FAULT AND NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR USING INFERIOR BOLTS OR IMPROPER ENGINEERING TECHNIQUES. THE EVIDENCE IS CLEAR, AND WHILE COSTLY, CHRYSLER SHOULD BARE THE COST TO MAKE THESE VEHICLES SAFE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
WHEN I START MY 2010 RAM 1500 THERE IS A LOUD TICK COMING FROM THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD, FROM THE BOLTS BREAKING DUE TO THE MATERIAL USED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE OF THE RISK OF EXHAUST FUMES ENTERING THE CAB THROUGH THE VENTS.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT IN MY TRUCK CAME ON IN SEPTEMBER OF 2018. I HAVE HAD IT CHECKED OUT AND THE AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE IS NOT WORKING. I HAVE CONTACTED DODGE ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS TO ORDER THE PART HOWEVER IT HAS BEEN ON AN INDEFINITE BACKORDER FOR THE PAST FEW YEARS. THE LAST TIME I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP WAS THIS PAST TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2021. I ALSO CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER CARE LINE IN JANUARY 2021. I AM AWARE THAT THERE WAS A CIVIL ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THIS PART DATING BACK TO AROUND 2017. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE MY TRUCK DOES NOT HAVE WORKING AIRBAGS. I AM ASKING FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE IN FIXING OR SETTLING THIS ISSUE.

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A 50 MPH FRONTAGE ROAD AND DECELERATING TO TURN ON A SIDE STREET, THE TRUCK STALLED SUDDENLY AT THE APEX OF THE TURN, GAVE A WARNING SOUND AND A MESSAGE FLASHED ON THE DASHBOARD SCREEN STATING "LOW OIL PRESSURE". NO OTHER LIGHTS CAME ON AND NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR CODE WAS STORED IN THE COMPUTER. WHEN THE ENGINE STALLED I LOST POWER BRAKES, POWER STEERING AND (OBVIOUSLY) ENGINE POWER. THE ENGINE RESTARTED EASILY WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN NEUTRAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES, SOME AT THE SAME LOCATION OR LOCATIONS WITH SIMILAR SPEED/DECELERATION/TURNING CONDITIONS. THE DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO RECREATE THE STALL AND THUS UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE CONTACTED THEM 2 TIMES AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THEM ONCE. THEY ONLY OFFERED A SERIES OF PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCES LIKE CLEANING THE INTAKE MANIFOLD.

THE TRUCK BED IS SEPERATING FROM TRUCK CAB . IT SHOWS ABOUT A 2 FOOT GAP.
WHILE IN REVERSE THE TRUCK MAKES A LOUD POPPING SOUND AND IT FEELS LIKE THE BRAKE IS GRABBING THE ROTOR. THE CALIPER WAS CHANGED AND THE ISSUE PERSISTS. I WAS TOLD BY THE LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP IT COULD BE THE DRIVE LINE REAR-END PINION NUT BACKING OFF THE BOLT THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE, EITHER WAY THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. THIS ONLY OCCURS WHEN BACKING UP SLOWLY WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL PRESSED.

A PINION NUT IN THE DRIVETRAIN FAILED DURING NORMAL USE WHILE DRIVING DOWN A HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH, THE MAIN DRIVESHAFT SEPARATED FROM THE TRUCK AND SHEARED HALF OF THE TRANSFER CASE OFF. THE DRIVESHAFT ALSO DESTROYED THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL AND DAMAGED A LARGE ARE OF THE UNDER CARRIAGE. THIS BUT WAS UNDER RECALL AND AN ACCREDITED DEALERSHIP MADE THE INITIAL REPAIR BY REPLACING THE TRANSFER CASE AND DRIVESHAFT. THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS REPAIRED. AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE MADE THE TRUCKS DRIVETRAIN WOULD NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY AND WOULD TRY TO SHIFT ITSELF INTO 4WD INTERMITTENTLY WITHOUT THE TRANSFER CASE SELECTOR BEING MOVED. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO TROUBLESHOOT THE PROBLEM FOR A NUMBER OF WEEKS BUT FINALLY DISCOVERED THE TRANSFER CASE MOTOR WAS BROKEN AND THAT THE INITIAL REPAIR SHOULD HAVE INCLUDED THIS PART AS IT WAS OBVIOUSLY DAMAGED IN THE INCIDENT BUT COULD NOT MAKE THE REPAIR BECAUSE IT WASN'T LISTED ON THE INITIAL REPAIR. FCA REFUSED TO REPLACE THE PART AND WOULD NOT ACCEPT AN APPEAL TO HAVE THE CASE REVIEWED TO INCLUDE THE NEW INFORMATION AS THE AREA MANAGER RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR CLAIM CLOSED IT WITHOUT ALLOWING THE NEW TROUBLESHOOTING RESULTS TO BE CONSIDERED.
THE OIL PAN ON MY 2010 DODGE RAM 1500 IS RUSTED THROUGH SO THE OIL LEAKS OUT ANY TIME THE MOTOR IS RUNNING. I HAVE HAD TO ADD AS MUCH AS 1 QUART OF MOTOR OIL AFTER DRIVING ONLY 50 MILES. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE IF THE OIL ALL DRAINS OUT THEN THE MOTOR WILL SEIZE UP AND THE WHOLE TRUCK BECOMES GARBAGE! IT FEELS LIKE IT WAS MADE OF VERY THIN/CHEAP METAL BECAUSE WHEN I TIGHTEN THE OIL DRAIN PLUG, THE WHOLE END OF THE OIL PAN FLEXES UNDER VERY LITTLE TORQUE.

THE CONTACT ASKED FOR THE INFORMATION IN WRITING SINCE IT WAS NOT LISTED IN THE OWNER'S SERVICE MANUAL. THE TECHNICIAN REPLIED THAT IT WAS PROPRIETARY INFORMATION AND COULD NOT BE MADE PUBLIC. I PURCHASED THIS FROM A DEALER IN MAY, AND THERE IS NOT A RECALL ON THE BOOKS, THAT I CAN SEE, BUT WHEN YOU GO ONTO THE WWW, PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT IT.

TRUCK WILL START, RUN, AND DRIVE. BUT WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING WITH NO WARNING IT WILL DIE, LEAVING YOU WITHOUT POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. PUT IN NEUTRAL AND IT WILL START BACK UP. YOU CAN'T GUESS WHEN IT WILL DIE, OR HOW MANY TRIES IT WILL TAKE TO START AGAIN. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU ARE IN MOTION, TURNING, GOING FAST OR SLOW, OR STATIONARY. THE PROBLEM HAPPENS IN ALL SITUATIONS.
WHEN FUELING THE TANK IT OVERFLOWS EVERYTIME. ONLY OWNED IT A WEEK AND BOUGHT FROM DEALER. THE SALES GUY ALSO MENTIONED GETTING GAS ON HIMSELF WHEN HE FILLED IT BEFORE WE BOUGHT IT. DIDNT KNOW IT WAS A PERMANENT THING! FILLED AT DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS. DOES THE SAME AT EVERY STATION. HAZARDOUS. GETTING GAS ON US. SAW ON LINE THAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE.
