THE REMOTE IGNITION MODULE HAS FAILED AND THERE IS NO START, NO POWER TO IGNITION SWITCH, VEHICLE WILL NOT START THE FOB COMES OUT OF THE IGNITION, WHEN IN THE RUN POSITION, AND SHORTS OUT THE MAIN FUSE PANEL UNDER THE HOOD.
I PARKED MY VEHICLE, TURNED IT OFF WENT INSIDE FOR A FEW MINUTES. CAME OUT STARTED IT UP. WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, I TRIED TO PUT IT IN GEAR (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) WOULD NOT GO IN GEAR THE SHIFTER WOULDN'T MOVE. I TRIED A FEW MORE TIMES AND IT FINALLY WENT INTO GEAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED 2 TIMES ON THE SAME DAY ON 3 DIFFERENT DAYS.
WHEN I TRIED TO START THE TRUCK, NOTHING HAPPENED. THERE WAS NO DASH LIGHTS, COULD NOT EVEN PUT THE TRUCK IN ANOTHER GEAR TO TRY AND MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN. I COULD TURN THE KEY TO ON BUT NOTHING WOULD WORK. WINDOWS, DASH LIGHTS. IT WAS AS IF THERE WAS NO BATTERY. WHEN I WAS GETTING OUT OF THE TRUCK TO CHECK THE BATTERY, ALL THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ON AND EVERYTHING SEEMED TO WORK AND THE TRUCK STARTED RIGHT UP AND DROVE OK. THIS HAPPENED A FEW WEEKS EARLIER SO I REPLACED THE BATTERY BECAUSE IT WAS FIVE YEARS OLD. IT HAD THE SAME EXACT CONDITIONS AS BEFORE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE RAM 1500. WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BOLTS WERE FRACTURED ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
MY VEHICLE HIT A DITCH AND A TREE NEARLY HEAD ON AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH. MY AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY DURING THIS ACCIDENT. I WAS VERY LUCKY NOT TO BE HARMED, BUT THINGS COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE. I FEEL THERE IS A DIRE NEED FOR A REMEDY TO THIS ISSUE. I FEEL UNSAFE EVERY TIME I SIT BEHIND THE WHEEL OF THIS VEHICLE.
REAR AXLE WAS MAKING LOUD NOISES, TURNED OUT I HAD TO REPLACE THE BEARINGS IN THE REAR AXLE. COST ME OVER 1100.00, WAS TOLD ITS VERY STRANGE FOR A TRUCK WITH ONLY 76K MILES TO NEED THIS DONE. I ALSO HAD THE REAR DIFF SERVICED BY A DEALER 6 MONTHS PRIOR WITH NO INDICATION FROM THEM OF ANY ISSUES.
DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED, TRUCK PUT ITSELF INTO 4TH GEAR. PULLED OVER TO TURN OFF ENGINE AND RE-START. TRUCK WOULD NOT SHIFT IN TO "DRIVE". ISSUE PERSISTED UNTIL FOLLOWING DAY. NOW CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND IT MUST BE TAKEN TO A SERVICE CENTER.
ELECTRICAL ISSUES HAVE BEEN PREVALENT SINCE THE DATE OF PURCHASE IN 2013. MUST BE A SHORT IN THE ENTIRE TRUCK SOMEWHERE. MY LIGHTS ON THE PASSENGER MIRROR BLINK ALL THE TIME WHILE RUNNING AND OR OPENING THE DOOR. HUBS/CV AXLES HAVE HAD TO REPLACE BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE 3 TIMES EACH NOW. THIS VEHICLE IN NOT USED AND ABUSED. I TAKE CARE OF IT WITH REGULAR MAINTENANCE. I HAVE HEARD FROM OTHERS WHO OWN SAME YEAR MODEL AND HAVE SEEN ONLINE ON FORUMS OTHERS HAVE HAD THESE ISSUES ALSO. THIS CAUSES THE CV, HUBS, AND ROTORS/BRAKES TO BE REPLACED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY FAILED TO STAY LOCKED IN THE IGNITION WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME MALFUNCTION LISTED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). HOWEVER, THE VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,186.
REAR DRIVE SHAFT CAME OUT CAUSING REAR AXLES TO LOCK PUTTING THE VEHICLE INTO A SLIDE CROSSING ON COMING TRAFFIC.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY FAILED, WHICH CAUSED THE STEERING BEARING ASSEMBLY TO FAIL. THE STEERING ASSEMBLY AND THE FRONT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY WERE REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ENGINE STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING; HOWEVER, THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE A FAILURE CODE FOR THE ENGINE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V529000 (STEERING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,600.
THE HVAC SYSTEM IN THE TRUCK FAILED. AIR WILL NOT FLOW THROUGH THE DASH FACE VENTS OR DEFROST VENTS. BROUGHT TO DEALER FOR REPAIR. DEALER SAID THAT ONE OR TWO "MODE DOOR ACTUATORS NEED TO BE REPLACED" THEY SAID THE DASH BOARD NEEDED TO BE REMOVED AND IT COULD COST SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS. UPON RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM I FOUND THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED FOR THE MODE DOOR ACTUATORS AND TO REPROGRAM THE CONTROL HEAD SOFTWARE (K17). MY TRUCK HAD THE SOFTWARE UPDATE IN 2012. THE DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE THE MODE DOOR ACTUATORS UNDER RECALL BECAUSE THEY SAID THE SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED. I CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ASKED ABOUT THE K17 RECALL. THEY SAID THEY WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR BECAUSE I REFUSED FURTHER DIAGNOSTICS. THE ONLY OTHER DIAGNOSTICS THE DEALER SAID NEEDED TO BE DONE WAS TO REMOVE THE DASHBOARD TO SEE IF IT WAS ONE OR TWO BAD ACTUATORS AND THE COST IN LABOR TO REMOVE THE DASH WOULD BE SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS. THEY KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS THEY JUST DON'T KNOW HOW MANY ACTUATORS ARE DEFECTIVE. THE COST OF THE PARTS IS MINIMAL BUT THE LABOR IS NOT. I FEEL THAT DODGE/CHRYSLER SHOULD MAKE GOOD ON THE RECALL REPAIR AS IT IS A HAZARD NOT BEING ABLE TO CLEAR FROST FROM THE WINDSHIELD DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE PARTS. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,812.
WHILE TRAVELING 40 MPH OR SO, THE REAR AXLE PINION NUT SEPARATED FROM THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CAUSING THE DRIVE SHAFT TO DROP AND THE REAR WHEELS TO SEIZE. I LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE SKIDDING TO A STOP IN THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN AT BILLY BENDER DODGE IN JANUARY TO PERFORM A KNOWN SAFETY RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE, THEY HAD THE TRUCK FOR A WEEK, AND FORGOT TO MAKE THE FIX EVEN THOUGH THE PARTS WERE ORDERED. I HAVE VIDEO OF THE VEHICLE BEING DRAGGED BY THE TOW TRUCK ONTO THE FLAT BED AS THE REAR WHEELS WOULD NOT SPIN. THIS WAS A FRIGHTENING INCIDENT AND THE BLATANT NEGLECT BY THE DEALER HAS ME OUTRAGED. I FEAR THE REAR DIFF AND THE DRIVE SHAFT ARE DESTROYED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED PROMPTLY AND SERIOUS BY THE DEALERSHIPS, AND FORGETTING TO PERFORM THE RECALL AFTER ORDERING PARTS AND SCHEDULING THE VEHICLE TO BE IN THE GARAGE IS AN OUTRAGE. *TR
I HAD JUST GOT OFF THE RAP GETTING ON US1 IN RALEIGH NC A CAR GOT IN FRONT OF ME TO CLOSE. I WAS GOING 55 DUE TO TRAFFIC. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS TO GET SOME DISTANCE BETWEEN MY TRUCK AND THAT CAR. I HEAR A LOUD ROAR AND VIBRATION NEXT THING I KNOW IM SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL. DURING THE CRASH, THE SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUFFERED A CONCUSSION AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.

I HAVE HAD THREE EVENTS OF GAS SPEWING OUT AFTER THE PUMP CLICKS OFF. THE MOST RECENT PROMPTED ME TO TAKE MY TRUCK TO THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE FUEL FILLER TUBE AND VAPOR CANISTER. THE DEALER CLEARLY STATES IN THE RECEIPT FOR THE WORK THAT IF THIS DOESN'T CORRECT THE PROBLEM THE GAS TANK WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED. *TR
SUMMER 2015:EXPERIENE HUMMING NOISES AND TOOK TO GARAGE SAID IT WAS OK TO DRIVE AND BRING BACK NEXT WEEK FOR REPAIRS. WHILE DRIVING SOUNDS GOT WORSE AND WHILE DRIVING THE WHOLE DRIVE SHAFT FELL TO THE GROUND RESULTING IN ALMOST SUDDEN STOP HAD TO BE TOWED TOOK ALMOST 2 WEEKS FOR REPAIRS- NOW SPRING TIME 2016 AND IT GOES BACK IN TOMORROW FOR SAME SOUNDS, AND THE TRACTION CONTROL GRABS WHEN NOT NEEDED AND GIVES NO MOMENTUM TO GO UP A DRY DIRT ROAD HILL.... HUMMING NOISE AND A DIFFERENT SOUND TO BE DETERMINED BY GARAGE TOMORROW 3/9/16 WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO AROUND 5 MPH.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 866-726-4636 AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY; THEREFORE, THEY COULD NOT ASSIST. A CASE NUMBER WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

MY TRUCKS EXHAUST MANIFOLD GASKETS HAVE ALREADY FAILED AT 70,000 MILES, I HAVE A TERRIBLE EXHAUST LEAK AND I KNOW THIS TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN BEAT FOR AN EXHAUST LEAK TO HAPPEN THIS EARLY THERE HAS BEEN MANY ONLY FORMS WITH THE SAME ISSUES SOME WHERE ABLE TO GET IT BY THE DEALER AT NO CHARGE. I WAS DRIVING HOME CHRISTMAS DAY 2014. TRUCK JUST SHUT OFF IN MIDDLE OF ROAD AND CAME TO A REST. I DID MANAGE TO RESTART IT AND WHEN I DID I RECEIVED ALL KINDS OF ERROR LIGHTS. THEN TRUCK SHUT DOWN AGAIN. HAD IT TOWED TO GARAGE AND MECHANIC DETERMINED IT WAS A BAD FUEL PUMP. NOW ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS STAY ON AND WILL NOT RESET. SERV 4WD LIGHT. TRAC CONTROL LIGHT. REVERSE ASSISTANCE SENSORS ARE INOPERATIVE. THE FUEL CAP LIGHT. ABS LIGHT. TWO TPMS LIGHTS. EPS SYSTEM LIGHT. CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK.... AND TRUCK CONSTANTLY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE REPLACED ABS SENSOR AND FUEL CAP BUT TO NO AVAIL. PLEASE HELP. *TR

TWO PASSENGERS SUSTAINED SHOULDER INJURIES, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
EXHAUST MANIFOLDS ARE LEAKING GAS. I CAN SMELL EXHAUST GAS INSIDE THE TRUCK CAUSING DROWSINESS ON LONG RIDES. *TR
THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WENT OUT AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH. I HAD IT INSPECTED AND SUPPOSEDLY FIXED IN APRIL OF 2013 BUT IT DID NOT FIX IT. THE COMPLETE REAR PINION AND WHEEL BEARING GEARS WENT OUT. THE SERVICE PEOPLE AT LITHIA DODGE IN SANTA FE SAID THAT BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN INSPECTED IN APRIL IT WAS OK. NOT THE CASE. ALL OF THESE MODELS NEED TO BE RECALLED FOR A COMPLETE NEW REAR END. LIVES WILL BE LOST IF THIS ISN'T DONE. ALSO, CHRYSLER MUST TAKE FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL REPAIRS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS REAR END EVEN IF IT WAS INSPECTED AND APPROVED TO BE OK. IT ISN'T . OUR 2010 DODGE RAM 1500 RECENTLY DEVELOPED AN EXHAUST MANIFOLD LEAK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. IT MAKES A LOUD RATTLING NOISE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COLD. THE NOISE GOES AWAY ONCE THE VEHICLE HAS WARMED UP. FROM MY ONLINE RESEARCH THIS IS APPARENTLY A PROBLEM WITH DODGE RAMS AND I HAVE FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER OWNERS. I HAVE CONTACTED DODGE BUT SINCE WE ARE OUT OF WARRANTY WE HAVE TO PAY FOR REPAIRS. SINCE THIS IS CLEARLY A PROBLEMS WITH THEIR PARTS AND THEY HAVE HAD REPEATED COMPLAINTS, I'M WONDERING WHY DODGE HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL. *TR
ON 11-8-14, I TOOK A 2010 DODGE RAM 1500 TRUCK IN FOR ENGINE REPAIRS. THE MECHANIC NOTED BOTH FRONT LOWER BALL JOINTS NEEDED REPLACED. A SEARCH FOR THE NEEDED PARTS REVEALED NO REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE FOR AT LEAST 30 TO 60 DAYS. FOUR WEEKS LATER ON 12-5-14, A FLUID LEAK WAS NOTED FROM THE FRONT END. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE RIGHT FRONT AXLE SEAL NEEDED REPLACED IMMEDIATELY, DUE TO A HEAVY LEAK.THE NORMAL REPAIR WOULD INVOLVE REPLACING THE LOWER FRONT BALL JOINT TO ENTER THE AXLE TO GET TO THE SEAL. THIS COULD NOT BE DONE SINCE NO LOWER FRONT BALL JOINTS COULD BE FOUND TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR. THE MECHANIC ACCESSED THE AXLE SEAL BY GOING THRU THE TOP OF THE AXLE. THE SEAL WILL AGAIN HAVE TO BE REPLACED WHEN LOWER BALL JOINTS BECOME AVAILABLE, AT A COST OF AN ADDITIONAL $150. THIS SITUATION PRESENTS A RISK TO THE DRIVER AND MOTORING PUBLIC, SINCE THE NECESSARY PARTS CAN NOT BE SOURCED. IT CREATES A RISK THAT THE LUBRICATING FLUID INSIDE THE AXLE WILL LEAK OUT, WHICH COULD RESULT IN THE AXLE "TYING UP," CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOOSE CONTROL AND CRASH. CHRYSLER WILL NOT, OR CAN NOT MAKE THE NECESSARY PARTS AVAILABLE TO ITS DEALERS OR INDEPENDENT MECHANICS. UPON STARTING VEHICLE I HEARD SOME TYPE OF GEAR GRINDING/KNOCKING, SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS WHEN I TURN THE KEY OFF TOO. TOOK IT INTO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE COMPUTER CHIP AND FIXED IT. TWO DAYS LATER WIFE WAS DRIVING IT AGAIN AND IT STALLED. I DROVE IT AND IT DID IT TO ME WHEN I WAS ENTERING ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY IT STALLED AND I ALMOST GOT HIT BY A SEMI, PULLED IT OVER AND PUT IT IN PARK AND IT STARTED UP. BROUGHT BACK TO DODGE AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE SPARK PLUGS. THEY REPLACED THEM AT $225 AT MY COST AND SAID IT WAS FIXED. TWO DAYS LATER THE TRUCK STALLED ON MY WIFE AGAIN. THEY TOLD US THAT THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE TIPM MODULE AT $1400 DOLLARS. IT'S BEEN ABOUT A MONTH AND A HALF AND NOW AFTER REPLACING THE TIPM IT IS STILL STALLING. WENT DOWN TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP AND ALL THEY SAID WAS THAT THERE STILL LOOKING AT THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. ALL I WANT IS MY TRUCK BACK FIXED AND TO DRIVE IT SAFELY.. *TR
THE REAR BACK UP SENSORS STARTS TO WORK VERY LATE. WHEN I PUT MY TRUCK IN REVERSE (LEAVING MY CHILD AT SCHOOL) I WENT ABOUT 10FT WHEN I HIT A LIGHTNING POLE IT START TO WORK WHEN THE POLE WAS ABOUT 1 FT AND I CANT BRAKE. THANK GOD THE RESULT MY CHROME BUMPER WAS DAMAGED I THOUGHT IT WAS A CHILD. RECENTLY I PUT THE TRUCK ENTERING IN REVERSE TO MY GARAGE AND THE WALL WAS ABOUT 1 FT AND THE SENSOR INDICATES 3 FT. WIFE WAS DRIVING DONE THE RODE AT ABOUT 35 MILES AND THE TRUCK WENT DEAD , NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. PULLED IT OVER AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. BROUGHT IN TO DODGE DEALERSHIP AND THE REPLACED SOMETHING IN THE COMPUTER AND SAID IT WAS FIXED. I WAS DRIVING IT ON THE HIGHWAY THE NEXT DAY AND IT DIED ON ME CROSSING THE HIGHWAY, SEMI TRUCK ALMOST KILLED ME, PUT IT IN PARK AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE SPARK PLUGS, DISHED OUT 225 DOLLARS FOR THAT, SAID ITS FIXED AGAIN. DID IT AGAIN TO MY WIFE THE NEXT DAY WITH MY KIDS IN THE VEHICLE. BROUGHT IT BACK IN DODGE HAD IT FOR TWO WEEKS, KNOW THERE TELLING ME ITS THE FUSE BOX MODULE AT 1400 DOLLARS. DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, TALKING TO DEALERSHIP MANAGER ABOUT WIFE NOT FEELING SAFE IN THE VEHICLE, SHE SAID ELECTRICAL WORK IS HARD TO FIND OUT WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT. MY DODGE RAM 1500 (2010) HAD ITS FUEL PUMP FAIL. I WOULD LOSE POWER WHILE DRIVING AND HAD DIFFICULTY STARTING. IN ORDER TO START THE VEHICLE, I WOULD HAVE TO TURN THE IGNITION TO THE ON POSITION, WAIT A MOMENT OR TWO, THEN START THE TRUCK. IF I DIDN'T WAIT THE TRUCK WOULDN'T START. SOMETIMES WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP OR EVEN TO PASS, I WOULD NOTICE A LACK OF POWER AS IF THE ENGINE WAS STARVING FOR FUEL. TWO OR THREE TIMES IT WOULD STALL WHILE WAITING AT AN INTERSECTION FOR THE LIGHT TO CHANGE TO GREEN. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO A DODGE DEALER FOR THE PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD IT WAS BECAUSE THE FUEL PUMP ONLY LASTS 4 TO 5 YEARS AND THAT WAS WHY IT FAILED. I HAD TO PAY TO HAVE IT REPLACED. SINCE I DIDN'T HAVE OVER $800.00 I HAD TO PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY PLAN IN ORDER TO GET IT CHANGED. *TR

THE NEXT MORNING I DROVE IT TO THE BEST SERVICE SHOP IN TOWN WHICH WAS 1/2 MILE FROM WHERE I LIVED AND IT TOOK THEM A MONTH AND $1700.00 LATER TO REPAIR. FRONT AXLE,FRONT BEARING,CALIPERS, A NEW DISC AND BRAKES,A FRONT NUCKLE AND DRIVE SPINDLE FOR THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE.
WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK ON MY DODGE RAM 1500 2010 AS THE TANK GETS CLOSER TO BEING FULL THE FUEL WILL OVERFLOW OUT OF THE TANK. I HAVE USED DIFFERENT GAS STATION AND IT IS NOT THE GAS STATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVE LINE AND TRANSFER CASE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS BREAK OFF AND THE TRUCK DEVELOPS EXHAUST LEAK...THE TRUCK THEN HAS NO CONTROL OF REGULATING EXHAUST GASES AND NEXT YOU WILL GET A DAMAGED CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THIS WILL ALSO CAUSE OXYGEN SENSOR TO CHANGE MIXTURE. THESE BOLTS ARE BREAKING ON THE ENGINE, ON THEIR OWN. THE BOLTS ARE TOO SMALL FOR A EXHAUST AREA BOLT. THE INTERNET IS FULL OF FORUMS ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND DODGE HAS DONE NOTHING TO ADDRESS. MODEL 5.7 HEMI HAS HAD ISSUES FROM 2005 -2012. THESE BOLTS CAN NOT STAND UP TO THE HEAT AND STRESS FOR THE INTENDED APPLICATION. *TR

THE DEFROST ON MY 2010 RAM 1500 P/U IS COVERED UNDER RECALL K-17 THAT REPROGRAMS THE HVAC SOFTWARE AND TESTS THAT ALL THE ACTUATORS WHICH DIRECT HEAT AND AIRFLOW ARE WORKING. I CONTACTED DODGE RECALL AND CONFIRMED THE RECALL # AND APPLICABILITY TO MY TRUCK. I WAS TOLD BY THE RECALL SPECIALIST THAT THE TRUCK HAD THE COMPLETED RECALL BUT THAT IT COULD BE COMPLETED TWICE UNDER THE RECALL. I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF THE TRUCK. I WAS TOLD I HAD TO TAKE THE TRUCK TO THE DEAL WHERE THE RECALL WAS ACCOMPLISHED. CHRYSLER COULD NOT TELL ME WHICH DEALER DI THE RECALL, I CONTACTED SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS TRYING TO GET THE HVAC ACTUATOR FOR THE DEFROST SCHEDULED FOR REPAIR. I CITED THAT W/O DEFROST DRIVING IS DANGEROUS AND AS FALL IS COMING I WOULD LIKE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. I RECEIVED ESTIMATES BETWEEN 1 /12 HRS LABOR TO 7 HRS. I AM CONCERNED THAT CHRYSLER RECALL SPECIALIST PROVIDE FALSE INFORMATION AND CANNOT GET A DEALERSHIP TO COMPLETE RECALL REPAIRS. I ALSO HAVE A REAR PINION NUT RECALL AND RECEIVED THE SAME FEEDBACK TO CALL A DEALERSHIP AND SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND I AM PUSHED OUT 2-3 WEEKS WITHOUT A COMMITMENT THE REPAIR WILL BE NO CHARGE. THIS COMPLAINT IS TO HIGHLIGHT THE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RECALL RESOLUTION CAR CUSTOMERS ENDURE, AND THE DECISIONS TO PARK THE VEHICLE OR REPAIR IT, AND FIGHT FOR REIMBURSEMENT.
