DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE .. IT STARTED TO RAIN BIG DOWN POUR I PUT THE WIPERS ON AND WENT RIGHT TO HIGH SPEED AND THEY JUST STOPPED .. I HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE AND IT WAS A FUSE THAT WAS BLOWN GOT A NEW FUSE AND THE NEXT TIME THAT IT STARTED TO RAIN IT WAS ON REGULAR SPEED WHEN THE RAIN STARTED GOING HARDER TURNED IT UP TO HIGH AGAIN AND IT BLEW THE FUSE AGAIN .. I HAD TO TAKE MY TRUCK IN FOR A DIFFERENT RECALL SO I EXPLAINED TO THE WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH MY WIPERS AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE MOTOR OF THE WIPERS AND THAT IT WOULD COST ME 515.00 .. I SAID WAIT A MIN WHY WOULD THIS COST ME SEEMS TO ME THIS IS A SAFETY AND INTERNAL ISSUE OF MY VEHICLE AND MAYBE OTHER VEHICLES NEED TO BE LOOKED AT .. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A DEADLY SITUATION FOR ALL INVOLVED .. BUT THEY DON'T SEEM TO CONCERNED ABOUT THE SITUATION AND ITS EITHER I PAY THE 515.00 TO GET IT FIXED OR IT DOESN'T GET FIXED .AND ALSO IT DID NOT COME UP ON MY MESSAGES THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY WIPER MOTOR WHICH IS PART OF THE ELECTRONICS SYSTEM OF MY TRUCK . *TR
TAKATA RECALL I [XXX] MADE A REPORT IN FEBRUARY 2014 ABOUT MY DODGE RAM 1500 I REPORT ABOUT MY AIR BAGS DID NOT WORK WHEN MY HUSBAND HAD WRECK BY FALLING ASLEEP ON THE INTERSTATE GOING TO WORK WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON AND HE HIT A BIG TRUCK ,YES HE HIT THE STEER WHEEL, BUT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT WORK, DID 15,000 DOLLARS DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK, THIS TRUCK IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE,WE WHERE OFFER THE BUY BACK PROGRAM AND WE TOLD THE DODGE COMPANY YES TAKE THIS TRUCK CAUSE IT IS NOT SAFE BUT THEY SAID WE WHERE UPSIDE ON THE AMOUNT WE OWE,WE RISK OUR LIVES WITH THIS TRUCK EVERYDAY ,THIS HAS ALSO HAS A LOT OF ELECTRIC PROBLEM INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
WHILE DRIVING IN 30 BELOW 0 FAHRENHEIT WEATHER THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE THE TRUCK WAS IN MOTION AT 55 MPH. THERE WAS NO POWER AND ONCE I STOPPED THE VEHICLE I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND NOW THE TRUCK IS REFUSING TO START OR EVEN POWER ON. THE KEY FOB WILL NOT START (MANUALLY OR BY THE BUTTON), UNLOCK, LOCK OR ACTIVATE THE PANIC SYSTEM. *TR
WHILE ACCELERATING TO A NORMAL PACE ON A HIGHWAY MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER AND THE ENGINE STALLED. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY COAST TO THE SHOULDER AND STOP. I TURNED THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION AND THEN TRIED RESTARTING THE ENGINE, WHICH WAS SUCCESSFUL. I CONTINUED ON MY WAY. CLEARLY THIS INCIDENT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT AND INJURY IN LESS LUCKY CIRCUMSTANCES. AN ISSUE I BELIEVE IS RELATED PERTAINS TO THE HEADLIGHTS. THE RIGHT SIDE HEADLIGHTS (HIGH AND LOW BEAMS) HAVE AT TIMES CUT OUT RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING. RECENTLY THEY DIED ALTOGETHER. MY DEALER DETERMINED THE BULBS WERE FINE, AND THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THE TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE, WHICH HAD TO BE REPLACED. *TR
TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE MALFUNCTION. FUEL PUMP CONSTANTLY STAYS ON, EVEN WHEN NO KEY IN TRUCK, DRAINS THE BATTERY. *TR
I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY GARAGE, MOVING VERY SLOW (BECAUSE OF OUR OUTSIDE CATS) WITH VERY SLIGHT PRESSURE ON ACCELERATOR, JUST ENOUGH TO START TO MOVE THE TRUCK BACKWARDS DOWN THE INCLINE OUT OF MY GARAGE. IMMEDIATELY, THE ENGINE REVVED AND STARTED RACING. THE TRUCK PICKED UP SPEED DRAMATICALLY AND I SLAMMED MY RIGHT FOOT DOWN ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, NOT SURE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. THE BRAKES HOWLED AND VIBRATED, TOTALLY FAILING TO STOP THE TRUCK. I LIFTED MY FOOT AND THEN REAPPLIED BOTH FEET TO THE BRAKE WITHOUT THINKING. BRAKE WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND TRUCK SLOWED VERY LITTLE, ENGINE STILL REVVING. I THEN PULLED THE HANDLE TO THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND APPLIED IT TO STOP THE TRUCK. THE ENGINE WAS STILL SPEEDING UP AND I PUT IT IN PARK, IMMEDIATELY TURNING THE KEY TO KILL THE TRUCK. I DIDN'T THINK TO LOOK AT THE RPMS, BUT THEY HAD TO BE HIGH. I GOT OUT AND CHECKED TO SEE IF ANYTHING WAS INTERFERING WITH THE GAS PEDAL. NOTHING WAS, MY MAT THAT I'VE HAD IN IT FOR 2 YEARS LAYS FAR TO THE LEFT OF IT. THE GAS AND BRAKE PEDAL SEEMED TO BE IN NORMAL POSITION. I AM TAKING THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP AFTER WORK TODAY TO SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY ISSUE INVOLVED HERE AND THE RANDOMNESS OF THIS. IT WAS LIKE THE TRUCK HAD A MIND OF ITS OWN AND JUST TRIED TO TAKE OFF. AFTER READING EVERYTHING ONLINE ABOUT THIS HAPPENING TO SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE, I'M NOT SURE I CAN CONTINUE TO DRIVE THIS TRUCK. I BOUGHT IT NEW WITH 19 MILES ON IT. SAFETY RECALL N08 / NHTSA 13V-038 REAR AXLE PINION NUT I HAD MY VEHICLE CALLED IN FOR A RECALL AFTER PURCHASE AT THE END OF 2013. EVER SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD SHAKY AND JERKY STEERING AT TIMES ESPECIALLY AT A HIGHWAY RATE OF SPEED (55-70 MPH). I HAVE NOT TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP DUE TO FINANCES AND MY WARRANTY IS NO LONER VALID. AFTER READING THE RECALL DETAILS NOW I AM ASSUMING THIS HAS BEEN THE ISSUE. AFTER READING WHAT COULD POSSIBLY HAPPEN DUE TO THIS ISSUE I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND NO LONER ALLOW MY 1 YEAR OLD SON IN THE VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING MY TRUCK JUST SHUT OFF. NO WARNING LIGHTS OR ANYTHING. LOST ALL POWER TO STEERING AND WAS LUCKY TO GET STOPPED WITH OUT GETTING HURT. IT STARTED RIGHT UP LIKE NORMAL. FEW DAYS LATER IT DID IT AGAIN. JUST PLAIN SCARY. *TR
WATER LEAKS THROUGH THE REAR WINDOW SEALS. SPOKE TO MANY DODGE RAM OWNERS AND THEY HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE. DODGE HAVE BEEN REPAIRING THE SEALS FOR FREE IF YOUR VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY BUT CHARGING $174.00 IF YOUR WARRANTY HAVE EXPIRED. WHEN I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN TO GET THE LEAK FIXED THE SERVICE PERSONNEL TOLD ME THAT THIS IS AN ON GOING ISSUE WITH THESE TRUCKS AND THERE WAS FOUR MORE TRUCKS IN THAT DAY FOR THIS ISSUE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE RIGHT INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,500.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 13V038000 (POWER TRAIN). THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE THEY WERE UNABLE TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR UNTIL FEBRUARY 2014. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. *TR
RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FOR THE REAR AXLE PINION NUT. BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO SAN ANTONIO DODGE IN SAN ANTONIO TEXAS AND THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER..SERVICE PROVIDER SAID THEY WERE ONLY GETTING 1 PER WEEK FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND IT WOULD NOT BE UNTIL AFTER CHRISTMAS THAT THIS PROBLEM MAY BE TAKEN CARE OF. SO MUCH FOR THE CHRISTMAS TRIP...PROVIDER SAID I COULD STILL TRAVEL EVEN THOUGH THE RECALL NOTICE IS SPECIFIC WHEN IT SAID "COULD CAUSE CRASH WITHOUT WARNING". I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE DEALER HAVING COMPLETE DISREGARD FOR SAFETY BY TELLING ME I COULD TRAVEL 1000+ MILES ON THE HIGHWAY AND NOT WORRY. *TR

WHILE DRIVING 70MPH IN A '11 DODGE RAM THIS MORNING ON THE HIGHWAY, BOTH BACK TIRES LOCKED UP RESULTING IN FISH TAILING COMPLETELY SIDEWAYS THREE TIMES. WE FINALLY DIRECTED IT OFF THE HIGHWAY AND INTO A DITCH TO AVOID ANY ACCIDENTS WHEN ALL 4 TIRES LOCKED UP. LUCKILY AT 0500 THERE WAS MINIMAL TRAFFIC AND MY FIANCE WAS CAPABLE OF KEEPING THE TRUCK FROM ROLLING OVER. *TR
I TOOK MY DODGE INTO THE LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND TO CHECK ON THE REAR AXLE PINION NUT RECALL. THEY TOLD ME THEY NEEDED TO ORDER THE PART AND THAT THEY WOULD CALL ME AS SOON AS IT CAME IN. THAT WAS THREE MONTHS AGO AND I STILL HAVEN'T HEARD BACK FROM THEM. *TR
TIRES ARE WEARING UNEVENLY, ALL FOUR OF THEM. WE NOTICED THIS AT 20000 MILES!! WE NOTICED NOISE COMING FROM THE TRUCK AND WHEN THE DEALERSHIP TOOK THE TRUCK FOR ROAD INSPECTION THEY SAID IS THE TIRES. AND OF COURSE, THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE, THAT I HAVE TO GO WITH GOODYEAR CO. AND MAKE A CLAIM. WE USED THE TRUCK TO DRIVE TO AND FROM WORK ONLY! WE DO NOT TAKE THE TRUCK OFF ROAD OR EVEN TO OUR NEIGHBOR COUNTRY (MEXICO) BECAUSE OF ROAD CONDITIONS THERE.THE TIRES ARE WEARING UNEVENLY AND MAKE THIS TERRIBLE NOISE WE HAVE TO LIVE WITH. WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS ? WE TAKE THE TRUCK EVERY 3000 MILES FOR OIL CHANGE TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY WILL RECOMMEND TIRE ROTATION AT 6000 MILES OR SO, WE DO AS THEY RECOMMEND, BUT NOW, NO ONE IS HELPING OUT! HOW COME THEY DID NOT NOTICE THIS EARLY WEAR IN OUR TIRES?. *TR
MY RIGHT REAR TURN SIGNAL AND MY BRAKE LIGHT STOPPED WORKING . I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND IT WAS FOUND TO HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE TIPM OR A FANCY FUSE BOX . MY COMPLAINT IS THAT CHRYSLER IS AT FAULT FOR THIS DEFECT WHICH CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE LACK OF LIGHT SIGNALS. THEY NEED TO IDENTIFY AN IMMEDIATE AND A ROBUST FIX TO AVOID ACCIDENTS. I NEVER HAD AN ISSUE LIKE THIS IN MY OTHER VEHICLES AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF LIGHT SIGNALS HAS BEEN AROUND FOR OVER 50 YEARS . ANY INVESTIGATION AND FOLLOW UP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. I WAS CHANGING MY SPARK PLUGS(UPPER BANK).1 OF THE BOOTS (THAT IS BETWEEN THE COIL & PLUG) PULLED LOOSE & STAYED ON THE SPARK PLUG.HAD TO DIG IT OUT IN PIECES.(THE BOOT WAS FLUSHED TO THE SPARK PLUG)NO AUTO PARTS STORES WITHIN 20 MILES EVEN STOCKED THE BOOT.WENT TO & CALLED SEVERAL DODGE DEALERS.THEY ONLY SELL THE BOOT WITH THE COIL(NOT JUST THE BOOT) $65.00.THIS IS TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR & UNACCEPTABLE. I STAYED AWAY FROM DODGES FOR YEARS BECAUSE OF THEIR BAD PRODUCTS.SEEMS NOTHING HAS CHANGED.VERY DISAPPOINTED. PURCHASED NEW, IN NOV 2010. WHEN FILLING UP THE NOZZLE CLICKS AND SPRAYS FUEL BACK ON YOU AND DOWN THE SIDE OF THE TRUCK APPX LOSS OF .5 GALLONS PER FILL UP. EVEN IF IT MISSES YOU YOUR HAND WILL BE COVERED IN GAS AND CAUSES CRACKS IN YOUR FINGERS NOW THAT ITS WINTER. I CANNOT IMAGE IT IS GOOD FOR THE PAINT EITHER. *TR
2011 DODGE RAM 1500. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO REAR AXLE PINION NUT RECALL NOTICE. *SMD THE CONSUMER WAS FIRST INFORMED, THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THEN HE WAS INFORMED, THE PARTS HAD ARRIVED, BUT THERE WERE NO INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO REPAIR IT. RECALL # 13V038000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THE FUEL PUMP MODULE WAS REPAIRED. A SECOND REPAIR WAS PERFORMED ON THE VAPOR CANISTER, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE INTEGRATED POWER MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,292.

I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE THAT STATED, THE REAR AXLE PINION NUT ON MY 2011 DODGE RAM 1500 MAY LOOSEN OR FRACTURE. A LOOSE PINION NUT COULD CAUSE THE REAR AXLE TO LOCK UP. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IT COULD LET THE AXLE FLY OFF AND LEAD TO LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND/OR A CRASH. I RECEIVED THE OFFICIAL RECALL NOTICE IN JANUARY OF 2013. I THEN WENT TO THE CAR DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME THEY DIDN'T HAVE PARTS TO CHECK BACK WHEN DODGE GETS THE PARTS MADE. I WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP TODAY TO PICK UP MY TRUCK THAT WAS SUPPOSEDLY REPAIRED FOR CHRONIC PROBLEMS WITH ETC LIGHT COMING ON AND THROTTLE STICKING OR RACING. I CHECKED WITH THE DEALERSHIP MONTHLY AND AS OF TODAY STILL NO PARTS. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND COULD RESULT IN A DEADLY CRASH. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. ONE OF THESE TRUCKS PASS EVERYONE EVERY DAY, NOT TO MENTION I DRIVE ONE. *JS

THE CONTACT FELT THAT SINCE THE FAILURE WAS REPORTED IN FEBRUARY OF 2013, THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A REMEDY AVAILABLE BEFORE SEPTEMBER OF 2013. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
AFTER PASSING A SLOW MOVING VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY, MY TRUCK SHUT DOWN.THE ENGINE CUT OFF ,DASH LIGHTS AND PARK LIGHT STARTED TO FLICKER ERRATICALLY AND THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OFF. I MANAGED TO PULL THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IN ORDER TO STOP THE LIGHTS FROM FLICKERING I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY (THEY FLICKERED WITH THE SWITCH IN THE OFF POSITION). AS THE LIGHTS FLICKERED I COULD HEAR RELAYS CLICKING UNDER THE HOOD AND DASH. AFTER WAITING A WHILE I RECONNECTED THE BATTERY AND ALL SYSTEMS CAME BACK ON AND I WAS ABLE TO START THE TRUCK AND DRIVE IT HOME. THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHECK IT OUT UNTIL WED THE 18. ALL SYSTEMS SEEM TO BE NORMAL. I HAVE TO GO TO WORK . I' M DRIVING IT 60 MILES ROUND TRIP EVERYDAY. *TR

WE WERE NOTIFIED OF A RECALL ON OUR 2011 DODGE RAM PICK UP CONCERNING THE REAR AXLE PINION NUT. I CALLED OUR DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE THE REPAIR. SAFETY RECALL N08 / NHTSA 13V/038. I WAS TOLD THAT THE PARTS AND REPAIR PLAN WERE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME AND WAS URGED TO CALL THE CHRYSLER GROUP RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER AT 800-853-1403. I CALLED THE CGRAC AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PARTS AND PLAN OF SERVICE WEREN'T AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME BUT I WOULD BE NOTIFIED BY E-MAIL WHEN IT WAS. I MADE SURE THEY UNDERSTOOD THAT WE ARE RETIRED TRAVELERS WHO PULL A 32' TRAVEL TRAILER FREQUENTLY AND THAT A SUDDEN "LACK OF MOTIVE POWER" MIGHT PUT OUR LIVES IN EXTREME DANGER. IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT WE "NOT TOW OR HAUL ANYTHING" UNTIL THIS IS SORTED OUT. *JB

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43, 000....UPDATED 11-12-13 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT CRANK, AND WHEN THE VEHICLE DID START, IT WOULD NOT CUT OFF. THE CONSUMER HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY CABLE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE MAIN COMPUTER.

AFTER A COUPLE REPAIRS ON SAME PROBLEM, I WAS DRIVING TO GO SHOPPING WHEN ETC BOLT LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. I WAS LETTING OFF GAS TO SLOW DOWN SO I COULD TRY SHUTTING TRUCK OFF TO RESET COMPUTER SO I COULD GET IT TO DEALER. WHEN I LET OFF GAS THE TRUCK WAS ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN SO I HELD BRAKE DOWN AND LET UP ON BRAKE TO INCH FORWARD TO GET ALL THE WAY OFF ROAD WHEN IT ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN LIKE IT WAS FLOORED. I STOPPED AND PUT IT IN PARK. IN PARK THE ENGINE WAS RACING AT 3000 RPM. THIS IS A DANGEROUS FAULTY SYSTEM.I HAD TAKEN IT TO DEALER AND THEY RESET IT SAYING WHEN THEY CALLED FACTORY THEY WERE TOLD TO RESET IT. IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN MAY BE WIRE HARNESS. I HAVE TAKEN TIME TO FILE THESE COMPLAINTS AS I FEEL THIS IS A DEADLY ISSUE. THESE TRUCKS HAVE CHILDREN RIDING IN THEM AND IN OTHER CARS THAT MAY COLLIDE WITH THEM. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY LETTER FROM CHRYSLER THAT THE REAR AXLE PINION NUT ON MY DODGE RAM 1500 YEAR 2011 HAS BEEN RECALLED. I HAVE HELD THIS LETTER WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT A FOLLOW UP LETTER OF THE PART THAT IS IN QUESTION WOULD BE SENT TO MY LITHIA DEALERSHIP SOON. THIS IS NOT THE CASE IN FACT I CALLED CHRYSLER, THEIR RESPONSE TO ME IS THAT THERE WILL BE NO PARTS AVAILABLE IN THE NEAR FUTURE TO BE SHIPPED TO MY LITHIA DEALERSHIP TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND THAT I SHOULD USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING MY TRUCK. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, AND IF ANYTHING HAPPENS WHILE I AM DRIVING MY TRUCK I WILL INTERN SUE THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION FOR NOT HAVING MY PART AVAILABLE AT MY DEALERSHIP IN A REASONABLE TIME.
