THE VEHICLE STOPS UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON A BUSY STREET AND HIGHWAY ALMOST GETTING INTO TWO ACCIDENTS WITH FAMILY MEMBERS IN MY VEHICLE
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD SLOWING DOWN HEADING TOWARDS A STOPLIGHT AND MY 2011 DODGE RAM STOPPED AT THE STOPLIGHT AND WOULD NOT TURN OVER IT WOULD CRANK BUT WOULD NOT START. SO I HAD TO PUSH THE TRUCK INTO A PARKING LOT CALL FOR A TOW TRUCK AND FURTHER INSPECT THE VEHICLE. UPON LOOKING AT THE VEHICLE AND LEFT LOOKING UNDER THE HOOD I NOTICED COOLANT LEAKING BUT WAS NOT A PROBLEM. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK ARRIVE 3 1/2 HOURS LATER I STARTED TALKING TO HIM AND TOGETHER HIS OPINION OF WHAT HAPPEN POSSIBLE TIMING OR HEAD GASKET BLOWN HEAD GASKET BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE THERE WAS NO LEAKAGE I STILL HAVE COMPRESSION SPARK AND FUEL COMING TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED ALL THE WAY BACK TO MY PROPERTY WHERE MY BROTHER-IN-LAW ASSISTED WHO HAS BEEN A MECHANIC FOR THE LAST 18 YEARS HAS STARTED GOING THROUGH IT WE HAVE NOTICED SOME SIMILAR RECALLS WITH THE TIMING CHAIN ISSUES WHICH WE BELIEVE THAT IS THE ISSUE BECAUSE WE DO HAVE COMPRESSION AND SPARK IGNITION AND FUEL IN THE VEHICLE. IF YOU CAN PLEASESHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS I WOULD REALLY ENJOY HEARING BACK SO I CAN FIND OUT WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THE TRUCK AND MAY BE A POSSIBLE RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE.
LIFTER FAILURES IN ENGINE, EVEN WHEN MAINTAINED. IN MOTION WHEN INCIDENT OCCURRED, CITY DRIVING. THIS CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO COMPLETELY STALL WHEN IN MOTION. KNOWN MECHANICAL FAILURE BY RAM/DODGE, BUT THEY HAVE TAKEN NO ACTION. THIS IS 5.7 HEMI ENGINES. REGARDING RAM 1500. *TR
TIPM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AT VEHICLE START-UP, THE ENGINE RATTLED AND VIBRATED WITHOUT WARNING. OVER TIME, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED HIM THAT THERE WAS A MISFIRE IN CYLINDER #8. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT IN ORDER TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE, THE LIFTERS AND POSSIBLY THE CAMSHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE DEALER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS THEN REFERRED TO NHTSA AND WAS OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 155,000.
BOUGHT A USED 2011 RAM 1500 AND FOUND OUT SOME OF THE MANIFOLD BOLTS BROKE WHEN STARTED UP NOTICED A TICK SOUND HAD CHECKED AND FOUND OUT THE HEMI IS NATORIOUS FOR THIS AND NO RECALL. BUT EXHAUST LEAKING OUT IS DANGEROUS AND FROM WHAT IV'E SEEN AND HEARD THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE HEMI
Tailgate randomly unlocks and opens while vehicle is in motion. Cargo comes out. The dealer was shown the defective locking mechanism and refused to repair it.
MY 2011 RAM 1500 LARAMIE 4X4 WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY OVERNIGHT AND THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. THIS BATTERY WAS FIVE YEARS OLD, SO I REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THE VERY NEXT MORNING THE NEW BATTERY WAS DEAD. I CHARGED THE BATTERY AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HAVE THE ALTERNATOR TESTED, THE GENTLEMAN TOLD ME THE ALTERNATOR WAS NOT CHARGING LIKE IT SHOULD, SO I REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR. I DROVE THE VEHICLE AROUND FOR AN HOUR AND WENT BACK HOME. THE NEXT MORNING THE BATTERY WAS DEAD AGAIN. I CAN DRIVE THE VEHICLE DURING THE DAY AND ALL WORKS WELL UNLESS IT IS PARKED FOR OVER 5 HOURS. THE BATTERY DRAINS DURING THAT TIME AND THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START UNLESS THE BATTERY IS CHARGED. I HAVE LISTENED FOR THE FUEL PUMP TO TURN OFF AND ON AND I BELIEVE IT DOES TURN OFF/ON ACCORDING TO WHAT I KNOW. HOWEVER, I DID NOTICE THE FUEL PUMP CONTINUING TO RUN AFTER IT PRESSURED UP, AFTER ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS. I HAVE PULLED THE FUEL PUMP RELAY FUSE AND IT APPEARS TO BE FINE. I HAVE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT TWICE IN THE LAST TWO YEARS AND AM NOT SURE IF THIS IS RELATED.
In march/ 2020 my truck shut off 3xs going down the hwy with me and my kids in it . all without any warning. Upon the third event it caused my truck to began losing power to my headlights and tail lights and no hazards as well ? Which i thought was a very concerning matter especially at night... Very dangerous and it could have had one of us hurt or even killed . i payed 150 for a wrecker and hauled it to a mechanic that night . over the course of the next few days they checked it and no signs of the same thing recurring while at the shop . payed another 75 dollars amd drove truck for another couple months and then the same thing happening again . yet this time i was lucky enough to be just pulling out of my driveway . took to mechanic again paying a friend 75 to carry by tow dolly . only to be told nothing was wrong . its like my truck is possessed . later on the truck ended up shorting my fuel pump and my tipm costing me alot of money 1400 to replace the tipm. And 535 to replace the fuel pump . then 1 yr later again the security light on dash came on and bam it burnt my fuel pump up again , thus causing me to fork out another 535 plus a by pass relay harmess for 135. Luckily i have had no more issues out of the fuel pump . knock on wood ... But the truck still shoots the security light on and causes all my lights to stop working and puts me in harms way whenever the truck feels like acting up . this is ridiculous and dangerous bc might i add me and my family were in the vehicle in almost every instance that occured. And thats not safe . i thought highly of dodge but now im starting to wonder if its even safe to have me and my family. In this truck again . luckily the last two time the incident occured i was leaving my house so i was able to have help getting it back in my drive way when it unlocked from its lock down mode. But there has 5o be some type of issue that can be resolved after the amount of money payed for the repairs and the cost of truck as well
THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH. I HAVE TO PUT THE KEY IN REPEATEDLY JUST TO GET IT TO CATCH SO IT'LL START. DOESN'T MATTER WHETHER I'M DRIVING DOWN THE STREET OR OUT ON THE HIGHWAY THE TRUCK JUST TURNS OFF. I'VE HAD IT SHUT DOWN GOING OVER RAILROAD TRACKS, IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS, ON THE HIGHWAY WITH PEOPLE COMING UP ON ME GOING 70 MPH. I CALLED DODGE & THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD COST 6-8 HUNDRED DOLLARS TO REPAIR. I'M FINDING THAT A LITTLE HARD TO SWALLOW, SINCE I'VE DONE NOTHING TO CAUSE THIS ISSUE. THIS ISSUE IS GOING TO EVENTUALLY CAUSE A WRECK
MY TAILGATE HAS OPENED BY ITSELF SEVERAL TIMES I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY EYES AND THE LAST TIME WE WERE PULLING A TRAILER IT OPENED WHILE DRIVING AND THIS IS WHAT I'M LEFT WITH A RUINED TAILGATE WHERE WE CAN'T EVEN OPEN IT TO USE IT. COMING FOR THE SENIOR CENTER ON THE FREEWAY. MY TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON & A BELL WAS RINGING. I PUT MY EMERGENCY LIGHT ON, I DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON. EVERYONE AROUND ME HAD TO SLOW DOWN AND I'M IN TRAFFIC. THEY WILL RUN YOU OVER ON THE FREEWAY. BLOWING THERE HORN AND THEY CAN SEE SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH YOU TRUCK. THE TRUCK SLOW DOWN SO I KEEP GOING. WHEN I GOT OFF THE FREEWAY I WENT TO O'REILLY AUTO PART TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON. THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON. THEY PUT THE MACHINE ON IT AND SAID IT WAS A MISFIRE CODE 5 AND OTHER CODE ALSO. NOW TO FIND OUT THAT IT THE CAM/LIFTER THAT NEED FIXING. OVER $5,000.00 DOLLAR WORK FOR THIS TRUCK. I LOOK ON LINE TO SEE IF IT WAS A RECALLS FOR THIS AND FOUND OUT THAT ALMOST ALL THE DODGE RAM WAS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. SOMETHING NEED TO BE DOING. 2011 DODGE RAM 1500. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE BUY BACK PROGRAM. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE BUYBACK PROGRAM FOR STEERING AND AXLE FAILURES.*JS
I HAVE 2 ON GOING ISSUES WITH MY 2011 RAM 1500 OUTDOORSMAN 5.7 4X4 WITH RAM BOX. FIRST ISSUES: SHIFTIER DOESN'T LOCK AND SLIDE OUT OF GEAR OR PARK WITH OR WITHOUT KEY IN IGNITION. WHEN IN GEAR AND RUNNING AND READY TO PARK VEHICLE IT DOESN'T SEEM TO GO IN PARK MOST TIMES WHICH THEN CAN'T BE SHUTOFF OR KEY CAN NOT COME OUT OF IGNITION. THIS SEEMS LIKE AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR OTHER RAM TRUCKS ON FORUM SITES AND REVIEWS OF THESE TRUCKS. WHAT SHOULD I DO? WHY ISN'T THIS TRUCKS VIN HAVE A RECALL ON THIS? SECOND ISSUES: I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE BUILT IN POWER TO THE INTEGRATED MODULE FUSE BOX THAT POWERS THE FUEL PUMP. THIS KEEPS EITHER KILLING MY BATTERY OR MAKING MY TRUCK STALL WHILE I'M DRIVING. THIS HAS CAUSED SOME SCARY SITUATIONS. WE TRACED THE DRAW OF POWER PACK TO THE FUSE BOX'S BUILT IN RELAY WHICH IS SOLDIER TO THE BOTTOM OF THE FUSE BOX AND THERE ISN'T ONE THAT CAN BE REPLACED. THE ONLY OPTION IS TO REPLACE THE WHOLE UNIT FOR OVER $1,000+ NOT INCLUDING DEALER MECHANIC COSTS. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED 2 TIMES AND MULTIPLE VISITS TO MECHANIC TO CHECK, CHARGE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR. AFTER MY MECHANIC AND MYSELF RESEARCHED THIS TO IS A MASS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET AND FORUMS AND EITHER A PURPOSEFUL DESIGN FLAW OR NEVERTHELESS A POOR AND UNSAFE ONE WITH THESE TRUCKS. THIS CAUSES 2 ISSUES WITH MY TRUCK AND KEPT ME FREEZING IN THE COLD ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES ON ROADS AND HIGHWAY STRAIGHTAWAYS AND WHILE TURNING AFFECTING POWER STEERING LOSS WHEN DRIVING? WHAT SHOULD I DO? WHY ISN'T THIS TRUCKS VIN HAVE A RECALL ON THIS? HOW COME BIG BUSINESS CAN NOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR MASS PRODUCTION OF FAULTY DANGEROUS PARTS THAT HEY ARE DESIGNING AND USING IN THE TRUCKS THEY BUILD. OUR 2011 RAM 1500 HAS RUST UNDER THE PAINT, BUBBLING IT UP, UNDER THE DRIVER'S SIDE BACK DOOR RIGHT ON/ABOVE THE ROCKER PANEL. THE ACTUAL DOOR IS NOT AFFECTED AND APPEARS TO BE RUST FREE, IT IS THE BODY OF THE TRUCK THAT IS AFFECTED. WE NOTICED THIS SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND HAVE OWNED THE TRUCK FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 YEARS. I CALLED AN AUTO BODY REPAIR PLACE AND THE PERSONNEL TOLD ME THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH DOGE TRUCKS BECAUSE THE PANELS ARE NOT WELDED TOGETHER ANY LONGER, BUT ARE NOT BONDED TOGETHER WITH SOME KIND OF INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH ADHESIVE WHICH THEN CAUSES MOISTURE TO BE UNABLE TO ESCAPE, WHICH CAUSES RUST. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND FAULTY DESIGN AND TO CONTACT DODGE TO SEE IF THEY COULD ASSIST, BUT THEY CLAIM THEY CANNOT DUE TO THERE BEING NO RECALLS ON THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE. A GENTLEMAN FROM THE FCA INSTRUCTED ME TO COME HERE AND FILE A COMPLAINT. THOUGH THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS LISTED, THERE IS NO RECALL BECAUSE THERE IS NO RISK OF INJURY CONSIDERED, BUT FOR ME THE RUST IS ON THE ROCKER PANEL, WHICH IS STRUCTURAL, AND IS A RISK IF IT WEAKENS. ALSO, THE GENTLEMAN AT THE FCA AGREED WITH ME THAT THIS IS A DEFECT IN MANUFACTURING, SO IT WOULD ONLY BE GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICE FOR DODGE TO COVER THE EXPENSES AND WORK TO IMPROVE THEIR PRODUCT BECAUSE IT CAN AND HAS PUT PEOPLE IN DANGER. THE COMPLAINTS ARE OUT THERE, AND I BELIEVE RUST ABSOLUTELY POSES RISK OF INJURY, AND I ALSO BELIEVE THAT DODGE SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FAULTY DESIGN OF THEIR PRODUCT BECAUSE THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. OUR VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN REGISTERED IN A STATE WHERE INCLEMENT WEATHER AND SALT BRINE FOR THE ROADS WAS REGULAR, AND IT HAS NOT BEEN REGISTERED NEAR THE BEACH. WE LIVE IN THE PIEDMONT AREA OF SC AND EVERY TIME WE RETURN FROM THE BEACH WE THOROUGHLY WASH IT. RUST SHOULDN'T BE AN ISSUE. DO NOT REMEMBER THE DATE THAT WE FIRST NOTICED
ANYTIME VEHICLE IS FUELED, UPON REACHING FULL, FUEL SPRAYS OUT OF FILLER NECK UNDER EXTREME PRESSURE. SOMETIMES BEFORE, BUT USUALLY AFTER THE NOZZLE HAS SHUTOFF DELIVERY. FUEL SHOOTS/ SPRAYS UP TO 2 FEET AWAY FROM VEHICLE CREATING A SERIOUS FIRE / ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD. IT IS HARD TO JUDGE THE AMOUNT SPRAYED, BUT I SUSPECT ANYWHERE FROM A PINT TO 1/2 GALLON DEPENDING ON CIRCUMSTANCES AND FACTORS. SPEED OF DELIVERY AND THE AMOUNT TANK IS EMPTY. THE LOWER THE LEVEL THE WORSE/ FARTHER THE SPRAY. DELIVERY APPEARS TO PRESSURIZE THE TANK AND CAUSE SPRAY CONDITION NO MATTER WHAT PRECAUTIONS ARE TAKEN TO AVOID. I PURCHASED VEHICLE USED AROUND 1 YEAR AGO AT A DEALER AND THIS HAS HAPPENED AT DIFFERENT FILLING STATIONS, EVEN THE NIGHT PURCHASED EVERY SINCE.
CURRENTLY HAS A HAZARDOUS MALFUNCTION THAT IS PUTTING MYSELF AND MY PASSENGERS AT RISK. IN THE SPAN OF 2 MONTHS, I HAVE HAD THE STEERING WHEEL COMPLETELY "LOCK" UP WHILE IN DRIVE ON NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS (SUNNY AND CLEAR, NOT TOO BRIGHT, NOT TOO WINDY OR WET AT ALL, NO FOG) WHEN PERFORMING A RIGHT TURN AT APPROPRIATE TURN SPEEDS. YOU WOULD BE UNABLE TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE OUT OF HARM'S WAY WHEN THE WHEEL TENSES AND LOCKS UP COMPLETELY LIKE THIS. MY FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH THIS ISSUE WAS TURNING ON A RIGHT LANE WITH YOUR OWN PROTECTED LANE AT THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT FOR THE TURN. IT COMPLETELY LOCKED UP ON ME AND I EASED MY FOOT FORCIBLY ONTO THE BRAKE SO THAT I COULD AVOID BRAKING TOO HARD AND CAUSING THE TIRES TO SPIN OUT OR WORSE, HITTING THE POLE THAT IS DIRECTLY 200 FEET AWAY (APPROXIMATE SPEED WAS 35MPN AND BRAKE REACTION TIME WAS 2 SECONDS, ACCOUNTING FOR INITIAL NOTICE OF THE SUDDEN TENSION AND LOSS OF COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE TRUCK'S STEERING.). THE SECOND ENCOUNTER OCCURRED WITHIN A 2 MONTH SPAN, THIS TIME CAREFULLY APPROACHING A STREET INTERSECTION. I FORTUNATELY REALIZED WHAT WAS OCCURRING AND TRIED TO MOVE FAR RIGHT AND OUT OF HARM'S WAY BUT I COULD ONLY MAINTAIN MY APPROPRIATE LANE. AT FIRST I COULD NOT TAKE OUT THE KEY OR TURN IT ON OR OFF. IT WAS STILL IN DRIVE TO MY REALIZATION. I PUT IT INTO PARK AND WAS ABLE TO TURN THE TRUCK BACK ON AND CONTINUE MY WAY TO WORK. HOWEVER, I COULD ONLY BE PARANOID THAT THIS COULD OCCUR TO ME UNDER MORE SEVERE OR WORSE CONDITIONS LIKE RAIN OR FOG. WHAT IF THIS MALFUNCTION WERE TO OCCUR TO ME IF I WAS ON A VERY ELEVATED HIGHWAY OR HAD SOMEONE TAILING ME AT THAT VERY INSTANCE?
MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON THE INTERSTATE. THE CAM SHAFT LIFTERS FAIL, CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE CAM SHAFT. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. THERE IS ALSO AN ISSUE WITH THE MANIFOLD BOLTS BREAKING OFF INSIDE THE ENGINE. WHEN I SPOKE WITH THE DODGE DEALER, HE ADVISED ME THAT HE DOES THESE REPAIRS ON A DAILY BASIS. IT IS A VERY COMMON AND WELL KNOWN ISSUE.
THIS HAS BEEN ON ONGOING ISSUE. FIRST WOULD NOT START FINALLY AFTER TRYING SO MANY TIMES I JUST STARTED USING ANOTHER CAR AND I GOT THE FUEL PUMPED REPLACED THEN THE SAME ISSUE NOW THE AC UNIT WAS NOT WORKING SO I REPLACED IT 3 TIMES. WELL NOW IT STILL DOES NOT WORK AND AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO FIX IT I JUST GIVE IT SOME TIME TO START NOW. ONLY WAY TO START VEHICLE. THEN WHILE ON THE FWY THE VEHICLE JUST LOST POWER I ASSUME BUT MY SPEED WAS DECLINING WHILE I WAS DRIVING SO I TRIED TO PRESS ON THE GAS OR BREAK BUT BOTH WERE TOO STIFF WOULDNT DO ANYTHING AND FINALLY MAYBE LIKE 25 SECONDS THAT MY VEHICLE WAS LIKE THAT FINALLY I COULD FEEL THAT I WAS ABLE TO PRESS ON GAS I COULD TELL MY SPEED WAS RISING THEN THE BREAK NO LONGER WAS STIFF AND HARD TO PRESS ON . BUT THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS . THIS ALL HAPPENED ON HWY AT 70 MILES
FIRST THE GAS KEPT STOPPING EVEN WHEN IT WASN'T FULL,. NOW WHEN FILLING GAS TANK, THE GAS WILL NOT STOP. INSTEAD IT WILL KEEP GOING AND SPILL ALL OVER.*DT*JB
2011 DODGE RAM FUEL PUMP BYPASS RELAY HAS GONE OUT. TRUCK WILL NOT START. PUT JUMPER WIRE ON IT TO GET HOME. THE WEATHER IS IN THE 30'S AND TRUCK WON'T START EVEN WITH JUMPER. DEALER SAYS NEED NEW TIPM, DON'T HAVE 1350.00. IS THERE A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM?
I HAVE A CAMSHAFT FAILURE IN A 2011 RAM 1500. IT DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE IN A TRAFFIC JAM AND HAS ME STUCK 400 MILES FROM HOME. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND IT COST ABOUT 5000 DOLLARS TO FIX. IT IT OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURER DEFECT BECAUSE THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY REPORTS OF THIS. MY VEHICLE IS REGULARLY SERVICED WITH FULL SYNTHETIC MOTOR OIL AND I RUN MID GRADE OR PREMIUM FUEL ALL THE TIME. THIS PROBLEM IS WITH ALL 5.7L HEMI'S NOT JUST THE RAM. MY FRIEND HAS A CHARGER WITH THE SAME ISSUE
MY TRUCK STARTED HAVING AN ISSUE AFTER MY LAST RECALL WAS COMPLETED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEPT COMING ON TOOK BACK TO DODGE, AND THE SAID IT WAS FIXED. SO AFTER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEPT COMING ON, GOT A SYSTEM CHECK SAID IT WAS ASSOCIATED WITH FUEL PUMP OR LINE. WHEN MENTIONING TO DOGE SAID IT WAS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH RECALL. NOW MY TRUCK WILL NOT START WITHOUT A JUMP OFF AND RECENTLY CUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING WENT DEAD IN THE MIDDLE OF ROAD. NO POWER AT ALL I HAD TO JUMP OUT QUICKLY AND JUMP MY TRUCK OFF JUST TO GET TO SAFETY. THIS IS DANGEROUS. I COULD HAVE BEEN HIT DUE TO THIS ISSUE. BECAUSE OF THE CONSTANT JUMPING OF DUE TO BATTERY DYING DUE FUEL PUMP NOT SHUTTING OFF. THE FUEL PUMP IS GOING OUT AND IT WAS MENTIONED THIS WAS A KNOW ISSUE FOR DODGE RAMS.
CAM/LIFTER ISSUE WITH THE 01-11 DODGE RAM 1500! IT'S A FACTORY ENGINE PROBLEM THAT THE AVERAGE PERSON CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX. IT'S BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE DAY ONE & YET IT'S STILL NOT A RECALL ON IT. NOBODY HAS THE TIME OR MONEY TO FIX A PROBLEM THE MANUFACTURERS SHOULD HAVE FIXED BEFORE HAND. KEEPS THROWING THE CYLINDER 5 MISFIRE CODE & EVERYTHING THAT I CAN AFFORD TO REPLACE HAS BEEN REPLACED
HIT A DEER WITH MY TRUCK. FUEL PUMP RUNS ALL THE TIME. HAD TRUCK TESTED. WAS PURL PUMP RELAY BYPASS KIT. OTHER MODELS ARE RECALLED FOR THIS SAME REASON. ALSO TRANSMISSION IS STUCK IN 4TH GEAR. TESTED THAT TOO. IT'S THE LR SOLENOID IN THE COM. NONE OF THIS ISSUES WAS WRONG BEFORE HITTING THE DEER. I FEEL THEY SHOULD BE RECALLED.

I BOUGHT A 2011 DODGE RAM 1500, THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE PCU, NOW THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE TIPM, WIRING HARNESS'S, ETC. AT A COST OF $2500.00. DODGE ACCORDING THE RECALLS I HAVE SEEN WERE PUTTING FAULTY TIPM IN ALL DODGE MODELS BETWEEN 2004 AND 2012, I AM DISABLED VETERAN I CANNOT AFFORD $2500.00
2011 DODGE RAM 1500 STALLED AT INTERSECTION, AND STALLED ON BUSY FREEWAY 198 IN THE FOG, I HAD THE FUEL PUMP REPLACED, NOW WE FIND OUT THAT IT IS ELECTRICAL AND THE CAUSE IS A FAULTY TIPM THE COST OF REPLACE 1500 DOLLARS.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,000.

TOOK IT TO HANFORD DODGE THEY DIAGNOSTIC SAYS IT WAS THE TIPM, THEY SAME PROBLEM THAT WAS RECALLED FOR THE DURANGO. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WITH DODGE...THEY NEED TO REIMBURSE ME FOR THIS THEY HAVE BEEN PUTTING IN FAULTY TIPM KNOWINGLY
HAS NUMBER 6 MISFIRE AND WAS DETERMINED AFTER ITEMS REPLACED IT IS A SEIZED LIFTER CAUSING THE ISSUE
CAMSHAFT AND LIFTERS MALFUNCTION DRIVING HIGHWAY VEHICLE WILL GO INTO LIMP MODE, WHEN CHECKED OUT SAYS NUMBER 5 MISFIRE, REPLACE COIL PACK AND PLUGS, SAME THING
WHILE THE ENGINE IS SHUT OFF THE FUEL PUMP WILL CONTINUE TO RUN AND WILL CAUSE THE BATTERY TO DIE. THIS IS THE RESULT OF A FAULTY FUEL PUMP RELAY. THIS PART HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES WITH THE SAME TIPM BUT NOT FOR DODGE RAM TRUCKS.

THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING AND A THIRD VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT HER HEAD HIT THE WINDSHIELD, THE STEERING WHEEL, AND THE SIDE GLASS. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK, HEAD, BACK, ARM, AND LEGS. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.

THE DEALER REPLACED THE BATTERY, CONNECTOR, AND REPROGRAMMED THE FUEL RELAY. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 114,000.

NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
ROLLER BEARING ON LIFTER HAD FAILED REQUIRING THE REPLACEMENT OF ALL LIFTERS AND THE CAMSHAFT. THIS OCCURRED AT 91620 MILES IN SPITE OF A PERFECT SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE RECORD.

TOOK GAS CAP OFF THEN REINSTALLED, FUEL GAGE WORKING, BUT CEL STILL ON.
ENGINE CAM SHAFT AND LIFTER FAILURE. LIFTERS FAIL RESULTING IN CAM SHAFT LOBE WEARING UNEVENLY CAUSING EXTREME SHAKING AND MISFIRE WHILE DRIVING UNDER LOAD AND COULD CAUSE DRIVERS TO WRECK WHILE IN MOTION
I HAVE BROKEN MANIFOLD BOLTS. TOOK IT TO MIENEKE THE MECHANIC SAID HE COULD SEE THE BOLTS SHAKING SO HE KNEW THEY WERE BROKEN.
