AIR SUSPENSION COMPRESSOR WENT OUT. WE LIVE IN MINNESOTA AND UPON THIS HAPPENING I TALKED TO THE DEALER AND RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE ONLINE AND IT IS A NON STOP ISSUE. THE DEALER SAID THEY FIX THIS SAME PROBLEM ALL THE TIME BUT THERE IS NO RECALL. IT IS A EXPENSIVE FIX THAT DODGE IS NOT COVERING YET IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE.
STEERING LOCKS UP. EVERY TIME I GO TO START MY DODGE RAM 1500 2015 THE STEERING IS LOCKED. THE TRUCK NEEDS TO BE AT HIGH TEMPERATURES TO UNLOAD CLEAN THE STEERING. SOMETIMES WHEN YOU START DRIVING IT LOCKS UP AGAIN. THIS ISSUE IS GOING TO GO CAUSE ACCIDENTS. THE DODGE DEALER IN MIAMI FLORIDA PLANET DODGE IS AWARE OF THESE ISSUES ON THESE VEHICLES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS FAULTY. THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME LOOSE AND WAS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DODGE CHRYSLER HUNTINGTON BEACH (16701 BEACH BLVD, HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA 92647, (714) 841-3999), BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. LOSES POWER STEERING AT SLOWER CITY SPEEDS AND WHILE MAKING TURNS.
IN COLD WEATHER THE AIR RIDE SUSPENSION STOPS WORKING. WHILE SITTING OR DRIVING THE AIR BAGS LOSE ALL AIR PRESSURE AND DROPS ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE BUMP STOPS. I AM UNSURE EXACTLY WHAT IS CAUSING THE EXACT PROBLEM BUT IT IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE BECAUSE THE TRUCK BOUNCES ALL OVER THE ROAD EVERY BUMP YOU HIT. I CALLED MY DEALER AND HE SAID HE HAS FOUR TRUCKS IN HIS SHOP AT THE MOMENT WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS NEEDS TO GET RESOLVED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
THE AIR SUSPENSION WARNING MESSAGE COMES UP EVERY TIME IT GETS BELOW 10 DEGREES, AND THE SUSPENSION BAGS COMPLETELY DEFLATED WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD. I HAD NO SUSPENSION, JUST RIDING ON THE BUMP STOPS.

I HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT PROMPTED BY A FUEL SENSOR FAIL WARNING. AT TIMES WHEN THE TANK IS FULL THE LIGHT GOES OUT AND THE FUEL GAUGE WORKS. WHEN THE TANK GETS TO ABOUT 3/4 THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE GAUGE DROPS TO EMPTY. I HAVE LOOKED IN SEVERAL REPAIR FORUMS AND HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM ON SEVERAL YEAR MODELS. FURTHERMORE, IT IS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR COSTING ANYWHERE FROM ABOUT 700.00 TO 1,000.00 DOLLARS. IN THESE FORUMS MECHANICS ARE ADVISING NOT TO REPLACE THE SENSOR WITH MOPAR PARTS AS THE ISSUE WILL OCCUR AGAIN. OBVIOUSLY THESE ARE SUBSTANDARD OR DEFECTIVE PARTS. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THESE SENSORS. TO ADD FURTHER FRUSTRATION, I CANNOT GET AN ANNUAL INSPECTION STICKER WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A DEFECTIVE BATTERY PLACED IN THE VEHICLE. THE BATTERY EXPLODED AND DAMAGED THE STARTER, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BRANHAVEN JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE RAM (348 W MAIN ST, BRANFORD, CT 06405, (203) 488-6351) FOR REPAIRS, BUT THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, WHICH CAUSED THE REAR WINDSHIELD TO BECOME SMASHED. THE DEALER KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR NINE WEEKS AND A LOANER VEHICLE WAS PROVIDED. THE REAR WINDSHIELD WAS REPAIRED, THE ENGINE HARNESS WAS REPLACED, AND AN ENTIRELY NEW WIRING SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED. THE CONTACT EXPECTED SOME TYPE OF COMPENSATION FROM THE DEALER, BUT NONE WAS OFFERED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
THIS IS THE SECOND RAM I HAVE OWNEC WITH A SHIFT KNOB ON THE DASH. BOTH HAVE FAILED AROUND 60K MILES. IN BOTH TRUCKS THE SHIFT WILL RANDOMLY EITHER GO JNTO NEUTRAL OR PARK WHILE STOPPED.. HAS HAPPENED TO ME AT RED LIGHTS. I'VE HAD TO SHIFT BACK TO PARK AND RESET THE DESIRED GEAR. ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS I HAD CYCLE THE SHIFTER 3 TIMES BEFORE IT WOULD GO INTO GEAR CAUSING TRAFFIC TO BACK UP. I REPLACED THE SHIFTER AND CURED THE PROBLEM ON BOTH TRUCKS. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT AND SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL.
WAS DRIVING IN TOWN NOT TOWING OR LOADED, TRUCK STUMBLED LIKE OUT OF FUEL. I PULLED OVER AND RAISED THE HOOD AND SAW SMOKE COMING FROM PASSENGERS SIDE UNDER THE ENGINE COVER AT THE EGR, EGR COOLER. WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER HANDY I POINTED IT UNDER THE ENGINE COVER PUTTING THE FIRE OUT ON THAT SIDE BUT THE DIESEL FUEL FROM THE BURNT PLASTIC HOSE SPREAD TO THE OTHER SIDE CATCHING THAT SIDE ON FIRE. FCA AFTER SENDING A REP. COULD NOT DETERMINED WHAT CAUSED THE FIRE BUT THEY WOULD EXCEPT NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FIRE. THEY ALSO SAID THAT THEY WERE SURE THAT I WOULD UNDERSTAND THAT FIRES HAPPENS. WELL I DON'T!! WITH OVER 40 YEARS AS A AUTO SERVICE CENTER OWNER I DO UNDERSTAND THAT THE ECO DIESEL HAS A VERY SERIOUS FIRE PROBLEM ON THEIR 2014/2017 RAM 1500 ECODIESEL. THIS FIRE PROBLEM IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM THE ENVIRONMENTAL CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT SUIT.
THE REAR WINDOW LEAKS WATER INTO THE CAB OF THE TRUCK WHEN IT RAINS.
PASSENGER SIDE STORAGE WELL WAS COMPLETELY FILLED WITH WATER. WENT UNNOTICED FOR UNKNOWN NUMBER OF DAYS. TOOK VEHICLE INTO CROWN DODGE OF FAYETTEVILLE. THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THE GROWING NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ON THE SAME ISSUE. REPLACED 3RD BRAKE LIGHT, THEY TRIED TELLING ME THAT ALL DOOR WEATHER STRIPS WERE WORN AND NEEDED REPLACED. DEALERSHIP DID NOT LOOK FOR, FIND OR FIX WATER DAMAGE TO THE SEATS, CARPET OR BODY PANELS. THIS IS THE SECOND INCIDENT WITH WATER DAMAGE IN THE SAME SPOT WHILE I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 16V167000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

DURING THE FAILURE, THE STEERING SENSOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BUTLER CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (1555 SALEM RD, BUFORD, SC 29902), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
MY TRUCK CAUGHT FIRE WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE ON DEC 23 2018. ALL GAUGES SUGGESTED NORMAL OPERATING PARAMETERS. THE TRUCK HAS 120K MILES. IT'S A TOTAL LOSS. *DT *TR
DRIVING SLOWLY THROUGH AN AREA WITH WATER ON ROAD. THERE WAS BLACK ICE ON THE ROAD AND TRUCK HIT ICE. WENT OUT OF CONTROL ACROSS ROAD UP AN ENBANKMENT AND SLAMMED INTO A TELEPHONE POLE. TOTALED TRUCK AND AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY
STEERING WHEEL IS STIFF AND HAS FLAT SPOTS IN IT. PEOPLE AT DEALER SHIP SAID CHECK POWER STEERING RESERVOIR, AND MY TRUCK IS ALL ELECTRICAL. THE STIFFNESS COMES AND GOES. AND THE STEERING WHEEL HAS A SQUEAKING SOUND EVERY TIME I TURN. IT DOES IT EVER TIME I DRIVE AND WHEN I AM STATIONARY AS WELL.

2015 RAM 1500. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ILLUMINATED ABS LIGHT. *LD *JS
55K MILES ON TRUCK. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. PULLED ERROR CODE P0463 WHICH INDICATED AN ISSUE WITH FUEL LEVEL SENSOR. LIGHT WENT OUT AFTER A FEW ENGINE STARTS. TODAY THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES BACK ON, FUEL GAUGE GOES TO EMPTY (EVEN THOUGH IT HAS 3/4 OF A TANK, AND A FUEL LEVEL SENSORS FAILURE MESSAGE DISPLAYS ON THE DASH. AN INTERNET SEARCH FOUND THAT THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM WITH THE 2014+ RAMS. THE FUEL SENDER WEARS A LINE ON THE SENSOR AND THE CONTACTS NOT LONGER MAKE CONTACT. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. THE FIX INVOLVES DRAINING THE TANK, PULLING THE BED ON THE TRUNK AND REPLACEMENT OF EITHER THE COMPLETE FUEL PUMP OR THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR. COST ESTIMATES ARE $575 AND ON UP. THIS IS RIDICULOUS FOR A TRUCK THAT'S ONLY 3YRS OLD AND 55K MILES. I HAVE A 1979 MERCURY BOBCAT AND THE GAS GAUGE STILL WORKS ON IT. THIS IS JUST A POORLY DESIGNED PART THAT CAUSES PREMATURE FAILURE.
I HAVE A 2015 DODGE RAM 1500 AND I HAVE A PROBLEM WHERE I'LL GO TO START MY VEHICLE AND THE POWER STEERING JUST LOCKS UP UNTIL MY TRANSMISSION REACHES 180*F I BELIEVE THE ISSUE MIGHT BE THE STEERING COLUMN BECAUSE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED AND LOWERED I THINK IT CAUSED TOO MUCH STRESS TO THE U JOINTS OR SOMETHING HAPPENED. I DON'T KNOW WHY THE FCA WILL NOT REPORT THIS AS A RECALL BECAUSE I TOOK IT TO A DODGE DEALER AND 100+ CARS ARE IN THERE FOR THE SAME REASON EVEN STATE POLICE CARS .

THE DEALER HAD TO REPLACE THE CLOCKSPRING DUE TO PROBLEMS WITH THE HORN, AIRBAG AND STEERING/ELECTRICAL. THIS WAS THE SAME PROBLEM FOR 2012-2014 RAM 1500S THAT WERE RECALLED, MILEAGE FOR THE TRUCK IS ABOUT 65000. COST FOR FIXING IT WAS 762.67. IT IS SIMILAR TO NHTSA ID NUMBER: 11065676 THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE LIGHTS ON THE STEERING WHEEL DID NOT ILLUMINATE AND THE HORN STOPPED WORKING. CHAPMAN DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM OF SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA (3800 N 89TH ST, 85251) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REQUESTED THAT THE VEHICLE BE BROUGHT IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 41,500.

TRUCKS FRONT FRAME WAS WRINKLED AND BUMPER SNAPPED IN HALF. WHILE STEPPING ON THE BRAKES SEAT BELTS NEVER LOCKED.

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR COMPRESSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE AIR BAG COMPRESSOR SYSTEM MAY NEED TO BE DISABLED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SUSPENSION HAD AN AIR BAG THAT WAS OPERATED BY THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND THE REAR SUSPENSION AIR BAG FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
FCA AS THE PARENT COMPANY TO RAM BRANDS HAS ISSUED A RECALL R51 FOR A KNOWN ISSUE RELATED TO THE RAM 1500 ECODIESEL USING A 3.0L VM MOTORI DIESEL MOTOR. THE RECALL IS INTENDED TO COVER ALL ECODIESEL MOTORS WITH A BLOCK HEATER. ALL VM MOTORI ENGINES ARE EQUIPPED FROM THE FACTORY WITH A BLOCK HEATER. HOWEVER, ONLY SOME TRUCKS WERE SHIPPED WITH A FACTORY INSTALLED HEATER BLOCK CABLE, AND ONLY THOSE WITH THE CABLE CODE WERE FLAGGED WITH THE RECALL. HOWEVER, ALL ECODIESEL MOTORS SUFFER FROM THE SAME ISSUE LISTED IN THE RECALL RELATING TO COLD WEATHER OPERATION BELOW AMBIENT FREEZING TEMPERATURES. AFTER CONTACTING FCA, I WAS INSTRUCTED TO CONTACT NHTSA TO SEE ABOUT GETTING MY VIN NUMBER INSERTED INTO THE RECALL, AS ALL ECODIESEL MOTORS IN THIS RANGE SOLD IN AREAS FREQUENTLY BELOW FREEZING REQUIRE IT. THE FUEL SENSOR GOES OUT. IT SEEMS FCA KNOWS OF THIS BUT NOT DOING MUCH TO FIXING IT. COMPLAINTS ON UTUBE ALSO. IT WON'T START IN SELF-STARTING, FUEL GAUGE STAYS ON EMPTY, AND MAINTAINS A ENGINE PROBLEM. CAN RUN OUT OF GAS ON THE HIGHWAY IF NOT FIXED. CAN COST UP $1000.00. IT HAPPENED AT 36, 499, JUST OVER THE WARRANTY.
WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, THE TRUCK LOST ALL POWER AND I STARTED COASTING TO A STOP. WHILE SLOWING DOWN, A LOUD CLICKING SOUND CAME FROM THE ENGINE BAY AND I GOT A "LOW OIL PRESSURE" WARNING MESSAGE ON THE DASH. AS I WAS COASTING TO A STOP, SMOKE STARTED POURING OUT OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND WAS COMING INTO THE CAB THROUGH THE VENTS. IT SMELLED LIKE COOLANT. I CHECKED THE OIL LEVEL AND IT WAS GOOD. ALL GAUGES WERE IN NORMAL TEMPERATURE RANGES. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, AND IT IS STILL UNDER POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE OIL CHANGED ON TIME. THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THE EGR (EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION) COOLER FAILED. THEY SAID IT LEAKED INTO THE INTAKE AND THE INTAKE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AS WELL FOR A TOTAL COST OF ABOUT $4500. RAM SAID THAT THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER IT, WHICH IS ABSURD BECAUSE THE TWO PARTS ARE BOLTED TO THE ENGINE AND NECESSARY FOR IT TO RUN. EGR COOLER FAILURES ARE VERY COMMON ON RAM 1500 ECODIESELS, ALTHOUGH RAM DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE.
ENGINE IN THE TRUCK FAILED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, STARTED LOUDLY KNOCKING AND LOST POWER, BY THE TIME I WAS ABLE TO GET PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER THE CAB OF THE TRUCK FILLED WITH SMOKE, THE SMOKE IN THE CAB WAS THICK ENOUGH THAT IT WAS DIFFICULT TO SEE. EYES WERE WATERING AND WAS DIFFICULT TO BREATH, THE SMOKE WAS COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD OF THE TRUCK. I NEVER SAW FLAMES BUT THOUGHT TRUCK WAS ON FIRE DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF SMOKE SO I HAD MY FAMILY EXIT THE TRUCK AS SOON AS WE WERE SAFELY ON THE SHOULDER OUT OF TRAFFIC. THE SMOKE EVENTUALLY STOPPED. THE DEALER THAT THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO BY ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE INDICATED THAT THERE WERE CURRENTLY MORE THAN 60 ENGINES ON BACK ORDER IN THE US WITH NO ESTIMATED DELIVERY TIME ON A REPLACEMENT. THERE ARE A LARGE AMOUNT OF THESE ECO DIESEL ENGINES FAILING AND SOME VEHICLES ARE CATCHING ON FIRE DUE TO THE ENGINE FAILURE CAUSING OIL TO LEAK ONTO THE EXHAUST AND IGNITING. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. ALSO, THE POWER STEERING MALFUNCTIONED WHEN THE CONTACT PERFORMED A COLD START. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED SINCE IT HAD AN INTERNAL SHORT. THE MANUFACTURER REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE CONTACT HAD AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT IT DID NOT COVER THE POWER STEERING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.
AM GETTING A P203E ERROR MESSAGE. TOOK IT TO DEALER. THERE IS A DEFECTIVE LEVEL SENSOR LOCATED INSIDE THE TANK. PROBLEM IS ITS A SEALED TANK WITH NO ACCESS ONLY WAY TO FIX IS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE TANK, PUMP AND SENSOR. VERY BAD DESIGN FLAW. $2600 TO REPLACE. MESSAGE IS SAYING ENGINE WILL FAIL TO START AFTER 500 MILES. THE DEF PUMP IS WORKING CORRECTLY BUT THE ENGINE THINKS ITS ALMOST EMPTY.
POWER STEERING IS FAILING LIKE THE RECALL 16V167000 WHICH INCLUDES 2015 RAM 1500'S HOWEVER MINE IS NOT SHOWING IT TO BE INCLUDED. AT LOW SPEED THE STEERING IS STFFING AND BECOMING DIFFICULT TO TURN. MILEAGE IS UNDER 25000.

SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS HEMI MOTOR. TRUCK HAS 136000 MILES, OUT OF WARRENTY. WAS ALSO TOLD THAT WHEN REPLACEMENT LIFTERS DO COME IN THEY ARE THE SAME, NOT FIXED, NOT UPGRADED, SO THE SAME THING CAN HAPPEN AGAIN. WHAT DO I DO WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR 4-6 MONTHS?

YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT'S GOING TO TIGHTEN UP. WE JUST BOUGHT THE TRUCK IN SEPTEMBER 2018 AND ALREADY HAVING ISSUES. IT HAS 73,000 MILES ON IT. IF THE PAST RECALL FOR STEERING WAS EVER FIXED, IT'S BROKE AGAIN AND NEEDS REPLACED.
