MY RAM TRUCK SHIFTED FROM DRIVE TO PARK WHILE TRAVELING AT 40 MPH. WHEN THE TRUCK SHIFTED TO PARK IT SLID TO A STOP AFTER IT VEERED RIGHT AND WENT UP ON THE SIDE WALK MISSING A PEDESTRIAN AND PHONE POLL. CHRYSLER, MILE ONE, AND HALL CHRYSLER JEEP IN VIRGINIA BEACH ARE DOING NOTHING TO HELP ME OUT OF THIS TRUCK. THE TRUCK IS ONLY 19 DAYS OLD WITH 1000 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF INCIDENT. THE TRUCK WAS MOST CERTAINLY MOVING AND I WAS LUCKY I HAD JUST LEFT THE INTERSTATE. I'VE ASKED TO HAVE THE TRUCK BOUGHT BACK SO I CAN BUY A DIFFERENT TRUCK FROM ANOTHER MANUFACTURER. THE TRUCK HAD A DAMAGED COMPUTER AND MELTED TRANSMISSION SENSOR SWITCH ONCE INSPECTED BY DODGE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,900.

IN ADDITION, AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE, THE DOORS LOCKED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000.

IN ADDITION, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE LAUNCHED FORWARD EXTREMELY FAST WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR DRIVER SIDE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A FRACTURE TO THE T12 VERTEBRAE IN HIS MID BACK THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V534000 (AIR BAGS). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000.

I WORK AT MARYSVILLE AXLE PLANT , MARYSVILLE MI ,THEY HAVE HAD A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE REAR AXLE CATCHING FIRE DUE TO AXLE SHAFT BEING TIGHT AT THE BEARING CAUSING THE BEARING JOURNAL RUBBING ON THE BEARING DURING VEHICLE OPERATION CAUSING FIRE ,I HAVE BEEN TOLD OF 4 VEHICLES CATCHING FIRE BY MY SUPERVISOR , THEY ARE TEARING APART AXLES AT AN OFF SITE WAREHOUSE NEAR THE AXLE SHAFT SUPPLIER IN CORUNNA MI , I DON'T KNOW WHO THEY ARE USING TO DO THIS WORK OR IF THEY ARE EVEN QUALIFIED TO DO IT. I HAVE BUILT THESE AXLES FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND THERE IS A LOT TO REBUILDING THEM INCLUDING AIR TESTING FOR LEAKS , THIS PLANT IN MARYSVILLE MI IS RUN BY ZF AND ALL WHO WORK HERE ARE LEASED FCA EMPLOYEES ON PLANT FLOOR,I HAVE NOT SEEN ANYTHING AS FAR AS A RECALL AND I FEEL THIS IS VERY SERIOUS AS THE REAR AXLE IS NEAR THE FUEL TANK AND I FEEL THEY ARE TRYING TO HIDE THIS BY DOING ALL REPAIR OFF SITE AND NOT HAVE TO ANNOUNCE A RECALL AS I HAVE BEEN TOLD THOUSANDS HAVE TO BE REPAIRED PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS LIGHTLY AS I FEEL ITS VERY IMPORTANT YOU FOLLOW THRU WITH AN INVESTIGATION , THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THE PAST 3 WEEKS , THANKS FOR YOUR VALUABLE TIME.

A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WAS ONE INJURY REPORTED THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
2015 RAM 1500 SPORT 4X2 - WHEN TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS ABOVE 65 MPH, THE REAR END BEGINS TO VIBRATE/SHAKE TO THE POINT CONTROLLING THE VEHICLE BECOMES A CONCERN. IF YOU SLOW DOWN IT GOES AWAY BUT THEN COMES RIGHT BACK WHEN GOING 65 OR OVER AGAIN. VIBRATION IS FELT IN THE SEAT BUT NOT THE STEERING WHEEL OR PEDALS. WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP ON 9/11 AND TIRES WERE RE-BALANCED. DEALERSHIP STATED THAT FIXED THE ISSUE WHEN IT DID NOT. GOING BACK TO DEALERSHIP ON 9/28 TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AGAIN. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED BY MANY AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED BEFORE SOMEONE LOSES CONTROL OF THEIR RAM VEHICLE AND CRASHES. IF I WERE TO HIT A BUMP IT WOULD BE VERY EASY TO LOSE CONTROL DUE TO THE HORRIBLE VIBRATION.
MY RADIO SCREEN WENT BLACK WHERE YOU COULD SEE NOTHING ON IT NO MATTER WHAT CONTROLLERS YOU TRIED TO SWITCH. THIS HAPPENED ALMOST ON EVERY TRIP. THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT ON WAS TO PULL OVER AND LET THE VEHICLE STAND FOR A LITTLE BIT UNTIL IT COOLS DOWN, THEN IT WOULD TURN BACK ON. BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD THAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN RELATED TO THE RADIO SECURITY RECALL. GOT THE RADIO SOFTWARE UPDATED. THE PROBLEM DID NOT COMPLETELY DISAPPEAR. THE RADIO SCREEN LIGHT STARTED DIMMING FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, AND THEN GETTING BRIGHTER. OFF AND ON, NO MATTER WHAT TIME OF DAY AND HOW DARK OR BRIGHT IT IS OUTSIDE. IT IS VERY DISTRACTING ESPECIALLY WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. I ADDRESSED THE PROBLEM AT THE DEALERSHIP BUT THEY TOLD ME IT DOES THAT FOR SAFETY REASONS. WONDER WHY IT DIDN'T HAPPEN TO THE RENTAL TRUCK THAT THEY HAD ME DRIVE WHILE MY TRUCK WAS IN THE SHOP?? ANOTHER ISSUE I HAD WAS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON FOR A FULL DAY. CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID THAT THEY DID NOT GET ANY SIGNAL OR A MALFUNCTION CODE. AT THE END OF THE DAY IN TURNED OFF.
IT WAS EARLY IN THE MORNING (0430), I GOT CALLED INTO WORK, THE WINOWS IN THE TRUCK WERE FOGGED UP, SO I TURNEDON MY REAR WINDOW DE-FROSTER AND FRONT WINDOW DE-FROSTER. AS I TURNED THE CORNER OUT OF NEIGHBORHOOD (LESS THAN 1/2 MILE) I HEARD A LOUD BANG AND I THOUGHT I HIT SOMETHING. I STOPPED THE TRUCK AND GOT OUT TO INSPECT IT, AFTER SEEING THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE BODY I LOOKED UP AND SAW A LARGE HOLE IN MY DRIVER'S SIDE REAR WINDOW THE SIZE OF A GRAPEFRUIT. AS I WAS INSPECTING THE WINDOW I TOUCHED THE LOWER LEFT CORNER AND BURNDED MY FINGER. IT WAS LIKE TOUCHING A LIGHT BULB THAT IS ON. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED THE DE-FROSTER OFF AND CHECKED THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW AND IT WAS AT A NORMAL TEMPERATURE.
VIBRATIONS WHILE DRIVING ,NOTICEABLE IN PASSENGER SEAT, 50MPH TO 80MPH MAINLY ,SOMETIMES AT LOWER TORQUE UPHILL OR AROUND CONES 50MPH BELOW, NOTE ALL TIRES ,WHEEL BALANCED RE ROAD FORCED AND NEW REPLACEMENT TIRES , STILL VIBRATES, CURRENT ODO 6 000 MILES.
THE TRIM OF THE CENTER CONSOLE IS MADE OF A MATERIAL THAT REFLECTS LIGHT SO MUCH, THAT IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT IT IS REFLECTED INTO THE DRIVERS EYES. I HAVE HAD TO PUT A TOWEL OVER THE TRIM TO KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING. ON BRIGHT DAYS IT IS ACTUALLY BLINDING.
NEW TRUCK. LEFT DEALER AND DRIVE APPROXIMATELY 100 MILES. STOPPED AT A GAS STATION TO TOP IT OFF. PUMP SHUT OFF WHEN IT WAS FULL. SQUEEZED THE PUMP NOZZLE AGAIN, LIKE I HAVE ALWAYS DONE TO ROUND OUT THE DOLLAR AMOUNT, AND FUEL GURGLED OUT OF THE FILLER NECK AND RAN DOWN THE SIDE OF THE TRUCK. SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE STATED THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO THEM ALSO ON VARIOUS YEAR RAMS AND THEY JUST GOT USED TO NOT SQUEEZING THE NOZZLE A SECOND TIME. THIS TRUCK IS EQUIPPED WITH THE 32 GALLON GAS TANK. I NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM ON MY 2012 RAM WITH THE 22 GALLON TANK.
THE TRUCK SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING,AND MUST BE MANUALLY GUIDED TO SAFETY SO THAT THE VEHICLE CAN BE RESTARTED. THIS OCCURRED THREE TIMES ON THIS DATE AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY. THE TRUCK DID SHUT OFF FOR THEM AS WELL DURING THEIR TESTING. THE TRUCK IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE NO EXPLANATION AS TO THE CAUSE OF THE TRUCK TURNING OFF WHILE DRIVING.
2015 DODGE RAM LARAMIE, 4X4 WITH ECO DIESEL MOTOR. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE TRUCK BEGINS TO VIBRATE, 65 MPH AND GREATER. THE VIBRATION APPEARS TO ORIGINATE IN THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE, AS SPEED INCREASES THE VIBRATION INCREASES. WHEN THE ROAD BECOMES ROUGH (I.E. POTHOLE ON I95) CONTROL BECOMES AN ISSUE DUE TO THE VIBRATION. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALER, AND DEALER REPLACED TIRES. PROBLEM IS STILL PERSISTENT AND SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. TRUCK NOW HAS 1000 MILES ON IT AND IS BACK TO THE DEALER AGAIN FOR DIAGNOSTIC, AND REPAIR. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THE TRUCK HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE DEALER AND THEY ARE CURRENTLY UNSURE OF WHAT THE ISSUE MAY BE. I HAVE TAKEN VIDEO OF THE MY CHILD'S CAR SEAT IN THE BACK OF THE TRUCK SHAKING FROM THE VIBRATION AND PRESENTED IT TO THE DEALER TO HELP DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE. FAMILY DOES NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE AND IF THIS PROBLEM EXISTS IN OTHER LIKE MODELS VEHICLES IT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER AS IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN FOR CONSUMERS AND OTHER MOTORISTS.
BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2015 DODGE RAM 1500, THE FIRST WEEK I HAD AN ISSUE WITH ONE OF THE WINDOWS NOT GOING BACK UP, ABOUT A MONTH LATER I WAS DRIVING AND THE NEW KNOB SHIFTER, WENT INTO NEUTRAL BY ITSELF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. MEANT TO TAKE IT IN, BUT HAD BEEN SO BUSY WITH WORK, THAT I WAS GOING TO WAIT UNTIL THE FIRST OIL CHANGE. I NOTED THOSE TWO ISSUES ON AN EMAIL REVIEW/SURVEY THAT DODGE HOUNDED ME TO FILL OUT. EXACTLY TWO MONTHS AFTER OWNING THE TRUCK ON JULY 28TH, THE SAME DAY I MADE MY SECOND PAYMENT, I WAS AT THE GARAGE AT WORK, LEFT THE TRUCK ON AND PUT IT IN PARK, GOT OUT OF THE CAR, CLOSED THE DOOR AND AS I WAS GETTING READY TO GO AROUND THE TRUCK TO GO INSIDE MY JOB, THE CAR STARTED TO BACK OUT BY ITSELF, I TRIED GETTING BACK INTO THE TRUCK TO STOP IT BUT UNFORTUNATELY, I FAILED, THE TRUCK ALMOST RAN ME OVER. THANKFULLY A CEMENT BEAM STOPPED THIS FROM HAPPENING.
VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY DISPLAYED AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ON INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD TURN ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES DURING SINGLE TRIP; OTHERS IT WOULD NOT TURN ON (OR OFF IF ILLUMINATED AT START). VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AUGUST 8, 2015. DEALER FOUND NO ISSUE. UPON PICKING VEHICLE UP AND STARTING, AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ON. IMMEDIATELY RETURNED TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHERE TECH FOUND FRAYED WIRING IN THE PASSENGER SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG. AIR BAG ASSEMBLY AND WIRING TO BE REPLACED AT A LATER, BUT STILL UNDETERMINED, DATE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE DRIVESHAFT BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. AFTER RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING; HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE DRIVESHAFT WAS DISENGAGED AND ROTATED TO 180 DEGREES AND THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 159. UPDATE 9/15/15*CW
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AXLE AND OTHER RELATED COMPONENTS COMPLETELY DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO TRAVEL OUT OF THE LANE INDEPENDENTLY AND SIDE SWIPE ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AND CAME TO A STOP AS THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE COLLAPSED TO THE GROUND. THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE TIRES WERE POSITIONED INWARDLY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO BOTH KNEES, BUT MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. UPDATED 10/06/15*LJ UPDATED 12/13/2017*CN
WHILE MERGING INTO THE LEFT LANE ON A FOUR LANE HIGHWAY, MY STEERING LOCKED UP AND JERKED MY TRUCK FURTHER LEFT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO CORRECT IT AND BARELY AVOIDED AN HEAD ON COLLISION. I WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT IT'S THE EPA POWER CONTROL CIRCUIT BOARD OR THE ESP GEAR BOX. DEALERSHIP TELLS ME THERE'S NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED BY THIS DEFAULT IN THE POWER STEERING. THE TRUCK IS ONLY ONE YEAR OLD. HOW COULD SOMETHING THIS CRITICAL TO SAFETY SIMPLY GO OUT ALREADY. SOMEONE PLEASE PLEASE DO SOMETHING TO HELP US CONSUMERS, FOR THE SAKE OF ALL OUR SAFETY. ALSO I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH, MERGING LEFT, I WAS JERKED PROBABLY 10 TO 15 FT, ENOUGH THAT I WAS PUT INTO THE OTHER LANE. IT HAS CONTINUED TO DO THIS RANDOMLY CAUSING ME TO ALMOST CRASH SEVERAL TIMES. I HAVE NOW PARKED THE TRUCK UNTIL FURTHER INVESTIGATION FROM MY MECHANIC OR DODGE DEALERSHIP. IT'LL HAVE TO BE TOWED FOR FEAR OF ME CRASHING.
I HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK FOR SEVERAL MONTHS WITH NO ISSUES AND I HAVE NOT DRIVEN WHEN IT HAS BEEN DARK OUTSIDE. BUT ON THIS OCCASION IT WAS NIGHT AND I NOTICED THE HEADLIGHTS WERE EXTREMELY DIM AND SEEMED TO BE ADJUSTED TO LOW SO STOPPED FOUND THE LEVEL ADJUSTMENT FOR THE HEAD LIGHTS AND MADE AN ADJUSTMENT WHICH RAISED THEM BUT MADE LITTLE OR NO DIFFERENCE. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND IT IS A WELL KNOWN ISSUES AND IS ONE OF THE FIRST UPGRADES DONE... AMAZINGLY LIKE MYSELF ON NEW TRUCKS... I THEN WENT AND PURCHASED A COMPLETE SET OF SYLVANIA SILVER STAR ULTRA LOW AND HIGH BEAM AND FOG LIGHT REPLACEMENTS. THAT COMPLETELY CURED THE ISSUE. NOW I HAVE LIGHTS THAT WORK AND ARE SAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT I HAVE ALSO MADE RAM AWARE THROUGH AN EMAIL. I REALIZE PROFIT MARGINS ARE DRIVING FORCE TODAY BUT THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED
ONLY HAD THE NEW 2015 RAM 1500 LARAMIE FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS WHEN THE FIRST OCCURANCE OF 3 SO FAR HAPPENED. WHEN TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY AND I BACK OFF THE GAS TO CRUISING SPEED THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES EXTREMELY HARD AND THROUGHOUT THE DRIVE TRAIN VIOLANTENTLY FEELING LIKE I'M LOSING CONTROL. EXTREMELY SCARY AND THE TRUCK ONLY HAD ABOUT 400 MILES ON IT WHEN I PURCHASED IT ABOUT A MONTH AGO. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT FOR AUTONATION TO LOOK AT IT AUGUST 4TH. IT WAS PURCHASED FROMTOWN & COUNTRY IN WENACHEE WA. THE ISSUES WAS REPORTED TO TOWN & COUNTRY WHEN I WENT IN TO HAVE THE BED LINER SPRAYED.
PURCHASED VEHICLE BRAND NEW. STEERING OF VEHICLE HAS BEEN OFF AND DRIFTS TO THE LEFT. TOOK TO DEALER TWO TIMES THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. HAVE A CURRENT APPOINTMENT ON 10/16/15 THIS WILL BE THIRD VISIT. UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITION ESPECIALLY WHEN TOWING WITH THE TRUCK.
I HAD STANDARD HEADLIGHT, 9012 HALOGEN, AND LIVING OUT IN THE COUNTRY THE LIGHTING IS VERY POOR, I HAVE TOO USE MY FOG LIGHTS TO SEE APPROPRIATELY, I TRIED TO CHANGE IT TO SILVERSTAR ULTRA HIGH PERFORMANCE HALOGEN HEADLIGHT, AND STILL NO IMPROVEMENT, ALSO CAUSES THE AUTO HEADLIGHT NO TO FUNCTION ANYMORE. THIS TRUCK COST OVER 50K, AND THE LIGHTING IS VERY POOR.

MY WIFE AND I WERE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE BRAKES WERE AUTOMATICALLY DEPLOYED A FEW TIMES WITHOUT TOUCHING THEM. THIS HAPPENED THREE TIMES AND THE THIRD TIME WAS TWO DAYS AGO AND WE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE INTO CHRYSLER JEEP RAM IN ALHAMBRA, CA TO BE EXAMINED. THEY TEST DROVE IT AND EXAMINED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE AN AUTOMATIC BREAKING MECHANISM AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. EACH TIME OF THE BREAKING, THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT ON AND WE DO NOT BELIEVE WE EVEN HAD THE FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. WE FEEL THIS IS A SERIOUS LIFE SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO. THEY WON'T REPLACE IT UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE THEY SAY WE MODIFIED IT BY WRAPPING A PIECE OF HEAVY DUTY WIRE AROUND THE BOLT FOR POWER IN THE TIPM. SERVICE PEOPLE STATED TWICE THAT IF WE REMOVED THE WIRE, IT WOULD PUT THE TRUCK BACK TO FACTORY CONDITION AND IT WOULD BE FIXED UNDER THE WARRANTY. IT HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE SERVICE CENTER TWICE AND THEY STILL REFUSE TO FIX THE TRUCK UNDER WARRANTY. THE WIRE IS A TEMPORARY SOLUTION TO KEEP THE TRUCK RUNNING AND HAS COME LOOSE ON OCCASION WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT THAT WE DON'T FEEL WE SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR.
TRUCK HAS BEEN IN SHOP FROM 5/20/2015 THROUGH 6/19/2014; 3/20/2015 THROUGH 3/20/2015; 7/10/2015 THROUGH 7/17/2015; AND CURRENTLY IN SHOP 10/13/2015 THROUGH CURRENT DATE AND TIME. ENGINE HAS BEEN REPLACED AND IT IS LEAKING OIL FROM AN UNKNOWN LOCATION. SERVICE HAS STATED TO HAVE CHECKED EVERY POSSIBILITY SOURCE LOCATION FOR THE, ON AVERAGE 1.5 TO 2 QUARTS OIL, LOW RESULTING IN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND STILL AFTER ENGINE REPLACEMENT.

DEALERSHIP STATES PROBLEM WITH GOODYEAR WRANGLED SR-A TIRES. NEW TIRES INSTALLED AND SAME PROBLEM EXIST. MECHANICAL PROBLEM SUSPECTED WITH VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH DEALERSHIP STATES THERE IS NONE. I HAVE PAID OUTSIDE SHOPS TO CHECK TIRES AND NO ISSUES REPORTED. TWO OTHER OWNERS HAVE STATED THEY ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH OTHER BRAND TIRES. DEALERSHIP DOES NOT WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE A MECHANICAL ISSUE. SAFETY AND WARRANTY COMPLIANCE NEEDED ON THESE MODEL TRUCKS. THE INNER FENDER MADE OUT OF METAL WITH A HARD PLASTIC SHROUD ON PREVIOUS YEARS, HAS BEEN ELIMINATED. IN ITS PLACE THERE IS NOW A FLIMSY THIN PLASTIC SHROUD THAT CAN BE BENT AND DEFORMED BY HAND AND REMOVED BY HAND WITH A COUPLE OF HEALTHY TUGS. THIS MEMBRANE IS THE ONLY PROTECTION PROVIDED FOR ABS COMPONENTS, A/C AND POWER STEERING HOSES, AND NUMEROUS OTHER COMPONENTS FOUND UNDER THE HOOD. WHEN DRIVING ESPECIALLY DRIVING OFF ROAD, THERE ARE NUMEROUS HAZARDS AND ITEMS THAT CAN BE PICKED UP BY THE TIRES AND FLUNG INSIDE THE WHEEL WELL. ON PREVIOUS YEAR MODELS THERE HAS BEEN A FORMED METAL INNER FENDER THAT WAS STOUT ENOUGH TO RESIST NUMEROUS ITEMS THAT MAY BE TOSSED INTO THE WHEEL WELL OR INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WAS ALSO A THICK PLASTIC SHROUD THAT COVERED THE METAL OF THE INNER FENDER, PERHAPS AS AN ADDITIONAL PROTECTION AGAINST RUST. NONE OF THAT EXISTS IN THE CURRENT 2015 RAM 1500 MODEL. THIS IS EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS SINCE A LIGHT ITEM, STICK, OR ROCK CAN BE THROWN INTO THE WHEEL WELL AND WILL PUNCH EASILY THRU THE THIN PLASTIC MEMBRANE. ADDITIONALLY A HEAVIER OR LONGER ITEM CAN BE THROWN INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT OR STEERING COMPONENTS CAUSING SOMETHING TO JAM AND LIMITING THE ABILITY TO STEER SAFELY. MY VEHICLE HAS HAD A VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS BETWEEN 65-75 MPH SINCE I PURCHASED IT. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE SELLING DEALERSHIP TWICE, THE FIRST TIME THEY REPORTED 2 OF THE TIRES WERE BAD AND WERE REPLACED. I TOOK IT BACK A SECOND TIME FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT DETECT A VIBRATION OR FIND ANYTHING WHICH COULD BE CAUSING ONE. THE PROBLEM PERSISTED SO I TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP. THEY BALANCED THE TIRES, ROTATED THEM AND CLAIMED THE PROBLEM HAD BEEN RESOLVED. THE PROBLEM HAD NOT BEEN RESOLVED AND IF ANYTHING HAS GOTTEN WORSE AFTER THE THIRD ATTEMPT TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. I HAVE SEEN THIS ISSUE REPORTED BY OTHERS. I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE AT SERVICING DEALERSHIPS 3 TIMES AND 2 SEPARATE INDEPENDENT NATIONAL TIRE CHAINS AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTS.

I BROUGHT THIS TSB I FOUND HERE ON NHTSA ID NUMBER 10056977 SERVICE BULLETIN NO. 16-001-14 TO THIER ATTENTION THEY SAY THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THAT TSB I AM VERY CONCERNED BECAUSE AFTER SOME RESEARCH ON MY OWN IT SEEMS THERE ARE A GROWING NUMBER OF 2015 1500'S WITH THIS SAME ISSUE. WHEN I RETURNED HOME I BROUGHT THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER I PURCHASED IT FROM AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE WORKING AS DESIGNED, WHICH BY NOW I KNOW IT WAS A BAD DESIGN. I HAD DECIDED TO CHANGE MY OIL MYSELF FOR THE TRUCK'S SECOND OIL CHANGE BECAUSE I WANTED TO USE AMS OIL. I BOUGHT THE FILTER FROM A LOCAL PARTS STORE BECAUSE AMS DID NOT OFFER ONE. I BEGAN TO DRAIN THE OIL AND THEN REMOVED THE OLD FILTER. AFTER IT DRAINED FOR 20 MINUTES I INSTALLED THE NEW FILTER AND OILED THE NEW O-RING AND INSTALLED IT ON THE FACTORY CAP AND TORQUED IT TO 20 FOOT POUNDS. I POURED THE 6 QUARTS OF NEW OIL IN THE ENGINE, WARMED IT UP AND SHUT IT DOWN. I THEN CHECKED THE FILTER FOR LEAKS AND CHECKED MY OIL LEVEL. EVERYBODY SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHANGE THEIR OWN OIL RIGHT? WELL I GUESS THAT'S NOT TRUE WITH THIS TRUCK ACCORDING TO THE DEALER SERVICE CENTER. IT WAS ABOUT 3000 MILES LATER WHEN I WAS AT WORK AND NOTICED A PUDDLE OF OIL UNDER THE TRUCK. I LOOKED UNDERNEATH AND THE BOTTOM OF THE TRANSMISSION AND OTHER PARTS WERE COATED WITH OIL. I CHECKED THE LEVEL AND NOTHING REGISTERED ON THE DIP STICK SO I HAD MY NEW TRUCK TOWED TO THE DEALER. THEY TOLD ME THAT I DIDN'T USE OEM PARTS AND I'M NOT QUALIFIED TO CHANGE MY OWN OIL AND THAT IS WHY OIL WAS GUSHING ALL OVER THE TOP OF MY ENGINE! THE TRUCK IS AN ECODIESEL. THIS IS A REPLACEMENT TRUCK FROM A BUYBACK ON A 2014. BOTH TRUCKS ARE THE SAME, ONE 2014 AND ONE 2015. IN COLD WEATHER THEY FAIL TO START. BETWEEN THE TWO TRUCKS THEY HAVE BEEN TOWED A TOTAL OF 4 TIMES. ONE TRUCK HAD 2800 MILES THE OTHER 768. BEEN OUT OF SERVICE 9 WEEKS. NEITHER TRUCK WILL START AFTER DRIVEN ON A TRIP OVER 30 MINUTES AND IN COLD WEATHER. THE NON START CONDITION IS INTERMITTENT AND NOT PREDICTABLE. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 DODGE RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL LEVEL WAS NOT RECEIVING THE CORRECT MPG. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE RETAINED LESS THAN 14 MPG VERSUS 17 MPG AND 22 MPG ON THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER OVER THREE TIMES AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,300.
