NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2018 Ram 1500. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
Occasionally after driving 15-30 minutes my dash gives me a quick "auto park brake disengaged" notification and my speedometer goes to 0 while I'm driving, then everything goes back to normal. (Event happens approximately every 3rd to 5th time I drive the vehicle) An additional event has occurred after driving a while my entire dash and screen will blackout as well. I've researched the internet and found that numerous people have the same issue or similar. I've gone to Dealerships and get no help whatsoever, they act like I'm wasting there time and basically ignore me, they said since I can't make the issue happen they can't look at it. I've read the same responses across the internet by other 2018 Ram 1500 owners, it's obvious we don't have a voice to this safety concern. Please look into this matter before someone gets hurt. I've owned the truck for approximately 2 months, I bought it from a dealership, the truck is in excellent condition with no major repairs. Definitely an electrical/computer issue.
Magnetic tone wheel. Driving on the interstate and the truck stalled and would not restart. Had to get it towed.
The contact owns a 2018 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and turning the steering wheel to the left or the right, the power steering functionality was inoperable. The contact needed to use both hands to turn the steering wheel. The steering wheel would continuously turn in the opposite direction. The steering wheel was extremely difficult to turn. The service power steering message was displayed. The contact viewed a video regarding the lower steering shaft u joint. The contact used a tester and checked the fuses. The contact called the local dealer and was informed that a diagnostic test was needed and that the repair would be an out-of-pocket expense. Additionally, the contact was informed that the vehicle was out of warranty and there was no recall associated with the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 99,899.
Crank no start and vehicle stops running.
When fueling my vehicle, whether my tank is empty or half full, the pump clicks off as it would if my tank was full. It can take 1/2 hour to get $10.00 worth of gas in my 33 gallon tank. The pump either stops or the gas bubbles up and spills all over my truck, on me and on the ground. If this were to happen and there was a lit cigarette on the ground or an open flame, a serious life threatening incident could occur. I spoke with someone in the parts department at Bedard Brothers Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and he informed me that it’s on “The Bulletin” of potential problems with this vehicle but there’s no recall for it and there should be. I bought my truck in April 2024 and was not informed of this issue and now, as I live in New England where the winters are harsh, I find myself standing in the freezing cold trying to fuel my truck and my family is in the vehicle freezing because it it unsafe and illegal to let it run while I'm fueling it.
The contact owns a 2018 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at speeds above 80 MPH, the vehicle started to shake, the engine overheated, and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer and was diagnosed with a faulty battery. The battery was replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed to a second dealer, but the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 95,000.
The contact owns a 2018 Ram 1500. The contact stated that on several occasions while the vehicle was turned on and while driving at various speeds, the infotainment screen randomly moved to another screen inadvertently without being touched. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the radio needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 56,800.
U connect screen delaminating, and screen has gone blank.
Sudden and complete loss of the electric power steering system. As I was entering a corner the steering wheel felt like it was almost locked, Incredibly hard to steer and barely managed to stay on the road. Had I been going any faster I could have been seriously injured or crashed into other drivers. Unable to fix vehicle as well, the steering rack is unservicable and on national backorder.
The vehicle turns on and off by itself and the radio and ac also started to turn on and switched between hi and low and the radio stations kept switching stations the power lock window buttons in times worked other times it would be stuck and didn't work. The key fob was switched to a new key fob however the problem persist the vehicle came to a sudden stop and shut off in the middle of the highway while driving causing all the electrical system in the vehicle to activate the alarm going off the anti lock brake on and the vehicle lights and vehicle turning on and off. I am concern with my safety and the public safety as this vehicle shut off while I was driving this could have cause a major accident if I were driving at regular high speed in the highway this could have caused total lost of control of the vehicle I had to get it towed to the dealer for service. The dealer fails to conduct a proper electrical diagnosis on the vehicle stating the issue is the key fob which was switch for a new one however this happen same day the key fob was switched which means the key fob was not the issue there is a major electrical issue that needs investigation this vehicle should be off the road or salvage no warning lights prior or after the incident the date it started which was on March 13,2024 the car was brought to service and released on April 3, 2024 and after changing key fob the problem continues and on April 4th the vehicle shut off while driving without warning. The dealer who sold the vehicle can not figure out the issue as a proper diagnosis has not be made by them and they continue to fail to fix the issue.
The contact owns a 2018 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a dealer to be repaired under an unknown NHTSA Campaign Number. The contact stated that the vehicle was involved in a collision with the previous owner and was deemed salvaged. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. It was unknown if the manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 60,000. No further information was available.
Abs and traction control lights on and stop working
Why? since 2022 have I been getting Safety recall notices concerning the HPFP (high pressure fuel pump) on my Ram truck and the dealer says there are no parts available to do the repairs. I have been to 3 dealers since 2022 and all three say the same thing, FCA/Stellantis/Dodge doesn't have the parts. The most recent recall came on [XXX]. Recall notice [XXX] I called Douglas Jeep Dodge Ram in Venice, Florida and was told they can't help me. As of now the Truck has no issues. The rack and pinion steering system has to be replaced on this 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 truck for the second time with less than 80,000 miles on the truck. The steering is very loose and it is hard to keep the truck from weaving while traveling down the highway which makes it very unsafe to drive at high speeds. There are numerous complaints about this issue on these trucks, and there is a recall on other heavy duty Dodge trucks but not this model but there should be a recall. This part will cost over $3,000 to replace, that's over $6,000 dollars for this truck in less that 80,000 miles and 6 years old. This is totally unacceptable for a truck this costly. Dodge Must do something to resolve this issue once and for all. Thank you for your attention to this potentially deadly issue, it will be just a matter of time before numerous accidents will happen because it is unaffordable to fix this problem every 3 years. The part is warrantied for only 2 years but the failure starts happening after that time frame and continues to get worse. My family members wont even drive this truck because of it being so unstable on the road. Please seriously consider this matter as a priority as there are so many of these trucks on the road. Something has to be done very soon. Thank you.
Recall was issued on June 9, 2022. As of today, 3/18/2024, this recall has not been fixed. Dealer claims: "Waiting for parts". Recall letter states: "Fuel starvation may result in an unexpected loss of motive power, which can cause a vehicle to crash without prior warning". Great! Good to know! And they can't fix it! What can you do to help me and many others with this issue? Thanks, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2018 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
The contact owns a 2018 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact noticed a loud popping sound and the vehicle jerked. The vehicle was driven to the place of employment. At the end of the workday, while the contact was driving and approaching a stop sign, the brake pedal was depressed, and the contact heard two loud bangs. Additionally, the vehicle jerked abnormally. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The contact parked the vehicle, and the vehicle was turned off. However, the vehicle rolled backwards. The parking brake was engaged to prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with rear differential failure and the front axle and full rear differential needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed of an unknown NHTSA recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 64,605.
I bought this Dodge truck in 2018 from a certified Dodge Dealership in California. On March [XXX] this year around [XXX] I was driving on the freeway when experienced an engine stall, had to move the vehicle to the shoulder and almost got hit by a semi-truck. Got the car towed to the nearest Dodge dealership where the car was later inspected by a certified service advisor. He stated that the reason for the engine stall was a rod bearing failure. After looking it up on NHTSA's website, I found out that there were 2 open safety recall for this truck which Dodge has failed to notify me about and get it fixed. One of the open safety recall is: 664- LOSS OF CRANKSHAFT POS. Although a failure in the crankshaft position can usually not directly cause damage to the rod bearing, If there is a failure in the crankshaft position sensor, this can lead to synchronization problems in the engine and If these conditions are severe enough and persist for an extended period, they can eventually lead to engine damage, including damage to the rod bearings. I've contacted Dodge directly and they refused to provide any assistance for this matter and closed the case alleging that the truck is past its warranty and there is nothing they can do about it. The cost of repair is over $33k which I absolutely cannot afford to pay. Insurance company won't cover it either because it was a 'mechanical breakdown'. Upon talking to the California Department of Consumer Affairs, they advised me to contact the NHTSA regarding this matter. Thank you so much in advance, I hope you guys can help me fighting this case. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
While driving I heard a noise from the engine there were no warning lights on then I heard a bang and a warning light for the electronic service of the throttle light came on the truck I was driving was on the highway and the truck slowed right down I was barely able to get it off the next exit and was told by the dearlship a rod blew through my engine Block
The contact owns a 2018 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power, and the contact turned off and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel system needed to be replaced. The high-pressure fuel pump was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 113,000.
Been trying since Feb 2024 to get my truck fixed but I call dealer and they take my name and never call bacl
I bought my vehicle 10 months ago the Ram 1500 rebel 2018 without knowing its suspensions issues when the cold weather started my air suspension issues started I wen to the dealer they couldn’t do anything about the price to fix is to much to pay at once out pocket for something much rams rebels go through in this case mine the worst part when I did the oil change and alignment the dealer stated that my suspension was to low to do an alignment I have to fix it first and then do the alignment and now if I don’t fix it I have to drive my car unsafely trough the road when honestly I think is something the manufacturer should fix or give me a discount for it’s manufacturer defect that all rams rebel go trough my front suspension is very low and that’s stoping me to get my alignment i never mistreated my car or even press the air suspension button to lower it it just happened when the cold weather started I think is something the manufacture could help me with or at least give me a discount or recall on the vehicle thank you.
Truck has zero warning lights, zero visible issues, nothing is "wrong" with the truck. However, the truck runs horribly. It is terrifying to drive. Anything over 35mph is scary. It drives like the back wheels are about to come out from under it. The truck violently shakes. Sometimes it accelerates, sometimes not, randomly downshift, random upshifts, random power loss, randomly the breaks stop working. The radio has became such a problem that not only can I not use the radio, i cant use the navigation, back up camera, the apps, climate control, settings, nothing in the control unit. Cant even update it because it wont stay on one screen long enough, nothing. The unit bounces around from one tab to another. Its confusing the trucks computer system and has reset itself while on a lift getting serviced. The transmission is running hot, the cooling fans don't know if they should be on or off because the radio unit changes all the controls so quickly. The volts on the dash are always at or about 3/4 of the way up and continuously bounce because of the system always changing. I have 52 transmission codes because the system is so confused but no one will touch it because its an 8 speed and not serviceable. And all the components are working.... they just do not work together. There has been several recalls for this make and model but all for the diesel, I believe it goes further then just that.
When trying to fill my tank with gas, the pump would automatically shut off. In order to fill my tank, I would have to pump the gas very slowly. This takes 15 minutes or more to fill my take. I checked to see if there were any recalls, however, there were 0 recalls. There were no warning lamps or other indicators associated with this problem.
Started experiencing a misfire shaking on my ram 1500, took it to the shop for a cylinder 5 misfire, the truck has 67,xxx miles, they're saying it was cylinder 5 lifter failure, apparently also camshaft. From what I've read online this is a reoccurring problem, why would someone want to pay 30k+ for a truck or car that won't last more than 70k miles... now the dealership says they don't know how much money its gonna cost and the camshaft is back ordered..
Exhaust manifold bolts are breaking, warping my manifold and creating exhaust leak. Its been confirmed by a service center.
The contact owns a 2018 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while her husband was driving approximately 50 MPH, the vehicle lost power functionality and was difficult to steer. The contact stated that the failure almost caused two accidents. The contact's husband was able to avoid the accidents and drove the vehicle to a safe location and parked the vehicle. The contact's husband turned the vehicle off and restarted the vehicle and the vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the contact was informed that the system had reset itself and the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also stated that the vehicle was scheduled for another diagnostic appointment in several days. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to have another diagnostic test performed. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.
I have been having issues with my EGR, Dealership states there is a leak and ordered parts for repair that will cost me $2000 in repairs when parts come in. The engine light comes on almost every month and I loose power until I take it back into the dealership and they clear the code and state that they are still waiting on the parts to repair, Ordered parts should be delivered in October 2024. I have checked and this has been a recalled part previously and apparently repaired before I purchased the truck. My concern is with the loss of power when the engine light comes on and has been diagnosed that this is due to the EGR leak that it could cause an accident.
our radio in our 2018 Dodge ram has delaminated and it makes it now a safety issue...the cameras and other things are no longer available making it more and more a car we can not drive safely...we have contacted UCONNECT and done everything they have asked us to do...and EVERYTIME we call them back we get a different answer...first they were going to escalate the issue to get it fixed...then when called back...it was no we will not fix it...out of warranty they say this time...I am on the phone with them as I write this...each person has such broken English it is next to impossible to understand them.....as this is a widespread problem and others have had this corrected and some of us have not..why has this not become a recall as it is a safety problem...the dealer has confirmed the problem and gave an 1166.74 dollar figure to fix it at the time of 12-02-24...this problem started in early 2024 but would come and go to the point we are in now...totally not working...Mary from Uconnect ram division said a person named Viplove will call me within 1 day...I am not holding out hope as they never call back...so we never get it fixed leaving us an unsafe vehicle...THIS REALLY NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED....what does it takes to get an issue put into a recall to fix safety issues....a death need to happen...that is way to long..it is now making loud sounds to the point driving is not an option....if you look this issue up on the internet you will see plenty of people complaining about this....Please look into this....please
This is my 2nd complaint...Uconnect never did return my call as they promised they would....now our Uconnect is so bad it makes driving a safety concern. After starting our Ram the Uconnect keeps trying to call a number ....we have no idea what number it is but it continues dialing....we can not turn it off so if we need to drive this vehicle this is what we have to put up with....very distracting...I see many complaints on this website but nothing is being done....we get nowhere with Uconnect even though we have called numerous times...we can not access any of the features from this radio/Uconnect device...cameras...non functioning on the screen....what will it take before someone does something to make the manufactures respond.....as long as NHTSA does nothing....then Uconnect will feel embolden to also do nothing....PLEASE THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ..
The contact owns a 2018 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the electronic power steering failed, causing the steering wheel to be very difficult to turn in either direction. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure and a service appointment was scheduled. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 200,000.
The rear window is defective from the manufacturer. My vehicle is taking in water from a faulty design where the window drain does work and pushes water back into the vehicle. I have young kids and there is mold everywhere. The MOPAR agent admitted the window is defective but only some of the VINs were offered a free replacement. Clearly, they didn't identify all vehicles because there are numerous complaints on forums and on NHTSA website. Please do the right thing and issue a recall and give your loyal customers their money back for your faulty design. In addition, there is no ETA on the replacement glass which means that this is a widespread issue and MOPAR can't manufacture enough replacement rear windows.
Our ABS Traction control light as well as the emergency brake light are illuminated at all times. Along with the traction control. The message states to service braking system - service trailer braking system with an audible ongoing chime. Dealership won’t fix this stating dodge will not sell them the necessary part because it is a faulty part. This is a safety issue. We live in Wyoming where we get an incredible amount of snow. After researching this issue it has become apparent we are not in a minority - there seems to be dodge owners across the county experiencing this exact issue to no avail. No recalls for this very prevalent issue. I have filed a case with dodge cares and I have had no contact.
Uconnect screen is delaminating and causing phone calls and radio channel spontaneous changing as well as affecting maps while driving.
This is a big problem for a lot of vehicles. These trucks don’t fuel well causing fuel to spill out of filler neck on ground or in my case all over me.
My warranty work is being delayed until my warranty expires. The dealership said I could take my vehicle to another location, but that would mean leaving it there for several weeks just to get it inspected. This other dealership is about an hour away, and I live alone, so this isn't feasible. Am I really expected to accommodate the dealership just to get them to honor my warranty? The engine is ticking at idle, which I understand could indicate a failing engine. My truck also has a transmission issue—it slams into first gear when coming to a stop. The dealership looked at it early this summer but said I’d be without a vehicle for a significant amount of time if I left it, and they didn’t offer a loaner. This truck was originally purchased for $38,000 and came with a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) warranty. Additionally, the headliner leaked within the first few months of ownership. The dealership (Champion Ram of Athens, Alabama) tried to get me to pay a third-party contractor for the repair, but it was clear they were trying to sell me unnecessary services, so I declined. I took it to a body shop friend, who found that the cab seams were leaking due to what seemed to be a manufacturing defect. This issue causes moisture to affect the 10-inch Uconnect system, which malfunctions when exposed to water. My warranty expires very soon, and it feels like they're just trying to avoid fixing these issues. The truck currently has around 93,000 miles on it. Please help in any way you can, because getting help from Ram has been like chasing a chipmunk!
Due to screen delamination - While operating the vehicle, the central monitor cycles repeatedly through different functions, and actions, including but not limited to: calling multiple people using phone connected to vehicle by Bluetooth, changing the directions/stopping navigation, showing the back up camera, changing radio stations, change environmental controls. This is a significant safety issue as it is very distracting to the driver of the vehicle. Solutions like turning off the screen are not effective due to screen delamination - it prevents the screen from fully turning off as the trips the touch screen function restarting the screen. When the issue was raised with the delearship and noted as a significant safety issue - the dealership advised that it was not a safety issue and identified it as "the radio needing to be replaced". This is a known and documented issue with this year, make and model of vehicle. This is an ongoing issue.
The contact owns a 2018 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle failed to restart. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the crankshaft. The contact stated that the crankshaft had previously failed and had been repaired in 2021. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not assist. The failure mileage was 154,000.
When driving the check engine light came on, the car slowed up and would not start after. I had the truck towed to the dealership. The service manager told me the high pressure fuel pump shattered and shot metal debris through the system. The High Pressure Fuel Pump is not available even though it is on a recall list. I contacted Chrysler customer service, the representative essentially told me there was nothing they can do because the part was not available.
The contact owns a 2018 RAM 1500. The contact vehicle is related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel system diesel) and 23V411000 (Engine and engine cooling). VIN tool confirms there was 2 recalls at this time. However, the contact was driving up an incline at 65mph when the vehicle loss power. There was a strong odor and smoke was observed coming from the back of the vehicle. There was white fome coming out and surrounding both tail pipes of the vehicle. No lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed and diagnosed by a local mechanic and refused repair due to recall. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and was not repaired, due to cost. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure milage was approximately 104,000. The vehicle was not part of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V757000 (Engine and Engine Cooling)
I have an ongoing issue with my Ram pick up, granted it's not a safety issue but an known issue by Chrysler. My issue is with the radio delaminating. Again it's a known issue so well know that when I described the issue the tech behind the desk called out a diagnosis without even going into the vehicle. My truck was purchased used in Michigan but was originally purchased new in Canada so when I went to address the issue the US FCA Chrysler stated it's not their problem it needs to be addressed with FCA Canada. I contacted FCA Canada and was told it's not their responsibility I need to contact the US FCA Chrysler because I am not a Canadian resident. Again, I contacted US FCA Chrysler and was told they could not help me. This is a known issue, I don't care where the vehicle was first sold I just want my vehicle fixed. This issue has been proven to be in both markets, why will nobody take responsibility and do whats right for the customer.
I bought a 2018 Ram 1500 and every time I would go to the gas pump It Gets air bound and doesn't fill up it takes 20 minutes to fill up my tank they put a new gas tank a new neck and everything else and it still does it
There is a visible defect in the touch screen of the infotainment unit, which seems to be progressing in a top down direction. I suspect that the touch screen is delaminating and the electrical characteristics of the unit are degrading. The unit now "self-selects" and changes radio settings (FM to AM, or station), or screens (navigation, to CarPlay, to comfort settings, to...). Any and all features selectable through the touch screen, are accessible and changeable randomly; navigation screens and destination changes via both CarPlay and the onboard navigation system; windshield wiper/rain detection settings; high-beam auto dim on/off; parking assist; HVAC temperature, vent selection controls and fan speed; windshield and side mirror defroster; trailer setting selection. So far driver distraction has presented the primary risk. I have experienced the unit self-selecting/changing selections at a rate of approximately 5 selections per second, too fast to keep up with while parked or driving. I am concerned that parking assist features could be turned off or warning volumes changed without my knowledge. If towing a trailer, having the trailer braking options changed or having a different trailer selected could be dangerous. Power relays are also being switched rapidly. My issue has not been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, but there are numerous Youtube postings documenting the issue. My vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were no warning lamps or messages. The first symptom was the undesired stopping of podcasts or changing of episodes. The problem became prominent approximately 12/14/2023 and has persisted. On [XXX] while driving on [XXX] in southern California the unit dialed and connected to the 911 operator twice and terminated both calls without my choosing to do so. Similarly outgoing emergency calls could be cancelled without completion. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
1. Electronic power steering rack and pinnion and the control module on the rack for power steering. Yes vehicle is available for inspection. 2. While driving 100km (62miles)/hr on a highway lost all steering control and was forced to hit the ditch to avoid a roadway curve and oncoming traffic. Brakes functioned but steering did not. Putting my families lives and others at risk of a vehicle collision. No injuries were sustained. 3. Steering control issues has been confirmed by a dealership and mechanic shop. 4. Unknown if it has been inspected by authorities generically. My vehicle has not been inspected other than by dodge and an independent service provider. 5. After power steering failed, check engine dash light has come on, not allowing command start or other functions to be used. Dash does not have any messages and had to have code read by dealership to find steering control failure. Was advised that dodge rams up to 2017 have had the exact same recall for ower steering failures. 2018s should be investigated for the power steering failures as well.
GPS / Navigation system failure while vehicle was in use. System failure resulted in faulty position location on the moving map. When checked against the "HOME" location...the position error was 13 miles to the SouthEast. This failure is accompanied by erroneous Compass indication and a loss of Radio audio.
Truck is showing code p026c means truck is runing lean and it has to do with the fuel pump recall and parts are not yet available I need this issue fixed because I'll be getting station in germany
The contact owns a 2018 Ram 1500. The contact stated that upon attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the high-pressure fuel pump system was clogged and required a fuel system flush. The vehicle was repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel). The VIN was included but parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The failure mileage was 144,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The driver-side seatbelt material ripped in half so there is no longer a seat belt on the driver's side of the vehicle. One week later the passenger side ripped in half in the same spot on the belt. Neither have been repaired or replaced due to lack of money and because there was no accident insurance will not cover them.
Power steering was intermittently working for a period of time. One day while driving the power steering failed entirely. Was able to get the vehicle to a RAM dealership where it was confirmed that the entire electric power steering rack had failed and needs to be replaced. Parts are on back order with no anticipated delivery date. Part order was placed a month ago and still no updates.
Cam Shaft (RECALL) sensor failure / tone wheel per the dealership. Truck lost all power descending off a mountain / steep grade. Lost steering, brakes, engine power. The vehicle has only been inspected by the dealership. Truck will not start, even have installing new parts. It was towed in to the dealer on 12/2/23. I am not able to get a solid answer on what needs to be done. Communication has been very poor on the entire situation.
