Vehicle stumbles at stops when sits more than 6 hrs ..feels like a misfire ..had it to dealer 6 times can’t find problem
Water intrusion into front of cab. Leaking from storage cavity at top of windshield. May have been the cause of failure of heated seat and heated steering wheel assembly. Dealer has been notified of water leak, and has asked for video evidence prior to repair. Further research has stated that other electrical systems (including key safety components) can be damaged by water leaking from above, as well as mold growth in the headliner. There was no warning, and I only happened to notice when entering into the truck on a rainy day.
Sat. 7/16/22 ~ 3:05pm (7,427 mi) - While pulling out of my neighborhood onto the main road, the truck abruptly shut itself off, went into PARK & applied the e-Brake with my truck sticking into the roadway about a foot (& another vehicle behind me). Oncoming traffic in the lane was able to go around me still. Thankfully traffic was light and I wasn’t stuck further out in the road when it happened… or Mon-Fri when it’s busier. I noticed the “Battery” fault symbol on the dash but was able to restart the truck, release the e-brake, and get it in DRIVE again to get going again. During the rest of the 35 min drive to work, I had the digital gauges up on the radio and could see the battery voltage was at 11.9v - 12.0v for the entire drive to work. Sun. 7/17/22 ~ 12:15am to 12:45am - After sitting for 8hrs, I came out expecting to need a jumpstart to get home and found the truck started right up. I pulled up the digital gauges on the radio and the dash cluster and saw the battery voltage was at 13.9v -14.0v. That seemed weird, but perhaps the 48v Li eTorque Battery recharged the 12v system? During the 35min drive home from work, I noticed the battery voltage continued to drop to 13.3v, 13,2v, & 13.0v by the time I got home. Mon. 7/18/22 ~ 7:30am - Dropped the truck off to get it looked at/potential issue entered into the system. Dealer kept the truck for a few days, making several small trips with the truck and couldn't replicate the issue. Tue. 12/14/22 ~ 3:03 pm (15,222 miles) - while making a left turn from onto a side road the truck abruptly shut itself off, went into PARK & applied the e-Brake with my truck stuck in the oncoming Lane. Oncoming traffic luckily stopped for me to clear the road. Same scenario as before, with the “Battery” fault symbol on the dash but was able to start the truck, release the e-brake, and get it in DRIVE again to get going again. During the rest of the 30 min drive the digital gauges show the battery at 11.8v to 12.0v. 2hrs later fine.
Vehicle is equipped with “e-torque” auto stop/start feature. Was driving vehicle about 20-25 mph on road within grocery store parking lot area and approached stop sign. As I came to a stop the vehicle shut the engine off like normal and as I released the brake (which is when the vehicle automatically starts again) it started and I turned right to have the engine shut off again with no warning. Vehicle came to stop on road with traffic and automatically shifted vehicle into park and set e-brake. I didn’t know what happened at the moment and was confused why I lost power. I started the engine again and shifted into drive and deactivated the parking brake. Called dealer immediately after and made an appt for vehicle to be seen. No warning lights persisted after the incident took place. Seems like a very serious safety issue that should be investigated.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power and the parking brake independently activated. The contact stated that the failure occurred while driving at a slow speed. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle rolled forward several feet with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was started, and the vehicle was driven to the intended destination. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer twice; however, the failure was not duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The contact stated that the failure had occurred five times. Additionally, the contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
Was driving less than 10 mph and we to make a left turn. As I turned the engine shut down and the emergency brake came on. I was stuck in the intersection. I have less than 200 miles on the truck. I was finally able to restart it.
Just purchased brand new and has 681 miles. All the coolant has leaked out onto exhaust causing steam to come into the cab. All over everywhere. The resouvoir is below the minimum level. I stopped the vehicle and was unable to return home because of fear of running out of fluid. The fumes came through the vents. This vehicle only has 681 miles. I purchased this one week ago
The large 12in screen in the middle of the dash that controls all of the safety functions, the radio, temperature controls, rear view camera, etc went blank and was accompanied by an extremely loud beeping noise. I was driving at speed when this happened and almost lost control of the truck. I’m terrified to continue to drive the truck because I don’t know if it will happen again. I also don’t know what works and what doesn’t.
Sitting at red light and truck engine stalled/shut off. Emergency brake was automatically engaged I then had to restart the truck. I had to put on hazard lights as cars were stuck behind me this was very dangerous!
There were two (2) separate Repair orders performed in late July 2022 by dealership on 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn truck. Afterwards, on 7/21/22 the Fire Dept responded to our home since new 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 truck with 1,225 miles was “leaking gasoline⛽️ from engine compartment. The gasoline leak was pouring out the engine compartment onto the driveway and down into the street. This potential fire 🔥 dilemma occurred just 2 weeks after dealership had replaced “all the fuel injectors” in the engine. This was a dangerous situation my husband and family were put in due to thus defective truck. In addition, since the inception of leasing this truck the MIL light blinks constantly with daily notification regarding “Powertrain Engine Malfunction”! Seems very negligent for Manufacturer and dealership to have a defective truck that risks the consumer’s life and the safety of their family with a fire hazard!🔥 This defective truck had another repair order on Nov. 29, 2022 when truck began revving on its own and then lost power on roadway. We had to have the truck towed back to dealership yet again & again. This major defect occurred when the truck lost power while driving and the electrical dashboard oil / transmission indicators were acting erratically. Basically, the repair order indicates that the dealership replaced the same fuel injector that they replaced in back in July 2022 (twice for same replacement part). Lastly,, even after seven repairs the check engine light is continuously going on (indicating never ending mechanical problems). The dealership has never fixed this issue either since the truck is beyond repair.
I went to Walmart and my truck shift off coming of the highway . All power died but said was still running I pulled in to Walmart because it was the closest place to coast in to with no power steering . I get out look around nothing looks wrong so I get back in push the engine start button and my truck makes a load bank noise followed by a bright flash as my antenna exploded. I have only 600 miles on it never knew this was a problem I don't even know where to begin I have no power any where in my truck except hazards dome lights that is all
DRIVING AROUND 40MPH ON A BUSY ROAD WAY I WENT TO SLOW DOWN AND MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURN INTO A SHOPPING CENTER. TRUCK DIED WITHOUT WARNING, DASH DISPLAYED NORMAL START PROMPT SCREEN THEN TOLD ME TO SHIFT TO PARK. THE LADY BEHIND ME ALMOST REAR ENDED ME. SO IT STOPPED THE TRUCK COMPLETLEY AND RESTARTED WITH NO ISSUE. IM NOW VERY CONCERNED FOR THE SAFTEY OF MY FAMILY AND MYSELF NOT TO MENTION I DO TOW A SMALL BUT EXPENSIVE BASS BOAT ON THE WEEKENDS WHICH COULD CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT AND OR FINANCIAL LOSS!
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle hesitated upon depression of the accelerator pedal with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle had been taken to the dealer on several occasions and the contact was informed that there was a misfire in cylinder #5. On another visit the contact was informed that there was a misfire in cylinder #6. The spark plugs and fuel injectors have been replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that there a burning electrical odor inside the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case number was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 20.
Transmission jumped out of gear while on major higway. Vehicle is at the dealership. Three times the vehicle jumped out of gear while driving on a major highway, had to make my way to the shoulder of the road without causing an accident. Dealership has had the vehicle since Dec 12, 2022 No warning lights or messages. Issue accured between Nov 1, 2022 to Dec 12, 2022
I have 4004 miles on this truck. it has stalled 10 times when I slow down to make a turn at a intersection. the truck stalls out and the emergency brake comes on. sometimes it goes to park and the rest of the time I have to put in park restart and take emergency brake off and then I can continue on my way. So far no one has hit me from behind me but it's still scary.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the tailgate door would not properly latch and failed to remain secured while closed. While towing a trailer and driving approximately 65 MPH, the tailgate door erroneously opened. During the failure the tailgate door and the front end of the trailer were damaged. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions while driving. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V904000 (STRUCTURE). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over and parked on the side of the roadway. The contact later restarted the vehicle, and the Forward Collision Avoidance warning light was no longer illuminated. The contact stated that while driving to his destination, the Forward Collision Avoidance feature failed to alert him of another vehicle in front. The brake pedal was depressed to stop the vehicle immediately. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and two other dealers, Whitten Brothers Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Richmond (10701 Midlothian Turnpike, Richmond, VA 23235) and Farrish Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (9610 Fairfax Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22031); however, all three dealers were unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to Farrish Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (9610 Fairfax Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22031) for a third diagnostic test. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that on three separate occasions, an abnormal, popping sound was coming from the speakers. Additionally, the infotainment screen would go blank and the radio would inadvertently turn off. After the most recent failure, the instrument panel also went blank which included the speedometer and other safety features. The contact had notified the dealer about the failure on multiple occasions but had not yet received a response. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and the contact was given a case number; however, the contact had not yet heard back from the manufacturer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 7,400.
Truck was at a stop sign after being off all night. Truck started fine but when accelerating from a stop into 90 degree turn, engine stalled and battery voltage dropped prompting a shift to park warning and auto stop disabled (already disabled by button) truck refused to turn over the first attempt but started on second and displayed battery voltage at 11.9-12. This is the second time this happened and the first a new battery seem to fix but it has now returned again a month and half later. Both times this happened in traffic and the truck was in the middle of the intersection. 2022 Ram 1500 bighorn 5.7l with etorque. (First red photo was the first time, todays incident was second but it did flash battery warning later on).
Truck cut off while driving. Once stopped engine does not restart. Less than 3k miles.
While operating the vehicle the engine and vehicle itself shut down entirely and I was unable to operate the vehicle. Second before the shut down, I did notice a battery light come up and then the vehicle was inoperable. Vehicle wouldn’t start back up and had to be towed to the nearest manufacturer dealership. Wasn’t even able to put in neutral to push it to a more convenient spot as everything is locked up. Vehicle is still in service as mechanics are unaware of what the issue is. This is a major safety concern because it turned off while driving on the road with no warning signs. Had this happened while I was driving on a fast moving highway, this could have ended much worse.
In traffic in a parking lot pulling into driveways slow speeds times it just would t stop and lunges forward about 5ft not safe took it to dealership service 2 times they can’t find the problem because there saying there’s no check engine lights on to find the problem I have just around 20k miles 2022 ram this is a safety issue I did read up one person having the same problem got into a accident
Tires had 1500 miles on it; Front right tire low pressure warning came on; Reading 19 PSI; Inflated tire back to proper PSI; Less then 24 hrs later, PSI was reading 24; Took tire off and sprayed down with soap water; approx. 5 pin size holes were causing the soapy water to bubble. Asked mechanic to put spare on back right tire and relocate back right tire to front right tire. He also sprayed down the back right tire while it was off the truck and again, approx 3 pin size holes were visible with soapy water; Brought vehicle back to dealer; They replaced what was the original front right tire, but would not replace any other tire since they found no issue since it was holding the PSI; Would not test the other two tires on the left side because again they were holding the pressure. Was told if problems comes back, need to address with Bridgestone/Firestone. These tires are 275/55/R20
On 18OCT2022 while driving on a flat section of road at approximately 35 m.p.h. my vehicle starting shaking at the area of the hood, and then proceeded to make the entire vehicle shake. Shortly after the shaking, the engine died with the message "Start Vehicle" and "Service Electronic Throttle Control", along with the entire dash lighting up. While coasting to a stop, at approximately 15 m.p.h. the vehicle suddenly locked up as it seems to have shifted itself into park, or applied the emergency brake, I'm not sure which causing the vehicle to slide into the grass I had available to pull off into.
Description of the Safety Defect: "My 2022 RAM 1500 eTorque experiences sudden and dangerous engine stalling while driving, causing a complete loss of motive power in traffic. This issue has been present since the vehicle had 13,522 miles (October 2022) and persists at 122,000 miles. I have identified severe corrosion and water intrusion on the 48V eTorque battery cable terminals located behind the rear seat. The corrosion is caused by a manufacturing defect in the rear window/3rd brake light seals. Despite multiple service visits (13k miles and 92k miles), dealerships have failed to diagnose or repair this safety-critical electrical failure. This defect is directly related to NHTSA Investigation PE24-018. The vehicle is unsafe to operate as it can shut down unexpectedly at highway
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of the NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V767000 (Fuel System, Gasoline, Engine) however, the part to do the recall repair were not yet available. An undisclosed dealer was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall repair. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to coast to a nearby parking lot. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the fuel system to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,400.
Three times while at a stop sign the emergency brake has been activated, the engine has shut off and the transmission has shifted to park. There were no vehicles in front or back of me and no vehicles at the side. One of those times it took several minutes to get the truck started and moving, the other two times it was fairly quick.
After coming to a stop or near stop (after applying on the brakes), there is a delay in throttle response and acceleration of between 1-3 seconds. This is a potential safety hazard because if a car is delayed in throttle, it may not be able to properly avoid an accident from behind. There were also a few instances where the car did not respond to the throttle, instead, after a 2 second delay, there was a big jolt which sounded like the car just kicked into gear and thrusted the car forward.
2022 Ram 1500 Vehicle with approximately 9000 miles, has stalled now twice while driving at speeds of 25 to 35 miles per hour and soon after shifts into park, and then will not start. One was on a busy street that caused risk of near accident, another was in neighborhood. Vehicle was towed after first stall, but dealership only saw stall on computer but did not have any codes or repairs identified. Vehicle also would not start on more than one occasion. Dealership cannot get in to service for 3 to 4 weeks.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would shut off as a battery warning light would flash on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they discovered the issue was related to the torque located inside the motor. The contact was informed that the part to repair the defect was not available. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 200.
Will it looks to be a problem with the 2022 ram e torque system and there are a lot of complaints same as mine stalling at the stop changing heating settings at a stop it stalls and just poor performance with hesitation if you are at a stop wanting to turn and waiting for oncoming traffic make sure you have enough time to proceed with the 3 second delay when pulling out the 3 seconds could mean your life its been to the dealer a few time and there is nothing wrong i disagree if you don't have the response from the time you press the peddle and the time you start to mo9ve is a 3 second delay something is wrong even when i disengage the e torque it still does the same thing Hay ram get a fix before someone gets killed
I was at a complete stop awaiting a draw bridge to lower. I put my vehicle in park. When the cars In front of me started to move I put my foot on the brake and turned the knob to drive. My vehicle immediately accelerated out of control. I immediately pressed both feet on the brake as hard as I could and the vehicle kept moving. I hit a guy on a motorcycle and swerved left as hard as I could. I traveled another 150-200 feet and was quickly approaching a gate at a local factory when my vehicle stopped three feet in front of the gate. I thought I killed the guy on the motorcycle- luckily he was ok. The witness behind me described the incident exactly as I did too. I contacted Daimler Chrysler and opened up a case with them. Seems like the gas pedal was pressing itself and I could over power it.
Hello. I leased a 2022 Ram 1500 Big Horn V6 "ETorque" on Wednesday Aug. 24th from Planet Dodge in Doral Florida. On the second day (Friday the 26th) I noticed when reversing out of my driveway, the car automatically stalled and engaged the emergency brakes, on the screen it displayed "Auto Park Disabled," since I had just gotten the truck and not used to it's new features, I thought it was something I accidentally touched or pushed. I had to turn off the truck and restart it. Now on Wednesday August 31st, while getting to a stop light (speed around 15-20 mph) the car automatically stalled and engaged the emergency brakes again and the display read "Auto Park Disabled." Now I'm on a busy street, I had to turn off the truck and re-start it. I was very perplexed and alarmed at the same time because I was about to get on the expressway to head home. I instantly called my sales rep and told him the issues, he asked if the car displayed any codes. I told him no, just "Auto Park Disabled"... he said he's "never' heard of this problem before and if it were to happen again to bring it in, I didn't hesitate I made an appointment to have the truck seen ASAP. I drive my kids to and from school and to after school activities. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE in this vehicle. I've read on other online forums that this type of Ram Engine "Etorque" has been given many drivers problems, some have had their vehicles stall in the expressway. I find it disingenuous that Dodge/Ram has not taken care of this issue sooner or set out to recall these unsafe vehicles with the "Etorque" engine. My kids are not allowed to ride in my truck until this issue is fixed. If it persists...I will enforce my Lemon Law rights in the State of Florida to have the manufacturer take back the truck.
I was backing out of my driveway and the rear view camera and rear sensors didn’t work. Due to vehicle in the road’s location and my mirrors view I could not see vehicle behind me and ran into the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that immediately after leaving a stop light and making a left turn into a blind corner, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power and activated the braking system causing the vehicle to abruptly stop in an intersection. During the failure an approaching vehicle had to swerve to avoid a collision with the vehicle. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 1,100.
The wiring harness on the vehicle is fastened to the frame poorly. I had to reattach it with plastic wire/zip ties in 3 different locations. I brought the truck home from being serviced at a RAM dealership and it had a very strong smell of burning plastic when I brought it home. This was not the smell of residual oil but a very definite smell of burning plastic. I brought it to the a different RAM dealership the next day to have the oil change corrected in Buffalo, MN and they didn’t visually see anything from underneath the truck. Since this incident I noticed an oil leak on the front of the engine, another failed plastic wire tie in the engine bay and two others that look as if they will pull from their fastened location.
While pulling onto a busy roadway the engine of my 2022 Ram 1500 with e-torque shut off and the emergency brake applied itself at about 10mph. This was accompanied by a check engine light and low battery voltage light. After the sudden stop I was almost rear ended by another truck on the road behind me. Seems to be a known issue with these trucks.
The vehicle will slam on the breaks if I am backing into a parking spot with any sort of vegetation. This happens way before I am anywhere close to being completely in the space. This could easily cause an accident and I have come very close multiple times. I have had to shut it off and the feature is unusable.
Back up camera will freeze and stop working. A loud tone will also sound and come through the speakers which will not stop until you turn the truck off and restart it. It is very distracting and unless you are in a safe place to do so can cause a hazard.
Windshield will fog up when a/c is running. I am unable to clear it without opening the windows for sometime or using the windshield wipers.
Trucks electrical or computers are malfunctioning and draining battery. Causing it to be too weak to start This has occurred twice In our garage. Requiring emergency roadside assistance to jump start. Taken to dealerships three times. They can’t reproduce the problem so they do nothing Of this occurs while driving all systems could fail. Truck has 2438 miles purchased new July 12,2022
I am not sure what system failed, but I suspect it could be an electrical or engine problem. The car has lost towing features, has shut off or almost shut off while driving on highways or while making left and right turns during exits from highways. The vehicle has also lost power steering. This happen while the vehicle was towing a travel trailer on the highway. There will be occasions when the front collision warning system goes off in spite of no collision being imminent. There have been occasions where the infotainment unit fails to turn on and also the rear-view camera feature does not come on. The vehicle continues to have these issues off and on. Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety and those that were onboard the vehicle were put at high risk because the vehicle could have been rear-ended had vehicles behind me been following more closely while the vehicle lost power and stalled/almost stalled. On the highway, my safety and those of others were at even higher risk due to increased speeds. During towing our safety has been tremendously put at risk. Some of the problems have been "fixed" by the local dealership (i.e. loose cables, replacement of infotainment unit). In other instances (stalling issue, collision warning system) the dealer claims to be unable to reproduce the problem. The vehicle and or components have not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, etc. One occasion there was a "check engine" warning, but it was very brief. Other than that there have bee no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problems prior to the failure. These issues first appeared in August 2022, four months after purchased brand new from the dealer. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer for inspection of these issues ever since, on at least five occasions. The latest stalling issue was in March 2024, though I did not take it to the dealer since on prior instances they have insisted there is nothing wrong with the vehicle.
Car has been at dealer for weeks , they can not fix .
Vehicle has extremely rough cold starts, only after vehicle sits overnight and happens every single time on a cold start up. Vehicle will spit and sputter and nearly stall out. RPMs on the tach will jump from 1,500 to over 3,000 and rumble spit, stumble and sputter anywhere from 10 to 40 seconds before it ultimately settles out and idles out. Vehicle has been into the dealership now twice to be serviced and they won't fix it. First time the dealer said, "no codes, there is nothing wrong" and gave it back to me. I took a video of the issue called the dealership back, showed them the video and asked them to fix it. They then kept the truck for a full week. During that time, they acknowledged that 7 of 8 cylinders misfired on startup but that they could not find a fix for the issue. They stated that I probably had bad gas and that I should try different gas. I tried gas from numerous stations and always use 91 octane and the issue is still there on every start up. I'm afraid to drive my vehicle any distance from home or overnight as I may get stranded, and I have kids.
I have a noise in the rear of vehicle when i hit a bump, I have a severe sway in the rear end towing anything. I have had m camper for over ten years, towed it with several vehicles. never have i had a sway towing m camper. with this truck I cant exceed 55mph or the camper is all over the road. the slightest wind will push the rear of truck so bad that it pushes me off the side or over the center line. it is very nerve racking and dangerous. i have an appointment at the dealer next week. but have read online where others are having the same problem and the dealer ships can't find anything wrong.
THE VEHICLE HAS A CONSTANT VIBRATION. IT WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER WITH 312 MILES. I HAVE COPIES OF EACH TRIP TO THE DEALER. THE DRIVE SHAFT SHOWED NOT ALIGNED PROPERLY, THE BRAKES SHUDDER UNDER DECELERATION, NOISE WAS FOUND IN THE MOTOR MOUNTS. IT VIBRATES AT ALL SPEEDS BUT AT 65 MPH THERE IS A ROARING SOUND INSIDE THE CAB WITH ENOUGH VIBRATION ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO PUT YOUR HAND TO SLEEP. I'M NOT SURE IF SOMETHING IS GOING TO COMPLETELY SEPERATE FROM THE DRIVE TRAIN, IF THE BRAKES ARE GOING TO FAIL OR MOTOR WILL SEPERATE FROM THE MOTOR MOUNTS. I'VE BEEN IN THE TIRE AND WHEEL BUSINESS FOR 41 YEARS AND THERE IS SOMETHING GOING ON. IF THERE'S A VIBRATION AT ALL SPEEDS, SOMETHING IS WRONG. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND BY THE AREA TECH ADVISOR WHO TOLD ME ON OR ABOUT SEPTEMBER 9TH 2023, HE KNOWS WHAT'S WRONG AND IT CAN NOT BE FIXED. IT APPEARS TO ME THAT FCA IS WAITING FOR SOMETHING TO FAIL BEFORE THEY WILL FIX THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE FILED A "LEMON LAW" SUIT AGAINST FCA IN THE STATE OF TEXAS.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the "steering wheel failure" warning message appeared on the instrument panel as the steering wheel lock up. The contact used excessive force to steer the vehicle off the road to avoid an imminent collision. The contact had the vehicle towed to the dealer for a diagnostic. Prior the failure, the contact stated that while turning the steering wheel to the left, the steering wheel would remained stuck in the left position and would have to be manually adjusted. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer for repair; however, the steering failure worsened after the initial repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but had yet to receive any assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 8,900.
The truck will lose power, shift into park and apply the emergency brake. This has happened around 25 time, It happened the day i got the truck, got it started turned around went back to the dealer, they did find anything. This is a very
The truck currently has 5804 miles. It has been to the dealership 4 times already for electrical-related issues, and once for a recall on the ECM. Total of 4 CILs by first 1000 miles. Then 1 additional light 8 days ago. Has been at service department since. The first major problem was at apx. 400 miles. The truck shut off at a light, even with the stop/start deactivated, and attempted to restart without success. The starter engaged but the injectors did not. It made a diesel sound until I pressed the start button again to retry, It had a CIL for injector bank misfire, then started back as normal. I drove straight to the dealer (within 2 miles) where they kept it for a week. They called and told me to come to pick it up because there were no issues with it. Apparently, the computer had no stored codes or history. Since then it has had a transmission over temp CIL, and 2 other lights that did not show me a message. The 12-inch Uconnect is constantly having errors and restarting (still awaiting a response from Ram on how to remedy it). The most current issue is when I was pulling away from a stop sign and the truck shifted to park and set the brake while shutting off on its own. Again stop/start was deactivated. Restarted the truck and drove straight to the dealer where it was observed by the service writer and manager that the low battery voltage message (11.5V) and light were on as well as several other lights. While driving it showed a low volt warning and started turning off loads to conserve power. I left the truck with them for 8 days so far. They have checked the truck multiple times as well have driven it. No evidence of any codes in the computer and no error lights anymore. Awaiting Ram to tell them what to do. At this point, I am afraid to drive the truck for fear it will shift to park while traveling at a higher speed and cause an accident. I now have a truck I cannot trust to drive and a hefty payment.
