Steering column control module went out. Right blinker will not stop and left doesn't work at all. Even in the off position right stays on so I have to put it down to the not working left to stop that but any movement and its starts again. It is a traffic hazard and even though 165,000 Rams were recalled this past year they say its VIN specific and will not cover my $400 repair. My truck is unusable until they repair this.
Power steering went out while driving on Interstate around 70MPH. Check enginge light along with what seems all the lights and bells started going off. Tuuck shot down and would not restart. Towed to dealer and they said the Power steer rack had a short and needed to be replaced. All parts on on BO with no ETA
Power steering unavailable alert shows on dash display intermittently and complete loss of power steering occurs from 5 - 20 seconds. This has happened multiple times since purchasing vehicle.
While driving I was making a left hand turn to another roadway. All of a sudden I was unable to make the turn because my steering went completely out. I had to make an immediate stop, if not I would have driven into the ditch. Had there been oncoming traffic this steering failure could have caused a fatal accident. The dash warning lite was activated, message was power steering failure. I had the truck towed to the dealership. After two weeks the dealer called and said the electric power steering failed and a new unit would need to be installed. I was told it could be several months before they get a replacement unit in. The vehicle has approximately 1700 miles and I purchased it new approximately 8 months a go. This is certainly a major safety issue that could cause a fatal collision.

Additionally, there was a burning odor near the front of the vehicle while driving 25 MPH. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the steering rack had failed, and the steering rack lubricant had leaked out, resulting in the burning odor. The dealer replaced the steering rack, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was then taken to a second dealer, Nielsen Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram of East Hanover (175 NJ-10, East Hanover, NJ 07936), who replaced the steering shaft and column, as well as the steering rack twice; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
