the forward fuel filter canister is constructed of plastic.i have found several blog sites complaining of the canister cracking and leaking fuel down the side o the engine.i replaced the filter in my truck several months ago and last week I noticed a heavy flow of fuel coming from under the diesel motor.the dealer said I did the damage when I changed the filter[a very simple job that any room temperature IQ mechanic could perform}now they want to charge me hundreds to replace it. I found a company that has already made a better part to replace the cheap plastic canister with a billet aluminum fixture.i don't think its right to push off their poor quality parts on consumers and then make them pay to fix it.check out Cummins Forum and Black Market Performance for the improved replacement parts.
The transmission down shifts by itself while driving down the road . You have to stop an change the gears to park then start again.I has happened 3 or 4 times .most of the time when you stop at a light or stop sign and take off when it drops to a lower gear it makes a sudden jerk. Some times tyhe transmission slams in to gear rather hard, I am going to be out of warranty if some one does not fix this problem. It has 12,276.7 miles on it as of right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don,t drive it much but it is going to blow the engine up or the tramission.
Rear backup camera display frequently failed for brief periods of time. Failure was unpredictable. I backed into low post hitting corner of rear bumper on passenger side during such a display failure. This resulted in major damage to the rear bumper.
The camera that controls the entire ADAS system randomly goes out or loses its calibration. This is so common the part is back ordered with no expected delivery date.
the integrated trailer brake controller does not perform enought to actually engage the trailer brakes on multiple trailers. this should be a recall issue for ram. we have two ram trucks with the same issue.
A driver was driving their vehicle on surface streets in Hollywood, CA. When they went to make a 3-point turn to park, they heard a loud noise and felt the vehicle drop. The driver got out to look and saw that the left front wheel was loose and bound up into the vehicles fender. The unit was towed back to the yard and inspected by our internal Fleet Department. It was found that the left front knuckle assembly had cracked, broken and failed between the lower ball joint and the rest of the knuckle assembly. The vehicle was towed to a Ram dealer where it was repaired under warranty and the failed parts were retained by the dealership.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the "Service DEF Now." Message and check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who was unable to diagnose the failure but informed the contact that all diagnostic trouble codes were cleared. Later, the contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle displayed the message "Unable to Exceed 5 MPH." After which, the vehicle lost significant motive power. The vehicle was again taken back to the dealer, who was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 17,000.

I noticed that all four shocks on my 2022 Ram Longhorn limited edition with factory air ride suspension are leaking fluid from around the piston head. I have tried to get the problem fixed but have not been able to find OEM shocks or even aftermarket shocks. I took it my local dealer ship with the recall notice the first one I received ( I have two now) the dealer ship has found only two shocks but they haven't told me which ones ( front or rear). Lithia Jeep, Dodge, of Klamath Falls Oregon knows all about this problem. They don't want to do the recall notices until all the parts are in, plus the bug deflecter on the front of the truck needs to be installed.I have been waiting now for about six months with no word as to how long it's going to take to get some shocks I continue stopping by to see if there is any news about the shocks but nothing yet, I have only about 43 or 44 thousand miles on this truck as it isn't driven that much. I have noticed that the suspension is really getting a hard work out when driving the rear air ride suspension is the only thing that is working on the rear . I am afraid that something else is going to fail or break that's going to cost me thousands of dollars that I don't have. Can't someone look into this problem.
My 2022 RAM 2500 only has about 10k miles and today when I started the vehicle in my driveway, the ABS and Traction control lights came ON. Did some google searching and found that this is a known issues plaguing RAM trucks since 2018! I'm going to call dealer tomorrow and hopefully this can be diagnosed and fixed promptly. However I'm not confident as I'm still waiting on a different RAM recall which dealer says the parts are only being released to each dealer in quantities of 1 per month. Paying $80k+ for a truck that can't be driven due to known manufacturers issues from 6 yrs ago is unacceptable. I hope NHTSA can help force RAM to address these issues.

The TPMS system has been in a failure state a total of three times so far. The error message has cleared itself after a random amount of time.

Service def see dealer and max 5mph in 150 miles. Traveling on I-40 from East Tn heading home. 225 miles to go. On a Friday afternoon. Called dealers in area none could look at it until Monday. Stressing about possibility of going into derate at 5mph on interstate and getting rear ended. Had to rent a car and take to a dealer 160 miles from home. Spoiled my vacation because of a false warning about def level. All that was wrong was the code needed to be cleared.

Two fire related safety recalls ZA3 (10/22/2022) and 13A (2/9/2023) have yet to be resolved due to a lack of parts from the manufacturer with no date available as to the availability of required parts.
I received a letter from FCA concerning recall 97A NHTSA recall 23V-654 and the directions for the recall suggest that I can do an OTA update or as the video linked in the recall suggest a download from [XXX] to correct this issue. I cannot get either resource to work to correct this issue described in the recall. This website and OTA updates for issues is a known problem with FCA products and suggests they do not care about correcting the metrics outlined in the recall. I would like for the file to be available or if they do not want them to be downloadable at least the OTA update system work or mail the files to the customer. This is a safety recall ISSUE, I continue to have a problem with this dealer (Hunter Dodge in Lancaster ca) on resolving 3 safety recalls on my 2022 Ram 2500 I have been on the dealers waiting list for 8 months now. Recently I received a call from Chrysler Co. that the dealer had the parts inhouse and I should call the dealer (Hunter Dodge in Lancaster ca) to set up an appointment. I called the person who is responsible at the dealership to get an appointment, she stated there was no reason for the appointment because she did not have the parts to fix my truck and hung up the phone. I received a call from Chrysler saying the parts are at the dealer, and yet when I call they continue to say the parts are not in. I am planning to go out of town with my family soon and I am VERY worried about this being a SAFTEY issue for 8 months now. I wonder if this problem qualifies as a 'Lemon Law' issue or any other action?, I hope you can help resolve this issue. the vehicle has been inspected by an independent engineer from Bosch, supplied by FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles), it indicates that an expert assessment has been conducted. In this case, the following answers can be provided based on that information: 1. Components or systems that failed or malfunctioned: - Half shaft axle front left - Wheel assembly - Brake rotor disc - Suspension - Drive shaft - Transfer case - Right front axle shaft - Right front caliper - Right front caliper bolts 2. Availability for inspection upon request: The availability of the failed components for inspection may depend on the specific arrangements made between the vehicle owner and the independent engineer from Bosch. It is recommended to contact the engineer or FCA for further information regarding inspection availability. 3. Safety risks: Considering the multiple component failures mentioned, there is a significant safety risk not only to yourself but also to others. These failures can lead to loss of vehicle control, compromised braking, and potential accidents or collisions. 4. Confirmation by the independent engineer: Since the vehicle has been inspected by an independent engineer from Bosch, it suggests that the problems have been reproduced and confirmed. The engineer's evaluation should provide valuable insights into the nature and causes of the failures. 5. Inspection by manufacturer, police, insurance representative, or others: The information provided indicates that an independent engineer from Bosch, supplied by FCA, has inspected the vehicle. However, it is not specified whether the vehicle or its components have been inspected by other parties such as the manufacturer, police, or insurance representative. 6. Warning lamps, messages, or symptoms: Over the past months and throughout the last year, you have experienced multiple issues with the four-wheel drive system and e

The contact owns a 2022 Ram 2500. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH and towing a load, the air bag warning light illuminated. After a visual inspection of the engine compartment, the contact observed that both air bag fuses were blown. After restarting the vehicle, it seemed to return to normal functionality, but the contact experienced additional electrical failures with the electronic stability control activated, cruise control disabled, the seat belt warning light illuminated, and the SOS call system warning light illuminated. Additionally, the trailer brakes system warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The contact replaced the blown fuses, and the warning lights and system failures were resolved. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 17,500.
This is the second time this is happening, first time June 30 2023 it was towed to rainbow ram in Covington because it lost power and multiple warning lights came on, service shifter appeared in message center, truck got home and wouldn't shift, then wouldn't start. Theyouldn't find the problem I was told they detected high voltage and checked for loose connection but couldn't find any issue despite having the truck more than a week. On August 3rd while driving on i10 in Alabama the truck had a sudden drop in power and start decelerating almost every warning light came on the dash with multiple message in the message center. It is currently at tameron ram in Alabama. The put it on a computer that showed almost every control module has failed. RAM will not guarantee to provide me a rental truck and the dealer can't tell me how long they will have it. To be clear I have no complaint aboutTameron ram staff. The last message on the display said to stop the truck in a safe place and that it may not start again. While tri g to get to the dealer it was going crazy with different lights and windshield wipers turning on by themselves.

On 7/29/2023 was told my Rear Differential fluid was low by a non-dealer service provider. They stated no leak was detected, but the fluid was low and they topped it off as part of their stated service. In reviewing my previous oil changes performed at dealerships it states that only an inspection for a leak was done for differential units. Which leads me to believe that the truck came from the manufacturer with the reduced amount of fluid. This could still result in failed parts due to the unit not having the sufficient amount of lubricants for 33,000 miles. Which could lead to an accident involving myself and other vehicles. Each dealer now states that it is up to me to cover the cost of having it investigated due to it not being detected by a Ram Dealership. When, in truth, it would have never been found due to their "multi point inspection" parameters. The only time it would have been detected by a dealership is after a safety incident had already occurred.
My 2022 Ram 2500 with only 9,900 miles failed to start requiring it be towed to the dealership. The dealer reported the fuel injector harness had failed and replaced it but then it started throwing other codes. The technician determined there was metal shavings in high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) so they contacted Ram engineers and started a STAR case. After two months and countless "pictures" taken and sent the the Ram engineers, they claim it was contaminated fuel which caused the metal shavings to be found in the HPFP. The engineers stated that there were no metal shavings found in the return filter so the metal shaving came from "contaminated fuel." This logic is impossible because for metal shavings to make it from the fuel tank to the HPFP and be visible they must travel through two fuel filter, one of which filters down to 5 microns. The dealership acknowledged the engineers logic didn't make sense to them either. The return filter showed some debris but if metal shavings can pass through a 5 micron paper filter than it would also pass through the metal screen found on the return line inside the tank. Ram is refusing to honor their warranty and trying to stick me with the bill even after they already are aware of a faulty fuel pump in their trucks.

Day after purchasing my truck the navigation screen went blank after plugging in iPhone to charge by usb. I could not use the 3 month trial of connect or use the remote features to start my truck or use navigation system to drive to an address. Could not use WiFi hotspot. Password and name would change every time I set it up. My navigation address would be modified while driving in route taking me home n opposite direction away from where I was trying to go. All settings would be modified constantly. Paid $400+ for a year subscription for navigation and connect but can’t use. AT&T told me someone had acquired the cell number associated with the simcard module in the navigation system and the SIM card must be replaced or they could continue to unlock my doors. My truck has been broken into more than 7 times and have stolen cash, ham radio and keys to my home and RV. Cannot get service manager at Prestige Dodge to change the simcard module out. He changes his story every time I try to bring my try back n to get the simcard module replaced. I am disabled use a wheelchair or rollator to get around. I fear for my life due to the number of times they have broken into my truck. Have video footage of hackers using my Dodge Ram app on their cell phone and getting into my truck on more than one occasion. Have filed 5 police reports to date. They now prevent the officers from contacting me about the police reports I have filed and have stolen bags of silver bars and silver coins I gave my son. They have ruined 4 iPhones and 3 laptops that were in my Ram. To date over 23,000 in cost I have paid for new iPhones and new email addresses but nothing prevents them from continuing to open my truck door. They planted an Apple Air tag in my truck as well and sent me text messages while on vacation in oct 2023 showing my location while they broke into my Rv a fourth time. I feel my life is in danger and someone steal my truck or break in my home w sleep with no hearing aids on and kill

Vehicle has continuous ongoing issues since day of purchase with big screen radio display. System randomly changes screens and drops connection with source over and over again while vehicle is in operation. This is also affecting the rear parking assist sensor system making it work randomly at times and give false triggers or sometimes no triggers when collision is about to happen. The random screen changes are an EXTREME distraction while driving because the screen is extremely large in the center stack and when the image is randomly changing in your peripheral vision it draws driver's attention off the road. These connection issues also affect audio sources and make it necessary for the driver to interact with touch screen a ridiculous number of times per short drive further distracting the driver. There has been ongoing issues with this vehicle since the day I purchased it new. Multiple attempts by multiple different Ram dealerships to repair/resolve the issues with no solutions found yet. Actual radio unit in dash was replaced with 2 new units by dealers in attempts to resolve issues with no improvements. Dealerships have worked with Ram engineering and opened multiple STAR cases on vehicle in relation to these problems. Contacted Ram customer care multiple times and requested Ram buyback or deem this vehicle as lemon law vehicle. To date vehicle has been in for attempted service for these issues more than 4 times and would have been in 2-3 times this number of visits if not such an extreme inconvenience. Demanded Ram buyback the vehicle and have got pushback from them. Vehicle has been in service since May 2023, was purchased new from dealer with less than 100 miles on odometer.
