1ST TIME OUR TRUCK SHOOK SO BAD WE HAD TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY, 2ND TIME TRUCK WOULDN'T GO INTO DRIVE. 3RD TIME TRUCK SAID IT WAS IN GEAR WHEN IT WAS IN PARK. 4TH TIME PERFORM SERVICE LIGHT. ACTUATOR. 5TH TIME PERFORM SERVICE LIGHT. AND NOW THIS. WE HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK FOR 10 MONTHS AND IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP MULTIPLE TIMES FOR MULTIPLE WEEKS. THE LAST TIME BEING FOR A 9 NINE DAYS. THEY HAVE NOW SENT IT HOME SAYING THEY CAN'T FIX IT BECAUSE THE RECALL PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. THE PERFORM SERVICE LIGHT IS STILL ON AND I WAS TOLD WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN WHICH THEY SAID IT WOULD THAT I CAN BRING IT BACK AND THEY'LL TURN IT OFF AGAIN FOR ME. WE HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH DODGE AND THEY OPENED A CASE THEN SENT US A MESSAGE THAT THEY CLOSED OUR CASE BECAUSE OUR TRUCK HAD BEEN FIXED. WE ARE AT A LOSS AS TO WHAT TO DO NOW.
INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL MODULE FAILS TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE VOLTAGE/AMP TO SAFELY STOP HEAVY TRAILERS. TRAILER WIRING ISSUES CAN BE RULED OUT, AS BRAKES OPERATE CORRECTLY IF TRAILER HOOKED TO ANOTHER VEHICLE. DEATH WOBBLE. I HIT SMALL BUMP IN ROAD AT 70MPH AND THE VIOLENT WOBBLING BEGINS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 3500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE MULTIPLE FAILURES CONCERNING THE VEHICLE AND THE DEALER FAILED TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION AFTER SEVERAL REPAIRS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A STRONG "DEATH WOBBLE" VIBRATION. THE VIBRATION CAUSED THE FRONT SEAT BELTS TO RESTRICT AND LOOSEN. THE CONTACT HAD TO REDUCE THE SPEED TO BELOW 45 MPH TO PREVENT THE CONDITION. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BY A TIRE REPAIR SHOP AND THE STEERING BOX FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED BY TWO INDEPENDENT MECHANICS. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO A TIRE REPAIR SHOP FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,468.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 3500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIBRATE VIOLENTLY AND THE CONTACT LOST STEERING CONTROL. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND MANEUVERED TO SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR A FEW MOMENTS. THE ENGINE WAS NOT TURNED OFF AND THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,500. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
2013 RAM 3500 QUAD CAB DUALLY - GENERAL AMERITRAC LT235/80R17, IN BETWEEN TREAD SURFACE IN THE GROVE THEY ALL STARTED TO SPLIT ALL (6 TIRES) AFFECTED. AMERICAS TIRE RECOMMENDED REMOVAL ASAP, IF I CONTINUED TO USE THEM ON THE VEHICLE IT WOULD LEAD TO TIRE FAILURE. HAVE PICTURES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 3500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 16 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED TEMPORARILY. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN BOX WAS FRACTURED AND THE TOWER SHOCK ASSEMBLY FRACTURED AND DAMAGED THE STEERING BOX. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE BOX, BUT NOT THE TOWER BRACKET. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 RAM 3500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRAME HAD A SPRING MOUNT THAT WAS NOT WELDED PROPERLY AND CAUSED THE SPRING MOUNT TO BECOME LOOSE AND SEPARATE FROM THE FRAME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V541000 (STEERING) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
DRIVING AT 70 MPH IT A HOLE IN ROAD HAD THE DEATH WOPPLE BAD HAD TO SLOW WAY DOWN TO GET IT TO STOP.
I RECEIVED IN LATE OCTOBER 2015 A LETTER FROM FCA (FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILES) REGARDING SAFETY RECALL R46/NHTSA 15V-541, WHICH STATES 2013 RAM 3500 TRUCKS MAY HAVE AN IMPROPERLY WELDED FRONT SUSPENSION TRACK BAR FRAME BRACKET, WHICH COULD SEPARATE WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING A HAZARDOUS SITUATION INCLUDING LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. BEFORE I WENT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THIS REMEDIED, I EXPERIENCED AN INCIDENT WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, WHERE THE FRONT END SUDDENLY STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY AND I LOST ALMOST ALL STEERING CONTROL, NARROWLY AVOIDING HITTING A FREEWAY SIGN AND EVENTUALLY STOPPING IN A DITCH ON THE SIDE OF THE SHOULDER. THIS WAS ALL RECORDED BY A DASHCAM VIDEO. UPON IMMEDIATE INSPECTION UNDER THE TRUCK, THE TRACK BAR MOUNTS WERE SEPARATED FROM THE FRAME, WELDS WERE BROKEN, LEAVING THE TRACK BAR DANGLING (SEE ATTACHED). THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO THE CLOSEST DEALER, AND UPON INITIAL INSPECTION THE DEALER ALSO STATED THIS APPEARED TO BE THE ISSUE THAT WAS UNDER RECALL, BUT THEY HAD NO REMEDY FROM FCA CORPORATE ON HOW TO FIX IT AS OF YET. FOR NEARLY A MONTH THE TRUCK SAT UNTOUCHED AT THE DEALER, UNSAFE TO DRIVE, UNTIL I WAS NOTIFIED ON 12/3/2015 THAT FCA WILL NOT HONOR HANDLING THIS RECALL PROBLEM BECAUSE I HAD MODIFIED THE TRUCK WITH A LIFT KIT. I SAY: THE LIFT KIT MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE ACCELERATED THE FAILURE OF THE PART, BUT THE ULTIMATE REASON OF THIS SITUATION IS FCA'S POORLY MANUFACTURED PRODUCT IN WHICH A RECALL WAS REQUIRED, BUT ULTIMATELY NOT HONORED. THIS PROBLEM IS NOT AN ISSUE IN 2015 OR NEWER HEAVY DUTY RAMS, AS THE WELDING PROCESS IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. THEREFORE, FCA CLEARLY ACKNOWLEDGES THIS ISSUE BUT WHEN IT IS TIME ACT UPON THIS ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, THEY WOULD RATHER BLAME OTHERS. NOW I HAVE AN UNDRIVEABLE TRUCK THAT I DON'T KNOW HOW OR WHEN WILL BE FIXED.
THE NEW DODGE RAM EQUIPPED WITH CUMMINS DIESEL EXPERIENCE A DEAD PEDAL, OR PEDAL DELAY WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL 3/4 TO FULL THROTTLE. THIS POSES A SERIOUS RISK WHEN NEEDING TO GET OUT OF THE WAY, OR MOVE THE VEHICLE UNDER EMERGENCY CIRCUMSTANCES. THIS HAPPENS UNDER ALL CONDITIONS: STOPPED, ROLLING, UNDER ACCELERATION ETC. IF YOU PUSH THE PEDAL TOO FAR THE TRUCK WILL NOT RESPOND TO OPERATOR COMMANDS AND WILL TAKE 1.5-2 SECONDS TO START PICKING UP SPEED. THIS IS A SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED OR SERIOUSLY INJURED. THERE IS NOT EXCUSE FOR A VEHICLE NOT RESPONDING TO DRIVER INPUT. MANUFACTURE CLAIMS "TURBO LAG", THIS IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE. YOU CAN BUILD TURBO BOOST, MONITORED ON THE VEHICLE GAUGE, THEN PRESS THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR, THE TRUCK WILL NOT RESPOND FOR 1.5 TO 2 SECONDS. THIS TSB SOMEWHAT ADDRESSES THE PROBLEM, BUT ONLY FIXES IT PARTIALLY, NOT TO THE POINT THAT IT IS SAFE. TSB 18-041-15 I BELIEVE THE MANUFACTURE KNOWS THIS IS AN ISSUE, BUT IS NOT FIXING IT DUE TO EMISSIONS RELATED PROGRAMMING ON THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE AFTERMARKET SOLUTIONS TO THIS PROBLEM, HOWEVER THEY VOID THE MANUFACTURE WARRANTY, AND IM NOT WILLING TO LOSE MY WARRANTY ON A NEW VEHICLE. I WILL BE SUBMITTING ANOTHER ONE OF THESE FOR MY 2015 AS WELL, SINCE THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. THANK YOU. *TR
WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 75 MPH AND YOU START CLIMBING A HILL OR GOING DOWN A HILL THE VEHICLE WILL START TO SHAKE AND VIBRATE AS IF SOMETHING IS NOT ALIGNED, I HAVE HAVE MY TRUCKS TIRES BALANCED ROTATED AND ALL ALIGNED AND THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. I TOOK IT WHEN AND DESCRIBED IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IT MUST HAVE BEEN SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE SERVICE LIGHT ON. THEY FIXED THE SERVICE LIGHT BUT THE SHAKING WHEN CLIMBING UP A HILL OR GOING DOWN A HILL IS STILL THERE.
I WAS WANTING TO KNOW WHY THE RAM 2013 AND THE 2014 ARE NOT ON THE BUY BACK PROGRAM. DUE TO MANUFACTURE RECALL R46, NHTSA RECALL 15V-541? I TOOK MY TRUCK IN TO HAVE ALL THE OTHER RECALLS FIXED ON IT BUT THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT FIX THIS DUE TO THERE WERE NO PARTS AVAILABLE AND THAT WE WOULD BE PUT ON A WAITING LIST AND DID NOT KNOW WHEN THE FIX WAS GOING TO BE AVAILABLE. SO DO WE JUST KEEP PUTTING OUR FAMILIES IN THESE VEHICLES AND KEEP DRIVING THEM IN HOPES NOTHING HAPPENS TO US?
MY VEHICLE IS IN THE SHOP FOR A 5TH TIME FOR THE SAME ISSUE OF THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, MESSAGE SAID ERROR WITH DEF SYSTEM , CALL DEALER. THEN MESSAGE CAME UP AND SAID IN 200 MILES TRUCK WILL SHUT DOWN TO ONLY 5 MPH. THE DEALERSHIP AND NOW WARRANTY IS REFUSING TO FIX IT AGAIN BASING THEIR CASE ON "CONTAMINATED DEF" FLUID AS THE CAUSE. I WAS TOLD THIS IS AN ISSUE ON THESE TRUCKS AND TO FIX WOULD BE $1700 OUT OF POCKET EVEN THOUGH IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. ONCE THE DEF WAS CALLED "CONTAMINATED", EVERYONE STARTING CALLING ME ASKING FOR $ TO REPAIR THE SYSTEM SAYING IT WAS MY FAULT THE FLUID GOT CONTAMINATED. DISTANCE DRIVEN FROM DEF ERROR CODE 3 REPAIR AT THE DEALER TO DEF ERROR CODE 4, LESS THAN 100 MILES AND NO DEF FLUID WAS ADDED SINCE IT LEFT THE DEALER. THE PROBLEM IS RECURRING AND NO ONE WANTS TO FIX IT. TRUCK IS SITTING AT THE DEALER AND CANNOT BE DRIVEN DUE TO THE 200 MILE SHUT DOWN SAFETY ISSUE.
SERPENTINE BELT BROKE FROM SUPPOSED "WEAR" AT 37K MILES WITH SUCH FORCE THAT IT BROKE THE FAN AND RADIATOR ON A 2013 3500 RAM HD TRUCK, RENDERING THE TRUCK'S STEERING, BRAKES, ETC., USELESS, IF ON MOUNTAIN/CURVY ROAD EXTREMELY DANGEROUS; THIS VEHICLE WAS ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AND DIFFICULT TO GET FROM LEFT LANE TO RIGHT MEDIAN. WOULD HAVE BEEN IMPOSSIBLE TO CORRECT IF IN CURVE. TRUCK IS STILL IN FOR REPAIRS AT DEALERSHIP 12 DAYS LATER. NO INVOICE RECEIVED; AMOUNT DUE $1500+
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE TRUCK STARTING SHAKING VIOLENTLY, THE SPEED WAS REDUCED THE SHAKE CEASED BUT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE CAME OFF. WHEN TAKEN IN A DODGE DEALERSHIP TO INQUIRE ABOUT REPAIR,WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT REPAIR IT. THIS VEHICLE HAS LOST POWER WHEN DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY DUE TO FAULTY FUEL SYSTEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE RAM 3500. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM AND HIGH BEAM HEAD LAMPS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM AND HIGH BEAM HEAD LAMPS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AGAIN WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT WIRING HARNESS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT COME ON THE DIC OF MY 2013 RAM 3500. DEALER CAN NOT FIX AFTER 12 TRIPS WITH CHRYSLER HELP. WHEN LIGHT IS ON THE AIR BAGS WILL NOT FUNCTION. COULD CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH.
OUR RAM 3500 SEEMS TO HAVE A WIRE CHAFING PROBLEM. ON 26 JUNE 2014 THE TRUCK LOCKED IN 4TH GEAR. ECM WAS REPLACED IN FAIRBANKS AT 16490 MILES. ON 18 JULY 2014 THE SAME THING HAPPENED AT 18481 MILES, THE DEALER IN SOLDOTNA AK FOUND A CHAFED WIRE IN THE WIRING LOOM. ON 29 JULY 2014, THE TRUCK COMPLETELY DIED, THE ECM FUSE WAS BLOWN. THE PCM WAS REPLACED. ON 26 JULY 2015, THE TRUCK COMPLETELY DIED AGAIN, ECM FUSE WAS BLOWN. MILEAGE WAS 31421. PRESTIGE DODGE IN LONGMONT CO REPLACED THE ECM AND THEN ON THE TEST DRIVE THE TRUCK LOCKED INTO 4TH GEAR. THEY THEN REPLACED A PORTION OF THE WIRING HARNESS TO CORRECT A CHAFED WIRE. I WAS RECENTLY NOTIFIED ABOUT ANOTHER WIRE CHAFING PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAGS. I MUST WONDER IF SOMEHOW THERE IS A WIRING LOOM PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL TRUCK. IN ALL 3 INCIDENTS IN 2014 WE WERE TOWING OUR TRAILER ON PAVED HIGHWAYS AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND IT WAS FORTUNATE THAT WE WERE ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD WITHOUT BEING IN AN ACCIDENT. THE EVENT ON 26 JULY 2015 OCCURRED JUST AFTER WE HAD DROPPED OFF THE TRAILER.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DEF FLUID INJECTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED TWICE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
JULY 17, 2015 - WHILE STATIONARY, I STARTED TRUCK ONLY TO HAVE ALL WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH ILLUMINATE, WIPERS ACTIVATE ON THEIR OWN, AND RADIO UNIT POWER OFF. EVENTUALLY, ALL POWER WAS LOST TO THE DASH. TRUCK WAS TOWED TO DEALER FOR REPAIR. TRUCK RECEIVED NEW PCM AND WAS RETURNED TO ME. JULY 17, 2015 - LATER THAT EVENING, THE TRUCK WAS TOWED BACK TO DEALER FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. TRUCK WAS IN THE SERVICE CENTER FOR TWO MONTHS RECEIVING A NEW WIRING HARNESS AND NEW COMPUTERS. SEPTEMBER 16, 2015 - TRUCK RETURNED TO ME. OCTOBER 13, 2015 - WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET THE TRUCK EXHIBITED THE SAME PROBLEM. MOMENTARILY LOST ENGINE POWER AND TRANSMISSION FUNCTIONALITY. LOST ALL POWER TO DASH INCLUDING TRAILER BRAKES. THE TRUCK SAT IDLING FOR APPROXIMATELY ONE HOUR WHILE WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK. I HAVE RECORDED VIDEO OF THE DASH CONTINUING TO FLICKER AND POWER UP AND DOWN ERRATICALLY. OCTOBER 16, 2015 - TRUCK STILL AT SERVICE CENTER AWAITING DIAGNOSIS AND PARTS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE RESTARTED WITHOUT BEING PROMPTED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Ram 3500. The contact stated that while attempting to sell the vehicle, the contact discovered there was a discrepancy in the mileage. The contact stated that the Carfax mileage was 47,029, and on March 10, 2015, the mileage was recorded at 49,873, and nine days later the mileage was recorded at 47,019.
2013 DODGE RAM 3500. ATTORNEY REPRESENTING CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE THROTTLE ISSUES. *SMD WHILE DRIVING, THE THROTTLE BECAME STUCK AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO INCREASE IN SPEED. AN INSPECTION WAS PERFORMED BY THE DEALER, WHERE THE ONBOARD COMPUTER SHOWED THE THROTTLE USAGE WAS 80& AND THE BRAKE WAS 79% AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO, SINCE THE ISSUE WAS NOT ON THE BULLETIN BOARD AS AN ISSUE TO BE ADDRESSED. *JB

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V635000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING, FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL) HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WAS UNAVAILABLE. ON DEC. 15, 2014 I RECEIVED A RECALL ON MY 2013 DODGE RAM 2500 DIESEL. THE RECALL WAS FOR A INLINE FUEL HEATER THAT MAY CATCH FIRE, IT HAD NO APPARENT FIX, NO PARTS, NO INSTRUCTIONS AND NO TIMELINE AS TO WHEN IT WOULD OR COULD BE FIXED. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANAGER ABOUT MY CONCERNS, HE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A REMOTE POSSIBILITY NEXT TO NONE, THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD CATCH FIRE. I ASKED HIM IF I COULD PARK IT INSIDE AND HE SAID YES, AND THAT THE RECALL WAS JUST BEING SENT OUT AS A PRECAUTION. ON THE EVENING OF JAN 28TH 2015 AT APPROXIMATELY 0:920 PM SMOKE DETECTORS ALERTED MY DOG AND HE WOKE ME UP. I WOKE MY WIFE UP YELLING (FIRE) I PANICKED I TOOK IN A DEEP BREATH COVERED MY MOUTH WITH MY FOREARM, OPENED THE PERSONAL ENTRY DOOR AND STEPPED INSIDE THE GARAGE NOT REALIZING HOW BAD IT WAS. THE AMOUNT OF HEAT BEING GENERATED FROM THE DIESEL FUEL AND THE STRUCTURE WAS SO HOT THE BACK DRAFT PULLED THE DOOR OUT OF MY HAND TRAPPING ME IN THE GARAGE AND BECAUSE IT WAS A SCHLAGE COMBINATION STYLE THERE WAS NO TURNING BACK, ALL I COULD SEE WAS COMPLETE BLACK AND RED, RED FLAMES WAS SHOOTING OUT FROM UNDER MY TRUCK. MY NEIGHBOR WAS KICKING ON MY GARAGE DOOR YELLING TO WAKE UP. I PANICKED AGAIN AND HIT THE UP BUTTON ON THE MAIN GARAGE DOOR HOPING TO MAKE A RUN FOR IT, THE GARAGE DOOR WENT UP ABOUT A FOOT AND FELL HARD BECAUSE IT PULLED THE DOOR MOTOR FROM THE MOUNTING BRACKETS. I KNEW THE ONLY WAY OUT WAS THE FRONT DOOR I USED THE SIDE OF THE DODGE AS A GUIDE AND BURNT MY LEFT HAND, MADE IT OUT THE DOOR AND MY NEIGHBOR HANDED ME THE GARDEN HOSE HANGING ON THE FENCE. ALL FIRE REPORTS INDICATE THE FIRE STARTED UNDER THE HOOD OF THE DODGE, THE FIRE INVESTIGATOR FROM CHRYSLER SAID IN FRONT OF LARAMIE COUNTY ARSON INVESTIGATORS THAT IT ORIGINATED AT THE FUEL HEATER. MY VEHICLE EXPERIENCES A PHENOMENON COMMONLY KNOWN AS 'DEATH WOBBLE'. (GOOGLE '2013 DODGE RAM 3500 DEATH WOBBLE' TO VIEW VIDEOS OF THIS ISSUE). WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND ENCOUNTERING A CERTAIN CURVE RADIUS COMBINED WITH A BUMP OR DEFECT IN THE ROADWAY SURFACE, THE FRONT SUSPENSION BEGINS VIOLENTLY VIBRATING. THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES VIOLENTLY AND THIS VIBRATION CANNOT BE STOPPED BY HOLDING THE WHEEL. APPLYING THE BRAKES TRANSMITS THE VIBRATION TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE ONLY REMEDY IS TO ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO SLOW DOWN BY REMOVING ANY INPUT TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. WHEN THE VEHICLE SPEED DROPS TO BELOW APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VIBRATION CEASES. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME NUMEROUS TIMES AND MAKES ME FEEL AS IF I COULD LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. IF THIS WERE TO OCCUR ON A WET OR SNOW COVERED ROADWAY, I THINK THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD MOST LIKELY SPIN OUT OF CONTROL. I HAVE BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN TO TWO DIFFERENT DODGE DEALERS TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THEY SAID THAT THEY WERE 'UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE'. THIS IS NOT SURPRISING SINCE IT REQUIRES A VERY SPECIFIC COMBINATION OF VEHICLE SPEED, STEERING ANGLE, AND BUMP OR OTHER INPUT TO THE SUSPENSION SYSTEM. MY VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY COVERAGE WHEN I COMPLAINED OF THIS ISSUE TO THE DEALERS. MY VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY COVERAGE BUT THE VEHICLE STILL HAS THIS ISSUE. THE DEALER ALSO REPAIRED THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL THREE TIMES AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THERE WAS ABNORMAL SWAYING IN THE REAR AND THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED TO SAFELY OPERATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS LESS THAN 3,000.
ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, MESSAGE SAID ERROR WITH DEF SYSTEM , CALL DEALER. THEN MESSAGE CAME UP AND SAID IN 200 MILES TRUCK WILL SHUT DOWN TO ONLY 5 MPH. IF I ALLOW THE ACCELERATOR TO RETURN TO IDLE POSITION AND THEN DEPRESS THE ACCELERATOR AGAIN, THE ENGINE REGAINS POWER AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE SITUATION AS I WAS TOWING A 12K POUND TRAILER AND WAS ATTEMPTING TO PULL ONTO THE HIGHWAY. WHEN THE VEHICLE LOST POWER, I WAS IN JEOPARDY OF BEING HIT BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC.
