VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL
Defect Description
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ARMS WERE INCORRECTLY ASSEMBLED BY THE SUPPLIER. THE CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE BRAKE PEDAL MAY BE REDUCED. THIS CONDITION CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF BOTH PEDALS BEING OPERATED AT THE SAME TIME BY THE DRIVER.
Safety Consequence
THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL COULD BE HELD DOWN BY THE PEDAL STOP ASSEMBLY INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE PEDAL ASSEMBLY AND REPLACE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 11, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT JAGUAR AT 1-800-452-4827.
