TAKATA RECALL -- I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR MY CAR AND IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE SAAB CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER. I SPOKE WITH LISA WHO TOLD ME "DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE RECALL NOTICE. THERE REALLY ISN'T A PROBLEM." I THEN CONTACTED GM CORPORATE AND SPOKE WITH RANETTE IN THE GM EXECUTIVE OFFICE. SHE REFUSED TO TALK WITH ME AND KEPT REPEATING "I DO APOLOGIZE. I DO NOT HAVE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS MATTER." I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH HER SUPERVISOR AND SHE THREATENED TO "DISCONNECT THE CALL". I TOLD HER NOT TO DISCONNECT THE CALL AND ASKED FOR HER SUPERVISOR'S NAME. THEN SHE PUT ME ON HOLD FOR ONE HOUR AND FORTY MINUTES. NOTHING IS BEING DONE. NOTHING IS BEING HANDLED AND I AM BEING TOLD THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE. VALIDATED NEWS REPORTS SHOW THAT PEOPLE ARE BEING KILLED BY THIS DEFECT. I DO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DEFECT AND NEED AN ALTERNATIVE MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION OR NEED TO HAVE THE AIRBAG DISABLED.

TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL ABOUT 9 MONTHS AGO. THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE DEATHS RELATED TO THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING MY CAR AND WOULD LIKE A REMEDY NOW. IF YOU CAN NOT FIX THE AIRBAG NOW I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE AN ALTERNATIVE OPTION TO DRIVING THE TICKING TIMEBOMB.

"TAKATA RECALL" - I'M VERY UPSET AND ANGERED THAT THE GM SAFETY RECALL 28810/SAAB SAFETY RECALL 15041INFORMS ME OF THE RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH TO VEHICLE OCCUPANTS BUT PROVIDES NO REMEDY! ACCORDING TO THE RECALL LETTER THAT I RECEIVED AND VERIFICATION FROM THE GM DEALERSHIP THAT SOLD ME MY VEHICLE, THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO ORDER AND GM WON'T PROVIDE FOR A LOANER OR RENTAL CAR! THEREFORE I'M EXPECTED TO RENT A CAR UNTIL THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AT MY OWN EXPENSE OR RISK INJURY OR DEATH TO ME, MY WIFE, MY CHILDREN OR ANY OTHER OCCUPANTS FOR A POTENTIALLY 3-12 MONTH PERIOD OF TIME. TAKATA RECALL. RECEIVED NOTICE IN MARCH 2016 ABOUT RECALL. AUGUST 2016 AND STILL NO PARTS AVAILABLE! BOUGHT THIS CAR BECAUSE OF IT'S SAFETY RECORD FOR MY 20-YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AT COLLEGE. SCARED EVERY TIME SHE GETS IN IT BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN WHERE THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR SO LONG?? GM SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. I AM STILL WAITING TO HEAR WHAT TO DO ABOUT GETTING THE AIRBAGS REPLACED AND IN THE MEANTIME, DESPITE PAYING FOR INSURANCE, COSTS, ETC, HAVE LIMITED MY USE OF THE CAR. BOTH DEALERS WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
I WAS INFORMED OF THE AIR BAG RECALL IN FEBRUARY. TO DATE THERE HAS BEEN NO ACTION TO REMEDY -- REPLACE THE FAULTY PART. THIS IS AN EVERYDAY CAR WHICH CARRIES TWO PRE-SCHOOLERS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHEN THE AIR BAGS WILL BE REPLACED AND WHAT OTHER OPTIONS I HAVE GIVEN THE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH CLAIMS FROM THIS RECALL. IT'S BEEN THREE MONTHS. THANK YOU *TR

TAKATA RECALL. I FEEL THAT GM SHOULD BE READY AND COMPLETING THESE RECALLS IN A MUCH MORE TIMELY FASHION. THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE FOR QUITE SOME TIME AND OWNERS SHOUKD NOT HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE WORRY ABOUT THESE POTENTIALLY LETHAL AIRBAGS!

I WAS DRIVING CAR ON MIDDLE LANE ON HIGHWAY APPROACHING TRAFFIC, WHEN MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. THIS WAS AFTER GETTING A COMPLETE TUNE UP INCLUDING OIL CHANGE, NEW BATTERIES AND TIRES. TOWED CAR TO REPAIR SHOP AND AFTER REPAIR, THE ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON AND THEN THERE WAS SMELL OF GAS AND CAR CONTINUED TO STALL. TOOK CAR BACK TO REPAIR SHOP, WHERE THE FUEL INJECTOR WAS REPLACED AND GAS SMELL WAS ELIMINATED. BUT ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON AND CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AGAIN. TOOK IT TO REPAIR SHOP, YET AGAIN. THIS TIME, STARTER WAS CHANGED AND MECHANIC CLAIMS THAT A NEW ECU/ECM IS NEEDED FOR ENGINE BUT PART FOR 2006 MODEL HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED AND IS NOW RUNNING ON 2004 ECI/ECM AND ENGINE LIGHT STILL REMAINS ON AND STARTED IS A BIT ROUGH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 SAAB 9-3. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH WHILE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE SEAT BELT VIOLENTLY SEIZED ACROSS THE CONTACT'S CHEST CAUSING HER TO LOSE CONSCIOUSNESS. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 163,000.
I WENT TO HAVE A RECALL ADDRESSED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 14V318000. THE DEALERSHIP DOES NOT HAVE PARTS AND STATED THAT THEY MAY NOT ARRIVE FOR SOME TIME. THERE WAS A VERY LIMITED KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE RECALL AND I WAS FORCED TO LEAVE WITHOUT HAVING MY SEATBELT REPAIRED. I BELIEVE IT IS VERY DANGEROUS OWNING A CONVERTIBLE WITH A SEAT BELT THAT HAS A MANUFACTURED DEFECT AND I WOULD LIKE MY ISSUE RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY.

THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE OF WHAT PART NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
