Several Issues
While driving the car doesn’t switch gear properly. The car made a stalling noise and as soon as I remove my foot from the gas pedal it’s automatically braking.
The brake lights are illuminated when I’m not breaking, and when I do break, the brake lights will go off and I cannot set my cruise control because of it.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE BRAKES WILL AUTOMATICALLY START ON THERE OWN. THIS WILL LAST ABOUT 15 SECONDS. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT ONCE A WEEK. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THE PAST YEAR. WHEN BROUGHT INTO A MECHANIC THEY CANT HELP.
BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON. WHEN THE BRAKE IS APPLIED THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO OFF AND THEN ON. THIS CONDITION WOULD HAPPEN WHILE STOPPED WITH BRAKES ON OR WHILE DRIVING WITH BRAKES OFF. GM SERVICE POLICY PREVIOUSLY COMPLIED WITH TO FIX CONDITION. BRAKE SENSOR WAS AT FAULT. SENSOR REPLACED.
2007 SATURN AURA. CONSUMER WRITES REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT FOR VEHICLE REPAIRS RELATED TO A SAFETY RECALL. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS A RECALL FOR BRAKE LAMP MALFUNCTION, BUT THE CONSUMER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. *JS

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH AND TURNING INTO A PARKING LOT, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY ANOTHER MOTORIST THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED FOR APPROXIMATELY THREE MILES. HOWEVER, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER AN UNKNOWN RECALL FOR THE SAME FAILURE IN SEPTEMBER OF 2014. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND THE MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE NOT 1 BUT 2 RECALLS ON MY 2007 AURA SATURN. THE ONE IN CONCERN IS THE BRAKE APPLY SENSOR WHICH CAUSES THE SERVICE BRAKE LAMP MALFUNCTION. WHEN I APPLY MY BRAKE THE LIGHTS DO NOT ILLUMINATE AND WHEN I DO NOT APPLY THE BRAKES THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO ON. I HAVE BEEN ALMOST REAR ENDED TWICE IN THE PAST WEEK DUE TO MY BREAK LIGHTS NOT ILLUMINATING. I HAVE ALSO BEEN YELLED AT BY THE DRIVERS WHO HAVE ALMOST HIT ME BECAUSE THEY THINK MY BREAK LIGHTS ARE NOT WORKING - WHICH THEY ARE RIGHT. I HAVE CALLED GM TO NO AVAIL. THEY TELL ME THEY ARE WAITING FOR THE PART TO BE MADE AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I RECEIVED MY RECALL NOTICE IN JULY 2014 AND IT IS NOW AUGUST 13, 2014 AND STILL THEY CAN NOT TELL ME WHEN THE PART WILL EVEN BE AVAILABLE. SO EVERY DAY I PUT MYSELF IN DANGER AND RISK MY LIFE ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT GM DOES NOT SEEM TO BE CONCERNED. I WONDER IF IT WERE THEIR CHILD BEHIND THE WHEEL IF THEY WOULD FEEL THE SAME WAY??????? I WAS COMING TO A STREET TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN AND THE CAR BEHIND DID NOT REALIZE I WAS TURNING BECAUSE AS I APPLIED MY BRAKES THE BRAKE LIGHT TURNED OFF INSTEAD OF COMING ON. I HAVE COME TO REALIZE THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON WHEN DRIVING AND WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKE THEN THE BRAKE LIGHT IS OFF. A CAR BEHIND STOPPED AND TOLD ME OF THE INCIDENT AND ONLY SLOWED DOWN BECAUSE HE SAW MY TURN SIGNAL WAS ON. I HAVE A 2007 SATURN AURA. I'M CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING THE ISSUE ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14V252000 (RECALL # 13036). ADDITIONAL TO THIS ISSUE, I'M COMPLAINING THAT THIS ISSUE COULD BE ASSOCIATED WITH DRAINING MY CAR BATTERY. SINCE THIS ISSUE I HAVE REPLACED THREE (3) BRAND NEW BATTERIES. I HAD MY ALTERNATOR CHECKED TWICE AND BOTH TEST RESULTS DIAGNOSIS WAS PASSED. WHICH MEANS THAT MY ALTERNATOR IS GOOD AND DIDN'T NEED TO BE REPLACED. EACH TIME I HAVE MY BATTERY REPLACED WITH A BRAND NEW BATTERY THE LIFE SPAN OF THE BATTERY IS ABOUT 3 WEEKS. AFTER THAT THE BATTERY IS DEAD. IF I DON'T REPLACE THE BATTERY AND GET A JUMP START THE LIFE SPAN OF THE BATTERY LAST ABOUT 7-10 DAYS BEFORE I WILL NEED ANOTHER JUMP START. TODAY, AUGUST 9, 2014 I AGAIN HAD MY BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR DIAGNOSED AND BOTH PASSED THE TEST. I WAS TOLD BY A CERTIFIED GM MECHANIC THAT MY ISSUE COULD BE RELATED TO ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THAT IS DRAINING (KILLING) MY BATTERY BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BATTERY AND THE ALTERNATOR. COULD THIS ISSUE (14V252) BE THE REASON MY I'M EXPERIENCING MY BATTERY TO DIED/DRAIN BECAUSE OF MY CAR IS AFFECTED BY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL ISSUES? I FOUND AN ARTICLE ON-LINE REGARDING THE NTSB INVESTIGATING BRAKE LIGHT PROBLEMS WITH CHEVY MALIBU AND SATURN AURA'S. MY 2007 SATURN AURA HAS THE SAME ISSUE. ON OCCASIONS THE BRAKE LIGHT WILL BE "REVERSED" THE BRAKE LIGHT WILL BE ON WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT PRESSED, THEN THEY WILL GOT OFF ONCE THE BRAKE PEDAL IS PRESSED. THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE WAS ON 5/26/14. I AM AWARE OF IT HAPPENING ANOTHER 6-7 TIMES IN THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS. *TR
I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE THEN I REALIZED MY CAR WAS SLOWING DOWN. I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AND THAT'S WHEN I NOTICED THE RPM PASSED THREE. I NOTICED BOTH MY FRONT TIRES WERE SMOKING. FOR THE PAST FEW YEARS- I HAVE NOTICED THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WILL LIGHT UP WITHOUT ME PRESSING ON THE BRAKE. AT TIMES- THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN I AM PRESSING THE BRAKE. MY DAD HAS CORRECTED THIS IN THE PAST WITH USING DIASTOLIC LUBRICATION ON A CONNECTOR UNDER THE PASSENGER SIDE DASH BOARD- WHICH HE FOUND TO DO ONLINE. THE LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP WASN'T ABLE TO HELP ME NOR WAS WILLING TO RESEARCH THIS FOR ME. GENERALLY MY DAD HAS BEEN ABLE TO KEEP IT CORRECTED FOR 6 MONTHS AT A TIME; NOW IT WONT MAKE IT PAST 2 WEEKS. *TR
OCCURRING OFTEN BUT INTERMITTENTLY, MY BRAKE LIGHTS REMAIN ON WHILE THE BRAKES ARE NOT BEING ENGAGED. WHEN THE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ENGAGED, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL TURN OFF AND WILL THEN COME BACK ON WHEN DISENGAGED. THIS ALSO DOES NOT ALLOW CRUISE CONTROL TO BE ACTIVATED WHILE THE BRAKE LIGHTS REMAIN ON. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 155,000.
