I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH WHEN THE INDICATOR LIGHT FOR THE STEERING LIT UP AND MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. I STOPPED AND RESTARTED MY CAR AND THE POWER STEERING WORKED FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. THE INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND THE STEERING FAILED. THE FOLLOWING DAY MY VEHICLE WAS CHECKED OUT BY A MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AS A FAILED EPS (ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING). THE ESTIMATED COST OF JUST THE PART IS $1200. I DID NOT ASK ABOUT THE COST OF LABOR. I HAVE STARTED THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES SINCE THE INITIAL INCIDENT AND SOMETIMES THE INDICATOR LIGHT IS NOT ON AND THE POWER STEERING WORKS FOR A FEW MINUTES. ULTIMATELY THE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE STEERING FAILS AGAIN WITHIN 5 MINUTES. AT OTHER TIMES I HAVE STARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE INDICATOR LIGHT IS ON AND THERE IS NO POWER STEERING.AS I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE, THIS IS VERY UPSETTING. *TR

THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED WHO ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,926.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 SATURN ION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN PULLING HARD TO THE RIGHT WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 101,314.
WHEN STARTING THE SATURN ON A COLD MORNING, THE IGNITION FAILS TO START THE CAR. I GET A SERVICE MESSAGE. AFTER WAITING ABOUT 10 MINUTES THE CAR WILL START AS IF THE SECURITY WAS RESETTING ITSELF. I'VE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS OF THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET. GM WILL NOT OWN UP TO A FAULTY PRODUCT THAT LEAVES 100S OF PEOPLE STRANDED. AS TIME GOES BY THIS PROBLEM OCCURS AT RANDOM TIMES, EVEN ON WARM DAYS. I WOULD LIKE A RECALL APPROVED FOR THIS MASSIVE SAFETY PROBLEM. IT'S A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE IN AN EMERGENCY OUR CARS SHOULDN'T HAVE TO SIT FOR AN ADDITIONAL TEN MINUTES OR STALL US IN A POTENTIALLY BAD NEIGHBORHOOD. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO CORRECT ITSELF AFTER THIS IGNITION SWITCH INSIDE OF THE STEERING COLUMN HAS BEEN REPLACED BASED ON HUNDREDS OF TESTAMENTS. I WANT TO ADD THAT MY SATURN WHEN IT WAS NEW HAD OTHER RECALL ISSUES LIKE THE AUTOMATIC LIGHT SENSOR. ALSO, ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 SATURN ION. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND AS A RESULT THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE POWER STEERING WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 112,394. UPDATED 6/6/12 *CN THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING MOTOR WAS REPLACED ON 05/22/12. UPDATED 06/11/12
WAS RIDING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70MPH AND ALL THE SUDDEN I HAD NO POWER STEERING. I AM NO TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THE CAR DUE TO THE FACT IF IT KEEPS GOING OUT I DON'T WANT TO WRECK. I HAVE CALLED MANY MECHANICS AND THEY HAVE BEEN TELLING ME THAT THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A RECALL ON THIS CAR. PLEASE HELP ME FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG. TODAY IT HAPPENED TWICE TO ME. OUR CAR, 2004, SATURN ION3, CAUGHT ON FIRE IN THE DRIVEWAY ON IT'S OWN ABOUT 2 HOURS AFTER IT WAS DRIVEN HOME ON 4 NOV 2011. NO DRIVER - NO KEY IN THE VEHICLE WHEN IT CAUGHT FIRE. I SUBMITTED AN INITIAL REQUEST FOR REVIEW TO GM CLAIMS ALONG WITH ALL DOCUMENTATION THAT WE HAD VIA EMAILS AND OUR CLAIM WAS DENIED. *TR
SHORTLY AFTER BUYING THIS VEHICLE, I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS FAILURES OF THE POWER ASSIST STEERING SYSTEM. AT ANY SPEED, AT ANY TIME, "PWR STR" DIS DISPLAYED ON THE OBD DISPLAY, SIMULTANEOUSLY AS THE MOTOR STOPPED FUNCTIONING, FORCING ME TO UNEXPECTEDLY MANUALLY STEER THE CAR UNTIL THE IGNITION WAS CYCLED AND THE SYSTEM RESET. SOMETIMES THIS HAPPENS 1-7 TIMES A DAY. I HAVE PERSONALLY CAME CLOSE TO HAVING A SINGLE CAR ACCIDENT DUE TO POWER ASSIST FAILURE WHILE CURVING. THERE ARE NO OTHER PREVIOUS FAILURES OF THE STEERING EQUIPMENT LEADING UP TO THIS ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 SATURN ION. THE CONTACT MADE NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS BEFORE THE KEY WOULD RELEASE FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V171000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED AFTER THE RECALL REMEDY WAS PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WHEN PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE, THE POWER STEERING FAILED. BEFORE LEAVING THE PARKING SPACE I INSPECTED THE BELT- IT WAS INTACT- AND THE GROUND UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE- THERE WAS NO FLUID LOSS. STEERING THE CAR OUT OF THE PARKING SPACE REQUIRED GREAT EFFORT. PROCEEDING ON THE ROAD, THE POWER ASSIST SEEMED TO RETURN. I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT WHERE THE POWER ASSIST SEEMED TO BE WORKING FINE WITH A SHARP LEFT TURN, BUT NOT AT ALL ON A SHARP RIGHT TURN. FURTHER ALONG THE ROAD, WHEN MAKING A RIGHT TURN, THE POWER ASSIST SEEMED TO OPERATE NORMALLY. ALSO NORMAL POWER ASSIST WAS EXPERIENCE ON A LEFT TURN. I OPERATED THE VEHICLE FOR SEVERAL MORE SHORT TRIPS, STOPPING AND RESTARTING THE VEHICLE- THE PROBLEM DID NOT REPEAT ITSELF, BUT I HAVE READ ONLINE AND IN NEWS REPORTS THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR OTHER SATURN OWNERS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 SATURN ION 3. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 30 MPH WHEN THE POWER STEERING FAILURE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE LIGHT WENT OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 95,354.
WHEN I WAS GOING SOUTH ON I-95 IN GEORGIA I HEARD A WARNING TONE FROM MY SATURN AND SAW A WARNING ON MY DASH THAT WAS FOR THE POWER STEERING. IMMEDIATELY I COULD TELL I HAD LOST MY POWER STEERING BECAUSE CHANGING LANES FELT SLUGGISH AND A BIT DIFFICULT. (NOT PHYSICALLY DIFFICULT BUT MORE DIFFICULT THAN USUAL) THE LIGHT STAYS ON AND I HAVE NO POWER STEERING UNTIL I SHUT OFF THE CAR AND RESTART IT. THEN IT IS LIKE NOTHING HAS HAPPENED. AT SLOWER SPEEDS THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF FORCE THAT IS REQUIRED TO TURN. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS NOT FOR ME BUT FOR MY WIFE WHO CANNOT PHYSICALLY CONTROL THE CAR WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THIS IS DEFINITELY A DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF. *TR
WHILST DRIVING, MY CAR WOULD ACCELERATE ON IT'S OWN GOING ALMOST 45-50MPH. PRESSING THE BRAKES WOULD BARELY DO ANYTHING. IT WON'T START WHEN IT THINKS IT'S TOO COLD OUTSIDE, I'VE HAD THE BATTERY TESTED MULTIPLE TIMES AND IT IS FINE. ALSO, WHEN TRYING TO STOP THE CAR AND TAKE THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION IT RESISTS A LOT. HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES A WEEK. *TT

HE TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF, RESTARTED IT AND THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO FUNCTION NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,383.

I OWN A 2004 SATURN ION. THE ROOF OF THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED A SEVERE LEAK FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE. WATER WOULD ENTER THE VEHICLE RAPIDLY DURING HEAVY RAINS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 57,030. *TR
DRIVER WAS TURNING RIGHT AFTER STOPPING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. VEHICLE FAILED TO TURN IMMEDIATELY AND RAMMED INTO THE MEDIAN. DRIVER WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A CONCUSSION AT MEDICAL FACILITY. IN 2008, POWER STEERING WENT OUT ON VEHICLE - A WARNING WOULD SOUND AND THE PWR STR MESSAGE WOULD FLASH. DEALER REPLACED STEERING COLUMN. VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND IS CURRENTLY IN USE. POWER STEERING AGAIN WENT OUT, SAME SYMPTOMS, ON JULY 20, 2012. CURRENTLY THE POWER STEERING IS NOT WORKING. *TR

UPON RESTART, THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS NORMAL. THE FAILURE HAD SINCE RECURRED ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY EXPERIENCE A FAILURE IN WHICH IT WOULD NOT START. WHENEVER THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO WAIT APPROXIMATELY TEN MINUTES BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD SUCCESSFULLY START. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.

THE MECHANIC STATED TO THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS ELECTRICAL BUT DID NOT PROVIDE A COMPLETE DIAGNOSTIC. THE CONTACT REFERENCED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN UNDER NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: EA11014 (STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM) THAT COULD POSSIBLY HAVE BEEN RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
2004 SATURN ION. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO AIRBAG SAFETY RECALL. CONSUMER STATES THAT THEY WERE NEVER NOTIFIED OF RECALL AND DURING AN AUTO ACCIDENT AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *LD *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY SATURN ION 2004 THE POWER STEERING LIGHT IN THE DASHBOARD CAME ON WHILE I WAS ENGAGING IN A CURVE ON HIGHWAY 15, I WAS BARELY ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE NO TO CRASH ON THE CONCRETE MIDDLE DIVIDER AND HAD TO IMMOBILIZE THE VEHICLE, STOP THE ENGINE AND RESTART IT IN ORDER TO GET THE POWER STEERING TO WORK AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPEN TO ME FEW TIME PER YEAR OVER THE LAST 3 YEARS BUT NOW I AM AFRAID FOR MY LIFE AND IT IS HAPPENING MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY. *TR

THE OUTSIDE WINDOW WEATHER STRIPPING IS WARPING AND CRACKING CAUSING JAGGED EDGES. IT STARTED TO RIPPLING ON THE FRONT DOORS NOW IT IS STARTING TO DO IT ON THE REAR DOORS. I HAD TO JUST REPLACE WEATHER STRIP. *TR

THIS IS THE SECOND IGNITION SWITCH WE'VE HAD PUT IN THIS CAR, AND THERE ARE LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO. *TR
THE POWER STEERING IS FAILING NEARLY EVERY TIME THE CAR IS USED. IT FAILS WITHIN MINUTES AFTER THE CAR IS STARTED. MAKING TURNS REQUIRES A LOT OF EFFORT IN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CAR CAN STILL BE DRIVEN WITHOUT THE POWER STEERING, BUT ONE WOULD HARDLY CALL IT SAFE. *TR
ELECTRONIC ASSIST POWER STEERING FAILS WITHOUT ANY WARNING. STEERING BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE FOR SOME PEOPLE WHICH COULD LEAD TO LOSS OF CONTROL. *KB

SHE NOTICED THAT THE POWER STEERING WARNING ILLUMINATED AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND DRIVE IT TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER ADVISED HER THAT THE POWER STEERING ASSIST SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILES WERE APPROXIMATELY 113,900.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 SATURN ION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE POWER STEERING WOULD FAIL AFTER THE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD THEN BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO MANUEVER. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY A DEALER, NOR HAD IT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 103,000.
I HAVE HAD SAME PROBLEM WITH 2004 SATURN SINCE DAY WHEN I BOUGHT IT. TAKE TO DEALER AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. BOUGHT NEW BATTERY CAUSE THAT IS WHAT A MECH SAID TO DO NEED LARGER SIZE. LAST MONTH EVERY TIME NEVER FAILED YOU GET IN VEHICLE TURN KEY ON . SOUNDS LIKE IT WANTS TO START, BUT NO YOU HAVE TO WAIT 10 MIN THEN TURN KEY AND IT STARTS. COLD OR WARM WEATHER DIDN'T SEEM TO MATTER. I WAS TOLD MAYBE STARTER! SO I TOOK IT TO A NEW MECHANIC THAT I HAD A DEALING WITH ON ANOTHER ISSUE DIFFERENT VEHICLE. HE DID TESTING AND REPLACED THE PASS LOCK KEY . SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ALARMING SYSTEM. SO KNOCK ON WOOD.. THIS LAST WEEK STARTS EVERYTIME ITS WORKING. TOTAL COST FOR PART IS 250.00 PLUS YOU NEED TO HAVE NEW KEY MADE AND CODED. *TR

I DROVE LIKE THIS FOR ABOUT 5 MILES. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I WAS TOLD THAT DUE TO THE FACT I WAS OVER 150000 MILES IT VOIDED MY WARRANTY FOR THE DEFECT TO MY STEERING MOTOR. I SPENT OVER 500 DOLLARS TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE, NOW KNOWING THAT IT WAS AN EXISTING DEFECT KNOWN BY THE MANUFACTURER. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING BECAUSE IT WAS NOT COVERED BY A WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THEY COULD NOT ASSIST WITH REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000.

I LOST MY POWER STEERING AND THE PWR STR WARNING LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. WHEN I SAFELY EXITED, I READ THE OWNER'S MANUAL AND IT SAID THIS REQUIRES IMMEDIATE SERVICE. I WENT DIRECTLY TO A FIRESTONE DEALER BUT THEY WERE NEAR CLOSING AND COULD NOT PUT IT ON DIAGNOSTICS AND ASKED ME TO RETURN IN THE MORNING. HOWEVER, WHEN THEY STARTED THE CAR, THE WARNING LIGHT WAS OFF AND THE POWER STEERING ABILITY RETURNED. I RESEARCHED THIS ONLINE AND IT SEEMS THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM THAT PROMPTED GM TO RECALL OTHER GM VEHICLES IN MARCH 2010, BUT NOT THE SATURNS. WHILE THE PROBLEM MAY BE TEMPORARILY RESOLVED BY REPLACING 2 FUSES, THE ULTIMATE SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE THE STEERING COLUMN MOTOR WHICH IS A RATHER EXPENSIVE ITEM. I BELIEVE THE SATURNS SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL GM ISSUED. *TR
THE IGNITION WOULD NOT ENGAGE COULD NOT START THE CAR AND REPLACED THE ENTIRE SYSTEM AT 400.00 COST. LESS THAN A YEAR LATER, THE KEY NOW WILL NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION AND THE CAR WILL NOT TURN OFF. I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AND IT STILL WOULD NOT TURN OFF. AFTER MORE THAN 30 MINUTES, AND THE ENGINE OVERHEATING WE WERE ABLE TO PULL ENOUGH FUSES TO SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. THEY SAY I HAVE TO REPLACE THE SAME SYSTEM AGAIN. ABOUT THREE YEARS AGO IS WHEN I HAD MY FIRST PROBLEM WITH SPEED ACCELERATION WITH MY SATURN. I LEFT WORK AND TURNED ON MY CAR AND STARTED TO DRIVE AN HOUR TO GO HOME ALL THE SUDDEN MY CAR BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AND I WASN'T PRESSING THE GAS. MY VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AND I HAD TO KEEP MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN AND IT WAS STILL ACCELERATING. I HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND POP MY CAR INTO NEUTRAL GOING APPROXIMATELY 70MPH. I SOMEHOW MANAGED TO GET HOME BUT MY CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE WITHOUT ME PRESSING ON THE GAS. WHEN I WOULD TURN THE VEHICLE ON WHILE IT WAS STILL IN PARK THE RPM'S WOULD GO CRAZY AS IF I HAD MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED MY AUTO SHOP WHO INDICATED THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL INCIDENTS SINCE THEN AND ENDED UP CRASHING EARLIER THIS YEAR. MY VEHICLE SPED UP ON A SNOWY ROAD AND I LOST COMPLETE STEERING FOR MY VEHICLE, I NEARLY ROLLED MY CAR AND CRASHED HEAD ON INTO A SNOW BANK. MY AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED, AFTER I CONTACTED MY INSURANCE COMPANY THEY WERE SURPRISED WITH THE AMOUNT OF FRONT END DAMAGE I HAD ON MY VEHICLE THAT MY AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED BUT THEY DID NOT. I KNOW OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE ACCELERATING WITH NO APPLICATION OF THE GAS PETAL AND THE BRAKE PEDAL DOES LITTLE OR NOTHING TO STOP OR SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH WHEN THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY STIFF AND DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC YET THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE STEERING AND MOTOR MODULE WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.
MY CONCERN IS IN RELATION TO THE ONGOING MALFUNCTION OF THE WINDSHIELD WIPER SYSTEM AS A WHOLE. I HAVE NOT A HAD PROPER FUNCTIONING WINDSHIELD WIPER SYSTEM SINCE 2011 WHEN THE PROBLEM BEGAN. FIRST OCCURRENCE WAS WHILE DRIVING APPROX 40MPH ON THE INTERSTATE DURING A MODERATE SNOWFALL WHEN THE DRIVER SIDE WIPER ARM SEEMED TO GO OFF TRACK AND FORCEFULLY OVEREXTEND TO THE LEFT, COMPLETELY OFF OF THE WINDSHIELD. IT STAYED IN THAT POSITION UNTIL I COULD PULL OVER AND PLACE THE WIPER BACK ONTO THE WINDSHIELD. IT'S NOT BEEN RESOLVED AS THE ASSESSMENTS HAVE BEEN CONFLICTING, I.E. LOOSE BOLT/NUT, NEEDS NEW MOTOR, OR REPLACE ENTIRE SYSTEM. I HAD BOTH BLADES TIED TOGETHER SO THEY WOULD STAY ON COURSE BUT THAT HAD ITS OWN EFFECT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WIPER ARM. IT'S BECOME SO BAD THAT I CANNOT DRIVE IN THE RAIN/SNOW DUE TO NO VISIBILITY WITH INEFFECTIVE WIPER. I'VE SEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THIS SAME ISSUE AND JUST WANT TO KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. *TR
