The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MAIN FUEL LINE AND THE FUEL VAPOR LINE TO CANISTER RUSTED THROUGH AND THERE WERE HOLES ON THE FUEL LINES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MECHANIC REPLACED FUEL LINE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. FUEL LEAKING FROM TOP OF FUEL TANK, COMING FROM BROKEN PORT ON THE FUEL PUMP. THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE AS DOCUMENTED IN GM RECALL 09226C, BUT BECAUSE THIS VEHICLE ISN'T IN ANY OF THE STATES LISTED I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT OUT OF POCKET. HOW CAN A RECALL ONLY COVER VEHICLES IN CERTAIN STATES.

EXTREMELY STRONG FUEL SMELL HAS BEGUN THIS WEEK AFTER DRIVING VEHICLE AND IS PARKED. SEE NO LEAKS OF GASOLINE AROUND VEHICLE. HAS LOW MILEAGE FOR AGE, UNDER 90,000 MILES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBER: 8-4378095323. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
