MY HEADLIGHTS KEEP GOING OUT RANDOMLY AND THIS VERY UNSAFE AS I AM A SINGLE MOTHER OF 2 YOUNG CHILDREN! I HAVE HAD IT FIXED 4 TIMES! THE LAST TIME I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP, I WAS TOLD THE WIRING HARNESS KEEPS MELTING. I RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND MANY OTHERS ARE ALSO HAVING EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE.
THE PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM LIGHT NO LONGER WORKS, AND BULB REPLACEMENT DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. MECHANIC SAID THE WIRING HARNESS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS BURN OUT APPROXIMATELY EVERY 3-4 MONTHS. IT APPEARS THAT THERE IS MELTING OF THE LIGHTING ELECTRIC HARNESS. WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS GO OUT, THE ROAD IS NOT ILLUMINATED AS MUCH MAKING IT A SAFETY HAZARD.
DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHT IS DIM. DOES NOT EVEN PUT LIGHT ON THE ROAD. PASSENGERS SIDE HEADLIGHT IS BRIGHT BUT GOES ON AND OFF AT RANDOM TIMES. WHEN I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT NIGHT BOTH OF THEM WORK THEN THE PASSENGERS SIDE GOES OUT COMPLETELY AND BECAUSE THE DRIVERS SIDE IS SO DIM I CAN'T SEE
HEADLAMPS (DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE) LOW BEAMS KEEP BURNING OUT EVERY 3-4 MONTHS.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2009 SATURN OUTLOOK STOPPED WORKING. PER THE GM DEALER THEY CLAIMED THAT THERE IS A KNOWN DEFECT WITH THE LIGHTING ON THESE VEHICLES. CONSIDERING THESE ARE SAFETY ITEMS I'M NOT REALLY SURE WHY THERE ISN'T ALREADY A RECALL ON THIS. *TR
HEADLIGHT SOCKET GOT HOT AND MELTED THE WIRING. *TR
BOTH HEADLIGHTS NO LONGER WORK . . . UNLESS THE WIRES OR JIGGLED. BOTH HEADLAMP WIRE HARNESSES FAIL TO TURN ON BULB.
MY DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT HAS BURNT OUT THREE TIMES. I'VE HAD THE BULB REPLACED TWICE AND NOW AM TOLD THAT THE WIRE HARNESS IS BURNT AND MELTED, CAUSING THE SHORTS/BURNT BULBS. LABOR TO REPLACE THIS IS EXCESSIVE, DUE TO THE POOR ACCESS TO THE HEADLIGHT COMPARTMENT. *TR

REPLACE DRIVERS SIDE HEADLAMP NOVEMBER 6, 2011 IT HAS BURNED OUT AGAIN WITH ONLY 1800 MORE MILES THAN FIRST INCIDENT. SO BY DECEMBER 16, 2011 IT HAS BURNED OUT AGAIN. MY PREVIOUS VEHICLES I HAVE PUT CLOSE TO 200K MILES ON AND NEVER REPLACED ONE HEADLIGHT, NOW I HAVE 2. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. *TR
2009 SATURN OUTLOOK - I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE BOTH HEADLIGHTS AND HARNESSES, BECAUSE THE HARNESS SHORTED OUT. THE COST TO ME WAS APPROX. $600.00 TO REPLACE HARNESS AND LIGHT BULBS. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL. I HAVE ABOUT 55,000 MILES ON MY OUTLOOK. *TR
MY PASSENGER HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. I REPLACED IT AND IT WAS TEMPORARILY FIXED FOR 1 1/2 WEEKS WHEN IT WENT OUT AGAIN. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT AS WELL. SO I WAS DRIVING IN THE DARK WITH NO WORKING HEADLIGHTS. *TR
LOST FUNCTIONALITY OF HEADLIGHT ON DRIVERS SIDE LOW BEAM. REPLACE THE BULB TWICE AS BULB WOULD INITIALLY WORK BUT QUICKLY LOSE FUNCTIONALITY AGAIN. IT BECAME EVIDENT THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE PLUG. THE ISSUE IS NOT WITH THE BULB AS IF YOU WIGGLE THE WIRE GOING INTO PLUG THE BULB WILL RESUME FUNCTIONING. PLUG NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, THIS INCLUDES THE ASSEMBLY THAT CONTROLS ALL LIGHT FUNCTIONS. WE HAVE HEARD OF THIS COMPLAINT FROM MANY OTHER OUTLOOK OWNERS AS WELL. THIS DEFECT CONSIDERABLY LIMITS THE ABILITY TO DRIVE SAFELY AT NIGHT. *TT
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT ON 2009 SATURN OUTLOOK WILL NOT WORK DUE TO FAULTY WIRING HARNESS. *TR
I OWN A 2009 SATURN OUTLOOK, WHICH WAS PURCHASED IN MAY 2009. SINCE THEN WE'VE HAD BOTH HEADLIGHTS BURN OUT. I PREVIOUSLY HAD A 2001 SATURN SL1 AND IN THE 8 YEARS I HAD IT I NEVER HAD TO REPLACE A HEADLIGHT. I'VE READ THAT THERE IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE WIRING HARNESS. JUST TO CHANGE THE LIGHTBULB REQUIRES REMOVING THE ENTIRE BUMPER TO EVEN GET TO THE HEADLIGHT. SINCE THIS IS NOT AN EASY TASK IT THEN COSTS AT A MINIMUM OF $300 JUST TO GET A LIGHTBULB CHANGED! I UNFORTUNATELY MADE THE MISTAKE OF NOT RESEARCHING THIS BEFORE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE, BUT WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT IT WOULD COST ME AN ADDITIONAL $600 PLUS JUST TO CHANGE TWO LIGHTBULBS. *KB
PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT FAILED ON 07/09/2011, REDUCING NIGHT TIME EXTERIOR LIGHTING NECESSARY FOR SAFE OPERATION. I PURCHASED AND INSTALLED REPLACEMENT HEADLAMP ON 07/10/2011 WHICH SUBSEQUENTLY FAILED ON 07/15/2011. FURTHER EXAMINATION INDICATES A FAILED/FAILING HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESS SYSTEM PRECLUDING PROPER OPERATION OF THE EXTERIOR LIGHTING NECESSARY FOR SAFE NIGHTTIME OPERATION.
