PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR IS BROKEN. I REPLACED IT ONCE AND THE ENTIRE SEAT ONCE. *TR
SERVICE AIRBAGS SOON WARNING CAME ON INDICATING A PROBLEM WITH THE PASSIVE RESTRAINT SYSTEM. THE PRESSURE SENSOR ON THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS DIAGNOSED AS BAD. NOW THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS SHOWN AS OFF AND DOES NOT DETECT THE SEAT BELT STATUS. IT IS QUESTIONABLE WHETHER THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WILL DEPLOY NOW IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD HAVE DIRE CONSEQUENCES. UPON INVESTIGATING, THIS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE SATURN SKY AND PONTIAC SOLSTICE MODELS. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN SKY . THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE WHETHER THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS OCCUPIED OR NOT. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED TO THE CONTACT THAT THE SENSOR WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,025 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 7,420. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
2007 SATURN SKY REDLINE. CONSUMER STATES THE SENSOR HAS FAILED AND THE AIRBAG AND PERHAPS THE SEAT BELT MECHANISM WILL NOT ACTIVATE *TGW THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED IT WOULD COST $600 TO REPLACE THE SENSOR. ALSO, THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WOULD NOT HOLD. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE REAR BRAKE CALIPERS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $ 840. *JB

AFTER I PARKED MY SATURN SKY IN MY DAUGHTER-IN-LAW'S DRIVEWAY FOR APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES, MY SON-IN-LAW AND I HEARD A LOUD "POP" FROM MY SATURN SKY. ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER, MY SATURN SKY DRIFTED BACKWARDS OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY (SLIGHT DOWNHILL DIRECTION) AND INTO THE STREET. MY SON-IN-LAW RAN AFTER THE CAR AND CAUGHT UP TO IT JUST AS STOPPED DRIFTING BACKWARDS UPHILL IN THE STREET AND BEGAN DRIFTING FORWARD IN A DOWNHILL DIRECTION. HE WAS ABLE TO REACH INTO THE CAR (THE CONVERTIBLE TOP WAS DOWN) AND SET THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. WHILE DOING SO, THE CAR RAN OVER HIS FOOT INJURING HIS TOE. THANK GOD THERE WERE NO CHILDREN PLAYING IN THE DRIVEWAY! THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS INITIALLY SET SINCE THE DRIVEWAY DOES HAVE A SLIGHT SLOPE TOWARDS THE STREET, BUT AFTER COOLING DOWN FOR APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES, THE EMERGENCY BRAKE RELEASED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN SKY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE STARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. IN MARCH 2011 PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR FAILED. NEVER IN AN ACCIDENT. $700.00 TO REPLACE. NOW, MARCH 2014: MILEAGE 44,000. AGAIN NEVER IN AN ACCIDENT. AIRBAG SENSOR AND DIAGNOSTIC MODULE FAILURE. IT WILL BE $821.00 TO REPLACE. *TR

THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR IN MY VEHICLE FAILED SHORTLY (2 MOS) AFTER ITS 'BUMPER-TO-BUMPER' WARRANTY EXPIRED. ANY PASSENGER IN THE CAR FACES ADDED RISK IF AN ACCIDENT WERE TO OCCUR. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THE OWNER'S COST TO FIX THIS ITEM IS PROHIBITIVE ($500 - $800), AND THAT THE EARLY FAILURE OF THIS PART IS SOMEWHAT COMMON FOR THIS VEHICLE.
RIDING ALONG AND CAR DIED COULDN'T TURN KEY OR WHEEL HAD TO FLATBED NOW MY CAR WORN OPEN LOCKS WITH KEY OR MANUALLY SOMETIMES TURN KEY AND NOTHING HAPPENS THEN TRY AGAIN AND IT STARTS AFRAID TO LOCK IT CHANGED BATTERY IN KEY AND STILL WON'T REMOTER. *TR

SERVICE AIR BAG WARNING APPEARED ON DASH WITH NO PASSENGER IN THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THE WARNING APPEARS EVERY TIME I START THE CAR. WHEN A PASSENGER IS IN THE VEHICLE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG INDICATOR ALWAYS READS "OFF".
THE LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL FAILED ON MY 2007 SATURN SKY. THE FAILURE OF THIS COMPONENT CAUSED THE CAR TO SUDDENLY AND VIOLENTLY FISHTAIL WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN AT NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE CAR SUBSEQUENTLY SMASHED INTO THE CENTER MEDIAN, THEN BOUNCED INTO THE ADJACENT LANE WHERE IT COLLIDED WITH A LARGE SUV. THE SUV ROLLED OVER MY HOOD AND FLIPPED OVER ON ITS TOP. FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS INJURED. THE ACCIDENT RESULTED IN THE SUV BEING TOTALED AND SEVERE FRONT END DAMAGE TO MY CAR. THE FAILURE IN THE DIFFERENTIAL WAS FIRST DETECTED BY THE BODY REPAIR TECHNICIAN AND LATER VERIFIED BY A QUALIFIED GM DEALER. IT IS NOW BEING REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. CONDITION: WEATHER WAS SUNNY AND CLEAR. NO OIL OR WATER ON THE ROADWAY. SAFETY RECALL NHTSA 07V589000, POWER TRAIN AXLE ASSEMBLY AXLE SHAFT SEAL, WAS PERFORMED APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS EARLIER.
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT SAYS OFF. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME. THE FIRST TIME THE PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY.
I OWN A 2007 SATURN SKY AND HAVE FOR 31/2 YEARS IN THAT TIME THERE HASNT BEEN ANYBODY IN THE PASSENGER SEAT MAYBE A TOTAL OF 4 MONTHS. MY PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG SENSOR HAS ALREADY GONE BAD AND I KNOW ON THE SKYROADSTER AND THE SOLLSTICE FORUMS THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL MORE. THE SENSOR I THINK IS MADE BY NIPPONDENSO AND INSTALLED ON THE 2006-2009 SKY/SOLSTICE'S I DONT EXPECT GM TO SPEND A TON OF MONEY REPLACING THEM BUT THEY COULD AT LEAST COME UP WITH A MOD SO THE AIRBAG IS ON ALL THE TIME OR GO AFTER NIPPONDENSO FOR A INFERIOR PRODUCT. 2007 SATURN SKY TRAVELING IN EXCESS OF 50 MPH WITH TRAFFIC SOUTH ON RT2 IN EDGEWATER MD IN THE RIGHT LANE OF A 6 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY. A 2007 KIA TRAVELING EAST ACROSS THE 6 LANES OF TRAFFIC FAILED TO STOP FOR STOP SIGN. SKY HIT KIA HEAD ON IN TO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE KIA CENTERED ON THE PILLAR BETWEEN THE FRONT AND BACK DOORS. AIR BAGS IN THE 2007 SKY FAILED TO DEPLOY. *TR
IN 2009, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR BEGAN TO INTERMITTENTLY FAIL TO DETECT THE PRESENCE OF A PASSENGER. THE PASSENGER RESTRAINT LIGHT SOMETIMES REGISTERED "OFF", EVEN WHEN PASSENGER WAS PRESENT. BECAUSE IT WAS INTERMITTENT, THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. IN 2014, THE FAILURE BECAME EVER-PRESENT, WITH ADDITIONAL WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD, THE DRIVER INFORMATION SYSTEM, AND AN AUDIBLE WARNING CHIME ON IGNITION START. REPEATED CALLS TO GM HAVE HAD NO RESULTS. THE COMPANY LINE IS THAT THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY, AND THE PRODUCT LINE HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED. THE COST OF REPAIR IS SUBSTANTIAL, APPROACHING $1,000, FOR AN AIRBAG SENSOR MODULE LOCATED BENEATH THE PASSENGER SEAT. ALTHOUGH A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THE 2007 SATURN SKY AND PONTIAC SOLSTICE CARS, GM SAYS THAT THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE DESERVING A RECALL. *TR
YTD 2007 SATURN SKY HAS LOST THE USE OF IT'S EMERGENCY BRAKE. IT HAS BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES NOW. THE CAR ONLY HAS 41000 MILES.
TOOK MY 2007 SATURN SKY ( WITHIN WARRANTY) TO SATURN DEALER IN OCTOBER 2008 FOR SERVICE ON DEFECTIVE PASSENGER AIRBAG. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD SEVERAL OF THEIR PEOPLE SIT IN THE SEAT AND COULD NOT FIND A DEFECT (SO THEY SAID). THEY DID NOT PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC ! TODAY I TOOK THE SAME VEHICLE (NOW OUT OF WARRANTY, OF COURSE) TO CHEVROLET DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR IGNITION (RECALL) AND ASKED THEM TO ALSO LOOK AT PASSENGER AIRBAG. LO AND BEHOLD THEY FOUND A DEFECTIVE AIR BAG MODULE, AND IT WILL COST ME $800 TO REPLACE! IMAGINE THAT! THANKS GM! I AM JOINING IN WITH THE HUNDREDS OF OTHER SATURN SKY OWNERS AND ASKING: WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN A SAFETY RECALL ON THE SATURN SKY DEFECTIVE AIRBAG MODULE????!! *TR
WIRING TO MY AIR CONDITIONING BLOWER BURNT ON MY 2007 SATURN SKY. IT WOULD WORK OFF AND ON, FINALLY BROUGHT IT IN TO DEALER. I WAS TOLD BY SERVICE TECH THAT IF I KEPT USING IT MIGHT HAVE CAUSED A FIRE. WIRES ARE ON BACKORDER WHICH LEADS ME TO WONDER IF THIS MIGHT BE A PROBLEM ON ALL SATURN 2007 SKY'S. *TR
SINCE SEPTEMBER THE DEALER SATURN OF UNION, NJ HAS BEEN TRYING TO REPAIR MY CONVERTIBLE TOP ON MY CAR. THE TOP DOES NOT LOCK IN CORRECTLY, THERE HAS BEEN NUMEROUS REPLACEMENTS ON THE 2007 SATURN SKY TOPS FOR DEFECTS, SO MANY THAT SATURN HAS PUT A RESTRAINT ON THE DEALERS REPLACING TOPS. MY CAR HAS BEEN THERE 6 TIMES TIME AND STILL IT IS NOT REPAIRED. I HAVE A CASE WITH SATURN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND YET STILL NO REPAIR, THE TOP NOT LOCKING IN CORRECTLY IS DANGEROUS AN I AM AFRAID OF THE TOP BREAKING FREE WHILE DRIVING. IF A CORPORATION STOPS REPLACEMENT DUE TO MANY REPLACEMENTS SOMETHING IS WRONG, THEY KNOW THE TYPE TWO ROOFS ARE MUCH BETTER AND SAFER YET THEY ARE NOW RELUCTANT TO REPLACE THEM. *TR
ON JULY 23, 2008, AT APPROXIMATELY 1:30 A.M. I WAS DRIVING A 2007 SATURN SKY APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH DOWN THE ROAD. WHILE DRIVING, I PLACED MY LEFT SIGNAL LIGHT ON AND BEGAN TO ATTEMPT TO CHANGE LANES. AT THIS TIME, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO CHANGE LANES, THE STEERING WHEEL TURNED TO THE LEFT, HOWEVER THE TIRES DID NOT RESPOND. AS A RESULT OF THE MALFUNCTION, I WAS FORCED TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES. DUE TO THIS ACCIDENT, I HAVE SUSTAINED SERIOUS BODILY INJURIES, NAMELY, A SHATTERED MANDIBLE, A BROKEN ORBITAL BONE, A BROKEN NOSE, PARTIAL NUMBING OF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE FACE, AND SEVERE FACIAL SCARS. ADDITIONALLY, I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I MAY HAVE SUSTAINED PERMANENT PARTIAL FACIAL PARALYSIS ON THE LOWER LEFT SIDE OF MY FACE. *TR UPDATED 03-09-09 *BF (LAWYER WROTE IN ON BEHALF OF HIS CLIENT). OUR OFFICE HAS PREVIOUSLY FILED A COMPLAINT IN REGARD TO A 2007 SATURN SKY THAT WE BELIEVE IS DEFECTIVE. MY CLIENT'S NAME IS MATT CASTRO AND THE PENDING ODI NUMBER IS 10237967. ON SEPTEMBER 10, 2008 GENERAL MOTORS SENT OUT AN ACCIDENT INVESTIGATOR TO CONDUCT AN INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE. UPON COMPLETION OF THE INSPECTION, MR. BRISCOE NOTED SOMETHING PECULIAR ON THE SDM INFORMATION BOX. MR. BRISCOE, THE ACCIDENT INVESTIGATOR, FOUND THAT THE INFORMATION GIVEN ON THE BOX STATED THE MY CLIENT MATT CASTRO DID NOT HAVE HIS SEAT BELT ON AT THE TIME THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED. HOWEVER, POLICE REPORTS AND POLICE STATEMENTS PROVIDE THAT MY CLIENT HAD TO HAVE HIS SAFETY BELT CUT AWAY TO EXTRACT HIM FROM THE VEHICLE. THIS DISCREPANCY IS OF MONUMENTAL IMPORTANCE IF WE ARE TO RELY ON THE ACCURACY OF THE SDM DEVICES. SDM DEVICES MAIN PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE ACCURATE DATA AT THE TIME AN ACCIDENT OCCURS. A DEFECTIVE DEVICE FAILING TO RECORD ACCURATE DATA COMPROMISES ALL FURTHER INVESTIGATIONS OF THE VEHICLE. IT IS OUR HOPE THAT YOU ADDRESS THE DEFECTIVE SDM DEVICES ON THE SATURN SKY WITH URGENCY AS THIS PROBLEM COULD ONLY MAGNIFY SHOULD OTHER INCIDENTS ARISE. *TR

THERE WERE NO FAILURES PRIOR TO THE RECALL REPAIR. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A CONSTANT SQUEAKING NOISE IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. SATURN SKY FITTED WITH GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 GS-2 TIRES. BECAUSE OF NO TRACTION ON SLICK ROADWAY, CAR SPUN OUT WHILE SLOWLY ACCELERATING, CROSSED TWO LANES, AND HIT GUARDRAIL. ANTI-LOCK BRAKES AND COUNTER STEERING HAD NO EFFECT. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 SATURN SKY REDLINE AND CRASHED IT. ONSTAR DISPATCHED THE CALL AS AN "AIRBAG DEPLOYED ACCIDENT". THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I BRUISED MY RIB CAGE BADLY FROM SLAMMING INTO THE STEERING WHEEL, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A LOW MILEAGE, FRONTAL IMPACT. THE CAR IS STILL IN REPAIR. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN SKY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HOOD TO HER CONVERTIBLE DOES NOT HAVE A SECONDARY LATCH. AS A RESULT, THE HOOD RAPIDLY FLIES BACK AS IF IT WERE A SAIL. IF THE HOOD SPONTANEOUSLY OPENS WHILE DRIVING ON THE BELTWAY, IT COULD EASILY DETACH BECAUSE OF THE AIR PRESSURE FROM THE WIND. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE COMPONENT WAS NOT A WARRANTY ITEM; THEREFORE, SHE WOULD HAVE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE AT HER EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 13,900.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT IT WOULD TAKE THREE WEEKS FOR THE PART TO ARRIVE. THE FAILURE WAS REPAIRED 4 TIMES. THE CONTACT WAS STRANDED 30 MILES FROM HOME DUE TO ONE OF THE FAILURES. SHE THEN DECIDED TO SELL THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 6,000. THE SEALS WERE REPLACED TWICE
