TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN VUE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD AND THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT TIGHTENED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THRUST PERFORMANCE WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER CONTACTED HER ABOUT A WARRANTY. THE CONTACT DID NOT NOTIFY THE MANUFACTURER ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
HOOD STRUTS FAILED AT 48,000 MI AND HOOD SLAMMED SHUT WHILE CHANGING OIL.. NEW STRUTS WERE INSTALLED .
STIFF STEERING AT TIMES AROUND CORNERS. ALMOST LIKE NO POWER ASSISTING THE TURN. COMES BACK RIGHT AFTER THE TURN.
"TAKATA RECALL" MY 2008 SATURN VUE HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR 3 ITEMS, ALL OF WHICH I AM EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH BUT ACCORDING TO MY VIN NUMBER MY VEHICLE DOES NOT APPLY FOR THESE RECALLS. I DID RECEIVE A NOTICE A FEW YEARS AGO BUT SINCE MY VEHICLE WAS STILL OKAY AT THE TIME, I NEVER BROUGHT IT IN. THE 3 RECALLS ARE AS FOLLOWS: 1. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH, 2. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, 3. STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST:HOSE, PIPING, AND CONNECTIONS. MY VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT MIKE ANDERSON CHEVROLETT DUE TO THESE ISSUES BUT THE ONLY ITEM THAT'S APPEARING COVERED IS THE TRANSMISSION. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW MY VIN HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL WHEN ALL THE 2008 SATURN VUE'S ARE MADE WITH THE SAME PARTS. I WOULD LIKE AN INVESTIGATION TO BE MADE DUE TO MY VEHICLE FALLING UNDER THE RECALL CATEGORY BUT NOT FALLING UNDER THE CORRECT VIN NUMBER CATEGORY. MY VEHICLE CURRENTLY WON'T ALLOW ME TO GO PASS 40MPH, MY STEERING WHEEL GETS LOCKED MAKING IT HARD FOR ME TO TURN AND THERE IS A LEAK, ALSO WHEN MY LOCKS ARE UNLOCKED THE HANDLES STILL WON'T OPEN AS IF IT'S STILL LOCKED. IT'S MY TURN SIGNALS MY LOCKS AND MY FLASHERS HEADLIGHTS
I WAS DRIVING MY 2008 SATURN VUE STRAIGHT FORWARD AT 45 MPH, A BUICK ENCORE TURNED DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME AND I SLAMMED INTO THE BACK OF THEIR VEHICLE. MY CAR WAS TOTALED BUT MY AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY! I'M LUCKY I HAD MY SEAT BELT ON OR I WOULD HAVE GONE THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN VUE. WHILE DRIVING UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT ALUMINUM WAS IN THE POWER STEERING PUMP. THE STEERING PUMP AND RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,232.
TRAVELING AT 80 MPH ON INTERSTATE, STEPPED ON GAS TO CHANGE LANES, AND ENGINE REVVED, BUT NO POWER TO MOVE. HAD TO RUN OFF OF THE HIGHWAY ONTO THE GRASS BERM. BEFORE THAT HAPPENED, THE STEERING WHEEL HAD BEEN ACTING STRANGELY - MUCH VIBRATION AND PLAY. MY SISTER AND I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED HAD THE CAR OVERTURNED OR SOMETHING AT THAT SPEED. NOW I AM TOLD THE CAR NEEDS NEW TRANSMISSION, STRUTS, AND POWER STEERING ISSUE STILL BEING LOOKED AT. CAN I GET ANY HELP FROM GM DEALER WITH THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE. I READ THAT THESE EXACT ISSUES AFFECTED MY MODEL AND YEAR, WITH RECALLS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND ADVISE.
LOUD EXPLOSION FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THEN, SPARKS WITH FLAMES BEGAN, WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET. OTHER DRIVERS WAIVED & ALERTED US THAT FLAMES WERE COMING OUT. WE STOPPED & GOT OUT. THERE WAS A TRAIL OF OIL BEHIND. APPROX. 75 FT LONG. CHUNKS OF ENGINE METAL WAS RECOVERED OFF THE ROAD.

BRAKES LOCKUP WHEN DRIVING. ABS BRAKING SYSTEM LIGHT COMES ON. TOOK IT TO DEALER AND THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET. BRAKES LOCKED UP AGAIN AFTER TAKING TO DEALER. PLEASE HELP!! CAR WAS IN MOTION AT NORMAL SPEEDS 55 MPH WHEN THIS HAS HAPPENED ON 3 OCCASIONS.
THERE WAS A RECALL BULLETIN ISSUED FOR MY MODEL YEAR VEHICLE: HTTP://WWW-ODI.NHTSA.DOT.GOV/ACMS/CS/JAXRS/DOWNLOAD/DOC/UCM472842/RCRIT-14V614-0055.PDF HOWEVER, WHEN I CONTACTED MY CLOSEST GM DEALER THEY SAID THAT MY VIN WAS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS RECALL. THIS IS CONCERNING AS THE RECALL IS DESCRIBING THE EXACT PROBLEM W/ THE CAR AND HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED BY A SERVICE PROFESSIONAL. ONE OF THE CONNECTORS ON MY ECM SOMEHOW HAS BECOME CONTAMINATED AND IS CAUSING THE CAR TO UNEXPECTEDLY DIE WHILE IN USE. ALSO AS A RESULT, THE TCS/ESP/AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ALL COME ON AND REMAIN ON UNTIL THE COMPUTER CAN BE RESET. IT HAS DONE SO TWICE WHILE MY WIFE HAS BEEN DRIVING IT ON THE HIGHWAY, CREATING VERY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. IT STRANDS HER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD UNTIL WE CAN GET THE CAR STARTED AGAIN AND OFF THE HIGHWAY. THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHILE THE CAR IS IDLING, AND WHILE TRAVELING AT LOW SPEEDS OFF THE HIGHWAY. I UNDERSTAND THAT ONLY CERTAIN VINS ARE INVOLVED IN CERTAIN RECALLS, BUT SINCE THE PROBLEM IN THE RECALL BULLETIN LINKED ABOVE IS HAPPENING TO OUR VEHICLE AND OUR VEHICLE'S VIN IS NOT LISTED, I AM CONCERNED THERE COULD BE OTHERS THAT ARE NOT AWARE OF THIS AND COULD BECOME SERIOUSLY INJURED WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF. *TR
2008 SATURN VUE LOSES POWER STEERING ASSIST WHEN ENGINE BELOW 1000 RPM. POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL IS OK. THERE IS ALSO A WHINING NOISE THAT BECOMES LOUDER WHEN WHEEL IS TURNED IN ANY DIRECTION. NOISE IS SOMEWHAT DEPENDENT ON RPM, AS WELL.
I HAVE HAD ELECTRICAL AND CLIMATE CONTROL PROBLEMS SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR. MOST OF THE A/C COMPONENTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED. NOW I DON'T HAVE ANY A/C AT ALL. I'VE ALSO HAD HEATING PROBLEMS THAT REQUIRED TWO DIFFERENT REPAIRS WHICH WERE VERY EXPENSIVE. MY CAR IS GARAGE KEPT, WELL MAINTAINED AND IT ONLY HAS 30,000.
FIRST WAS THE PARKING BRAKE, AFTER SHOPPING IN WILLIAMSBURG MALL WE GOT BACK IN THE CAR AND WOULD NOT MOVE, THE PARKING BRAKES GOT STUCK.TOWED TO MECHANIC AND THEY RELEASED THE BRAKE SO THAT WE COULD GO BACK HOME, RICHMOND. AND TOLD ME NOT TO ENGAGE THE PARKING BRAKE TILL A MECHANIC IN MY CITY WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. TODAY DEC 12 2016, THE BRAKES STARTED TO LOCK WHILE DRIVIN HOME AFTER TAKING MY WIFE TO WORK, WITHIN THE CITY, I NOTICED THAT THE PEDAL WAS GETTING HARDER, I DID MADE HOME AND I CHECKED THE WHEELS,ALL FOUR, AND THE DISKS WERE VERY HOT TO THE TOUCH AND THE BRAKES ARE LOCKED, THE CAR IS ABOUT 58,000 MILES ONLY. ANY IDEA WHAT IS, I HAVE TO MENTION THAT 5/6 MONTH AGO I HAD PROBLEM WITH THE ABS, ALL LIGHTS CONCERNING THE BRAKES CAME ON, TRACTION AND ABS AND OTHERS, IT COST ME AROUND $300.00 TO FIX THAT PROBLEM. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO SOLUTION. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE. UPDATED 03/17/17*LJ
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN VUE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE TRACTION CONTROL INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE FRONT BRAKES SEIZED. THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 129,000.
WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND IT FAILED TO SHIFT FROM 1ST GEAR (CAR KEPT MOVING BUT THE RPMS WENT WAY UP). CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND CODES P0700, P0752 AND P0989 WERE PULLED FROM THE CAR. MECHANIC LOOKED AT THE CAR AND IT HAD TO BE SENT TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP. THE TRANSMISSION SHOP REBUILT THE TRANSMISSION WHICH INCLUDED A FAILED WAVE PLATE. THE NEW WAVE PLATE IS MUCH MORE ROBUST THAN THE ORIGINAL ONE. CAR WAS AT 125,844 MILES WHEN WORK COMPLETED. CONTACTED GM ABOUT THE SPECIAL COVERAGE THIS THIS TRANSMISSION. THE GM SPECIAL COVERAGE IS FOR 10 YEARS OR 120,000 MILES. UNFORTUNATELY OUR SATURN WOULD NOT BE COVERED REIMBURSED BY GM EVEN THOUGH THE WAVE PLATE FAILURE IS A KNOWN PROBLEM BY GM. GM SAID THAT ANYTHING ABOVE 120,000 MILES IS CONSIDERED NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR EVEN THOUGH IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN VUE. WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO PERFORM AS INTENDED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE IMPACT THRUST HER FACE INTO THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED LACERATIONS TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE FACE, WHIPLASH, AND A LACERATION TO THE LEFT KNEE, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. A FRIEND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT REPURCHASED THE VEHICLE TO PRESERVE ANY EVIDENCE PERTAINING TO THE SEAT BELT FAILURE. A LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER PERFORMED AN INVESTIGATION, BUT THE EVIDENCE WAS INCONCLUSIVE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
TAKADA RECALL
WHILE DRIVING TO SCHOOL MY 2008 SATURN VUE THE POWER STEERING SUDDENLY WENT OUT. I PARKED AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. AFTER 15MINUTES I RESTARTED IT AND STARTED DRIVING EVERYTHING WAS FINE. THIS IS THE 3TH TIME THAT IT HAPPENS. I SPEND SOME MONEY FIXING IT AND IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS THE PROBLEM OR WHAT PART I NEED TO REPLACE. I KNOW THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND THE GM IS DOING NOTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE CAR BEGAN HAVING ISSUES SHIFTING GEARS. PULLED OVER AND CHECKED MY FLUIDS. PROCEEDED TO CONTINUE DRIVING AND THE CAR WILL NOT SHIFT INTO REVERSE. HAD TO CALL FOR A TOW. THE CAR IS NOW PARKED.
WAS ON A STREET STOPPED AT A LIGHT , WENT TO GO AND WOULD NOT MOVE , STARTED TO MOVE AGAIN GOT A LITTLE WAYS DOWN THE STREET AND IT STOPPED AGAIN WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE SIDE BUT IT WOULD NOT MOVE AGAIN. CALLED A TOW TRUCK . ITS THE TRAMSMISSION.
MY VUE WENT OUT OF CONTROL, AFTER I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES, IT TOOK OFF LIKE A ROCKET , GOING FASTER AND FASTER UP TO 90 MILES PER HOUR, IT WOULD NOT STOP AND WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN, I THREW IT INTO NEUTRAL, AFTER 1 MIN THE ENGINE DIED, AND I COASTED FOR A FEW MIN
THE KEY STUCK IN THE KEY LOCK CYLINDER AND WOULD NOT TURN. THE SATURN VUE 08 HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER, AND THE KEY LOCK CYLINDER DRILLED OUT AND REPLACED. THE NEW KEY LOCK ASSEMBLY IS PERFORMING SIMILAR TO THE ONE THAT FAILED. THE KEY STICKS IN THE CYLINDER AND REQUIRES 4 OR 5 TRIES TO TURN THE IGNITION ON. IT WILL NOT PULL OUT EASILY, BUT JAMS AT THE INSIDE EDGE WHERE THE METAL SHANK OF THE KEY MEETS THE BLACK PLASTIC KEY CASING. THE NEW KEY LOCK ASSEMBLY METAL COVER ON THE STEERING COLUMN APPEARS TO BE CATCHING, AND SHOWS BENDING. THE NEW KEY SHOWS SEVERE SCRATCHES. THE REPLACEMENT KEY LOCK ASSEMBLY SILVER RECTANGULAR OPENING WHERE ONE INSERTS THE KEY DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE STURDY ENOUGH, AND IT BENDS EASILY CAUSING THE KEY TO CATCH. THE PROBLEM IS PROGRESSING, AND THE KEY IS STARTING TO STICK AS BEFORE, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN AND START THE CAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN A POORLY LIT PARKING LOT, IN LINE AT DRIVE THROUGHS, AND AT THE FILLING STATION. THE PROBLEM IS WORSENING. THE DEALER PROMISED THAT THE INITIAL $700-PLUS REPAIR IS UNDER WARRANTY, BUT DID NOT KEEP THE SCHEDULED REPAIR DATE.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE THE TRANSMISSION CONTINUED TO BECOME STUCK IN GEAR AND WOULD NOT CHANGE GEARS ON IT OWN. I WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER TO SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND TURN CAR COMPLETELY OFF ALLOW THE CAR TO SIT FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND RE-CRANK THE CAR FORCING CAR TO RESET TO GEAR 1. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON HIGH WAY AND DURING PULL OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN VUE. WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT, THE CONTACT NOTICED EXTENSIVE SMOKE ENTERING INTO THE VEHICLE WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER INTO A PARKING SPACE AND A FIRE ERUPTED UNDER THE HOOD. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE, BUT THE FLAMES WERE TOO INTENSE. A FIRE TRUCK ARRIVED TO EXTINGUISH THE FLAMES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A YARD TO BE INSPECTED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAVE LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL TO INDICATE AN ISSUE WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM ABS AND STABILITY RESPONSE TO MY VEHICLE. THE TECHNICIAN AT NTB STATED MY WIRING HARNESS IS CORRODED. TO ME THIS IS NOT A NORMAL THING TO HAVE GENERAL MAINTENANCE. THERE IS NO CURRENT RECALLS NOTED FOR THIS AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. ALTHOUGH I CAN STILL BRAKE THE CAR.
WHILE IN MOTION THE FRONT BRAKES STARTED TO ENGAGE THEMSELVES. VEHICLE DID NOT WANT TO MOVE VERY WELL.VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN QUICKLY WHEN LETTING OFF THE GAS PEDAL CAME TO A STOP WITHOUT PRESSING THE BRAKE. PULLED OVER AND BOTH FRONT WHEELS WERE SMOKING.
MY TRANSMISSION WAVE PLATE SHATTERED IN MY 2008 SATURN VUE. I WAS DRIVING HOME WHEN THE WAVE PLATE SHATTERED. I HAD THE VEHICLE FIXED AT A THIRD PARTY AUTO SHOP AS I WAS NOT AWARE THAT GM HAD EXTENDED THE TRANSMISSION WARRANTY TO 3/20/2018 OR 120,055 MILES WHICH EVER OCCURRED FIRST. MY WAVE PLATE BROKE ON 5/24/2016 AT 79167 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. I HAVE DENIED REIMBURSEMENT SATING I DID NOT SUBMIT BY RECEIPTS BY THE EXPATRIATION DATE. WHEN I INQUIRED ON WHAT THAT DATE WAS I WAS INFORMED THEY HAD NO IDEA. I WILL CONTINUE TO FIGHT THIS UNTIL I AM RIGHTFULLY REIMBURSED FOR THESE REPAIRS PER THE EXTENDED TRANSMISSION WARRANTY THAT GM PUT OUT FOR THE KNOWN WAVE PLATE ISSUE. I HAVE ATTACHED MY ORIGINAL EMAIL CHAIN WITH SATURN/GM CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT INDICATES THE EXTEND TRANSMISSION WARRANTY DATE AND MILEAGE AND THE MY VEHICLES VIN QUALIFIED, MY RECONSIDERATION LETTER AFTER FIRST DENIAL AND RECEIPT OF THE REPAIR WORK THAT WAS COMPLETED. ALL I AM LOOKING FOR IS TO RIGHTFULLY REIMBURSED BY GM FOR THE EXTENDED TRANSMISSION WARRANTY THEY PUT IN PLACE FOR A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THERE VEHICLES.
2008 SATURN VUE, LIFTGATE GAS STRUTS THAT HOLD THE LIFTGATE UP WHEN OPEN. THESE STRUTS FAILED AND THE OPEN LIFTGATE SUDDENLY FALLED AND UNEXPECTEDLY IT STRIKES ME ON HEAD. CAR WAS PARKED IN LEVEL DRIVEWAY AND I JUST OPEN IT UP - 7 SECONDS LATER IT CRUSHED MY HEAD. VERY UNSTABLE AND DANGEROUS TO CLOSE WITHOUT GAS STRUTS IT'S TOO HEAVY AND SLAMS CLOSED.
BOTH HEADLIGHT WIRING MELTED. REPLACED BOTH SIDE HEADLIGHTS AND AFTER 2 YEARS THE WIRE HARNESS MELTED AGAIN THE PARKING PAWL GETS STUCK OFTEN. WHEN PUTTING THE CAR IN REVERSE THE PARKING PAWL GETS STUCK. THEN IT WILL EVENTUALLY GO INTO REVERSE BUT THE CAR JERKS AND MAKES A CLUNKING NOISE. THE LIGHT ISSUE I'VE BEEN DEALING WITH FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS NOW. THE PARKING PAWL ISSUE HAS BEEN LIKE THIS FOR OVER A YEAR NOW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN VUE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALER FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR SUBFRAME OF THE VEHICLE WAS SEVERELY CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 157,955.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN VUE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. ALSO, THE DOORS WOULD SUDDENLY LOCK AND UNLOCK AND THE LIGHTING ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FLASHED. THE CONTACT STATED THERE WERE MANY OTHER ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONS THAT WOULD OCCUR WITHOUT WARNING. IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE TO FUNCTION CORRECTLY, THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN THE VEHICLE ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
TRANSMISSION FAULT AND/OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WITH CODE P0716, P0776, P0717, P0777, P2714, P2715, AND/OR P02723 ON SATURN VUE VEHICLES WITH A 6SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION MAY DEVELOP ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING FAULTS RELATED TO A BROKEN 35R CLUTCH WAVE PLATE INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION: ILLUMINATION OF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WITH CODE P0716, P0776, P0717, P0777, P2714, P2715, AND/OR P02723, LOSS OF REVERSE GEAR, SLIPPING OR HARSH 3RD OR 5TH GEAR SHIFT. REMOVAL AND DIS-ASSEMBLY OF THE TRANSMISSION WILL BE REQUIRED TO REPLACE THE BROKEN 35R WAVE PLATE. IT IS ALSO EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT ALL DEBRIS FROM THE FAILED PART BE CLEANED FROM THE TRANSMISSION WHILE IT IS DISASSEMBLED IN ORDER TO TRY AND PREVENT FUTURE PROBLEMS THIS AFFECTED 4 MODEL YEARS: 2003, 2006, 2008 AND 2009 WHY WASN'T A RECALL DONE ON THIS? NOW I'M OUT OF POCKET FOR THE EXPENSE OF REPLACING MY TRANSMISSION.
THE BOLT IN THE STEERING COLUMN BROKE. THUS WHEN YOU TURNED THE WHEEL, THE TIRES DID NOT TURN.
THE PASSENGER WIPER ARM DISCONNECTED FROM THE MOTOR WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN THE RAIN. LUCKY I WAS NEAR MY HOME AT THE TIME.
POWER STEERING INTERMITTENTLY STOPS WORKING MAKING VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER VEHICLE
AFTER STARTING MY VEHICLE, THE STEERING WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. I TRIED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT AND CANNOT TURN IT IN EITHER DIRECTION. IT'S LOCKED UP!!!! I'M JUST THANKFUL I WAS NOT DRIVING WHEN THIS HAPPENED
THE TRANSMISSION HAS EPISODES WHERE IT WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF SECOND GEAR. I HAVE TO PULL OVER, TURN OFF THE CAR AND RE- START IT. MOST OF THE TIME IT WILL SHIFT INTO GEAR AFTER DOING THIS, BUT THIS PAST WEEK IT HAS NOT TAKEN CARE OF THE PROBLEM. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN OCT. 2015. AND IT STARTED DOING THIS 3 DAYS AFTER I BOUGHT IT. I AM AWARE THAT GM HAS SEVERAL MODEL VEHICLES, INCLUDING SOME SATURNS, WHICH HAVE ON- STAR THAT HAVE FAULTY WAVE PLATES AND HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM. AFTER READING SOME OF THE COMPLAINTS FROM SOME OF THE OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES, IT SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE WHAT MY CAR IS DOING.I DON'T KNOW WHO TO CONTACT ABOUT THIS. BUT FYI...SATURN HAS ALREADY HAD A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST THEM FOR THE 2004-2005 MODEL TRANSMISSION PROBLEM- OR SO I'M TOLD.
CAR HAS 40000 MILES ON IT . LOST REVERSE GEAR AND HAS TROUBLE SHIFTING GEARS. IS IN SHOP. TOLD WE NEED TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION. PROBLEMS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING.
AFTER DRIVING MY CAR THE IGNITION KEY WOULD NOT TURN TO THE "OFF" POSITION ONCE THE CAR IS STOPPED AND THE SHIFTER IN PARK. THE KEY WAS STUCK THE AFTER DRIVING ? HAD POWER BUT I COULDNT REMOVE MY KEY , ITS STUCK , COULDN'T MOVE MY STEERING WHEEL ITS LOCKED. I TRIED MOVING BACK INTO THE PARK POSITION SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE IGNITION KEY WOULD RELEASE ALLOWING THE KEY OUT SO CAN LEAVE. KEY IN "OFF" POSITION. I COULDNT REMOVE THE KEY, STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP, THIS HAPPENED TWICE NOW ? BOTH TIMES AFTER DRIVING IN ON SLIGHTLY BUMPY ROAD FWY. ?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN VUE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND CALLED AAA ROAD SERVICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT A METAL PART WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO SUBMIT A LETTER, DETAILING THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
