There are 3 owner-reported lighting complaints for the 2017 Tesla Model Xin NHTSA's database. These are unverified consumer reports and may not reflect confirmed defects.
My headlights always tuned on automatically whenever the windshield wipers would turn on as required by Florida law. After a software update a few months ago, this functionality is no longer occurring. I must now manually turn on the headlights if it is raining and my windshield wipers turn on. I reported this to my local Tesla Service Center, and they were aware of the issue and stated that a future software update would correct this issue and return the functionality. I am still waiting for this to be corrected. Not only does this lead to a safety issue, but it also violates state law if the wipers turn on in the rain and the lights do not. Please note that I received a software update (2021.44.5) last night and this issue is still not corrected or addressed.
TESLA TOUCHSCREEN FUNCTIONS BECOME MISSING, SCREEN GOES BLANK, NO REARVIEW CAMERA AND THE ABILITY TO TURN ON AND OFF DEFROSTER SETTINGS AND HEADLIGHTS BECOME MISSING.
THE TOUCHSCREEN WENT BLACK WHILE DRIVING CAUSING THE LIGHTS TO GO OUT. THE SCREEN HAS GONE OUT MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE PAST 6 WEEKS REQUIRING REBOOTING. EACH TIME THE SCREEN GOES OUT MORE FEATURES ARE AFFECTED.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
