I PURCHASED 4 YOKOHAMA GEOLANDER H/T-S ON A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP ON 02/2013. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR MY ANNUAL STATE SAFETY INSPECTION THIS YEAR ON 02/2015 I WAS TOLD AND IT WAS BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT MY TIRE ARE CRACKING BETWEEN THE INSIDE AND THE OUTSIDE TREADS. THIS TREAD SEPARATION CRACKING IS AN UNSAFE CONDITION. THE SHOP CONTACTED TIRE COMPANY THAT SUPPLIED THEM THE TIRE AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD ONLY CREDIT ME 35% OF THE ORIGINAL TIRE PRICE THEY WOULD BE REPLACED WITH ANOTHER YOKOHAMA TIRE. THESE TIRES ARE 2 YEARS OLD AND HAVE 30,000 MILES ON THEM. IT SEEMS I AM BEING PUT IN DANGER IF I DON'T HAVE THEM REPLACED AND SEEMS I AM GETTING RIPPED OFF IF I DO HAVE THEM REPLACED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 TOYOTA 4RUNNER EQUIPPED WITH SPECTOR ADVANTA SUV LT265/70/R16 TIRES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THERE WERE BLISTERS ON THE SIDEWALLS OF THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE, EXPOSING THE WHITE MATERIAL INSIDE OF THE TREAD. IN ADDITION, THE TREAD ON THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE WAS RAISED AND THE CONTACT BELIEVED IT WAS DUE TO A BROKEN PIECE OF THE TREAD BELT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE TIRES WERE INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE AT 140,000 MILES AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 159,000.
WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE EXPLODED. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL, AND PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.*AK
TIRE BLOW OUT CAUSED VEHICLE TO HIT A GUARDRAIL. *MR (THE LEFT TIRE EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT) THE CONSUMER HAD MOVED OVER TO THE MIDDLE LANE WHEN THE TIRE BLEW. *SCC *JB
THE RIGHT REAR TIRE BLEW OUT. IT WAS DISCOVERED THE TIRE CONTAINED A 3 INCH GASH WITHOUT BEING PUNCTURE. *JB *TS *JB
CONSUMER STATES THAT WHILE DRIVING THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL FELL OFF, AND VEHICLE RAN OFF THE SIDE OFF THE ROAD.CAUSING INJURIES TO OCCUPANTS.
LEFT REAR TIRE SUDDENLY FAILED WHILE I WAS TOWING A 3000 LB TRAILER ON A MAJOR FREEWAY. THE REAR OF THE TOYOTA STARTED TO SWAY WHICH IN TURN CAUSED THE TRAILER TO START TO SWAY. THE TOYOTA SWUNG BACK AND FORTH VIOLENTLY AND NEARLY ROLLED OVER. DAMAGE WAS DONE TO BOTH THE TRAILER AND THE TOYOTA AS THE TWO VEHICLES JACK KNIFED AND STRUCK EACH OTHER. I WAS ABLE TO COME TO A STOP ON A ROUGH SHOULDER OF THE ROAD WHICH DID ADDITIONAL DAMAGE. I BELIEVE THE GOODYEAR TIRES WERE NOT SUFFICIENTLY HEAVY DUTY FOR 4 WHEELING ON PRIMITIVE ROADS AND TRAILER TOWING. THE 4RUNNER CAME WITH A TOWING PACKAGE WHICH ALSO WAS INADEQUATE. THE SOCK ABSORBERS ARE TOO SOFT FOR STABLE TOWING. ADJUSTABLE STIFFER SHOCKS SHOULD BE PROVIDED ON SUCH A VEHICLE AS WELL AS SOME KIND OF VEHICLE LEVELING SYSTEM TO PROVIDE MORE STABLE TOWING. I CONTACTED THE FIRESTONE ORGANIZATION TO POSSIBLY HAVE THE TIRE REPLACED BECAUSE I HAD APPREHENSIONS ABOUT THE TIRES, AND THEY REFUSED TO REPLACE THEM. THE CAR WAS BRAND NEW AND I FELT THE TIRES SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED AT NO COST TO ME.*AK (TIRESIZE: 175/50R)( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: 175/50R )

WHILE TRAVELIN GON HIGHWAY AT 30 MPH HEARD A NOISE. PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDERS, AND NOTICED THAT RIGHT REAR TIRE TREAD HAD SEPARATED.*AK
REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES BECAUSE OF VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. WE HAD THESE TIRES BALANCED AND CHECKED OVER 8 TIMES AT NUMEROUS DEALERS, BUT BECAUSE OF FORD RECALL, THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I REMOVED THE TIRES FROM MY VEHICLE AT 14,000 MILES DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS ABOUT THE VIBRATION. I STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL TIRES. THE FIRESTONE DEALER WOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING ABOUT IT HAD THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL IN EFFECT. WHEN I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE, I DID NOT WANT FIRESTONE TIRES ON THE VEHICLE, BUT THE DEALER SAID THE TRUCK TIRES WERE FINE. (I HAD HAD A FIRSTSTONE TIRE COME APART ON MY 98 COROLLA ON THE HIGHWAY WHICH PUT MY SON IN THE DITCH WITH SOME 250 DOLLARS WORTH OF DAMAGE TO THE CAR. ) THE LATEST INCIDENT WAS THE 4 RUNNER FIRESTONE AT11 LOST AIR RAPIDLY ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY SON BUT HE WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN QUICKLY BEFORE IT FLATTENED COMPLETELY.. THE TIRE DEALER SAID IT WAS A PUNTURE IN THE SIDE WALL BUT I DO NOT BELIEVE IT. THIS TIRE HAD LESS THAN 06000 MILES ON IT. I AM GOING TO CHANGE OUT THE THIS SET OF TIRES AND SPEND 400 DOLLARS FOR MY SON'S SAFETY. (I TOOK THE FIRESTONE TIRES OF THE COROLLA AT 3000 MILES BECAUSE OF THE INCIDENT). THE TIRE HAS NOT ACTUALLY FAILED. THE TIRE SHOWED IRREGULAR WEAR AFTER A TRIP OF 2500 MILES. THE TIRE WAS MOVED TO THE REAR AND IS PRESENTLY MAKING A HUMMING NOISE. I WILL PROCEDE TO FIRESTONE THIS WEEK TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT.*AK( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: 205/15 )
