TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 TOYOTA AVALON. WHILE DRIVING 3 MPH WITH THE BRAKES APPLIED, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT APPLIED MORE PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES; HOWEVER , THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP AND CRASHED INTO SOME BUSHES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNING INDICATORS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE AND THERE WERE NO ERROR CODES. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 45,000. 2003 TOYOTA AVALON WITH UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED HE SOLD THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT WANTED TO DETAIL THE EVENTS OF THE ACCIDENT. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE VEHICLE, IT SUDDENLY SURGED FORWARD AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE OVER A CURB, THROUGH THE BUSHES AND INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. A TOYOTA REPRESENTATIVE SUGGESTED THAT PERHAPS BOTH PEDALS WERE DEPRESSED SIMULTANEOUSLY OR THAT PERHAPS THE FLOOR MAT WAS PRESSED AGAINST THE GAS PEDAL. THE CONSUMER STATED NEITHER HAPPENED. THE CONSUMER STATED THE WAS THE THIRD INCIDENT OF SUDDEN ACCELERATION THAT HAD SHE HAD EXPERIENCED IN THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FIRST TWO WERE NOT SEVERE ENOUGH TO WARRANT A POLICE REPORT. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 TOYOTA AVALON. WHILE PARKING THE VEHICLE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ENGAGED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 5 MPH. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP, AND IT CRASHED INTO A PARKED FORD PICK UP TRUCK. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE NOT A FACTOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED ,AND THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A SHOULDER INJURY DUE TO THE SEAT BELT. THE PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT STATED DUE TO THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT SHE WAS HAVING HEARING PROBLEMS AND EXPERIENCED DISCOMFORT TO HER TEETH. THE PASSENGER IN THE BACK SEAT EXPERIENCED CHEST PAINS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED TO DETERMINE THE REASON FOR THE UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THEY RECEIVED VEHICLE BACK BUT ARE CONCERNED THAT THIS INCIDENT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. UPDATE 5/3/07*TR THE CONSUMER STATED THEY HAD AN ACCIDENT CAUSED BY RAPID ACCELERATION AND CAUSED OVER $13,500 IN DAMAGES. THE CONSUMER FURTHER STATED THEY ESCAPED THE ACCIDENT WITH MINOR BRUISES AND THEY HAVE RETRIEVED VIA WEBSITE 9 OTHER CASES WITH SAME MAKE AND MODEL AS THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE AND SINCE REPORTED TO THE AGENCY. THE CONSUMER STATED WOULD LIKE AN INVESTIGATION DONE DUE TO THE FACT THAT AN ARTICLE IN THE WASHINGTON POST STATED AN ALL WEATHER FLOOR MAT CAN TRAP THE THROTTLE PEDAL WHEN NOT PROPERLY SECURED AND CONSUMER IS WONDERING WHETHER THIS IS IN FACT WHAT HAPPENED TO THEIR VEHICLE. *TR

TL* - THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 TOYOTA AVALON. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH INTO A PARKING LOT THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16930. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED FOR A SECOND OPINION, HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING NORMALLY. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17000.*AK UPDATED 04/12/07. *JB
ON AUGUST 30, 2006 MY 2003 TOYOTA AVALON ACCELERATED AND I WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE CAR. MY VEHICLE SUBSEQUENTLY CRASHED INTO MY NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE. MY DAUGHTER AND I WERE IN THE CAR AND RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES BUT THERE WAS MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE HOME AND THE CAR WHICH WAS A TOTAL LOSS. *CN
WE HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR 3 YEARS. THE VEHICLE PULLS TO THE LEFT. THE DEALERSHIP REALIGNED THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. WE ALSO HAD A SEPARATE GARAGE WHO SPECIALIZES IN WHEEL ALIGNMENTS, EARLIER THIS YEAR, TRY AND ALIGN IT. HE STATED THAT THE PARTS OF THE VEHICLE THAT CONTROL THIS WERE SWITCHED,( I.E. THE LEFT WHEEL PART WAS IN THE RIGHT WHEEL PART, AND ETC.) WHEN WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP, THEY STATED THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. THE TIRES ARE IN GOOD CONDITION AND DO NOT EXHIBIT ABNORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. THE VEHICLE STILL PULLS TO THE LEFT. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE BRAKE, VSC, AND TRACTION OFF LIGHTS ON THE DASH ILLUMINATED AND STAYS ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER 6-7 TIMES. THE BRAKE FLUID WAS FOUND TO BE LEAKING AND WAS REFILLED. THE NEXT TIME IT WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER A COMPLETE BRAKE JOB WAS PERFORMED BUT THE CONTACT DOES NOT KNOW WHAT PARTS WERE REPLACED. THE DEALER HAS DETERMINED THE PROBLEM CAN NOT BE FOUND AND THE VEHICLE IS STILL LEAKING BRAKE FLUID. *AK UPDATED 7/7//2006 - *NM
IN 2006 MY WIFE EXPERIENCED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION IN OUR 2003 TOYOTA AVALON. THIS HAPPENED IN A PARKING GARAGE, AS SHE WAS SLOWLY EASING INTO A PARKING SPACE, THE CAR SUDDENLY SPEEDED UP AND CRASHED INTO THE WALL OF THE PARKING GARAGE, CAUSING EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF THE CAR. SHE CLAIMED SHE DID NOT HAVE HER FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR, BUT ON THE BRAKE. AFTER HAVING THE CAR REPAIRED BY A COLLISION BUSINESS, THE TOYOTA DEALER SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE ACCELERATOR. IT HAPPENED A COUPLE OF YEARS LATER, BUT THIS TIME A CONCRETE PARKING STRIP STOPPED HER AFTER SHE MOVED IT ABOUT THREE FEET. HER FRIEND THAT WAS WITH HER WAS REALLY SCARED. *TR
2003 TOYOTA AVALON XLS. STALLED WHILE DRIVING. HAD TO LEAVE THE CAR IN STREET AND WALK HOME. WOULD NOT RESTART FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES. ALSO WOULD START, THEN STALL AND NOT RESTART FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES ON OTHER OCCASIONS INTERMITTENTLY. THIS WAS VERY CONCERNING BECAUSE THE ENGINE WOULD JUST TURN OFF DURING DRIVING AND NOT RESTART. TOOK TO B&D AUTO REPAIR, WHO COULD NOT REPLICATE PROBLEM AND THEN CALLED TOYOTA DEALERSHIP IN CARLSBAD WHO TOLD THEM WAS PROBABLY THE IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE AS THEY HAD BEEN FINDING THIS AN ISSUE WITH AVALONS. SO B&D AUTO REPLACED THE IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE AND THE PROBLEM NEVER RECURRED. THIS COST US $500. I HAVE THE RECEIPT FOR THE DATE OF 5-5-2006 REPAIR. OUR FRIENDS HAVE THE SAME VEHICLE, SAME YEAR AND THEY BEGAN TO HAVE THE SAME DIFFICULTY WITH THEIR 2003 AVALON A FEW WEEKS LATER AND HAD TO HAVE THE SAME REPAIR DONE AND THEIR PROBLEM THEN WENT AWAY AS WELL. TODAY, I PHONED B&D AUTO AND BERNIE ( THE MAN WHO TOOK CARE OF MY CAR IN 2006) INFORMED ME THAT THEY ARE CURRENTLY HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH APPROXIMATELY ONE TOYOTA VEHICLE PER WEEK, AND THEY ARE REPLACING THE IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVES. HE STATED THAT THIS INCLUDES RAV 4, TACOMA, CAMRY, AVALON, AND FORERUNNERS. I AM LETTING YOU KNOW THIS INFORMATION BECAUSE TODAY THE WALL STREET JOURNAL HAD AN ARTICLE THAT STATES THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH 2006 TOYOTA COROLLAS AND MATRIX VEHICLES. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY MUCH FARTHER REACHING THAN THIS ARTICLE STATES AND I HOPE IT WILL BE INVESTIGATED FURTHER BECAUSE OF THE DANGER OF THIS DIFFICULTY TO ALL OF THOSE DRIVING OR OCCUPYING A VEHICLE WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I AM WONDERING IF THERE HAVE BEEN ACCIDENTS OR DEATHS DUE TO THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM? I WAS VERY CONCERNED THAT MY CAR WOULD TURN OFF ON THE HIGH SPEED LANE OF THE FREEWAY. 2003, TOYOTA AVALON, BACKING UP, SUDDEN ACCELERATION, POLE STOPPED CAR, BRAKES DIDN'T STOP RACING ENGINE, PUT CAR IN DRIVE, SHOT FORWARD INTO GOLF COURSE, BRAKES WOULDN'T WORK, PUT CAR IN PARK, DIDN'T STOP CAR, HIT TREES, UTILITY POLE, TRIED TO STEER, LITTLE OR NO RESPONSE, TURNED KEY OFF, CAR FINALLY STOPPED, CAR TOTALED, AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, SEAT BELT ON, BUT IMPACT MADE HEAD HIT LEFT SIDE OF WINDSHIELD, RECEIVED CONCUSSION, OVERNIGHT HOSPITAL STAY. REPORTED TO TOYOTA, THEY WANTED CAR, WE REFUSED TO LET THEM HAVE IT. TOYOTA SENT INSPECTOR HE REFUSED TO OPEN HOOD, OR PUT AUTO ON HOIST TO EXAMINE, REFUSED TO EXAMINE, JUST TOOK PICTURES. THEN TOYOTA ATTORNEY SENT LETTER SAYING THEY COULDN'T SEE FROM THEIR EXAMINATION THAT THE CAR FAILED. HAD 3 WITTINESS THAT TOYOTA INSPECTOR REFUSED TO INSPECT CAR. MY AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE TOTALED AUTO AND SETTLED, THEY TOOK AUTO. *JB
2003 TOYOTA AVALON. CONSUMER STATES FRONT END ALIGNMENT PROBLEMS *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED DUE TO THE OUTLANDISH TIRE WEAR, HE HAD TO PURCHASE THREE SETS OF TIRES. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HAD SIX ALIGNMENTS PERFORMED. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS SOLD, THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO CORRECT THE DRIFTING TO THE LEFT BY REPAIRING THE STEERING SYSTEM, IN WHICH A RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED. *JB

TECHNICIANS STATED ON FIRST VISIT UNABLE TO DETECT ANY NOISE. SECOND VISIT, ABILITY TO DETECT NOISE APPARENT, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO WARRANT REPAIR. THIRD VISIT, ABILITY TO DETECT NOISE APPARENT, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO WARRANT REPAIR. WHEN NOISE WORSENS, BRING VEHICLE BACK INTO SERVICE. NO PARTS WERE REPLACED OR REPAIRED TO DATE.*AK
MY MOTHER-IN-LAW WHO ALWAYS WORE HER SEAT BELT WAS DRIVING HOME AT NIGHT AND SOMEHOW RAN OFF THE ROAD HIT A LITTLE CHERRY TREE AND WAS THROWN FROM HER CAR & KILLED HER. THE SIDE NOR THE FRONT AIR BAGS WENT OFF. AND APPARENTLY THE SEAT BELTS FAILED TOO. THE HIGHWAY PARTROL CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT HAPPENED.*AK
CONSUMER PLACED HANDS BETWEEN THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER'S SIDE SEATS TO RETRIEVE A PAIR OF KEYS. WHILE PULLING UP THE KEYS FROM THE SIDE OF THE SEAT WAS A METAL PART STICKING OUT FROM THE SIDE. THIS CAUSED THE DRIVER'S RIGHT HAND FINGERS WERE CUT AND BLEEDING. DEALER WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A GARAGE. NO REPORT OF AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT OR INJURIES. *AK THE CONSUMER HAD COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, THEN PULLED FORWARD WHEN THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WENT OVER A 4-5 INCH CURB IN THE BACK OF THE GARAGE CRUSHING EVERYTHING. THE CONSUMER TRIED TO USE THE BRAKES BUT THEY DIDN'T RESPOND AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT EVERYTHING WAS FINE. *SC *JB
VEHICLE'S ODOMETER AND SPEEDOMETER IS OFF. *MR EXTRA EQUIPMENT WAS ADDED BY THE MANUFACTURER (16 INCH TIRES AS OPPOSED TO STANDARD 15 INCH TIRES) WHICH RESULTED IN THE SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED A FIX, REFUND OR REPURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE. *SC *JB
AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. DEALERSHIP REPAIRED THE PROBLEM FOUR TIMES, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
STEPPED ON BRAKE AND CAR ACCELERATES INTO VERY HIGH SPEED. *JB
WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE DRIVER APPLIED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND WITHOUT WARNING THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED UNCONTROLLABLY. THE DRIVER WAS NOT ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND COLLIDED INTO A FENCE. BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *JB
WHILE STEPPING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO COLLIDED WITH A HOUSE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION NUMEROUS TIMES, BUT MECHANIC WAS NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
2003 TOYOTA AVALON HAS PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE'S BRAKE EQUIPMENT.*MR THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN HE PULLED INTO THE DRIVEWAY WITH ABOUT 3 INCHES OF SNOW ON THE GROUND, THE VEHICLE LOST TRACTION AND THE WHEELS BEGAN TO SPIN AND THE VEHICLE LOST ALL FORWARD MOMENTUM. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID, HOWEVER THE DEALER STATED IT WAS DUE TO OIL SPILLAGE. THE CONSUMER STATED HE IS STILL EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE. *JB
SRS WARNING LIGHT CONTINUES TO ILLUMINATE AT DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING. A RECALL WAS ISSUED IN 2014 AND VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TOYOTA DEALER FOR RECALL REPAIR. AFTER REPAIR SRS LIGHT CONTINUES TO ILLUMINATE WHILE DRIVING. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO TOYOTA DEALER FOR REPAIR BUT NOTHING COULD BE DONE BECAUSE IT COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED OR DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT COULD NOT FIND OR PULL ANY MALFUNCTION CODES. WHAT NOW??? *TR
CAR ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN PUT ON BRAKES AND PUT IN NEUTRAL HAS NOT DONE THAT AGAIN WHEN I WENT TO TOYOTA TO REPORT INCIDENT WAS BRUSHED OF HAVE NEVER FELT SAFE IN THIS CAR SINCE. *TR
THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION WHEN PLACED IN REVERSE.*MR THE CONSUMER WAS ATTEMPTING TO BACK UP IN ORDER TO DRIVE STRAIGHT INTO THE GARAGE. WHEN PLACED IN REVERSE, THE VEHICLE RACED BACKWARDS OUT OF CONTROL, HIT A PARKED VAN, A TREE AND STOPPED SIDE WAYS ON THE GRASS. THE CONSUMER SUSTAINED A BADLY BRUISED LEFT HAND AND INDEX FINGER. THE PAINT SEEMS TO BE CHIPPING VERY EASILY ON MY NEW AVALON WITH THE DESERT SAND MICA COLOR. YOU WOULD THINK I DROVE BEHIND GRAVEL TRUCKS THE WHOLE TIME I'VE HAD IT. AND I'VE ONLY HAD IT FOR 6 MONTHS, AND 8500 MILES. LOOKING AT IT YOU'D THINK IT HAD A LOT MORE MILES ON IT. *LA
SEVER SIDE IMPACT CRASH ON A 2003 TOYOTA AVALON RESULTED IN A FAILURE OF THE SRS AIRBAG TO DEPLOY. *LA
WHEN DRIVING AND APPLYING BRAKES ENGINE WOULD START TO REV THIS WOULD CAUSE A HESITATION IN THE VEHICLE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR WAS DEPRESSED. HAD TAKEN TO DEALER AND THE PROBLEM HAD NOT BEEN RESOLVED.*AK
VEHICLE EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION, JUMPED A CURB AND ENDED UP IN STORE FRONT. *MR THE CONSUMER HAD DRIVEN IN A GROCERY STORE PARKING LOT WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TOYOTA TO TAKE POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE AND REFUND THE FULL PURCHASE PRICE. *SCC *JB
THIS PERTAINS TO A NEW 2003 TOYOTA AVALON LXS BRAKING SYSTEM. AT RANDOM TIMES THE BRAKES APPEAR TO BE AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED. THEY BECOME EXTREMELY HOT AND CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO SHIMMY AND SEVEREL VIBRATE. AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT IT WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO MACHINED THE FRONT ROTORS AND SANDED THE PAD, THE SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED IN JUNE 03. THE DEALER ROTATED THE TIRES. ON 4/01/03, I LEASED A 2003 TOYOTA AVALON XL FROM PRESTIGE TOYOTA OF RAMSEY, N.J. BY THE TIME I SIGNED ALL OF THE PAPERWORK AND TOOK POSSESSION OF THE CAR, IT HAD BECOME DARK OUTSIDE. THE DISPLAY OF GEAR POSITIONS (P, R, N, D, 2, L) WHICH WAS OBVIOUS IN DAYLIGHT, WAS NOW IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO DISTINGUISH. BY THE TIME I ARRIVED HOME, MY EYES WERE STRAINED FROM TRYING TO READ THE LETTERS, THUS CREATING A HAZARDOUS DRIVING EXPERIENCE. FROM DUSK TO DAWN, IT IS UNNERVING TO SEARCH FOR LETTERS ON THE DASH BOARD PANEL. WHILE ALL OTHER INDICATORS ARE ILLUMINATED, THE GEAR POSITION PANEL IS NOT. THE LETTERS ARE OF A LIGHT WHITE COLOR AND ARE ENCLOSED WITHIN A THIN-LINED GREEN NEON SQUARE WHICH BLURS THE LETTERS EVEN MORE. I RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY TO VOICE MY CONCERN AND REQUEST AN EXCHANGE FOR A SAFER VEHICLE, BUT I WAS TOLD THIS WAS NOT POSSIBLE. IN ADDITION, THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO REPAIR THIS DEFECT. WHILE PULLING INSIDE OF A PARKING SPACE, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED UNCONTROLLABLY. THE CONSUMER PLACED BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. BUT VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATED. THE CONSUMER TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO STOP IT. THE CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION BUT MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK WHEN THE VEHICLE WENT OUT OF CONTROL THE LAST TIME, THE CONSUMER HIT A WALL AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *JB
EXCESSIVE WIND NOISE FROM DRIVER SIDE WINDOW DURING HIGHWAY DRIVING. *LA
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 TOYOTA AVALON. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH THE VEHICLE BEGAN MOVING TO THE LEFT. HE HAD TO GUIDE THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT IN ORDER TO KEEP THE VEHICLE STRAIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TWICE, AND THEY ROTATED, BALANCED THE TIRES, AND PERFORMED A FRONT END ALIGNMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE CONTINUED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND HE WAS ADVISED THAT IT WAS A DEFECT FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE MECHANIC ALSO EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. HE REFERENCED RECALL 10V345000, STEERING AND HIS VEHICLE WAS A PART OF THE RECALL. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS ADVISED THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR AT THIS TIME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 81,300.
CONSUMER STATED AFTER APPLYING FORCE TO BREAK PEDAL TO MAKE A STOP VEHICLE WENT INTO EXTENDED STOPPING. TS ON OTHER OCCASIONS, THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL LOCKED UP AFTER APPLYING FORCE TO BREAK PEDAL. DEALERSHIP FOUND BRAKE LINES WERE IMPROPERLY INSTALLED. MANUFACTURER NOTIFIED. *TT
WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS IN THE DRIVE POSITION, IT CAN'T BE SEEN FROM 40MPH AND UP. IN ORDER TO SET THE CRUISE CONTROL, THE DRIVER WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THE ATTENTION OFF OF THE ROAD BECAUSE THEY'RE UNABLE TO VIEW THE SPEEDOMETER DUE TO THE STEERING WHEEL OR THE DASHBOARD DESIGN. TS THE BRAKES NEEDED EXCESSIVE EFFORT IN ORDER TO STOP. UPON THE SECOND APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES, THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS DISENGAGED. SCC

VEHICLE COMES EQUIPPED WITH A FUEL RANGE FINDER THAT SHOWS THE MILEAGE PER GALLON. THE FUEL RANGE FINDER IS FAILING, AND IS GIVING INCORRECT READING. DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE.*AK
THERE WAS FLUTTERING WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS DUE TO WEAK SPRINGS IN THE SUN ROOF ASSEMBLY. *AK THE AIR DAM (WIND DEFLECTOR PART OF THE MOON ROOF) FLUTTERED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND CAUSED A SHOCK WAVE/EXTREMELY LOUD NOISE IN THE VEHICLE. TOYOTA REFUSED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *SCC *JB
WHILE DRIVING 100 MILES OR MORE INSTRUMENT PANEL GLASS GETS HOT. CONSUMER IS CONCERNED THAT THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE A FIRE. THE DEALER INDICATED TO THE CONSUMER THAT THEY HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON THIS PROBLEM, BUT RECOMMENDED TO KEEP DRIVING THE VEHICLE. *AK THE DEALER DID NOT OFFER TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. *SC *JB
