THE FLEXIBLE PIPE INCLUDING THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FROM THE EXHAUST FAILED, DEALER WOULD NOT REIMBURSE CONSUMER FOR THE DEFECT. *SLC
1996 TOYOTA CAMRY DEVELOPED PROBLEMS STALLING OUT IN TRAFFIC AND WOULD BUCK LIKE A BRONCO SOMETIMES WHEN DRIVING (BEFORE STALLING). DEALERSHIP REPAIRS COST ME THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. VERY DANGEROUS TRYING TO GET FROM HERE TO THERE IN THIS VEHICLE. TECHNICIANS KEPT TAKING THE CAR BACK DOWN TO THE ENGINE BLOCK. SENT A LETTER TO TOYOTA REQUESTING THEY EXAMINE THE INVOICES AND REPAIRS ON A CAR WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE. THE SENT A LETTER BACK. ONE LINE-"NOTHING IN THESE INVOICES IS UNDER WARRANTY" TOYOTA WAS NOT INTERESTED IN FIXING THEIR MISTAKES AND WAS NOT INTERESTED IN LEARNING FROM THEM. THEY WERE NOT INTERESTED IN THE SAFETY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. I KNEW AT THAT TIME THEY WERE INTERESTED IN GROWTH AND PROFIT AND LET IT BE KNOWN TO MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY THAT THEY SHOULD NOT BUY TOYOTA VEHICLES. *TR
TURN SIGNAL FAILED, REPAIRED WIRING TO THE HAZARD SWITCH, HOWEVER CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE INTERMITTENT FAILURE AFTER REPAIR. *MJS
1. IDLE SPEED CONTROL VALVE FAILED CAUSING COLD START PROBLEM ( VERY LOW RPM OR ENGINE DIES). TOYOTA OF CERRITOS CLAIMED THERE IS A DEFECT ON THE VALVE IT SELF. TOYOTA KEEP SUPPLING THEM WITH OLD/DEFECTIVE VALVE FOR SERVICE. PER SERVICE MANAGER, IF TOYOTA KEEPS DOING THIS, THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO FIX THIS PROBLEM, IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT AWARE OF SUCH A PROBLEM. 2. TIRES WERE CUPPED AT 20000 MILES UNDER NORMAL SURFACE STREET AND FREEWAY DRIVING. VEHICLES OXYGEN SENSOR FAILURE CAUSED THE ENGINE TO SURGE AND DIE UNLESS THE ENGINE IS COMPLETELY WARM. *ET
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES DURING HIGH SPEED , THERE WAS GRINDING NOISE AND THE BRAKES COMPLETELY LOCKED UP, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SPIN OUT OF CONTROL WHICH RESULTED IN A CRASH. MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE CRASH. VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING WHEELS LOCK UP, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SKID AND HAVE A CRASH. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION AND VIN#. *AK
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT 20 MPH THE VEHICLE HAD A FRONTAL IMPACT IN WHICH THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY, WHICH DID NOT PROTECT THE OCCUPANT IN THIS ACCIDENT.*AK
BOTH REMOTES FOR THE KEYLESS ENTRY/SECURITY SYSTEM HAVE FALLEN APART WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. TOYOTA REFUSES TO REPLACE THEM. I HAVE NOT USED THEM IN ANY UNUSUAL MANNER. IF THE WARRANTY IS
CONSUMER WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40-45MPH WHEN A VEHICLE PULLED IN FRONT AT 1-2 MPH, CAUSING CONSUMER TO REAREND VEHICLE IN FRONT . WITH $3,700 IN DAMAGE, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, CONSUMER WAS INJURED. *AK
IDELE AIR CONTROL VALVE KEEPS STICKING. THE DEALER HAS CLEAN IT ONCE AND REPLACED IT ONCE. IT KEEPS COMING BACK AFTER 2 MONTHS. I CLEANED IT MULTIPLE TIMES. CLEANING WON'T HELP ANYMORE. VEHICLE KEEPS STALLING WHEN STARTING THE ENGINEE COLD. HAVE TO STEP ON GAS PEDAL UNTIL ENGINE HEATS UP OR ENGINE DIES.*AK
CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT CANCEL WHEN BRAKE WAS APPLIED. DEALER ADVISED IT WAS THE BRAKE SWITCH WHICH CONTROLED BRAKE LIGHTS & CRUISE CONTROL WAS BAD, PAID DEALER TO REPLACE BUT CONCERNED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY THAT OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED OR COULD EXPERIENCE AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS DEFECT.
TRUNK LID FELL ON CONSUMER'S BACK CAUSING INJURY, THE LID DESIGN ALLOWS FOR THE LID TO FALL EASILY.
UPON STARTING VEHICLE AND WITHOUT ANY INDICATION, VEHICLE WOULD STALL. DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND NOTICED IDLE SPEED CONTROL VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.*AK. *JB
NO DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAG DURING COLLISION & SEAT BELT DID NOT RESTRAIN PROPERLY, RESULTING IN CHEST INJURIES.538159 DUPE OF 825226. *AK
CAR DOES NOT TURN OVER AT FIRST START OF THE DAY. DEALERSHIP (WESTCHESTER TOYOTA, NY) STATES FUEL INJECTORS NEED TO BE CLEANED. DEALERSHIP PROCEEDED AND CLEANED THE INJECTOR'S YET THE CAR STILL DOES NOT TURN OVER. *AK
THE CONSUMER HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH ANTI-LOCK BRAKES. WHEN THE CONSUMER APPLIES THEIR BRAKES, IT MAKES NOISE, AND AT TIMES THE BRAKES GO TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
FALSE DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS.
1SC VALVE STICKS CAUSING IGNITION TO NOT START VEHICLE.
ON THE DATE OF FAILURE, DURING A ROUTINE VISIT TO A TOYOTA SHOP, MY FRONT BRAKE PADS WERE MEASURED TO BE 8MM. SINCE THAT TIME, AND WITH TOYOTA TECHS TAKING THE MEASUREMENTS, THEIR SIZE HAS NOT REDUCED MORE THAN 0.5 MM. SINCE THE REAR PADS SEEM TO BE WEARING AT A QUICKER-THAN-EXPECTED RATE (THEY WERE 10MM NEW, 6MM ON THE ABOVE DATE AND 3.5MM CURRENTLY), I AM CONCLUDING THAT THE FRONT BRAKES ARE NOT BEING EMPLOYED PROPERLY, AND THIS CONDITION IS PUTTING ME AND MY PASSENGERS AT A GREAT SAFETY RISK. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO TWO TOYOTA SHOPS, AND HAVE HAD THEIR DISTRICT SERVICE MANAGER INVOLVED, BUT TOYOTA CLAIMS THAT THE BRAKES ARE GOOD BECAUSE THE LINE PRESSURE READINGS ARE WITHIN SPECIFICATIONS. I HAVE NOT WITNESSED THESE TESTS NOR HAVE THEY TOLD ME WHAT THE READINGS SHOULD BE, SO I CAN'T BE SURE THAT THE TESTS WERE PERFORMED. THEY HAVE NOT ATTEMPTED A REPAIR, AND WON'T DO SO, BECAUSE "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG" AND IF THERE WAS, IT'S NOT RELATED TO THE WARRANTY. THEY TELL ME THAT I JUST HAVE VERY GOOD BRAKES. THEY WILL NOT ADDRESS HOW THE BRAKES CAN BE WORKING, BUT NOT WEARING. SINCE I HAVE HAD THEM INSPECT THE BRAKES AT LEAST THREE TIMES, I HAVE PAID FOR AT LEAST ONE INSPECTION, THEY HAVE TOLD ME TO TAKE MY COMPLAINT TO ARBITRATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE WARRANTY. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THE TOYOTA PEOPLE CAN TELL ME THAT THE FRONT BRAKES ARE FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY WITHOUT SHOWING ANY WEAR. THEY WORK BY WEARING. I BELIEVE THAT TOYOTA SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO REPAIR OR REPLACE BRAKE SYSTEM COMPONENTS, UNDER WARRANTY, UNTIL MY BRAKES ARE WORKING PROPERLY, THAT IS, THE FRONT BRAKES ARE DOING MOST OF THE STOPPIN, AS THEY SHOULD. *AK
FALSE DEPLOYMENT OF BOTH AIR BAGS WHEN THE FRONT TIRE STRUCK CONCRETE, BUMPER WAS NOT STRUCK AND VEHICLE WAS ONLY TRAVELING 5-10 MPH. YH
WHILE DRIVING ALL POWER STOPPED, CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL. WHEN NOTICED THE POWER FAILURE TRIED TO PULL OVER, BUT DID NOT HAVE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. *AK

ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED.
TOP RACK SEPARATED FROM THE CAR SENDING ITEMS ON TOP INTO TRAFFIC.
VIOLENT DEPLOYMENT OF PASSENGER'S AIR BAG CAUSED INJURY TO CONSUMERS HANDS.
PLACING A CHILD SEAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE REAR SEAT AND BELTING IT IN DOES NOT SECURE THE CHILD SEAT FROM TIPPING OR MOVING LATERALLY. OWNER STATES THAT HER VEHICLE'S REAR CENTER SEAT BELT EMERGES ABOUT TWO FEET WIDER THAN IN MOST VEHICLES.
VEHICLE HIT BY SEMI IN REAR LEFT. DRIVER LOST CONTROL. VEHICLE SPUN AROUND; HIT CONCRETE BARRIER DIVIDING HIGHWAY TWICE IN FRONT. NEITHER AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. *AK
CAR STALLS WHEN STARTING COLD. IDLE SPEED CONTROL MOTOR FAILED 4 TIMES SINCE PURCHASED, ALMOST ONCE A YEAR.
INTERIOR REAR VIEW MIRROR WAS DETACHED BY DEPLOYING AIR BAGS AND HIT A REAR SEAT PASSENGER CAUSING HEAD INJURIES.
IN A NORMAL WINDY DAY OR MILD WIND TRUNK WILL FALL DOWN HARD AND EASILY.*AKTHE CONSUMER WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THE AFTERMARKET SPOILER IS TOO HEAVY CAUSING THE TRUNK LID TO FALL EASILY, ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE LID HAS FALLEN ON THE CONSUMERS HEAD WHILE REACHING INTO THE TRUNK ON A WINDY DAY. REARENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK
COLD START VALVE FAILED.
VEHICLE ACCUMULATED CARBON DEPOSITS . THE ENGINE IS TAKING A LONGER TIME TO WARM UP. DEALER REPLACED THE IAC VALVE. *AK
OUR 1996 CAMRY WAS REARENDED ON 8-12-97. THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOTALED AT FIRST THEN SAID IT HAD TO BE REPAIRED. WE REJECTED THE CAR DUE TO THE UNSAFE CONDITION. I WAS FORCED BY AUCTION TO GO PICK UP CAR. (11000 DOLLARS LATER) I TOWED IT HOME. I ALSO TOWED IT TO GET AN ESTIMATE FROM ANOTHER TOYOTA DEALER. (THAT WAS 3000 MORE DOLLARS OF WORK) AFTER PAYING FOR THIS CAR FOR 1 YEAR AND NOT BEING ABLE TO DRIVE IT WE TURNED IT IN. (REPOSSESED) TOYOTA MOTOR CREDIT WAS NOTIFIED OF THE WORK IT NEEDED. THEY AUCTIONED IT AND NOW SOME UNKNOWING PERSON IS OPERATING THAT CAR. THE CAR IS VERY UNSAFE, I HAVE WRITTEN EVERYONE I CAN THINK OF ABOUT THIS AND NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE. WHILE DRIVING HIT A ROCK AND BOTH AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE DEALER SAID THAT THE ROCK HIT A SENSOR UNDER THE VEHICLE. *AK
THERE IS A LIFE ELECTRICAL CURRENT RUNNING THROUGH THE DOOR, AND THE OWNER SUFFERED A REAL BAD SHOCK, AND NOW CANNOT NOT USE HIS HAND AS WELL. *AK
SINCE THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE PURCHASED THE AUTOMOBILE, IT HAS BEEN PULSATING/VIBRATING AND HESITATION WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS OF 50 MPH OR MORE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO RECTIFY THE PROBLEM AND CONSUMER IS UNSATISFIED WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THE VEHICLE.

ALL FOUR OF THE FIRESTONE TIRES EXPERIENCED BLOWOUTS AT DIFFERENT TIMES, CONSUMER REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES, FIRESTONE DID NOT COMPLY WITH THE TERMS OF THE TIRE WARRANTY (FIRESTONE FR-14-195-70-14, FR-1416800). NLM

CONSUMER WAS DRIVING UNDER NORMAL OPERATION, DRIVING 65 MPH OR LOWER, TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT AND THE CONSUMER LOST CONTROL. THE VEHICLE SKIDDED, CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. *AK
