ON MARCH 26,2020 I WENT TO DRIVE MY CAR. THE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKED, STICKY, AND MELTED THROUGHOUT. THE NEXT DAY I CALLED PRIORITY TOYOTA AND WAS TOLD (JOHN SERVICE MANAGER) THAT THEY WOULD NOT FIX IT DUE TO THE WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT NOTIFICATION-ZE6 WHICH ENDED MAY 31, 2017. ALSO, I HAD OWNED THE CAR FOR MORE THAN 10 YEARS. HE WOULD REPLACE IT AT MY COST OF APPROX. $2200 BUT HE WOULD PROVIDE AN EXACT AMOUNT WHEN I DECIDED TO FIX IT. THEN I EXPLORED THE INTERNET TO SEE THE SCOPE OF THE PROBLEM. IT CAN LEAD TO VISIBILITY PROBLEMS (GLARE) AND PROBLEMS WITH THE DASHBOARD AIRBAGS. YESTERDAY, APRIL 7, 2020 I CALLED THE TOYOTA CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER 1-888-2709371 AND SPOKE TO RANDALL WHO REPEATED WHAT JOHN HAD SAID, BUT ADDED THAT MY CAR WAS OLD AND NOT WORTH MUCH AND I HAD GOTTEN MY MONIES WORTH OUT OF IT. I ASKED WHO I COULD CALL NEXT AND HE SAID HE WAS THE END OF THE LINE. I WAS ASSIGNED A CASE #[XXX] BUT CAN'T SEE TO READ IT FOR MYSELF. THE CAR HAS REMAINED IN MY GARAGE SINCE I SAW THE PROBLEM ON MARCH 26. IT IS GETTING WORSE. IT WAS LAST DRIVEN ON MARCH 5 WITH NO PROBLEMS. I HAVE A TOYOTA RAV 2017 FROM PRIORITY TOYOTA, HAMPTON, VA 757 838-5000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA CAMRY SOLARA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS CRACKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GETTEL TOYOTA OF CHARLOTTE COUNTY (1801 TAMIAMI TRAIL, PUNTA GORDA, FL 33950) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR COST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 63,390.
PULLING OUT OF HOSPITAL PARKING LOT MY 2006 TOYOTA CAMRY ACCERATED ON ITS OWN I TRIED TO BRAKE BUT THE BRAKE FAILED I HIT GUIDE RAILS ON TH LEFT AND THEN HIT A POLE THAT STOPPED THE CAR THE SECURITY FROM ERIE COUNTY MEDICAL CENTER RESPONDED PLACED ME IN A AMBULANCE AND TOOK ME TO THEIR ER I HAVE A CRACK IN MY CERVICAL SPINE AND JAW*JS

DASHBOARD HAS BECOME STICKY AND SHINY. THIS HAS PRODUCED A GLARE MAKING VISIBILITY AN ISSUE. CLEANING DOESN'T HELP.
THE DASHBOARD HAS BECOME GUMMY AND CRACKING CAUSING A BRIGHT GLARE THAT MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE ON BRIGHT SUNNY DAYS. LAST WEEK I WAS CROSSING OVER A BRIDGE AND ALMOST WENT OVER THE SIDE. *TR
WE HAVE A 2006 TOYOTA SOLARA WHICH HAS A CRACKED DASH BOARD WITH A STICKY SUBSTANCE OOZING OUT. THE CAR IS GARAGED AND IN GREAT CONDITION OTHERWISE. IT WAS NOT IN ANY ACCIDENTS OR WERE ANY UNKNOWN MATERIALS APPLIED TO THE DASH. I FEEL THIS IS A RECALL ITEM, ESPECIALLY SINCE THERE ARE COMPLAINTS AROUND THE GLOBE WITH THE TOYOTA DASHES. HOPEFULLY THIS WILL NOT EFFECT THE AIRBAG COMPONENTS. PLEASE ADVISE WHAT MY NEXT STEPS SHOULD BE. *TR
DASHBOARD TURNED STICKY AND MELTED IN THE FLORIDA SUN. WHEN I TOUCHES THE DASHBOARD MY FINGERS STICK AND TURN BLACK. THE PROBLEM IS THE DASHBOARD WHICH HAS MANY CRACKS IN IT AND THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND STICKY. WE BOUGHT THE CAR USED IN NOVEMBER 2013 AND IS CONTINUING TO GET WORSE WITH MORE DETERIORATION. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS THE DASHBOARD IS VERY SHINY AND THE GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SEE WHEN DRIVING ON A SUNNY DAY. THE CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD ARE ALSO A CONCERN SINCE THEY MAY INTERFERE WITH THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE DASHBOARD AIR BAGS IN AN ACCIDENT. *TR
THE DASHBOARD HAS CRACKED IN SEVERAL AREAS AND THE ISSUE SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE DAILY. I'VE CONTACTED TOYOTA MAIN HEADQUARTERS COMPLAINT DEPARTMENT SEVERAL TIMES AND THEIR RESPONSE WAS THAT SINCE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY THEY WILL NOT FIX IT AND IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM AT MY EXPENSE, I HAVE HEARD AND SEEN MANY REPORTS THAT THIS IS A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM DUE TO USE OF INFERIOR PARTS USED BY TOYOTA AND OTHER MANUFACTURERS. CLASS ACTION SUITS HAVE BEEN INITIATED TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM.I WISH TO FORMERLY FILE MY COMPLAINT WITH YOUR AGENCY AS A POINT OF RECORD . INCIDENTALLY I HAD MAINTAINED A VERY EXPENSIVE EXTENDED WARRANTY POLICY FOR SIX YEARS AFTER MY PURCHASE AND IT SEEMS STRANGE THAT TOYOTA WASN'T AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM PRIOR TO IT'S EXPIRATION. *JS
DASH CRACKS WITHOUT REASON. NOT SURE HOW THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY ON THIS CAR BUT MAY POSE A HAZARD DURING DEPLOYMENT. ENERGY ABSORPTION MAY BE COMPROMISED BY THE MANY CRACKS. I WAS HEADING INTO THE SUN AND I COULD HARDLY SEE DUE TO GLARE FROM THE DASHBOARD. WHEN I STOPPED I PUT MY HAND ON THE DASH AND FOUND IT TO BE VERY STICKY AND CRACKED. I HAVE TWO COMPLAINTS. THE MAJOR ONE IS THE REAR SPEAKER COVERS. THEY STARTED IN JUNE OF 2013 WITH A SMALL HOLE. NOW THERE IS A LARGE HOLE AND THE OTHER ONE IS CRACKED ALL ACROSS IT. I AM ASSUMING IT IS MELTING. THE OTHER IS THE FABRIC IS COMING APART NEAR THE REAR DOOR CURVATURE TOWARD THE BACK. REGULAR GLUE CAN'T BE USED, IT WILL BURN. *TR
DASHBOARD OF VEHICLE IS PREMATURELY DETERIORATED AND GETS STICKY AND SHINY IN HOT WEATHER. WHILE DRIVING THE GLARE OFF THE TOP OF THE DASHBOARD CAUSED ME TO LOSE SIGHT OF THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME WHICH STOPPED. I NEARLY RAN INTO THE VEHICLE. *TR
TRAVELING EAST ON INTERSTATE 10 WEST OF TONOPAH, AZ , FELT VIBRATION AND PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE RIGHT REAR TIRE SUFFERED A PARTIAL TREAD SEPARATION. TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH SPARE AND TRIP CONTINUED FOR ANOTHER 30 MILES WHEN THE LEFT FRONT TIRE SUFFERED A COMPLETE TREAD SEPARATION CAUSING NEARLY $1600 DOLLARS DAMAGE IN AND AROUND THE WHEEL WELL. TIRES WERE FIRESTONE FR380 P215/60R16 WITH LESS THAN 25,000 MILES. SUBSEQUENT CHECK OF TIRES INDICATED THAT THE TIRES WERE PROPERLY INFLATED. TIRES HAD BEEN ROTATED AND CHECKED ON A REGULAR BASIS WITH OIL CHANGES. *TR
IN AN ATTEMPT TO PARK THE CAR IN A PARKING LOT, THE CARE ACCELERATED UNINTENTIONALLY AND JUMPED ON TO THE CURB AND CRASHED INTO A TRUNK A TREE. THE CAR WAS TOTALED. DRIVER LIGHTLY INJURED. *TR
