THE ABS TRACTION AND BREAK LIGHT CAME ON. YOU TURN CAN OFF TURN IT BACK ON THEY GO OFF. THEN TODAY COULDN'T GET IT OUT OF PARK.
HAVING ACCELERATION ISSUES WITH MY 2014 TOYOTA CAMRY.THE TRANSMISSION HESITATES AND SEEMS TO LOSE POWER WHEN ACCELERATING. WHETHER I DRIVE ON LOCAL ROADS OR THE HIGHWAY. IT KEEPS HAPPENING. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TODAY AND REPORTED IT AND THEY SAY IT IS A COMMON ISSUE REPORTED BY CONSUMER AND SCHEDULE ME TO BRING IT IN NEXT WEDNESDAY HOWEVER I EXPRESSED MY DEEP CONCERN FOR MY SAFETY AND MY FAMILY.
WHILE AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED AND USUALLY COMING TO A STOP, THE BRAKE, ABS, AND STABILITY TRACTION CONTROL DASH LIGHTS WILL ILLUMINATE IN THE DASHBOARD AND WILL NOT TURN OFF UNTIL CAR IS RESTARTED. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME I USE VEHICLE SINCE ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO, IT DOES NOT SEEM TO AFFECT NORMAL BRAKING DURING NICE WEATHER OUTSIDE. I AM CONCERN DURING WET WEATHER, THE ABS AND/OR TRACTION CONTROL MAY FAIL AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. CAR HAS ONLY ABOUT 16,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER, BUT UNFORTUNATELY IS OUT OF 3 YEAR WARRANTY.
HAVING ACCELERATION ISSUES WITH MY 2014 TOYOTA CAMRY SE.THE TRANSMISSION HESITATES AND SEEMS TO LOSE POWER WHEN ACCELERATING. WHETHER I DRIVE IN TOWN OR FREEWAY (I ONLY COMMUTE 11 MILES TO WORK). THIS IS ESPECIALLY PROBLEMATIC AND DOWNRIGHT SCARY WHEN MAKING LEFT TURNS AT INTERSECTIONS OR CHANGING LANES. I PRESS ON THE GAS AND THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT DELAY.
The contact owns a 2014 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the vehicle. The contact was turned off and the vehicle. The had been taken to the dealer in 2017 and was diagnosed with a leaking timing chain cover caused by an oil leak. The timing chain assembly was resealed. The vehicle was taken back to the same local dealer for repair in February of 2021, where it was diagnosed that there was an oil pan gasket leak. The vehicle was repaired. The contact became aware of an oil leak on the garage floor. The vehicle was taken back to the same local dealer again on December 23, 2024, and was diagnosed with oil leaking on the timing cover. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 24,889.
TWICE WHEN I HAD TO SUDDENLY HIT THE BRAKES, THE CAR DID NOT STOP. THE SECOND TIME, THE STEERING LOCKED UP COMPLETELY SO I COULD NOT STEER OR STOP THE VEHICLE. EPS LIGHT CAME ON, STAYED ON ALL DAY UNTIL TOOK TO DEALER WHO CLAIMED LIGHT WAS NOT ON AND NOTHING WRONG WITH VEHICLE.
HAD TO REPLACE MY O2 SENSOR AT MY OWN COST OF $430 DUE TO A RODENT CHEWING IT. MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME IN AND THIS WAS WHY I GOT IT CHECKED. THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALER SAID RODENTS LOVE THE INSULATION ON THE WIRING IN THESE CARS. I FEEL THAT SOY BASED WIRING IS WHY THIS HAPPENED AND WAS NOT MY FAULT AND SHOULD BE COVERED BY TOYOTA. MY CAR IS PARKED WHERE 3 OTHER OLDER VEHICLES ALSO PARK AND THEY DID NOT HAVE AN ISSUE. ONLY MY CAR WAS AFFECTED. THIS IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE CORRECTED BY THE MANUFACTURER AT THEIR EXPENSE.
OCCASIONAL SLIGHT TRANSMISSION SHUDDER WHEN STARTING FROM A DEAD STOP.
AC CONDENSER UNIT PLUGS AND CREATES MOLD AND BAD SMELL FROM VENTS. MOLD CAUSES PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES TO START HAVING REACTIONS. IN ADDITION, THERE IS CONCERN THAT THE ACCUMULATED WATER MAY THEN LEAK THROUGH A SEAM IN THE HOUSING ONTO THE AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN A SHORT CIRCUIT OF THE MODULE. A SHORT CIRCUIT MAY CAUSE THE AIR BAGS TO BECOME DISABLED OR INADVERTENTLY DEPLOY. THIS IS SIMILAR TO 2013 CAMRY MODEL RECALL. NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V442000. I THINK THE RECALL SHOULD EXTEND TO 2014 CAMRY MODEL AS WELL.
ON MAY 25, 2017, WHILE PULLING INTO PARKING SPACE AT A SHOPPING CENTER, MY 2014 TOYOTA CAMRY ACCELERATED OUT OF CONTROL THRU THE PARKING SPACE WITHOUT ME PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. I PRESSED THE BRAKES AND IT DID NOT STOP THE CAR. MY CAR CONTINUED TO TRAVEL AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED THRU THE PARKING LOT EMBANKMENT AND WENT THRU BRUSHES/SHRUBS WHICH IS WHERE THE CAR STOPPED AFTER IT BLEW A TIRE AND WAS STOPPED BY THE SHRUBS. DUE TO THE DAMAGE UNDER THE CAR IT WAS A TOTAL LOSS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN AT 25 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. SMOKE APPEARED AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE PARKER'S DEALER LOCATED ON 2416 CASS ST. FORT WAYNE, IN 46808 AND IT WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A HEAD INJURY, LEFT LEG INJURY, RIGHT ANKLE SPRAIN, AND MULTIPLE CUTS AND BRUISES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR FROM MY SONS DAYCARE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WOULDNT ACCELERATE. MY ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I PUT MY CAT IN PARK AND PUT IT BACK INTO DRIVE AND IT JERKED BUT STILL WOLD NOT ACCELERATE. IT DID THIS FOR ABOUT 10 MIN. UNTIL I TURNED NY CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT. WE PURCHASED A CERTIFIED USED 2014.5 TOYOTA CAMRY FROM BAXTER TOYOTA IN APRIL 2014. THE ENGINE HAS ALWAYS RUN A BIT ROUGH AND WE HAD IT CHECKED BY BAXTERS SERVICE DEPARTMENT SEVERAL TIMES AND WERE TOLD THAT "THAT WAS NORMAL FOR THAT PARTICULAR YEAR, HOWEVER, WITH THE 2020 RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP ISSUE IT SOUNDS LIKE WE MAY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND WOULD APPRECIATE IF WE COULD AT LEAST HAVE OUR FUEL PUMP CHECK OUT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RECALL.
A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO, I NOTICED A MUSTY SMELL COMING FROM MY CAR. I REALIZED THAT IT MAY BE DUE TO THE HEATING/COOLING VENTS, AND A QUICK SEARCH REVEALED THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS PART OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ON BEHALF OF TOYOTA CAMRY DRIVERS. I FEAR MY VEHICLE HAS THE SAME FAULTY SYSTEM. I REPLACED THE CABIN AIR FILTER AND SPRAYED OZIUM CLEANER INTO THE INTAKE, BUT THIS ONLY SOLVED THE PROBLEM FOR A FEW DAYS.
I HIT A LADY DOING 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WITH THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY CAR THEN ROLLED 3 TIMES AND SLID 90 FEET ON MY ROOF AND HOOD. NOT ONE AIRBAG DEPLOYED ON MY CAR.

WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE SERVICED, THE TECHNICIAN FOUND VISIBLE BLISTERS LOCATED ON THE INSIDE WALLS OF THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRES. THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,983. THE DOT NUMBER WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
BUBBLE ON INSIDE OF RR TIRE, SUGGEST REPLACING 215-55-17 BRIDGESTONE POTENZA. WOLFCHASE TOYOTA MAY HAVE REPLACED TIRE ON RF OF CAR, NOT RR. I CAN ONLY PRESUME BUBBLE MAY STILL BE ON TIRES WHICH WERE SUPPOSEDLY ROTATED. ANOTHER DESCRIPTION ON FIRST PAGE OF OWNER'S RECEIPT STATES "C/R REPLACE TIRE THAT HAS A BUBBLE ON IT. REPLACED RIGHT FRONT TIRE." I CANNOT TELL WHICH TIRE WAS REPLACED, OR IF ANY WERE REPLACED. DRIVING WITH A BUBBLE ON A TIRE MAY CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I ONLY HAD 24.983 MILES ON THE TIRES, BUT WOLFCHASE TOYOTA REQUIRED FULL PURCHASE PRICE OF $211,15 FOR REPLACEMENT TIRE AND MISIDENTIFIED WHERE THEY REPLACED THE TIRE. WOLFCHASE PROVIDED NO ROAD HAZARD OR WARRANTY ON THE TIRE BECAUSE REP SAID I FAILED TO PURCHASE THIS COVERAGE WHEN THE CAR WAS NEW. I TOLD THE REP THAT I WAS NOT TOLD I NEEDED TO BUY THE COVERAGE WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR. BASED ON YOUR DATABASE, BRIDGESTONE HAS HAD BUBBLE PROBLEMS ON THEIR TIRES WHICH HAS CAUSED ACCIDENTS. WOLFCHASE TOYOTA FAILED TO SHOW ME THIS TIRE WITH A BUBBLE WHICH HAS BEEN A CUSTOMARY PRACTICE AT OTHER SERVICE PLACES THAT I'VE GONE TO.
WHEN I ACCELERATE, HESITATION AND STALLING OCCUR. FEELS AS IF THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING. IT INTERFERES WITH MY DRIVING SEVERELY.
INTERMITTENTLY, THE BUTTON START WILL NOT CAUSE THE CAR TO START. IT HAPPENS MOST OFTEN AT TEMPERATURES AROUND 50F. THE CAR WILL INDICATE THAT IT RECOGNIZES THAT A KEY IS NEARBY (GREEN KEY ICON ON THE DASH) BUT WHEN THE BRAKE IS DEPRESSED AND THE BUTTON IS PUSHED, ONLY THE ELECTRONICS OF THE CAR TURN ON. THE CAR, THOUGH, REFUSES TO TURN OVER. WE HAVE TAKEN THIS ISSUE TO A TOYOTA DEALER AND, OF COURSE, THEY ARE UNABLE TO RECREATE THE ISSUE. THEY ARE ALSO UNABLE TO FIND ANY CAUSE FOR THIS PROBLEM. I SUSPECT THAT IT COULD BE A GROUNDING ISSUE OF THE BATTERY. BUT FURTHER TESTING OF THAT HYPOTHESIS HAS PROVEN ME WRONG, SO FAR. I HAVE SEEN SIMILAR PROBLEMS ONLINE BUT NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO OFFER A FIX.
MY STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS (INCLUDING CRUISE CONTROL, PHONE CONTROLS, RADIO AND VOLUME CONTROLS) STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 1 MONTH AGO. WHILE AT MY LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP FOR MY REGULAR MAINTENANCE, I HAD A DIAGNOSTIC TEST RUN. I WAS INFORMED THAN MY SPIRAL CABLE WAS THE ISSUE, WHICH AFFECTS MY CONTROLS AND AIR BAG. MY CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW OF THE LOT 2.5 YEARS AGO, HAS ONLY BEEN SERVICED BY MY LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP.
I HAVE HAD ALL 4 OF MY DOOR ACTUATORS REPLACED. TWO OF MY DOOR ACTUATORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE. MY VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY, SO I CANNOT AFFORD TO REPLACE THE DOOR ACTUATORS. ALTHOUGH, I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS ANOTHER ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLES ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE LOCKS WILL WORK SOMETIMES AND NOT WORK SOMETIMES. THEY PICK AND CHOOSE WHEN THEY WANT TO WORK. ADDITIONALLY, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE A/C MOTOR ONCE, AND THE NEW ONE GOES IN AND OUT. I SOMETIMES HAVE TO HIT BENEATH THE DASH TO GET MY A/C TO KICK ON.

THE CAR IS LIKE DRIVING ON ICE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. ALWAYS TRYING TO KEEP IT CENTERED IN MY LANE . HAD IT CHECKED AT TOYOTA AND THEY SAID IT WAS JUST IN MY HEAD. NO IT'S ALL WRONG AND THEY WON'T DO ANY MORE WITH IT . HOW CAN I DRIVE IT LIKE THAT? HAD IT ALIGNED , NEW TIRES , AXLES WHEEL BEARINGS , STILL DRIVES LIKE ON ICE . IT'S IN THE STEERING.
MY CAR ONCE I GET TO 20-25 MPH IT STARTS TO JERK BADLY AND THEN IT STOPS. THEN IT JERKS MORE ONCE I GET BETWEEN 45-55 MPH IT'S BEEN GOING ON FOR QUITE SOMETIME NOW. I CONTACTED TOYOTA AND THEY SAID IT'S THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDER. I ASKED ABOUT THE RECALL AS I FOUND IT ONLINE AND I WAS TOLD IF MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. I CAN'T PAY THIS $1600 AND STILL PAY MY CAR NOTE I'M ON DISABILITY AT THE MOMENT DUE TO A TRANSPLANT. I THINK THIS IS VERY UNFAIR. I ALSO DON'T WANT ANYONE TO RUN INTO ME ON THE ROAD I'M SCARED EVERYTIME I PULL OFF IN TRAFFIC THAT THE CAR WON'T SWITCH GEARS PROPERLY AND SOMEONE MAY HIT ME FROM BEHIND WITH MY KIDS IN THE VEHICLE. PLEASE HELP
The AC air conditioner has a smell, like mold, called Toyota and I was told no recall has been issued, looking up online I’m not the 1st person That complains about this issue.
TORQUE CONVERTER SHUDDER. TOYOTA CLAIMS MY VIN HAS NO RECALL, BUT I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING A STRONG SHUDDER UNDER LIGHT ACCELERATION AT AROUND 30-40 MPH. WE WERE NEVER INFORMED OF A RECALL ON OUR VEHICLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE WARNING INDICATOR HAD BEEN ILLUMINATING ON AND OFF EVER SINCE 12/16/17. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (CLAIREMONT TOYOTA IN CLAIREMONT CALIFORNIA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FLOOR WIRE HARNESS SQUIB CIRCUIT FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,600.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE STEERING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,700.
WHILE SLOWLY PULLING INTO A PARKING PLACE, CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. APPLIED THE BRAKES, BUT THEY DID NOT WORK. CRASHED INTO A BUSH AND THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING WHERE I WORK. PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL AND APPLIED BRAKES AGAIN..THEN PUT IT IN PARK. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THERE IS APPROX. $1,000 DAMAGE TO FRONT FENDER AND HEADLIGHT ON DRIVERS SIDE. AM LEASING THIS CAR AND LEASE IS UP IN UNDER 90 DAYS. I WANT TO TRADE THIS IMMEDIATELY BUT WANT TO REPORT ISSUES WITH THIS CAR SO THAT TOYOTA WILL FIX IT BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE GETS IT.
WHEN ENTERING FREEWAY I PRESS ON GAS PEDDLE TO INCREASE SPEED THE CAR HESITATES BEFORE IT PICKS UP SPEEDS.THIS CAN AND COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I HAVE READ MANY REPORTS OF THIS HESITATION PROBLEM. I THINK IT IS TIME FOR A RECALL TO FIX THIS PROBLEM .THANK YOU *TR
ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHEN STOPPED AT LIGHT. DEPRESS THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR HESITATES AND RAPIDLY ACCELERATES. THIS IN AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM THAT STARTED ABOUT 34,000 MILES. EVERY TIME I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER, THEY ARE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING AND SOMETIMES DANGEROUS.
WEIRD SMELL COMES OUT OF THE AIR CONDITIONING VENTS WHEN THE AC COMPRESSOR IS ACTIVATED. THE SMELL INDICATES MOLD BUILDUP WITHIN THE VENTS. THERE ARE MANY OTHER ONLINE FORUMS THAT MENTION THIS PROBLEM AS WELL. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN DUE TO PUBLIC HEALTH (SOME PEOPLE ARE DEATHLY ALLERGIC TO MOLD) AND MAY CAUSE DRIVER IMPAIRMENT AS A RESULT. VARIOUS TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS IN THE AREA OFFERED SERVICES TO REPLACE THE VENTING SYSTEM, BUT THAT'S EXPENSIVE AND NOT UNDER WARRANTY THEY SAY. I AM LUCKY THAT IT'S ONLY WHEN I HAVE CIRCULATION ON WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER RUNNING. I DO NOT NOTICE IT WITH HEATING THE INTERIOR AS OTHERS HAVE MENTIONED. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A GROWING PROBLEM FOR THESE MODEL YEARS (2012-2014) OF CAMRYS. THIS SMELL OCCURS WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR NOT, BUT IT DOES SEEM TO GO AWAY WHEN NOT IN CIRCULATION MODE ON THE CLIMATE CONTROLS.
"TAKATA INFLATORS" NOVEMBER 29, 2016. ENTERED VEHICLE TO MOVE IT AWAY FROM CURB. STARTED VEHICLE AND IT SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING ACCELERATED AND CRASHED OVER TWO RETAINING WALLS AND HIT A PARKED CAR, FORCING THAT HIT VEHICLE INTO ANOTHER PARKED VEHICLE. OUR VEHICLE CONTINUED ONWARD ACROSS A PARKING LOT AT CRASHED INTO A TREE. WE COMPLAINED TO TOYOTA AND THEY REQUESTED US TO RELEASE THE VEHICLE TO THEM IN ORDER THEY RECOVER THE EDR/VCH DATA. WE SIGNED A CONSENT FORM AND THEY QUARANTINED THE VEHICLE UNTIL A PRIVATE CONTRACTOR COULD RETRIEVE THE DATA. THIS TOOK OVER 10 WEEKS THAT WE HAD NO USE OF THE VEHICLE. TOYOTA FINALLY RELEASED THE VEHICLE BACK TO US. TOYOTA SENT US AN EMAIL STATING THEY DISCOVERED NOTHING WRONG. WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED BACK TO COOKS COLLISION OF DAVIS CA. WHICH WAS A REPAIR SHOP RECOMMENDED BY OUR INSURANCE LIBERTY MUTUAL INSURANCE CO. THE INSURANCE CLAIM #PD000-034712120-01. COOKS COLLISION INSPECTED THE DAMAGES AND DETERMINED THAT THE CAR WAS TOO DAMAGED TO REPAIR AND LIBERTY MUTUAL OPTED TO TOTAL THE CAR. THIS CAR WAS A TOTAL WRECK, HOWEVER, NOT ONE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM.
ON 11/5/2016 EARLY AFTERNOON WAS PARKING CAR WITH FOOT ON BRAKE THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING AND RAN INTO A BRICK WALL AND CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE UNTIL MOVED IT INTO REVERSE. THIS HAPPENED IN LANCASTER CA. ALSO HAD A 2013 CAMRY THAT DID THE SAME THING IN LANCASTER CA.
I SEEN THAT SOMEONE WAS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR FEELING LIKE THE CAR WOULD FEEL LIKE IT WAS BRAKING WHEN THEY PRESSED ON THE GAS. I HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH MY CAMRY AND FOUND OUT THAT TOYOTA WAS TRYING TO FIX THERE SUDDEN ACCELERATION PROBLEM. THEY PUT SOMETHING IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM THAT STOP THE CAR FROM ACCELERATING. SO, I HAD A PROBLEM HAVING MY LEFT FOOT TOUCHING THE BRAKE PEDAL AND BY TOUCHING THE BRAKE PEDAL IT WOULD SLOW THE CAR AND STOP IT FROM ACCELERATING. I JUST STOPPED TOUCHING THE BRAKE AND DID NOT HAVE THE PROBLEM AGAIN. TRY EXCELLERATING THEN TOUCH THE BRAKE PEDAL SLIGHTLY WHILE STILL EXCELLERATING AND SEE IF THIS SLOWS THE CAR FROM EXCELLERATING. THAT MIGHT SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM.
WAS INVOLVED IN A 3 CAR COLLISION ON THE FREEWAY FAST LANE. CAR IS IN PRETTY BAD SHAPE, FLUID LEAKING, HOOD LOOKS LIKE AN UPSIDE DOWN TACO SHELL, LIGHTS SMASHED IN-BROKEN, AND NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVE-ABLE, DRIVER DOOR IS STUCK FROM THE IMPACT-AGAIN NOT A SINGLE AIRBAG DEPLOYED.
SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION IN 2014 TOYOTA CAMRY. INCIDENT OCCURRED SATURDAY OCTOBER 15, 2016 IN CORINTH, TEXAS. APPROXIMATELY 5:20PM. WEATHER WAS SUNNY AND CLEAR. ROAD CONDITIONS CLEAR AND DRY. OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE APPROXIMATELY 80F. DRIVING 30MPH APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION. WE HAVE THE RED LIGHT. BRAKES APPLIED. BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR - NO BRAKES AT ALL. IMMEDIATELY THE ENGINE REVS UP TO VERY HIGH RPM AND UNINTENTIONAL, OUT-OF-CONTROL ACCELERATION TAKES PLACE. THE CAR GOES THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AGAINST THE RED LIGHT. NO CROSS-TRAFFIC OR OTHERWISE THERE COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS CRASH. THE CAR IS ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN. THE TRANSMISSION IS AGGRESSIVELY MOVED INTO THE "PARK" POSITION. THE CAR STOPS. BRAKING ACTION RETURNS. THE ENGINE CONTINUES TO RUN HOWEVER THE RPM RETURNS TO NORMAL. THE CAR IS CAUTIOUSLY DRIVEN AT 35 - 40MPH TO LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER - TOYOTA OF DENTON, TEXAS. IF THE CAR APPROACHES 50MPH THE ENGINE BEGINS TO REV UP TO HIGH RPM HOWEVER BRAKING ACTION REMAINS NORMAL. THIS INCIDENT HAS LEFT THE OWNERS WITH NO CONFIDENCE IN TOYOTA. THE CAR IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY. EVEN IF THE SERVICE TECHNICIANS SAY THE CAR IS GOOD TO GO, WOULD YOU ALLOW YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS TO DRIVE THIS CAR? NO WAY. AND WITH TOYOTA'S REPUTATION OVER THE LAST 10 YEARS WITH HANDLING THE SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION PROBLEMS WOULD YOU TRUST THIS CAR? NO WAY. WE WANT TO BE DONE WITH TOYOTA. THE CAR NEEDS TO BE SENT TO THE JUNKYARD. AND WE WANT THE PURCHASE-MONEY LOAN CANCELLED AND OUR DOWN PAYMENT BACK. AND WE WILL GO TO ANOTHER CAR MANUFACTURER. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE MADE A STRONG VIBRATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTOR NEEDED TO BE PREPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTUERER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,240.
AT TIME WHEN YOU PRESS THE ACCELERATOR THE ENGINE WILL NOT RESPOND, THEN IT JUMPS AND TAKES OFF VERY FAST. I THINK IT IS DANGEROUS WHEN CHANGING LANE, COMING ON A RAMP INTO THE INTERSTATE OR OTHER FAST MOVING LANES. BOTH NOT MOVING AND/OR JUMPING ON THE TRAFFIC. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A COMPUTER PROBLEM AND CANNOT BE TUNED?
MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE AND THE SUNROOF EXPLODED/SHATTERED. MY CAR WAS BRAND NEW WHEN I GOT IT A YEAR AGO. I'M NOT SURE IF IT HAD A DEFECTIVE GLASS OR WHAT. I DO RECALL IT WAS A HOT DAY THOUGH. HOWEVER, HOW COME THE SUNROOF GLASS IS NOT MADE OUT OF LAMINATED GLASS AS THE WINDSHIELD. THANK GOODNESS I WAS NOT DRIVING AT THAT TIME. WE SHOULD DEFINITELY HAVE SUNROOF SAFETY STANDARDS.
WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS AT LOW SPEED, NORMALLY BETWEEN 30-50MPH MY CAR VIBRATES OR SHUDDERS. IT ONLY DOES THIS WHEN I'M TRYING TO MAINTAIN THOSE LOWER SPEEDS, SO THE PEDAL IS JUST BARELY BEING PRESSED DOWN. ONCE I'M ON THE HIGHWAY ABOVE 50MPH I DON'T HAVE ANY ISSUES.
BOTH SIDES POPPED OUT ON THE FRONT BUMPER BY THE SIGNAL LIGHTS. I HAVE SEEN THIS ON OTHER VEHICLES LIKE MINE. THIS IS NOT FROM ANY WRECKS JUST POOR WORK. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO 3 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS AND THEY SAY IT IS NOT A RECALL.
MILDEW SMELL COMING FROM AIR VENT EVERY TIME USING THE AC. USING AIR REFRESHER GIVES ONLY TEMPORARY SOLUTION. THE PROBLEM IS WORST IN VERY HOT SUMMER DAY. I HAVE A 2 MONTHS NEWBORN WHO RIDES THE CAR AND I AM WORRIED ABOUT THIS HEALTH CONCERN.
