STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT AFTER COMING OFF OF A HIGHWAY EXIT, AND CAR STALLED. BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. RESTARTED IGNITION AND CAR WORKED FINE FOR A FEW MILES. STALLED AGAIN AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AT A STOP SIGN. STRONGLY BELIEVE ECM IS FAULTY. COULD BE CONNECTED TO TOYOTA RECALL 10V384000.
AS I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT I BEGAN TO STEP ON THE BRAKES AND THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO CRASH INTO A WALL CAUSING A MAJOR INJURIES TO MY BODY AND CAR. THE CAR WOULD NO LONGER START AND I HAD TO TOW THE CAR TO MY HOME UNTIL A MECHANIC CAME TO START THE CAR AND WE HAD NOTICED THAT WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK IT WILL KEEP GOING.

THE CONTACT CALLED SMART MOTORS TOYOTA (5901 ODANA RD, MADISON, WI 53719, (608) 275-7808) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN THREE TIMES TO THE SAME DEALER, BUT THE PART WAS STILL NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER GAVE THE PART TO SOMEONE ELSE THE FIRST TIME. THE SECOND TIME, A USED AIR BAG PART WAS TEMPORARILY INSTALLED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART AFTER THE CRASH. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE CHEST, BUT MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT REQUIRED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY GOING 65 MPH AND MY CAR DIED. OIL WAS AT NORMAL LEVEL. GAS AT 3/4 TANK. ALMOST GOT INTO A MAJOR ACCIDENT WITH BIG TANKER TRUCKS ON SIDE OF ME. MECHANIC SAYS THAT ENGINE SEIZED BUT DOESN'T KNOW WHY.
2005 TOYOTA COROLLA 80,132 MILES THE CAR DIED YESTERDAY IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD. FORTUNATELY, MY SON WAS STILL CLOSE TO HOME AND I WAS ABLE TO HELP PUSH THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAIT FOR ROAD SERVICE. WHEN I GOT HOME I CHECKED THE ENGINE AND COMPONENTS BUT HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO GET POWER GOING TO THE FUEL PUMP. ALL RELAYS AND FUSES ARE GOOD. I PURCHASED A NEW FUEL PUMP AND THE CAR WILL STILL WILL NOT START. A TECHNICIAN SUGGESTED IT WAS A ECU FAILURE AND THESE HAD RECALLS.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000.
SYMPTOMS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN I PUSHED THE GAS AT APPROX. 50 MPH, THE CAR IS NOT GAINING SPEED, INSTEAD, THE CAR WAS LOSING LOSING POWER. EARLIER THIS WEEK, MY CAR STUTTER AFTER THE INPUT OF GASOLINE. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON YESTERDAY AND I BROUGHT IT TO A LOCAL PARTS STORE FOR A CODE READ. THE CODE IS P0741, SOLENOID CIRCUIT.
THE 2005 COROLLA WAS SLOWED DOWN FOR TRAFFIC AHEAD ON THE HIGHWAY AND REAR ENDED BY A DRIVER, WHO THEN COLLIDED WITH ANOTHER CAR. AFTER BEING REAR ENDED THE 2005 COROLLA THEN HIT ANOTHER CAR. THE AIR BAG AS DEPLOYED AND THE DRIVER (THE ONLY PERSON IN THE CAR ) WAS NOT ALIVE WHEN FIRST RESPONDERS ARRIVED. THE AT FAULT DRIVER THEN REAR ENDED ANOTHER DRIVER (WHO SURVIVED). FRONT DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT NO LONGER BUCKELS ,AND THE SPEED IS TO SLOW IS BEEN LIKE THAT SINCE WE GET THE CAR.

PAINT ON ROOF, HOOD, AND TRUNK HAD RAPIDLY RUSTED OVER THE PAST 3-4 YEARS. CAR WAS BOUGHT NEW IN 2005 IN CALIFORNIA BUT I'VE LIVED IN LOUISIANA FOR 8.5 YEARS (AS OF JAN 2018). THE ROOF IS COMPLETELY RED RUSTED, THE HOOD HAS WORN PAINT AND LOTS OF CHIPS, AND THE TRUNK IS BEGINNING TO GET THE SAME "SUN DAMAGE" LOOKING PAINT WEAR THAT THE HOOD HAS.

Passenger air bag has been recalled and replaced twice. Drivers air bag light has been on quite some time. Has it or will it be recalled?
MY CAR WHEN LEFT ON IN PARK WILL SHUT OFF BY ITSELF AFTER A SHORT TIME (THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE), TODAY WHEN I WAS IN DRIVE AND ABOUT TO PULL OUT OF WORK IT SHUT OFF. I RESTARTED IT AND EVERYTHING WORKED FINE. THE CAR WAS NOT MOVING WHEN IT SHUT OFF, BUT BOTH TIMES THE ENGINE AND OIL LIGHT CAME (THERE MIGHT HAVE BEEN ANOTHER LIGHT) ON BUT WHEN RESTARTED THEY WENT OFF.

I ONLY HAVE 44,000 MILES ON MY 2005 TOYOTA COROLLA AND THE AIR COMPRESSOR WENT OUT. I HAVE READ THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED IN NUMEROUS COROLLAS FROM THE SAME YEAR. I BELIEVE THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO AND RECALLED OR I WILL SELL MY CAR AND NEVER BUY A TOYOTA AGAIN. I WILL ALSO POST ON SOCIAL MEDIA ABOUT TOYOTA'S NEGLIGENCE AND MISTREATMENT OF CUSTOMERS. CAR APPEARED TO BE RUNNING FINE. WENT TO GET A SMOG, " CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT ON, AS A RESULT I FAILED SMOG. CODE REVEALED WAS PO741( TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE OR STUCK OFF) UPON VEHICLE INSPECTION FROM CANAL TRANSMISSION IN EL CAJON, CA. OWNER REVEALED THAT HE HAD COME ACROSS THIS PROBLEM ABOUT 10 TIMES WITH TOYOTA COROLLAS. HE REVEALED THAT EACH TIME HE TRIED TO FIX TORQUE CONVERTER, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD STILL REMAIN WITH SAME CODE AFTER REPAIR. HE SAID THEY FINALLY REALIZED THAT IT WAS AN ECM ISSUE AND NOT A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. IN 2010 TOYOTA DID A RECALL ON ECM. SO WHAT DO I DO? CODE IS PREVENTING ME FROM GETTING A SMOG, YET WHEN REPAIR OF TORQUE CONVERTER ATTEMPTED CHECK ENGINE CODE PO741 STILL REMAINS. I CONTACTED DEALER REGARDING CODE, THEY SCANNED CAR, THE SAME CODE APPEARED. ALL THEY OFFERED WAS 400 TO TEAR INTO TRANSMISSION TO SEE IF THEY COULD FIND ISSUE. SO IN CLOSING , WE HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REVEALING CODE P0741; THAT WHEN REPAIRS ATTEMPTED ,REPAIR CANT SEEM TO BE FIXED SATISFACTORILY TO CLEAR THE LIGHT, BECAUSE THROUGH EXPERIENCE OF TRANSMISSION SHOP IT IS A FAULTY CODE AND THE REAL PROBLEM LIES WITHIN THE ECM, WHICH WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED DURING TOYOTA RECALL. SO WHAT DO I DO? I NEED MY CAR SMOGGED TO DRIVE.WHAT OTHER PROBLEMS WILL THE ECM CREATE IN THE FUTURE? TOYOTA NEEDS TO RECALL ECM AGAIN FOR THIS SPECIFIC PROBLEM AND OTHER PROBLEMS THAT MAY BE CREATED DUE TO THE FAULT Y ECM.
TAKATA RACALL AIRBAG
TAKATA RECALL - I TOOK MY CAR TO MAKE THE LABOR BECAUSE THE TAKATA RECALL AND FEW MONTH LATER THE LIGHT OF THE AIR BAG IN THE FRONT PANEL IS ON (RED). THEN I TAKE MY OTHER CAR (THE SAME MODEL AND YEAR EXCEPT FOR THE COLOR) AND HAPPEN THE SAME THING. TODAY BOTH CARS HAVE THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON. NO BODY HAVE FOUND WHY, BUT IT WAS AFTER THE LABOR BECAUSE OF THE RECALL OF THE AIRBAGS. I DONT REMEMBER RIGHT NOW THE SPECIFIC DATE.
TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID PERFORMANCE. MY 18 OLD DAUGHTER JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM THIS MAN WHO HAD RESET THE CAR SO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD GO OFF. AFTER US DRIVING IT HOME AND SERVER MILES LATER IT WENT OFF. HE SAID HE HAD FLUSHED THE TRANSMISSION OIL AND THAT HIS MECHANIC HAD TOLD HIM TO JUST RESET IT AND IT WOULD BE FINE OBVIOUSLY IT WAS NOT FINE. WE TOOK IT TO OUR MECHANIC WHO IS A VERY HONEST MECHANIC HAD STATED THAT THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE . HE PULLED UP SOME RECALLS AND INDICATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL DONE ON MODELS 04305 COROLLA UNFORTUNATELY THE VIN NUMBERS WERE 1ZZ -FE. I'M CALLING THE DEALERSHIPS AND ALL THEY CAN TELL ME IS THAT THIS MAY HAVE BEEN AN EXPIRED RECALL ON MY VEHICLE THEREFORE IT'S NO LONGER UNDER THE WARRANTY OF THE RECALL . THEY'RE NOT TELLING ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS THEY'RE JUST SAYING THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS PARTICULAR VIN NUMBER . WITH ALL THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE I'VE SEEN A LOT OF THIS ISSUE HAS ARRIVED WITH OTHER VIN NUMBERS BUT NO RECALL HAS BEEN OPEN . AT THIS POINT I'M NOT EVEN TOO SURE WHAT TO DO OTHER THAN GET A NEW TRANSMISSION OR REBUILT THIS TRANSMISSION.
I AM TRYING TO LOCATE A DEALER IN THIS AREA AND TRYING TO FIND OUT IF I HAVE OUTSTANDING RECALLS, I NEED TO KNOW IF MY AIR BAGS WERE PART OF THE RECALL. I VISITED A DEALER AND HAD ONE RECALL FIXED, THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO CALL ME ON ANOTHER AND NEVER HEARD FROM THEM.
THE CAR SHUTS DOWN AND STOPS WITHOUT WARNING. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO TOYOTA 2 X THIS MONTH AND STILL NOT FIXED. IT WAS JUST TOWED AGAIN TODAY. THIS SEEMS TO HAPPEN ONCE THE CAR IS DRIVEN FOR AWHILE AND GETS WARMED UP. WHEN IT SITS FOR AWHILE IT WILL START AGAIN. I NOTICED THAT TOYOTA RECALLED SOME 2005 COROLLAS FOR ECM REPLACEMENT BUT I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL. MY RESEARCH SEEMS TO INDICATE THIS CAR IS HAVING ECM PROBLEMS. TOYOTA HAS ALREADY REPLACED FUEL REGULATOR SENSOR( 1ST TIME) AND OXYGEN SENSOR (2ND TIME) BUT AS STATED ABOVE IT HAPPENED AGAIN 3 DAYS AFTER SECOND REPAIR. MY 17 YR OLD GRAND DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS CAR. I BELIEVE IT IS THE EMC AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN PART OF THE RECALL. THIS IS DEADLY. THE CAR JUST STOPS. IMAGINE DRIVING ACROSS A BRIDGE 65 MILE AN HOUR AND YOUR CAR STOPS NO POWER NO ACCELERATION AND YOU THINK YOUR CAR HAS BEEN FIXED BY CERTIFIED TOYOTA MECHANIC. IF ON A HILL YOU CANNOT EVEN GET OFF THE ROAD. HELP!!! ONCE SHE WAS ON A STREET AND ONCE ON HIGHWAY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S FRONTAL AIR BAG WAS REPLACED SIX MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CRASH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.

PAINT IS COMING OFF AND THE CART HOOD HAS BEEN ROUGH AT ALL SIDES. THE ORIGINAL COLOR IS GRAY AND NOW LOOKS AT SCRAPPING AT ALL THE CAR HOOD. I DON'T KNOW WHAT DO TO BECAUSE IT LOOKS UGLY AND I NEVER WANTED MY CAR TO BE LIKE THIS. THE VEHICLE IT'S IN NORMAL FUNCTION AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN IN HOUSE CARPORT.
TAKATA RECALL: THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WAS REPLACED UNDER A RECALL SEVERAL YEARS AGO. THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS NOW ON. ALSO, THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL BEARING HAS BEEN REPLACED AT LEAST SIX TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN DECEMBER, 2008. THE FIRST TWO OR THREE WERE REPLACED WHILE THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, BUT I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE SAME RIGHT FRONT WHEEL BEARING ANOTHER THREE TO FOUR TIMES THEREAFTER AT MY OWN EXPENSE. THE LAST TIME I HAD TO REPLACE THE WHEEL BEARING WAS IN DECEMBER, 2016, WHILE ON VACATION. IT SEEMS THE PROBLEM JUST HASN'T BEEN PERMANENTLY SOLVED. SO FRUSTRATING AND EXPENSIVE FOR ANOTHER WONDERFUL VEHICLE.
I HAVE BEEN A BIG PROPONENT OF COOPER TIRES DUE TO THEIR MANUFACTURING PROCESSES. I'VE SINCE CHANGED MY MIND DUE TO THE 3 BLOW OUTS WE'VE HAD WITH THE CS4 TOURING (2) AND NOW MOST RECENT CS5 GRAND TOURING LINE. THE CS5 TIRES WERE PURCHASED LESS THAN A YEAR AGO. ALL HAVE BEEN ON THE SIDEWALL AND ALL HAVE BEEN ON THE FREEWAY GOING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT APPEARS COOPER TIRES DOES NOT CARE ABOUT PEOPLE LIVES! OBVIOUSLY QUALITY IS NOT ONE OF THEIR CORE VALUES. TRY BEING IN TRAFFIC ON THE FREEWAY AND HAVING A BLOW OUT THOSE ARE THE CONSEQUENCES. FORTUNATELY NOBODY WAS HURT JUST EXTREMELY SCARED. I WILL BE TAKING THE TIRES BACK TO EXPRESS TIRES TO SEE WHAT KIND OF SUPPORT THEY WILL PROVIDE. BTW ONLY OPTION TO SELECT IS CS4 TOURING BUT THESE ARE THE CS5 GRAND TOURING. SAME PROBLEM BUILT INTO THE NEWER MODEL.

AIRBAG LIGHT HAS STAYED ON SINCE THE CAR WAS SERVICED BY TOYOTA DEALER IN DES MOINE, IOWA IN NOV. 2016. TOYOTA OF CINCINNATI JUST TOLD ME OVER THE PHONE IT WOULD COST OVER $600 TO FIX IT WITHOUT EVEN SEEING THE CAR.
AIR BAGS DID NOT GO OFF IN A HARD COLLISION WITH A DEER. COVERING OF BUMPER GONE, HOOD BENT 18"+-, RADIATOR PUSHED INTO ENGINE ,FRAME BENT ON DRIVER'S SIDE IN FRONT OF THE DOOR. CAR NOT DRIVEABLE AND YET THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. STATE FARM HAS THE CAR POLICY 182 5776-C28-23A. POLICE REPORT BEC ICR 16-17141, BLUE EARTH COUNTY , MN STATE FARM CLAIM 23-0177-0W2. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN OWNED BY FAMILY MEMBERS SINCE PURCHASED NEW. OUR CONCERN IS THAT THE AIR BAG DID NOT GO OFF AND IT POSSIBLY WAS UNHOOKED.

ON THE DAY OF MY APPOINTMENT I WENT THERE AND THEY TOLD ME THEY REPLACED THE AIR BAG AND THAT I WAS ALL SET THEN I LEFT.TWO WEEKS AFTER WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON MY WAY HOME MY AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON, I IMMEDIATLY CALLED BOCH TOYOTA THEY ASKED THAT I BRING THE CAR, I WENT THERE DIRECTLY. WHEN I ARRIVED THEY TOOK MY CAR TO GO CHECK WHY THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ON, I REMINDED THEM THAT I WAS THERE TWO WEEKS AGO MAYBE THEY HAD FORGTOTTEN TO DO SOMETHING. THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME HE WOULD HAVE A MECHANIC TAKE A LOOK; AN HOUR AFTER ANOTHER SERVICE ADVISR LARRY CAME AND TOLD ME THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED THAT I WOULD COST ME $800. I TOLD HIM I HAD MY CAR FOR 11 YEARS AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT NEVER HAD ANY ISSUE UNTIL I BROUGHT MY CAR THERE FOR THEM TO FIX THE AIR BAG AS REQUESTED BY THE TOYOTA COMPANY;LARRY TOLD ME THE ISSUE THE CAR HAS NOW IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE SAFETY RECALL AND THAT MY ONLY OPTION WAS TO GET IT FIX, HE ALSO SAID THAT IF I WAS INVOLVE IN A CAR ACCIDENT THE AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY. I TOLD HIM THAT IT WAS BOCH TOYOTA'S RESPONSIBILTY TO FIX IT, HE TOLD ME IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE. NEXT THEY BROUGHT MY CAR FOR ME THEN I LEFT. MY AIR BAG LIGHT IS STILL ON IN THE CAR, I HAVE ASKED TWO MECHANICS FOR SUGGESTIONS AND THEY BOTH INFORMED ME THAT BOCH TOYOTA SHOULD HAVE TAKEN CARE OF IT. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE CONTACT ME ? DEALER DIAGNOSIS FOR $100 IS THAT IT NEEDS AN ENTIRE NEW 5 SPD TRANS AND CLUTCH ASSEMBLY, ALTHOUGH CLUTCH SEEMS FINE.I'VE DRIVEN MANUAL TRANS FOR OVER 40 YRS. THIS CAR NEVER EVEN HAD A CLUTCH REPAIR. RESEARCH ON THE WEB INDICATES THAT THIS IS A KNOWN POINT OF FAILURE THAT TOYOTA HAS CHOSEN NOT TO FIX AND THE POTENTIAL DANGER OF HAVING THIS TRANSMISSION BLOWING OUT AT HIGH SPEED COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR CRASH ON THE HIGHWAY HAD I NOT BEEN SKILLED AT GETTING THE CAR INTO A SAFE AREA. *TR
