MY WIFE HAD A COLLISION AND MY COROLLA BECAME TOTAL BUT AIRBAG NEVER INFLATE
KNOCKING , RATTLNG, ON ROUGH STREET, 4 DOOR, LE, IN MOTION, STARTED ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO. SCARY
THE REAR SEAT WAS ALWAYS TOUGH TO GET IT TO STAY LOCKED IN PLACE AFTER FOLDING THE SEAT DOWN. AT 70,000 MILES, ONE HALF OF THE 60/40 SEAT WOULD NOT STAY LOCKED IN POSITION, AFTER BEING FOLDED DOWN. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER, THE WHOLE SEAT LOCKING MECHANISM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $300. FURTHERMORE, THE PART IS ON A 'NATIONAL BACKORDER', AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THIS PART WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR INSTALLATION. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A PART THAT SHOULD LAST WELL BEYOND THE USEFUL LIFE OF THE VEHICLE, AND IS A VERY ODD PART TO FAIL. THIS PART HAS BEEN TROUBLE FOR SOME TIME, AND FAILED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, BUT MEANS I CAN'T HAVE ANYONE IN THE AFFECTED PART OF THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, UNTIL THIS PART IS REPLACED.
TAKATA RECALL. STONE MOUNTAIN TOYOTA HAS BEEN EXTREMELY UNRESPONSIVE IN MY EFFORTS TO GET THE TAKATA RECALL ON MY VEHICLE ACCOMPLISHED. MY VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AT THIS DEALERSHIP AND THEY SEEM TO TRY TO DELAY OR IMPEDE THE PROCESS OF REPLACING THE AFFECTED PART. THEY CLAIM, FROM THE BEGINNING, THAT I MUST LEAVE MY VEHICLE WITH THEM OVERNIGHT TO GET THE WORK DONE. I KNOW THAT THE ACTUAL REPAIR TIME IS 10 MINUTES AND THAT THE DEALER HAS UP TO 1 1/2 HOURS TO DO THE WORK, ALSO, THE FACT THAT I MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE WORK TO BE DONE SO THAT THEY CAN SCHEDULE THE NECESSARY PERSONNEL TO COMPLETE THE WORK SHOULD BE ADEQUATE FOR THEM TO DO THE WORK NEEDED. MY APPOINTMENT WAS MARCH 26, 2018 AT 3:00 PM AND WHEN I ARRIVED THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE CAR HAD TO BE LEFT AT THE DEALERSHIP OVERNIGHT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE SINCE I NEED THE VEHICLE TO GO TO WORK. THEY MAKE NO EFFORT TO COMPLETE THE REPAIRS IN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME. THE ADDRESS FOR STONE MOUNTAIN TOYOTA IS 4400 US HIGHWAY 78, LILBURN, GA 30047 AND THEIR PHONE NUMBER IS 770-736-0030.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRAC OFF WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR TOYOTA DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,500.
TAKATA RECALL
IT'S HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT TAKATA DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG HASN'T BEEN REPLACED BY THE DEALER. THE TOYOTA DEALER REPLACED PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO. I DON'T THINK THEY HAVE REPLACED THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG WHICH COULD BE DANGEROUS IN A CRASH.
DIFFICULT TO STEER AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE PULLS TO THE LEFT AND IT'S TERRIFYING TRYING TO DRIVE EVEN SHORT DISTANCES ON THE HIGHWAY OR SURFACE STREETS WITH AN ELEVATED MPH VALUE. IF I DO NOT ACTIVELY KEEP MY STEERING WHEEL TURNING TOWARDS THE RIGHT, I WILL SURELY CRASH INTO A VEHICLE IN THE NEXT LANE. EXTREMELY UNSAFE!
"TAKATA RECALL" ABS DOES NOT WORK AND WAS DIAGNOSED BY TOYOTA. TOYOTA WANTS $4500.00 TO FIX IT. CAR HAS 53,000 MILES ON IT.
4 MONTHS AGO THEY REPLACED BOTH FRONT AXLES AND 3 MONTHS IN PASSENGER FRONT AXLE INNER PART BROKE IN HALF. HAD PART WARRANTIED AND PUT IN ANOTHER RIGHT FRONT AXLE. 2 WEEKS IN AND AXLE HAS WENT BAD AGAIN. ALL THE AXLES CANT BE BAD, THERE IS OBVIOSULY AN ISSUE WITH THIS CAR AND RIGHT FRONT AXLES. I THINK A RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED.

TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 TOYOTA COROLLA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN APPOINTMENT WAS MADE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V024000 (AIR BAGS). THE VEHICLE WAS DROPPED OFF AT THE DEALER, BUT THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED FOUR HOURS LATER THAT THE DEALER DID NOT HAVE TIME TO REPAIR THE RECALL BECAUSE IT WAS CLOSING TIME. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT A LOANER VEHICLE WOULD BE AVAILABLE TO DRIVE UNTIL THE RECALL WAS REPAIRED. UPON ARRIVAL, THE DEALER EXPRESSED THAT THERE WERE NO MORE LOANER VEHICLES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THERE WAS NO ESTIMATED TIMEFRAME FOR THE REPAIR. THE DEALER INFORMATION WAS UNKNOWN. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 4 AT ABOUT 7 PM, IT HAD BEEN A RAINY DAY WITH A LOT OF HUMIDITY, LEAVING MY PARENTS' HOUSE A BLOCK BEFORE THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THE AIR BAGS WERE ACTIVATED AND AS A RESULT OF THAT I LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE AND I CAUGHT THE LIGHT IN RED. AS A RESULT ALMOST A FATAL ACCIDENT MY MOTHER WAS IN THE HOSPITAL IN INTENSIVE CARE FOR 3 DAYS, ME AND MY NEPHEWS WITH MANY BLOWS, THANK GOD NOT VERY SERIOUS. BUT THE PEOPLE WHO IMPACTED ME AS A RESULT OF NOT STOPPING AT THE RED LIGHT, ALSO SUFFERED MANY INJURIES. THAT I HAVE TO DO? THANK YOU
TAKATA RECALL: ON 2-28-18 AFTER I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM TOYOTA MOTOR SALES, 6565 HEADQUARTERS DRIVE, PLANO, TX 75024 I CONTACTED MY USUAL SERVICE CENTER WHICH IS STERLING MCCALL TOYOTA (HOUSTON, TX) & TOLD THEM MY VEHICLE NEEDED AIRBAG REPLACEMENT ACCORDING TO THE LETTER. I WAS TOLD I WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN AIRBAGS WOULD BE AVAILABLE, BUT NOW IT IS JULY 13 & I STILL HAVEN'T HEARD FROM THEM. I ONLY CALLED THAT ONE TIME IN FEBRUARY BECAUSE I FORGOT ABOUT IT UNTIL NOW; HOWEVER, I GAVE THEM A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO CONTACT ME & THEY HAVEN'T.

CALLED TOYOTA TO SEE IF IT HAD ANY RECALLS LAST SPRING AND I WAS TOLD I WOULD RECEIVE ANY RECALL NOTICE... I ASKED AGAIN IF ANY TAKATA PARTS AND WAS TOLD NO AGAIN BUT WOULD BE CONTACTED IF SO IN FUTURE IF RECALLS. SO TOYOTA DID KNOW THEY WERE ON MY VEHICLE ! AFTER WAITING FOR MONTHS, THE CONTACT HAD NOT YET RECEIVED A RESPONSE FROM THE DEALER. THERE WAS NO MENTION OF A LOANER VEHICLE OPTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED TO OPERATE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED BEFORE OR AFTER THE FAILURE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
MY DAUGHTER HAS THE 2013 TOYOTA COROLLA AND SHE WAS IN A SERIOUS SITUATION. SHE WAS FOLLOWED BY 3 PEOPLE AND WHEN SHE STOPPED AND PARKED HER CAR THE DOORS AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCKED AND BEFORE SHE KNEW IT SOMEONE OPENED HER DOOR AND DRAGGED HER OUT OF THE CAR AND SHE WAS JUMPED ON BY 3 PEOPLE. BECAUSE HER DOORS AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCKED MY DAUGHTER WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED. IF THE DOORS DID NOT AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK WHEN YOU PUT THE CAR IN PARK SHE COULD HAVE BEEN SAFE. I HAVE TWO COROLLAS. ONE I DRIVE 2016 AND ONE MY DAUGHTER DRIVES 2013 AND THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I THINK THEIR SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE. MY DAUGHTER COULD HAVE BEEN BEATEN TO DEATH BECAUSE HER DOORS AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCKED BUT SHE WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED. I WILL BE FILLING MORE COMPLAINTS UNTIL THIS IS RESOLVED.

SUDDENLY, THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE AND THE TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HAD TO CONSTANTLY PLACE AIR IN THE TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC (DRACUT TIRE SHOP, INC., 1269 LAKEVIEW AVE, DRACUT, MA 01826 (978) 957-0782), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. ALL FOUR TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT NO RECALL WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VIN. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL. IT MAY SPRAY METAL DEBRIS TOWARD VEHICLE OCCUPANTS AND MAY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY

DRIVER WAS IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. VEHICLE WAS GOING 25-30 MPH AND HIT A LARGER VEHICLE FROM BEHIND. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY FOR THE DRIVER. NO PASSENGER IN CAR. DRIVER WAS PROVIDED EMERGENCY MEDIAL ATTENTION AT THE SCENE.

THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON EVERY DAY FOR OVER 3 MONTHS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO PRODUCED AN ENGINE CODE OF P02198. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
TOOK MY CAR IN FOR A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, SLIPPING OF THE TRANSMISSION. I WAS CALLED AND TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS FINE AND THAT THE NEW SV TRANSMISSIONS HANDLE DIFFERENTLY FROM THE OLDER TRANSMISSIONS, I SHOULDN'T BE WORRIED. THEN I WAS TOLD THAT I NEED TO REPLACE THE FRONT AND REAR BRAKES AS THEY ARE BAD. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT I RUINED THE BRAKES BY DRIVING THE CAR HARD. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN MY THIRTY FOUR YEARS OF DRIVING THAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I RUIN BRAKES. WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IT HAD 14599 MILES. WHEN I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE IT HAD 24397. LESS THAN 10,000 MILES HAD BEEN DRIVEN ON THIS VEHICLE AND I AM BEING TOLD THAT I HAVE TO SPEND 600 DOLLARS ON A BRAKE JOB. I HAVE OWNED MANY CARS, DIFFERENT MAKES AND MODELS AND I HAVE NEVER EVER HAD TO REPLACE BRAKES, ROTORS, PADS, DRUMS, SHOES SO SOON. I BELIEVE THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS DEFECTIVE ROTORS, DRUMS AND SHOULD BE REPLACED AT MANUFACTURERS/DEALERS COST. I OWN A 2011 KIA SPORTAGE AND DROVE THAT FOR CLOSE TO 60,000 MILES BEFORE HAVING TO DO BRAKES. THE BRAKES HAVE A PULSATING, VIBRATING WHEN BRAKING ON HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND ON CITY ROADS. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AS WELL. BRAKES ON A VEHICLE WITH SUCH LOW MILES SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE REPLACED SO SOON.
PURCHASED VEHICLE SEPTEMBER 2015 WITH 59,000 MILES. 8 MONTHS LATER THE MASTER CYLINDER MALFUNCTIONS. BRAKE PEDAL HAS TO BE PUSHED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND MAKES A WEIRD NOISE, LIKE A CREAKING NOISE. I TAKE IT TO BE REPAIRED. THEY BLEED THE BRAKES. TEMPORARY FIX. NOVEMBER 2016, SAME PROBLEM AND I TAKE IT TO BE REPAIRED AND MASTER CYLINDER IS REPLACED. 5 MONTHS LATER, SAME PROBLEM AND THE MASTER CYLINDER IS BEING REPLACED AGAIN FOR THE 2ND TIME.
I WAS DRIVING IN COLLEGE PARK AND THIS GIRL WAS DRIVING SO RECKLESS IT SEEMED LIKE SHE WAS TRYING TO RACE SOMEONE AND SHE KEPT SWERVING IN FRONT OF ME BUT SHE ALMOST HIT ME 5 TIMES I LITERALLY I HAD TO SWERVE MY CAR TO A CROSSING LANE IN THE MIDDLE SO MUCH I WAS GETTING SO PISSED SHE WAS DRIVING CRAZY AS [XXX] I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE [XXX] IS WRONG WITH BUT SHE SHOULDN'T BE DRIVING AND SHE'S ALSO A LYFT DRIVER AND I DON'T SHE'S FIT FOR THAT BC SHE'S CRAZY. I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT TURNING,LEFT AT A BIG INTERSECTION IN POOLER, GA THERE WAS A DOUBLE TURN LANE. I TALKED MY BRAKES AS OTHER CAR NEXT TO ME WAS IN MY LANE ON THE TURN. HE ADJUSTED AND I PRECEDED UP THE INCLINED ROAD TO WHERE CARS WERE STOPPED WAITING FOR THE LIGHT. I WAS HORRIFIED AS I REALIZED MY BRAKES WAS NOT STOPPING BY THE TIME MY BRAIN COMPUTED THEY WAS NOT WORKING,WHEN THEY JUST WORKED SECONDS EARLIER. NEXT THEN I HEARD A GUN SHOT NOISE FROM AIR BAGS EXPLODING AND WAS IN THE REAR END OF AN SUV. I RECALL MY BRAKES WAS REPLACED AT 37000 MILES PAD WERE THIN AND CONSTANT BRAKE DUST DAILY ON MY RIMS. I AM FORTUNATE MINOR INJURIES AND WAS GOING AT A LOW SPEED. THIS COULD OF BEEN A FATAL ACCIDENT IF ON THE FREEWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS. MY BRAKES FAILING CAUSES ME HIGH ANXIETY AND,FEAR WHEN DRIVING NOW. INSURANCE COMPANY DOES NOT INSPECT MY BRAKES ISSUE WHICH IS DISHEARTENING SINCE THIS WAS THE CAUSE OF MY ACCIDENT. I WAS GOING ABOUT 15 TO 20 AND BRAKING TO SLOW DOWN SO I THOUGHT THEN REALIZED MY CAR WAS NOT STOPPING.

HE HAD HIS SEATBELT ON AND THEN HE STARTED COMPLAINING THAT IT WAS GETTING TIGHTER SO I PULLED OVER AND TRIED GETTING THE SEATBELT TO UNLOCK. IT WOULD NOT UNLOCK AND WAS GETTING TIGHTER. FINALLY I HAD TO GO INTO A GAS STATION AND BORROW A PAIR OF SCISSORS TO CUT THE SEATBELT SO MY SON COULD GET OUT
TRUNK LATCH IS DEFECTIVE - RANDOMLY OPENS. HAD IT FIXED FOR $350. OPENS WHEN DRIVING AND WHEN PARKED. TOYOTA DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS A RECALL WITH THE 2009 MODEL. HAPPENED TWICE ON 12/29/17 AND HAD IT FIXED ON 01/16/17.
PREOWNED 2013 TOYOTA COROLLA IN THIS CAR HAVE A CARFAX REPORT THAT SAYS IN 2 PREVIOUS ACCIDENTS THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYDED. AS ITS 3RD OWNER PURCHASED WITH 46958MILES I HAVE NOTICED THAT I THE VEHICLE BRAKES TO HARD. AND WHEN I STEP LIGHTLY ON THE BRAKE IT CONTINUES TO DRIVE TILL I STEP HARTER ON THE BRAKE. ITS HARDLY NOTICEABLE AND TO CATCH. 3RD ISHU IS THAT WHEN I US THE AC IT USES TOO MUCH FULE. ALSO WITH THE AC TURNED OFF IT IS STILL BLOWING OUT COOL AIR AT A LOW LEVEL THAT COULD BE SENSED BY PLACING YOUR HANDS BY THE AIR VENTS.

I WAS ALMOST CRUSHED BY MY CAR WHILE PERFORMING AN OIL CHANGE. I HAD THE CAR JACKED UP ON THE PASSENGER SIDE USING THE STOCK JACK. THIS WAS IN MY GARAGE ON LEVEL CONCRETE. I DRAINED THE OIL AND REPLACED THE OIL PAN PLUG WITH NO ISSUE. I WENT TO TO LOOSEN THE OIL FILTER CAP WITH THE SPECIALITY SOCKET COVER I ORDERED ONLINE. I MADE SURE TO SPRING OUT THE METAL CLIP THAT PREVENTS A LOSE CAP FROM COMING OFF. I WENT TO TORQUE THE CAP LOSE AND IT DID NOT BUDGE. KEEPING IN MIND WHEN TORQUING ONES FORCE IS GOING TO THE BACK OF THE CAR. I GAVE THE WRENCH ANOTHER GOOD PUSH AND THE NOTICED THE CAR WOBBLED. I PULLED OUT IMMEDIATELY AND IN THE NEXT 5 SECONDS THE JACK GAVE WAY. THE STOCK JACK LOOKS TO BE DESIGNED TO HANDLE SIDE TO MOTION BUT NOT THAT MUCH BACK TO FRONT. THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE A WAY TO PRELOOSEN THE CAP BEFORE RAISING THE CAR EITHER. EITHER WAY PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS. I COULD HAVE DIED TODAY AND WANT TO RAISE THIS AS AN ISSUE. THANK YOU. *TR
I HAD A VERY BAD ACCIDENT ON 8-11-2016 MY CAR IS TOTAL LOSS. MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY.
WHEN THE PASSENGER SEAT IS OCCUPIED BY AN ADULT AND THE CHARGING PORT IS USED, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DEACTIVATES. EVEN THOUGH THE SEAT BELT IS FASTENED AND THE PASSENGER SEAT IS OCCUPIED, THE FASTEN SEAT BELT LIGHT COMES ON, THE PASSENGER AIRBAG SHOWS OFF, AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASH COMES ON. I TOOK IT TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I PLUGGED IN A CHARGER FOR A CELL PHONE IN ORDER TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE ADVISER SAW THE LIGHTS COME ON. THE SERVICE ADVISER CONTACTED TOYOTA ASSISTANCE AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND HAVE NO CURRENT FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT DEACTIVATES THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG ON THE VEHICLE. THEY MENTIONED THAT THEY HAVE APPROXIMATELY 20 COMPLAINTS FOR THIS ISSUE, YET THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE ONLY SOLUTION GIVEN AT THIS POINT IS TO NOT USE THE CHARGING PORTS WHILE THE PASSENGER SEAT IS OCCUPIED.
