2247 MILES ON VEHICLE, IN 3 MONTHS OF DRIVING AND THE WINDSHIELD IS PITTED IN SEVERAL LOCATIONS, SOME ARE STARTING TO CRACK. THE FIRST ONE OCCURRED BEFORE I HAD DRIVEN 500 MILES.*AK THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT CONCERNS PROPER VISIBILITY AND WINDSHIELD INTEGRITY. THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD WITH A NEAR VERTICAL WINDSHIELD LIKE MINE, AND THEY ARE NOT HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. IT SEEMS THE GLASS IS REALLY FRAGILE ON THIS VEHICLE. I AM CURRENTLY WAITING ON A NEW WINDSHIELD TO COME INTO STOCK SO THAT IT CAN BE REPLACED.
I HAVE HAD MY FJ SINCE APRIL 23, 2006. THE WINDSHIELD ISSUE TOOK A LITTLE BIT LONGER TO CROSS MY PATH THAN IT SEEMS OTHERS. I WAS RIDING ALONG THE EXPRESSWAY WHEN I HEARD A SMALL SIZE PEBBLE HIT THE WINDSHIELD. DIDN'T THINK THAT MUCH OF IT BECAUSE IT WASN'T VERY LOUD. WELL I WAS MISTAKEN. LESS THAN 2 HOURS LATER IT HAD SPREAD TO A CRACK OF 6 INCHES. I COULDN'T EVEN GET IT REPAIRED. THAN I LOOKED AT THE FORUM AND SAW ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS. I DON'T WANT TO REPLACE BECAUSE I FEEL THERE SHOULD BE RECALL OR SUBSEQUENT REIMBURSEMENT. I DID HEAR OF A COMPANY CALLED CLEARPLEX WHERE THEY CAN STRENGTHEN THE WINDSHIELD BY ADDING A CLEAR THING PLASTIC PROTECTIVE COATING. DON'T GET ME WRONG I LOVE MY FJ, BUT THIS IS NOT RIGHT. THEY DID THE RIGHT THING WITH THE TIRE RECALL AND THAT WAS PROBABLY 750 PER CAR, REPLACING ALL 5 TIRES PLUS LABOR. I TRUST THEY WILL DO THE RIGHT THING. *TR
2007 TOYOTA FJ CRUISER. LARGE CRACK IN MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD FROM A ROCK. OTHER CRACKS ARISE FROM JUST SMALL TINY DEBRIS STRIKING THE WINDSHIELD. GLASS NEEDS TO BE SCRATCH AND DENT RESISTANT. REPLACEMENT WINDSHIELDS COSTS AROUND 1400 DOLLARS. THIS IS BECAUSE THE INSTALLATION INVOLVES REMOVING A TOP MOLDING PIECE THAT BREAKS EASILY AND THE UNIQUE CUT OF THE GLASS. IF YOU REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD, THE INSURANCE COMPANY COULD REFUSE TO INSURE YOU AFTER MULTIPLE INCIDENTS LIKE THIS BLATANT DEFECT. IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE OF GETTING THE CRACKS FIXED , COMPROMISES WINDSHIELD INTEGRITY. ALSO ONCE YOU REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD IT IS REPLACED WITH FACTORY OEM GLASS. WHICH CAN CRACK AGAIN! THIS IS JUST FROM CITY DRIVING NOT EVEN LONG DISTANCE DRIVING! *JB
2007 FJ CRUISER HAS A BAD WINDSHIELD DESIGN THAT CAUSES IT TO CRACK WITH NO CONTACT. IT STARTS AS A CRACK FROM THE BOTTOM BELLOW THE WIPER AND THEN CURVES LEFT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE WINDSHIELD IS VERY BRITTLE AND IS EASILY CRACK/CHIPPED BY ROAD DEBRIS. *AK
I OWN A 2007 TOYOTA FJ CRUISER. I FREQUENT A FORUM CALLED FJCRUISERFORUMS.COM. WE HAVE TONS OF PROBLEMS WITH WINDSHIELDS ON THE FJ CRUISER. CRACKS ARE A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH THESE WINDSHIELDS. I OWNED A JEEP WRANGLER FOR 4 YEARS. I HAD ONE TIME THAT I RECEIVED A CRACK TO THE WINDSHIELD. SO, THE ANGLE OF THE WINDOW ON THE FJ IS NOT THE PROBLEM. IT MUST BE A CHEAPER GRADE OF GLASS. A LOT OF PEOPLE ON THE WEBSITE LISTED ABOVE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THEIR WINDOW SEVERAL TIMES. I FORTUNATELY ONLY HAD ONE CRACK AS OF YET. BUT, I AM SURE THERE WILL BE MORE. THE CRACKS DEVELOP INTO A SPLINTERING EFFECT WHICH REQUIRES THE WINDSHIELD TO BE REPLACED. SO, INSURANCE PAYS AND PREMIUMS INCREASE OVER CHEAP GLASS. *AK
MY VEHICLE HAS AN ISSUE WITH FAILING TO QUICKLY RETURN TO IDLE SPEED WHEN I LET OFF THE THROTTLE OR SHIFT GEARS. IT DOES THIS CONSISTENTLY AND REPEATEDLY. THE OTHER DAY IT ALMOST CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER. WHEN I LET OFF THE THROTTLE, THE RPMS WILL CONTINUE AT A RELATIVELY HIGH RPM OR ACTUALLY CLIMB. THEN ABRUPTLY THE THROTTLE WILL "STAIR STEP" DOWN. IN THE SITUATION WHERE IT BECAME VERY DANGEROUS. I AM CRUISING ALONG ABOUT 40-45 MPH IN A DIFFERENT AREA. I POP OVER A LITTLE RISE AND ALL I SEE ARE TAIL LIGHTS AND CARS SPINNING AND SLIDING EVERYWHERE. I EASE OFF THE THROTTLE AND LIKE USUAL, NOTHING HAPPENS IMMEDIATELY. PRECIOUS FEET ARE CHEWED BEFORE THE TRUCK EVEN BEGINS TO SLOW. INSTEAD OF SLOWING DOWN GRACEFULLY, THE RPM HANG ACTUALLY ACTS ALMOST LIKE A CRUISE CONTROL. AS I JUST START TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE TO ACTUALLY SLOW THE VEHICLE, THE ECU FINALLY DECIDES TO CHOP THE THROTTLE. BY CHOP I MEAN ABRUPTLY CUT OFF FUEL TO THE MOTOR. AT THIS POINT I AM NOTHING BUT GLARE ICE, GOING DOWN HILL ON AN OFF CAMBER TURN. SO INSTEAD OF A GRADUAL REDUCTION AND SMOOTH SHIFT OF WEIGHT, THE CHOPPED THROTTLE ALLOWS THE TAIL TO NOW SLIDE OUT TO THE RIGHT QUITE A BIT. I DON??T DARE TOUCH THE THROTTLE TO TRY AND FINESSE IT A BIT SINCE IT DOESN'T LISTEN TO WHAT I WANT TO DO. THE NON-LINEAR THROTTLE RESPONSE PUT ME IN A SITUATION THAT I ALMOST DIDN'T RECOVER FROM. IT WAS ALMOST AS THOUGH IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TURN, I JAMMED ON THE REAR PARKING BRAKE TO SLIDE THE REAR AROUND. THIS WAS THE EFFECT BECAUSE I WAS GOING DOWN HILL AND TURNING SO THE REAR WHEELS WERE UN-WEIGHTED AND MORE LIKELY TO SLIDE AT THIS POINT. BY SLOWLY LETTING OFF THE THROTTLE I WAS TRYING TO NOT INDUCE ANY ABRUPT WEIGHT TRANSFER TO THE FRONT. I HAD THE RIGHT IDEA, THE ECU DIDN'T! THIS WAS JUST PLAIN INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS HOW THE ECU IS PROGRAMMED! *JB
TL *- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FJ CRUISER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON THE INSTALLATION OF DUNLOP TIRES. THE CONTACT CURRENTLY HAS NO TIRE DAMAGE, BUT WASCONCERNED THAT A BULGE COULD DEVELOP AT ANY TIME AND CREATE A PROBLEM LATER. THE CONTACT WANTED ALL FIVE TIRES REPLACED AS STATED IN THE RECALL. THE CURRENT MILEAGES WAS 12000.*AK
TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA FJ CRUISER. WHEN THE TEMPERATURE WAS BELOW 20 DEGREES THE CLUTCH HAD A DELAYED RESPONSE. THE CLUTCH DIDN'T COME OUT WHEN RELEASED, JERKING THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE, BUT THEY CALLED TOYOTA, WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS A KNOWN FAILURE THAT THEY WERE CURRENTLY WORKING WITH A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE 450.*AK
ENGINE ACCELERATES TO 1500 RPM WHEN I TAKE MY FOOT COMPLETELY OFF THE THROTTLE WHEN DRIVING AT SLOW SPEEDS (UNDER 1500 RPM). THIS CAUSES THE VEHICLE (MANUAL TRANSMISSION) TO SPEED UP INSTEAD OF SLOWING DOWN, EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE OF THE "ENGINE BRAKING" THAT ONE WOULD EXPECT. I FEEL THIS PRESENTS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD WHEN DRIVING IN TRAFFIC AND / OR ICY ROAD CONDITIONS. *JB
I WAS DRIVING AT A SAFE SPEED AND DISTANCE FROM OTHER CARS, WHEN OUT OF NOWHERE A ROCK CAME AT MY WINDSHIELD AND PUT A LARGE CRACK IN IT. THE WINDSHIELD OF MY TOYOTA 2007 FJ SEEMS TO BE INAPPROPRIATELY WEAK. I HAVE DRIVEN OTHER VEHICLES WITH A VERTICAL WINDSHIELD AND HAVE NOT HAD THIS PROBLEM, ESPECIALLY ONLY HAVING THE VEHICLE LESS THAN A YEAR. IT HAS SINCE HAPPENED AGAIN, BUT THIS INCIDENT I AM DESCRIBING IS THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. *TR
WINDSHIELD CRACKS WAY TO EASY. ASSUME IT'S THE ANGLE IT'S AT. I NEVER EVEN HEARD ANYTHING HIT MY WINDSHIELD AND BELIEVE IT TO BE A STRESS CRACK, BUT THE DEALER DISAGREES. *JB

WINDSHIELD CHIPS WITH SLIGHTEST STONE OR DEBRIS. GLASS SEEMS OF INFERIOR QUALITY. SIDE DOORS GLASS HAS IMPERFECTIONS. *JB
RIPS AND BULGES APPEARED ON THE INSIDE OF THE ENGINE BAY. THEY ARE APPEAREING IN A DESIGNATED "CRUMPLE ZONE" .. WHICH MAKES ME FEAR FOR MY SAFETY.. IT HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED BY HUNDREDS OF OTHER TOYOTA FJ CRUISER OWNERS AS WELL..... THERE WERE NO EVENTS LEADING TO THIS. TOYOTA HAS NOT AKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM IN ANY WAY.
CHIPPING PAINT ALL OVER TOYOTA FJ CRUISER AND WINDSHIELD LOOKS PITTED. TALKED TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD THAT THEIR WASN'T A PROBLEM WITH THE PAINT. *TR
I HAVE AN 07 TOYOTA FJ CRUISER & I CHECKED OUT MY INNER FENDER AND SAW 2 CRACKS AFTER READING AN ONLINE FORUM COMPLAINT BOARD ABOUT THIS ISSUE. MY GOOD FRIEND WHO ALSO HAS AN 07 FJ CRUISER HAS THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM AS WELL. THERE ARE CRACKS ON BOTH SIDES OF MY INNER FENDER. MY PASSENGER SIDE HAS A BULGE AROUND THE CRACK AS WELL. MY WIFE DRIVES OUR SMALL CHILDREN (INFANTS) AROUND AND I AM VERY CONCERNED. I READ MANY PLACES THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW BY TOYOTA. FREQUENTLY BREAKING WINDSHIELD ON THE 2007 TOYOTA FJ CRUISER. *JB
BEGINNING AT ABOUT 2 MONTHS THE PAINT ON MY VEHICLE STARTED COMING OFF. MY FRIEND HAS THE SAME VEHICLE BUT 2 WEEKS OLDER & HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. THE PAINT HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE AND NOW MY CAR IS RUSTING. MY FRIEND ALSO HAS RUST SPOTS ON HIS CAR. *TR

2007 TOYOTA FJ CRUISER WAS DRIVEN ON EDGE OF TERRA COTTA PIPE WHILE PULLING INTO A DRIVE WAY AND GOT STUCK. AFTER BEING PULLED OUT, VEHICLE SAT OVER NIGHT. VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN THE NEXT DAY. WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 10 MILES, VEHICLE ENGINE STARTED MAKING NOISE AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. OWNER OF VEHICLE CALLED A MECHANIC WHO FOUND THAT THE FRAME HAD BEEN TWISTED AND THE RADIATOR WAS BUSTED WHICH CAUSED $15,500 WORTH OF BODY AND ENGINE DAMAGE. INSURANCE AND MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY REFUSED TO COVER ENGINE DAMAGE. VEHICLE IS ADVERTISED AS EXTREMELY DURABLE 4X4 WITH PICTURES ON WEBSITE DEMONSTRATING VEHICLE BEING DRIVEN IN ALL TYPES OF TERRAIN SUCH AS MOUNTAINS AND RIVERS. VEHICLE HAS NO COVER PROTECTING BOTTOM FRONT OF RADIATOR AND CROSSMEMBER IS NOT VERY DURABLE. VEHICLE ALSO DOES NOT HAVE A LOW COOLANT DETECTION SYSTEM IN CASE OF COOLANT LOSS. COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAUGE DOES NOT REGISTER ENGINE OVERHEATING IN CASES OF COOLANT LOSS SO OWNER HAD NO IDEA ENGINE WAS BEING DAMAGED. DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE P0300 ENGINE MISFIRE WAS ONLY CODE STORED IN PCM MEMORY. PCM DID NOT DETECT OVERHEATING CONDITION. PLEASE HELP AS MANUFACTURER WILL NOT HONOR VEHICLE'S WARRANTY WITH ONLY 15,000 MILES ON VEHICLE.
WHILE TRAVELING A FREEWAY SPEED THE VEHICLE ENGINE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING AND DISABLED THE POWER BRAKES AND STEERING. I VERIFIED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD 1/4 TANK OF GASOLINE AND ALL OF THE FUSES CHECKED OUT OK. CALLED TOYOTA ROADSIDE SERVICE AND THEY DISPATCHED A TOW TRUCK AND DROPPED OF VEHICLE AT THE NEAREST DEALER. *NM
I PURCHASE MY BLUE TOYOTA FJ CRUISER IN SEPTEMBER OF 2006. A MONTH AFTER MY PURCHASE I NOTICED THE PAINT CHIPPING IN ODD PLACES THAT I HAVEN'T SEEN ON ANY OF THE OTHER CARS I HAD OWNED. I STARTED TALKING TO OTHER BLUE TOYOTA FJ CRUISER OWNERS AND THEY HAD THE SAME COMPLAINT. I HAVE BEEN TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE PUSHED ME UNDER THE RUG. I HAVE CALLED THE TOYOTA HOTLINE AND THEY HAVEN'T EVEN CONSENTED TO LOOK AT IT. SO HERE I AM. *TR
WINDSHIELD CRACKED REPLACED, NOW 2ND ONE CRACKED. *JB
THE INNER FENDERWELL APRON CRUSH ZONES ARE BUCKLING UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS - IT APPEARS THE FRAME HAS TOO MUCH FLEX AND IS CAUSING THE WEAK SPOT IN THE INNER FENDERWELL TO BREAK. THE BUCKLING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS ALSO SHIFTED THE FENDER BACKWARD CAUSING A PINCH AT THE HOOD CORNER AND THE FRONT EDGE OF THE DOOR. I AM NO LONGER ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR. I AM CONCERNED THAT BECAUSE THIS IS A SAFETY RELATED AREA OF THE BODY THAT THIS ISSUE MIGHT IMPACT THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE VEHICLE IN AN ACCIDENT, OR EVEN UNDER NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS. THE VEHICLE WILL BE TAKEN TO MY LOCAL DEALER THIS WEEK. I AM AWARE OF AT LEAST 150 OTHER SIMILAR VEHICLES WITH VARIOUS STAGES OF THIS IDENTICAL PROBLEM, SOME WHICH HAVE ALSO BEEN INSPECTED BY VARIOUS TOYOTA PERSONNEL. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA FJ CRUISER. A VEHICLE TRAVELING IN ONCOMING TRAFFIC CAUSED A SMALL ROCK TO STRIKE THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE AT 30 MPH. THE ROCK CAUSED A SMALL CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD. THE CRACK HAS CURRENTLY INCREASED TO APPROXIMATELY FOUR FEET LONG AND SPANNED HALFWAY ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 62,000. AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000. *AK
LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE INNER METAL FENDERS ARE TEARING AND BULGING. *TR

I HAVE BULGING AND CRACKING ON MY INNER FENDER APRONS ON MY TRUCK, THEY HAVE BEEN PROGRESSIVELY GETTING WORSE. WHEN THEY STARTED I HAD ZERO MODIFICATIONS AND HAD ONLY DRIVEN ON MILD DIRT ROADS. AND SOME SAND. TOYOTA HAS SINCE DENIED ME REPAIR BECAUSE OF SOME MODIFICATIONS I HAVE INSTALLED. TOYOTA ALSO IS ON THE 3RD FENDER DESIGN SO THEY OBVIOUSLY KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM BUT THEY WANT TO BLAME THE OWNERS FOR IT. *TR
WITHIN 2500 MILES OF OWNING MY NEW FJ CRUISER A SMALL ROCK FLEW UP AND CHIPPED MY DRIVERS WINDSHIELD. WHILE IT IS NOT A VIEWING HAZARD AND HAS NOT EXPANDED YET I THINK TOYOTA SHOULD LOOK INTO USING A BETTER GRADE PRODUCT AS THIS IS NOT A ISOLATED INCIDENT. I LIVE IN FLORIDA AND IT IS COVERED WITH NO DETECTABLE UNDER MY INSURANCE BUT, OTHERS STATES DON'T HAVE THIS POLICY AND OWNERS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET TO REPLACE A INFERIOR PRODUCT. *JB
WHEN DRIVING MY BRAND NEW FJ CRUISER IT STALLED AND LOST ALL POWER. I WAS FORCED TO CALL A TOW TRUCK BECAUSE IT WAS ON A SECLUDED HIGHWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. AFTER GETTING IT TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP THEY STILL HAVE THE VEHICLE AND HAVE DIAGNOSED IT AS THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY AND THEY ARE WAITING FOR PARTS TO BE DELIVERED. THE VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT IN 6/2006 AND HAS LESS THAN 5000 MILES ON IT. I WAS NOT GIVEN A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM IN SAN JOSE, CA. AFTER THREATENING NOT TO PAY FOR THE TOW-THE TOW TRUCK COMPANY WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND DEMANDED PAYMENT-IT WAS ISSUED ON 8/14/06. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS RECALLED (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID #06V235000) FOR BEAD DEFECT ON THE TIRES. AN AUTHORIZED SERVICE DEALER INSPECTED THE TIRES. THE RECALL NOTICE AND THE DEALER'S MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT ONLY THE DEFECTIVE TIRES WOULD BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT EXPRESSED CONCERNED ABOUT THE PROPER WEAR OF THE TIRES IF THEY WERE NOT ALL REPLACED.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA FJ CRUISER. WHEN COMING TO STOP THE CONTACT DROVE OVER A POT HOLE AND WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP AND BEGAN TO LUNGE FORWARD. THE BRAKE PEDAL EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR AND THE CONTACT HAD TO RELEASE HER FOOT SO THAT THE PEDAL WILL RELEASE; OTHERWISE, SHE HAD TO PULL IT UP MANUALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE OCCURRED FIVE ADDITIONAL TIMES AND WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FIVE TIMES AS WELL. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BRAKE PAD AND ROTORS WHICH DID NOT RESOLVE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75000.
THE VEHILE JUST STOPPED RUNNING AT 60 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND STEERING BRAKES FAILED AND COASTED TRYING TO START CAR NO START TRANSMISSION DAMAGED BY EXTENSIVE COAST TO STOP AND STARTER DAMAGEG BY TRYING TO START ON HUGHWAY. THIS WIL CAUSE DEATH OR INJURY--THIS IS A COCEPT VEHICLE PUT OUT TOO EARLY! *JB
I PURCHASED AN FJ CRUISER TOYOTA IN MAY 2006, I DROVE APPROXIMATELY 3000 MILES,AND NOTICED THE TIRES WERE GETTING LOW AND THEN I WOULD ADD AIR AND AGAIN THEY WOULD LOSE AIR. I WENT TO WHEELWORKS AND REPLACED THE TIRES. I THINK THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE IN THE RECALL. *JB
MY STORY IS THIS: AT ABOUT 3000 MILES I WAS DRIVING HOME AND ABOUT HALFWAY THERE (WE LIVE ABOUT 5 MILES OUT OF TOWN), I TOOK A ROCK CHIP. I PROMPTLY TURNED RIGHT AROUND, WENT BACK TO TOWN, WHILE THE GLASS SHOP WAS STILL OPEN, AND HAD THE CHIP REPAIRED. I PARKED IT IN THE GARAGE AND THAT VERY NIGHT IT CRACKED ABOUT 8". IT WAS IN THE FALL AS I REMEMBER, SO IT WAS NOT A PARTICULAR HOT NOR COLD DAY OR NIGHT. IT SEEMED TO ME AT THE TIME (AND STILL DOES) THAT THE WINDSHIELD MAY ACTUALLY BE "STRESSED" SOMEHOW, PUTTING ADDITIONAL PRESSURE ON IT, IN WAYS IT WAS NOT DESIGNED TO BE. AT PRESENT, THE CRACK IS HOLDING STEADY (I FIXED THAT TOO). *JB
MY 2007 TOYOTA FJ CRUISER HAS 3 CHIPS AND 2 CRACKS IN THE FRONT WINDSHIELD IN LESS THAN A YEAR.
WHILE DRIVING ON NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE, A PEBBLE KICKED UP FROM THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND TOOK A CHIP OUT OF MY WINDSHIELD. CAR WAS TWO MONTHS OLD. SIX MONTHS LATER, WHILE ON I-66 IN VA, SAME THING OCCURRED - SAME SIZED CHIP, THIS TIME RIGHT IN MY LINE OF VISION. *TR
I HAVE A F J CRUISER AND THE WINDSHIELD SEEMS TO KEEP GETTING CRACK AND CHIPS FROM EVERY LITTLE PEBBLE ON THE HIGHWAY.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA FJ CRUISER. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, A ROCK FRACTURED THE WINDSHIELD. THERE WERE TEN FRACTURES, BUT NONE WERE SERIOUS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY HAVE HAD NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT WINDSHIELD FAILURES. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 260 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
2007 TOYOTA FJ CRUISER WITH DOOR PANEL FENDER FAILURE. CONSUMER STATES BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVERS SIDE FRONT FENDERS HAVE BULGES AND CRACKS APPROXIMATELY 3-4 INCHES LONG IN THE UPPER PORTION OF THE INNER FENDER. THEY ARE LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 8 INCHES FROM THE FIREWALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND 6 INCHES FROM THE FIREWALL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE.*KB
S10 APPROPRIATE HANDLING LTR RE STICKING GAS PEDAL IN A TOYOTA VEHICLE. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED THE GAS PEDAL WOULD MAINLY STICK WHEN HE PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE. THE VEHICLE WOULD CONTINUE TO ACCELERATE ALTHOUGH THE CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES. *JB UPDATED 04/27/10
