THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE BRAKES FAILED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO DRIVE INTO AN INTERSECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE BUT REPLACED THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER HOWEVER THE FAILURES PERSISTED. AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE GIVEN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

AIR BAG PANEL LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON AND OFF. THE MODEL YEAR IS 2005,BUT THE CAR WAS MADE POSSIBLY IN 2004. THE DEALER REFUSED TO INSPECT WITHOUT CHARGE THEN TELLING ME THAT RECALL IS FOR NOT THIS MODEL YEAR. THE BRAKE, WHEN THE ABS IS ON IN SNOW CONDITIONS, CAR TAKE TOO LONG TO STOP,KEEPS KIDDING. TO THE ADMINISTRATOR OF NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION: I RECEIVED THE UNDATED AIRBAG RECALL ON TOYOTA LETTERHEAD APPROXIMATELY 12-1-14. I TOOK TIME OFF WORK, MADE AN APPOINTMENT ON 12-15-14 WITH MOSSY TOYOTA, 4555 MISSION BAY DR., SAN DIEGO, CA 92019. THEY SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART, ONLY FOR GULF STATES. I RETURNED ON 1-9-15 TO HAVE MY AIRBAG DISABLED AND THE CYA WARNING SIGN INSTALLED. WITHIN A FEW DAYS THE SAME AGENCY CALLED TO LET ME KNOW TOYOTA HAS SUSPENDED REMEDIES. IN FEB. 2015 NATIONAL NEWS REPORTS ANOTHER RECALL FOR A REPLACEMENT PART I HAVE YET NOT RECEIVED. I CALLED TOYOTA CORP. OFFICE TO GET A 2 HOUR RUNAROUND, HAVING ME REPEAT MY OWNERSHIP AND VIN#, WITH THEIR MAIN EMPHASIS ON ME NAMING THE ORIGINAL OWNER, NO REPLACEMENT PARTS IN THE FUTURE, NOT THEIR PROBLEM, LETTER COMES FROM DMV INFO. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM MOSSY NISSAN 2/2006 AND DO NOT HAVE THE ORIGINAL OWNER INFORMATION. I DID LEARN MY AUTO WAS BUILT IN TEXAS SO IT IS CONSIDERED GULF STATE. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR STALLS. MAINLY THE ISSUE APPEARS TO HAPPEN WHEN TURNING. SUDDENLY, AND ONLY OCCASIONALLY, THE CAR DIES WHILE TURNING. ALL LIGHTS ARE LOST AND POWER STEERING GIVES OUT. SINCE THE LIGHTS ON THE CAR AND THE POWER STEERING GIVE OUT, IT IS A SCARY ISSUE. WE HAVE TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL (SINCE WE'RE DRIVING) AND RESTART THE ENGINE. BACK IN 2010 WE BROUGHT OUR CAR IN FOR THE 2010 RECALL WHERE THEY REPLACED THE PART, ALTHOUGH WE NEVER HAD A STALLING ISSUE THEN. OUR CAR IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP BEING LOOKED AT BUT WE WERE TOLD BY TOYOTA CORPORATE THAT THIS ISN'T AN ISSUE RELATED TO THE 2010 STALLING RECALL, SO IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED EVEN IF THE SAME PART THAT WAS REPLACED DURING THE RECALL IS THE ONE THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. ADDITIONALLY, THE DEALERSHIP IS HAVING TROUBLE IDENTIFYING THE CAUSE OF THE ISSUE. *TR
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM TOYOTA STATING THAT I NEED TO HAVE A SAFETY RECALL REMEDY PERFORMED IMMEDIATELY. THE ISSUE IS RELATED TO THE POSSIBILITY OF THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG MALFUNCTIONING. I CALLED THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP CLOSE TO ME TO SCHEDULE THE REPAIR. I CALLED SOON AFTER RECEIVING THE LETTER. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY ARE WAITING ON THE PART TO COME IN AND THEY WILL CALL ME WHEN IT BECOMES AVAILABLE. I HAVE BEEN WAITING AT LEAST 3-WEEKS. THIS IS A PROBLEM CONSIDERING TOYOTA SAID THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED IMMEDIATELY. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 TOYOTA MATRIX. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED WHIPLASH AND THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES FROM HITTING THE WINDSHIELD AND WHIPLASH, BUT NO MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE AIR BAGS WERE INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DEEMED THE VEHICLE FIT TO DRIVE. THE AIR BAG LIGHTS INTERMITTENTLY ILLUMINATED FOR BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE AIR BAGS. PURCHASED BRIDGESTONE TURANZA SERENITY PLUS TIRES THIS WEEK. I NOTICED THAT ONE OF THE TIRES DOESN'T HAVE THE UTQG RATINGS ON THE SIDE. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS A ISSUE FROM A LEGAL STANDPOINT SINCE I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ANY RATINGS FOR THE TIRE ARE. I WAS INFORMED BY BRIDGESTONE THAT THIS IS LEGAL DURING THE FIRST PRODUCTION RUNS. CAR MOVES FORWARD SMOOTHLY BUT DOESN'T MOVE IN REVERSE GEAR.
AIR BAG (SRS) STARTED GOING ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY, THEN CLOCK WENT ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. NOW CLOCK RARELY COMES ON. THE IGNITION MUST BE TURNED ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES TO GET THE AIR BAG LIGHT TO GO OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A TOYOTA CARMAX DEALER IN LAUREL, MD. THE REP SAID THERE WAS PROBABLY SOMETHING UNDER THE SEAT, AND FOUND AN EMPTY WATER BOTTLE. WHEN THE CAR WAS TURNED ON, THE LIGHT WAS GONE, AND HE PRONOUNCED THE CAR FIXED. TWO DAYS LATER IT CAME ON AGAIN AND HAS CONTINUED TO COME ON AND OFF RANDOMLY. THE ITEM UNDER THE SEAT STORY IS BOGUS AND ONLY WORKS BECAUSE THE IGNITION IS TURNED ON AND OFF, NOT BECAUSE ITEMS ARE UNDER THE SEAT. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED BY TOYOTA. I AM NOW READING MANY MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND TOYOTA WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THE ISSUE.
THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT COMES ON MOST OF THE TIME. DASH ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS INCONSISTENT -- CLOCK SOMETIMES WORKS FOR EXAMPLE, BUT USUALLY NOT. BLINKERS SOMETIMES DON'T WORK AS WELL. PRIMARY SAFETY CONCERN IS THE AIRBAG SYSTEM THOUGH. I'VE HAD SEVERAL MECHANICS RUN DIAGNOSTICS. SOMETIMES DIAGNOSTICS COME UP CLEAN AND SOMETIMES NOT. SPENT $300+ WITHOUT RESOLVE AND HAVEN'T HEARD SINCE INITIAL RECALL NOTICE ABOUT A FIX.
IN MY CASE NOTHING HAS HAPPENED YET. THE REASON I AM COMMUNICATING IS BECAUSE ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO TOYOTA SENT ME A NOTICE ABOUT THE AIR BAG OF THE MATRIX WE OWN. WE CALLED THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE LETTER WE RECEIVED FROM TOYOTA AND THEY TOOK OUR NUMBER AND TOLD US THAT THE PART TO FIX THE PROBLEM ABOUT THE AIRBAG HAD NOT ARRIVED YET AND THAT THEY WOULD CALL US WHEN THE PART WOULD COME IN. TO THIS DAY WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED THERE PHONE CALL. WE JUST RECEIVED ANOTHER LETTER FROM TOYOTA ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT NOW. WE ARE WORRIED THAT THE BAG MAY ACTIVATE AT ANY MOMENT. *TR
MY VEHICLE IS A 2005 TOYOTA MATRIX XR. IT HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN A COLLISION OR IMPACT IN ANY WAY. AT APPROX. 37000 MILES, THE SRS WARNING LIGHT ACTIVATE AND WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAULTY SPIRAL CABLE/CLOCKSPRING. THE SPIRAL CABLE WAS REPLACED WHICH DID ELIMINATE THE SRS WARNING LIGHT. I NOW HAVE 60500 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE AND AGAIN THE SRS LIGHT HAS ACTIVATED, AND HAS AGAIN BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A FAULTY SPIRAL CABLE, THE REPAIR COST HAS NOW BEEN ESTIMATED BY MY LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER AS $440.71, AND THEY HAVE CONFIRMED THAT THE SRS SYSTEM WILL NOT FUNCTION UNTIL THE REPAIR IS MADE. I NOW HAVE MY 2 SONS, NEW DRIVERS, THAT USE THIS CAR. I FEAR THAT EVEN IF I GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED, AGAIN, THAT IT WILL AGAIN FAIL AT SOME POINT WHILE IN USE AND PUT THEM AT RISK. I HAVE OWNED MANY VEHICLES THAT HAVE HAD SRS SYSTEMS, BUT THIS IS THE ONLY TIME I'VE EVER HAD A PROBLEM, LET ALONE A REPEAT PROBLEM, WITH A SPECIFIC COMPONENT. AIR BAG SPIRAL CABLE IS DAMAGED. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE, THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM IN TOYOTA MATRIX, BUT NO RECALL HAS BEEN PUT INTO EFFECT. *TR
THE MATRIX BEGAN HAVING VARIOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, INCLUDING ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS TURNING OFF AND ON, AIRBAG WARNINGS, CLOCK AND HEADLIGHTS/BRAKELIGHTS TURNING OFF AND ON. WE HAVE BROUGHT IT IN TO SEVERAL MECHANICS FOR CHECKS AND VARIOUS REPAIRS, TO NO AVAIL. MOST RECENTLY, A DEALER SHOP DIAGNOSED THAT THE ECM IS LIKELY FAILING, AND IN LOOKING AT THE RECORDS FROM ANOTHER DEALER SHOP NOTICED THAT THE ECM WAS ON BACK ORDER IN 2011 TO INSTALL A NEW ONE AFTER A RECALL, BUT THAT A NEW ONE WAS NEVER INSTALLED. HOWEVER, MY SERVICE RECORDS SHOW THAT THE FIRST DEALER SHOP TOLD ME (FRAUDULENTLY?) THAT IT WAS IN FACT INSTALLED. THE CAR MAY NOT BE SAFE TO DRIVE, BUT I HAVE NOT BEEN SUCCESSFUL TO THIS POINT IN GETTING IT REPAIRED. THE SECOND SHOP INFORMED ME THAT THE FIRST DEALER SHOP IS RESPONSIBLE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ONE MORNING AND I HEARD A LOUD GRINDING AND WHINING SOUND COMING FROM WHAT SOUNDED LIKE THE ENGINE. I CAME TO A RED LIGHT AND GOT OUT TO SEE IF I COULD SEE ANYTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY BUT SAW NOTHING. I THEN GOT BACK IN AND PUT IT IN GEAR TO GO AND NOTHING I WOULD LET OUT THE CLUTCH AND IT WOULDN'T MOVE. I TRIED TO PUT IT IN REVERSE TO MOVE IT OUT OF THE STREET AND WHEN I WOULD LET OFF THE CLUTCH IT WOULD POP OUT OF GEAR IT WOULDN'T STAY IN REVERSE. I HAD TO GET IT TOWED AND FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS MY TRANSMISSION. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. EVIDENTLY TOYOTA MADE A BAD DESIGN WITH THE 5 SPEED TRANSMISSION AND ONE OF THE BEARINGS DOSE NOT GET LUBRICATED AND BURNS OUT FALLING APART AND RUINING THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION. TOYOTA CLAIMS THAT THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS AND WILL NOT FIX THIS. *TR
I ALREADY TURNED IN AN INCIDENT BUT DID NOT GET AN E-MAIL OR ANY REPLY BACK SO AM DOING IT AGAIN TO MAKE SURE. MY AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN GOING ON INTERMITTENTLY FOR 1.5 YEARS. I WAS TOLD BY TOYOTA THAT IT WOULD COST $180 TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND WAS NEVER TOLD THAT WHEN MY AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ON THAT MY AIR BAG WOULD NOT GO OFF. I RECENTLY FOUND THIS OUT SO HAD IT CHECKED OUT. TURNS OUT IT IS A FAULTY CLOCK. TOYOTA HAS THE CLOCK AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THEIR AIR BAGS. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THEY PUT MY FAMILY AT RISK BECAUSE OF A CLOCK. IT COST ME $560 TO FIX AS WELL. THERE WAS NEVER ANY ASSISTANCE ON TOYOTA'S PART TO ASSIST ME, LOWER THE COST. MY CLOCK BY THE WAY WORKS PERFECTLY FINE AND IT TOOK THEM 1.5 HOURS TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. *TR

I DO NOT KNOW THE EXACT DATE OR MILEAGE BECAUSE I JUST DISCOVERED THIS SITE BUT MY DEALER WOULD KNOW. MY AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT RANDOMLY COMES ON AND STAYS ON FOR SEVERAL DAYS TO A WEEK. I HAD DEALER LOOK AT IT AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM....JUST A FAULTY LIGHT OR SOMETHING AND NOTHING NEEDED TO BE FIXED. ALSO, CLOCK NOW WORKS OFF AND ON. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE AFTER READING INFORMATION AT OTHER SITES, THE INFORMATION SAYS THAT THE AIRBAGS WILL NOT WORK IF THE SENSOR LIGHT IS ON. I HAVE ALSO READ THAT THE AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT AND THE CLOCK ARE CONNECTED. I DO NOT WANT TO SPEND OVER $400 TO REPLACE A CLOCK BUT IT'S A WHOLE OTHER STORY IF MY AIRBAGS WILL NOT WORK WITHOUT A FUNCTIONING CLOCK THAT DOESN'T MESS UP THE AIRBAG SENSOR. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO TO ASK SINCE THE DEALER DOESN'T SEEMS TO REALIZE THIS EITHER.
ON JULY 17, 2013, MY CAR HAS MADE SEVERAL INCIDENTS OF ENGINE SHUTTING OFF EITHER AT INTERSECTONS, OR WHILE IN MOTION. GOOD THING IT DOES START BACK UP BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL AUTO SHOP AND IT WAS DIAGNOSE AS CODE TO REPLACE THE THERMOSTAT AND GASKET COOLANT SENSOR. TWO WEEKS LATER, ENGINE SHUT-OFF AGAIN WHILE DRIVING SEVERAL TIMES. RETURN IT BACK TO THE LOCAL AUTO SHOP AND HAD THEM LOOK AT IT AGAIN. THEY FOUND NO OTHER PROBLEMS. HOWEVER, THEY INFORMED ME TO TAKE IT TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP, AS THE ECM MAY BE AT FAULT. ON JULY 31, 2013, TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AND AFTER SEVERAL HOURS, THEY INFORMED ME IT WAS A FAULTY BATTERY.! MY BATTERY IS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD AND I KNOW ITS NOT THE BATTERY, AFTER TELLING THEM TO CHECK THE ECM. THEY WOULDN'T PROCEED UNTIL I BUY A BATTERY FROM THEM! ON 8/30/13, TOOK MY CAR TO ANOTHER AUTO SHOP FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND EXPLAINED "THE ENGINE TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING" ISSUE AGAIN. THEY DIAGNOSE AS CARBON BUILDUP AND DID A THROTTLE BODY CLEANING. NOW ITS 9/6/13, AND PROBLEM OF ENGINE STALLING STILL PERSISTS!. ONE DAY, THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF THREE TIMES WHILE DRIVING. SUBSEQUENTLY, TOYOTA HAS ANOTHER SECOND RECALL ON LEXUS AND RAV4 MODELS THIS WEEK. THE ECM WAS RECALLED AND REPLACED ON MY CAR ON 8/31/11. CAN THE ECM BE FAULTY AGAIN! OR OTHER PARTS CAUSING THE PROBLEM BE UNDIAGNOSED IN LIGHT OF TOYOTA MANUFACTURE RECALLS.SYMPTOMS: ODOMETER LIGHT FLICKERS AND ENGINE EVENTUALLY SHUTS OFF.

TWO MONTHS AGO, I READ A NEWSPAPER ARTICLE ABOUT TAKATA AIRBAGS, SEARCHED MY VIN IN THE FEDERAL WEB SITE, AND DISCOVERED THAT MY 2005 TOYOTA MATRIX HAD BEEN RECALLED BECAUSE OF POTENTIALLY-LETHAL TAKATA AIRBAGS. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED BOTH THE TOYOTA DEALER THAT SERVICES MY CAR, AND TOYOTA CORPORATE. THEY ASSURED ME THAT I WOULD BE RECEIVING WRITTEN INFORMATION ABOUT THE RECALL, WHICH WOULD BE MAILED OUT THAT WEEK, BUT HAD NOTHING ELSE TO OFFER IN TERMS OF ADDRESSING THE SAFETY OF MY CAR. TWO MONTHS LATER, I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM TOYOTA. WHEN I HAVE SPOKEN WITH THE DEALER OR TOYOTA CORPORATE, THEY TELL ME THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG IT MIGHT BE BEFORE THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE OR THE TECHNICIANS TRAINED TO REPLACE THE FAULTY AIRBAG. TOYOTA ALSO REFUSES TO PROVIDE ANY REMEDIATION IN THE MEANTIME -- NO LOANER CAR, NO DISABLED AIRBAG, NOTHING. THE ONLY REASON I KNOW THAT MY CAR -- WHICH I SHARE WITH MY SON -- IS POTENTIALLY LETHAL IS BECAUSE I HAPPEN TO HAVE CHECKED MY VIN AFTER READING AN ARTICLE IN THE NEWSPAPER. IT IS ALSO UNCLEAR TO ME WHETHER THE DRIVER OF A CAR WITH THE FAULTY AIRBAG COULD BE INJURED OR KILLED IF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYS. TOYOTA'S INCOMPETENCE AND IRRESPONSIBILITY IN NOT NOTIFYING TOYOTA OWNERS, NOT ARRANGING FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS, NOT OFFERING ANY INTERIM REMEDIATION, AND NOT TRAINING TECHNICIANS TO MAKE NECESSARY REPAIRS IS LUDICROUS, AND, TO THE BEST OF MY UNDERSTANDING, VIOLATES FEDERAL LAW. OF COURSE I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER TOYOTA, BUT THIS TYPE OF POTENTIALLY LETHAL NEGLIGENCE IS NOT SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY MARKET FORCES. IT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY FEDERAL REGULATORS.
TOYOTA MATRIX RX 2005. STARTED CAR, DRIVER AIR BAG LIGHT FAILED TO EXTINGUISH. SHUT OFF IGNITION. RESTARTED ENGINE, LIGHT WENT OUT. SINCE 6/3/2013 THE DRIVER AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN INTERMITTENT, STAYING ON ABOUT HALF THE TIME I START THE CAR. OFTEN IT TAKES 3 TO 4 RESTARTS TO FINALLY GET THE LIGHT TO STAY OFF. OCCASIONALLY THE DRIVER AIR BAG LIGHT WILL COME ON WHILE DRIVING. I PULL OVER WHEN I CAN AND GO THROUGH THE RESTART PROCEDURE. OTHERWISE WHILE LIGHT IS ON THE DRIVER AIR BAG IS DISABLED. THAT COULD CERTAINLY BE A DEADLY PROPOSITION. SEVERAL TIMES I HAVE VISITED TOYOTA SERVICE DEPARTMENTS TO BE TOLD, "SOMETHING IS LOOSE", OR "CAN'T FIND A PROBLEM." TODAY, 6/17/2015, I DROVE TO MY LOCAL TOYOTA SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE PASSENGER AIR BAG RECALL SERVICE. WHEN I STARTED THE CAR THE DRIVER AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. I DROVE TO THE TOYOTA SERVICE DEPT, ABOUT 10 MILES, LEFT ENGINE RUNNING UNTIL THE SERVICE WRITER COULD VERIFY THAT THE LIGHT WAS ON. I ASKED THAT THEY CHECK THE DRIVER AIR BAG SYSTEM BECAUSE THE LIGHT CAME ON INTERMITTENTLY. APPROXIMATELY 15 MIN LATER THE ASST SERVICE MGR CALLED ME STATED THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVER AIR BAG. I TOLD HIM THE WRITER VERIFIED THE LIGHT WAS ON AND REQUESTED THEY DO A DIAGNOSTIC ON THE DRIVER AIR BAG SYSTEM. $98.55 LATER THE PROBLEM WAS STATED TO BE IN THE DIGITAL CLOCK IN THE DASH. TOYOTA QUOTED $506.59 TO REPLACE THE DIGITAL CLOCK IN MY CAR TO MAKE THE DRIVER AIR BAG FUNCTION, SO I WOULDN'T DIE IN A CRASH!!! THIS JUST DOESN'T SOUND RIGHT THAT A LIFE SAVING SYSTEM SHOULD DEPEND ON A "CHEAP" DIGITAL CLOCK TO FUNCTION CORRECTLY AT ANY MOMENT WITHOUT PERIPHERAL EQUIPMENT GETTING IN THE WAY. THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL ITEM.
