OWNER OF 2005 TOYOTA SIENNA LE MINIVAN PURCHASED IN DECEMBER 2004. 1. NOTICED THAT THIS PROBLEM STARTED TO OCCUR OVER THE LAST TWO MONTHS AND THE OCCURRENCE HAS INCREASED IN FREQUENCY. 2. DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM: WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, THE THROTTLE WILL OCCASIONALLY FAIL TO RESPOND TO THE INITIAL PRESSURE BEING APPLIED TO THE PEDAL. CONTINUING TO DEPRESS, OR APPLYING ADDITIONAL PRESSURE TO, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE THE THROTTLE ON THE ENGINE TO ENGAGE AND THIS RESULTS IN AN UNANTICIPATED SURGE IN ENGINE OUTPUT AND ACCELERATION. MY CONCERN IS THAT THIS UNANTICIPATED ENGINE SURGE AND ACCELERATION COULD LEAD TO AND/OR CAUSE A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT. 3. BROUGHT THIS PROBLEM/ISSUE TO THE ATTENTION OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT LOMBARD TOYOTA (LOMBARD, ILLINOIS). SPOKE WITH TWO DIFFERENT SERVICE WRITERS AT LOMBARD TOYOTA AND THEY BOTH MENTIONED THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE BY BOTH TOYOTA AND THE DEALERSHIP. LOMBARD TOYOTA MENTIONED THAT THEY ARE CURRENTLY UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM/ISSUE AT THIS TIME.
I HAVE NOTICED RATTLES IN MY SLIDING DOORS DURING WARMER WEATHER. MADE NUMEROUS VISITS TO THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX THE PROBLEM DURING SUMMER 2005 (IN MY ESTIMATES 8 VISITS, BUT SOME WERE NOT RECORDED BY THE DEALERSHIP). AT LAST A FIELD MANAGER FROM OUR REGION DRIVES WITH ME. 5 MINUTES LATER, HE SUGGESTS THAT I USE DOOR-EASE (HE WAS AWARE OF THIS KIND OF NOISE -CREEK- WHEN ACCELERATE AND DECELERATE - IN OTHER SIENNAS.) INCREDIBLY, THIS SEEMS TO ERADICATE THE NOISE. MARCH 2006 I START NOTICING THE CREAKING NOISE AGAIN. IT TAKES ME ANOTHER THREE DAYS TO FIGURE OUT THAT THE SERVICE ADVISOR HAS A PROBLEM COMMUNICATING WITH HIS TECHNICIANS, FINALLY, A TECHNICIAN MENTION TO ME THAT THERE MIGHT BE A TSB EXACTLY FOR MY CAR AND FOR THE SLIDING DOOR RATTLE. BUT THE SERVICE ADVISOR DISMISSES THIS INFORMATION INITIALLY, SAYING THAT SUCH A TSB ONLY EXISTS FOR 2002 MODELS. I GO HOME AND TO MY SURPRISE, I SEE THE TSB DATED JANUARY 26, 2006, WHICH ADDRESSES EXACTLY THIS PROBLEM. BRING THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP (SET UP AN APPOINTMENT IN ADVANCE) AND ASK TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY FOLLOW THE TSB RECOMMENDATIONS. THEY REASSURE ME THAT IT WILL HAPPEN. GET THE CAR IN THE AFTERNOON AND LEARN THAT THEY REPLACED THE STRIKER PLATES ON BOTH SIDES (PROCEDURE 1 ON THE TSB). WHEN I CONFRONT THE SERVICE MANAGER (BY THAT TIME NO SERVICE ADVISOR WANTS TO DEAL WITH ME) ABOUT THE DEALERSHIPS LACK OF KNOWLEDGE OF THE SPECIFIC TSB, HE TELLS ME THAT THE TSB DOES NOT APPLY TO MY VIN, HENCE THEY DID NOT HAVE TO REPLACE ANY PARTS, BUT THAT THEY DID BECAUSE THEY WERE NICE TO ME. AT THAT TIME THE MANAGER ALSO ACKNOWLEDGES THAT MY ADVISOR HAS MADE BLUNDERS DURING MY PREVIOUS VISITS. AS IF THIS WAS NOT ENOUGH, I THEN PURSUE CLARIFICATION FROM TOYOTA VIA PHONE WHETHER THE VIN ON MY CAR DOES OR DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE AFFECTED BY THE TSB. AND THEY CONFIRM THAT IT IS INCLUDED IN THIS TSB, BUT NOT UNDER PROCEDURE 1, BUT UNDER PROCEDURE 2. HENCE, THEY DID NOT REPLACE THE LOCK ASSEMBLY (AS THE TSB RECOMMENDS). *NM
DRIVER SIDE MIRROR SHAKES VIGOROUSLY DURING HIGH SPEED TRAVELING (65 MPH) MAKING UNSAFE FOR CHANGING LANES OR ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT, IT WILL DISTURBS THE DRIVER WITH BOUNCING LIGHTS. *NM
DT CONTACT STATES HE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *NM
WE PURCHASED OUR 2005 SIENNA XLS ON APRIL. SINCE THEN WE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE SECOND ROW SEAT BELTS"CATCHING" IN THE SLIDE FOR THE SEAT BELT CONNECTOR. THEY FABRIC SEEMS TO BE TOO LIGHTWEIGHT OR SOMETHING BECAUSE IT FOLDS OVER ON ITSELF AND THEN GETS STUCK IN THE SLIDE. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES DURING BOTH THE BUCKLING AND UNBUCKLING PROCESSES.
I HAVE PRECISELY THE SAME COMPLAINT AS YOU HAVE BEEN INVESTIGATING AND THAT TOYOTA HAS ALREADY (APPARENTLY) SUCCESSFULLY ESCAPED CRITICISM FOR IN PE05008. IN APRIL 2005, I ALERTED MY DEALER TO THE FACT THAT THE LAP BELT HARNESS CLIP IN THE RH 2ND-ROW SEAT OF MY 2005 7-PASSENGER SIENNA ALWAYS CAUGHT OR JAMMED THE BELT AT THE SEPARATION POINT OF THE HOLDER WHENEVER A PASSENGER WAS SEATED THERE. WHEN AN ADULT NOTICED IT AND TRIED TO RETRACT THE BELT MANUALLY, IT WOULD SOMETIMES RETRACT BUT ON OTHER OCCASIONS PULL THE CLIP APART. I EXPLAINED THAT I AM MOST CONCERNED WHEN EITHER A YOUNG PERSON RIDES THERE WITHOUT BEING AWARE OF THE PROBLEM OR ITS SIGNIFICANCE OR WHEN EVEN AN ADULT RIDES THERE AND HAS NOT BECOME AWARE (IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT AT PRECISELY THAT POINT). THE SERVICE MANAGER INDICATED HE HAD NEVER HEARD OF THAT PROBLEM NOR HAD A SIMILAR COMPLAINT (SOMETHING I NOW FIND VERY HARD TO BELIEVE). A PROMISE WAS MADE THE THE TOYOTA FIELD REP WOULD CALL IN A FEW DAYS. RATHER, IN A FEW WEEKS, ONLY AFTER I COMPLAINED TO TOYOTA, I HEARD FROM AMY SCHWARTZ WHO INDICATED SHE RECORDED MY COMPLAINT BUT THAT TOYOTA WOULD NOT BE TAKING ANY FURTHER ACTION WITH REGARD TO THE COMPLAINT. NOT ONCE DID SHE INDICATE THERE HAD BEEN A CASE OPENED ALREADY. PLEASE PURSUE THIS AND GET TOYOTA'S ATTENTION BEFORE THERE IS A SERIOUS INJURY OR FATALITY. IT IS VERY OBVIOUS TO ME THAT A SIMPLE FIX, AS I HAVE APPLIED TO MY OWN CLIP, WOULD SUFFICE FROM STRICTLY A SAFETY STANDPOINT, BUT IT WOULD SEEM THAT TOYOTA S\HOULD COME UP WITH A MORE ELAGANT AND PERMANENT SOLUTION. I SIMPLY GLUED THE CLIP CLOSED AND PUT A 2-INCH WIDE AND 5 INCH LONG STRIP OF SMOOTH PACKAGING TAPE OVER THE FRON OF THE CLIP (COVERING THE DIVISION OR SPLIT POINT), THEREBY REMOVING ANY POINT WHERE THE BELT COULD CATCH.
TOYOTA SIENNA DEVELOPED PROBLEMS WITH THE RUNFLAT TIRE EQUIPMENT.*MR A FEW DAYS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, THE CONSUMER DISCOVERED THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE A SPARE TIRE. THE OWNERS MANUAL LEAD THE CONSUMER TO BELIEVE THAT THE RUN FLAT TIRES COULD BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED AT ANY TIRE DEALER IN THE US. THE CONSUMER WENT TO A TIRE SHOP TO HAVE THE TIRES ROTATED, HOWEVER HE WAS TOLD IF THE TIRE BECAME FLAT IT WOULD COST $250.00 FOR A NEW TIRE AND THE TIRE(S) COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE CONSUMER WENT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE SAME INFORMATION, IN ADDITION IF ONE OF THE TIRES HAD OVER 15,000 MILES ALL 4 TIRES WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED TOYOTA AND WAS TOLD THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED FOR RUN FLAT TIRES AND THERE WAS NO PLACE FOR A SPARE TIRE. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED THAT THE RUNFLAT TIRES BE REPLACED WITH REGULAR TIRES. *JB
CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT WHEN IT WAS REAR ENDED, CAUSING IT TO REAR END THE VEHICLE IN FRONT. UPON IMPACT, NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED.*AK
WHEN BRAKING HARD AT HIGHWAY SPEED BRAKES APPLY TO MUCH BACK PRESSURE, CAUSING THE VEHICLE BRAKES TO SEEM DEFECTIVE. I ALMOST CRASHED. *AK
WHILE PULLING INTO THE GARAGE VEHICLE SUDDENLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY ACCELERATED AND LURCHED FORWARD THROUGH THE GARAGE WALL INTO THE DINING ROOM OF CONSUMER'S HOME. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER.*AK
TOYOTA 2005 SIENNA MINI VAN XLE FWD - ACCELERATING FROM LOW SPEED ROLL (AROUND 5 TO 10 MPH) THE CAR ESSENTIALLY EXPERIENCES A STALLING CONDITION WHERE IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE FOR A FEW SECONDS. MORE GAS PEDAL DEPRESSION RESULTS IN A SUDDEN OCCASIONALLY ALMOST UNCONTROLLABLE ACCELERATION. *NM
DT: BOTH SLIDING DOORS WILL NOT LOCK INTO PLACE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT THEY STATED THIS WAS A SAFETY DESIGN . WHEN THE CONSUMER OPENED THE DOOR IT WILL NOT LOCK INTO PLACE. THE SERVICE DEALER STATED WHEN THE WINDOWS WERE OPENED ON THE DOOR IT WILL NOT LOCK INTO PLACE. THE CONSUMER DID TRY TO LEAVE THE WINDOWS UP, BUT THE DOOR STILL WILL NOT LOCK WHEN OPENED. THE OWNER'S MANUAL STATED THE WHEN THE SLIDING DOOR WINDOW WAS OPENED THE SLIDING DOOR WILL STOP HALF WAY AND LOCK INTO PLACE. THE CONSUMER HAS NOT CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER. *AK
CONSUMER REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT FOR 2005 TOYOTA SIENNA FOR LOW TIRE PRESSURE AND REAR DOOR SHOCK FAILURE. *KB THE REAR WIPER DIDN'T WORK, THE BLOWER MOTOR AND DAMPER HAD TO BE REPLACED, THE REAR HEAT DID NOT WORK. THE LOW PRESSURE LIGHT DID NOT WARN THE CONSUMER THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE HAD DROPPED. *JB
I LILVE IN COLORADO AND THE DOORS WILL NOT OPEN WHEN WEATHER DROPS BELOW FREEZING. MY KIDS COULD NOT OPEN DOOR FROM INSIDE EITHER. I RECENTLY BROKE THE HANDLE WHILE TRYING TO JERK THE DOOR OPEN. IT ONLY HAPPENS IN WINTER, BUT HAVE NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE WITH ANY OTHER VEHICLE.
EVER SINCE THIS VEHICLE WAS BRAND NEW IT HAS CONTINUED TO EXHIBIT OCCASIONAL PROBLEM WITH BRAKE PEDAL BECOMING HARD, WITH LITTLE OR NO PLAY, NECESSITATING THE NEED TO PUSH VERY HARD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO AFFECT STOPPING. NORMALLY THE BRAKES ARE VERY GOOD. THERE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE ANY PARTICULAR CAUSE FOR THIS I.E. PADS BEING WET, ROAD SALT, ETC. IT ONLY OCCURS OCCASIONALLY AND SEEMS TO GO AWAY AFTER DRIVING FOR 20-30 MILES. WHEN IT DOES OCCUR THOUGH IT IS DIFFICULT TO STOP.
TWO COMPLAINTS 1. ONE THE REAR DOORS DO NOT LATCH IN THE OPEN POSITION WHEN THE WINDOWS ARE OPEN RESULTING IN INJURY TO CHILDREN'S HANDS. 2. AUTO SHUT-OFF FOR INTERIOR LIGHTS DOES NOT WORK RESULTING IN DEAD BATTERY. *JB
HESITATION WHEN ACCELERATING. PARTICULARLY WHEN ALREADY ROLLING AT LESS THAN 5 MILES AN HOUR.
WE HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2005 TOYOTA SIENNA, LOVE THE VEHICLE, BUT DISCOVERED A POTENTIAL SAFETY PROBLEM. THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER CAN BE ACCIDENTALLY EASILY KNOCKED FROM 4TH GEAR( NOT IN OVERDRIVE) STRAIGHT INTO REVERSE. MY DEALERS SERVICE DEPT. CHECKED THIS OUT AND CONCLUDED SURPRISINGLY THAT IT CAN BE DONE BUT SAID THAT ALL TOYOTA MODELS WITH SIMILAR SHIFTS THAT THEY CHECKED WERE THE SAME WAY. *JB
VEHICLE WAS TURNING INTO AN INTERSECTION GOING LEFT. AN ON COMING VEHICLE GOING ABOUT 45 MPH AND HIT VEHICLE "A" ON THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT QUARTER PANEL. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY THE LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT. PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *NM
VEHICLE WAS GOING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH AND INADVERTENTLY THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. OWNER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT TO THE NEAREST TOYOTA DEALERSHIP. HOWEVER, THE OWNER HAD NOT TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR INSPECTION. OWNER IS STILL WAITING FOR A RETURN PHONE CALL FROM THE DEALERSHIP. *AK
VAN WAS "T-BONED" ON PASSENGER SIDE BY LARGE PICKUP TRUCK PROBABLY GOING 45 MPH OR SO. TRUCK HIT FRONT SIDE PANEL AND PASSENGER DOOR. ESTIMATED DAMAGE AT THIS POINT OVER $14,000. PASSENGER HAD TO BE EXTRICATED BY JAWS OF LIFE AND SUFFERED FRACTURED PELVIS AND FACE LACERATIONS. NEITHER THE SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG NOR SIDE SEAT AIR BAG WENT OFF. I CONTACTED TOYOTA YESTERDAY AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD CONTACT TO ME WITHIN 3 BUSINESS. I THINK THERE IS A PROBLEM WHETHER THEY SAY (A) IT SHOULD HAVE GONE OFF AND DIDN'T OR (B) THAT IT SHOULD NOT HAVE GONE OFF WITH THIS TYPE OF CRASH. VAN HAS NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED. ONE ISSUE IS WHETHER I SHOULD WAIT TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. DIGITAL PICTURES OF VAN ARE AVAILABLE. *NM
AUTOMATIC PASSENGER DOOR DOES NOT SENSE ANY PERSON, CHILD OR OBJECT AND WILL TRY TO SHUT UNTIL ENOUGH FORCE IS EXERTED BACK. CLOSED COMPLETELY ON MY CHILD'S HAND. AUTOMATIC DOOR FEATURE IS NOT RECOMMENDED DUE TO LACK OF SAFETY FEATURE TO PREVENT CLOSING ON CHILDREN, PETS ETC. WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED THIS CAR FOR THAT REASON ALONE. PLEASE READ OTHER COMPLAINTS FOR THE '04 TOYOTA SIENNA PASSENGER DOORS MANUAL AND AUTOMATIC. *JB
COOLANT DRIPPING UNDER THE MUFFLER WHEN THE BRAND NEW VAN WAS DRIVEN 955 MILES AND THE DEALER STILL FIXING IT. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THE VAN IS IN THE DEALER FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND TOTOALLY THEY HAS SPENT 15 DAYS. THEY SAID IT WAS BECASUE SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE REAR HEATER CORE.*AK
THE ENGINE SPEEDS UP BRIEFLY ON ITS OWN CAUSING VEHICLE TO BRIEFLY SPEED UP. IT USUALLY LASTS ONLY A FEW SECONDS. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 TOYOTA SIENNA VAN THAT HAS INTERMITTENT BRAKE FAILURE. IT NORMALLY OCCURS WHEN THE CAR IS COLD. I HAVE RUN SEVERAL RED LIGHTS WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL PRESSED COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR AND MY WIFE HAS DRIVEN THROUGH TWO YARDS. THE BRAKES FUNCTION NORMALLY ON THE FIRST SEVERAL APPLICATIONS BUT ON THE THIRD OR FOURTH APPLICATION THEY WILL OCCASIONALLY FAIL. MY DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND DONE "DIAGNOSTICS" AT LEAST 8 DIFFERENT TIMES BUT CONSISTENTLY FIND NOTHING. THEY DID TELL ME THAT OTHER VEHICLES WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME SORTS OF PROBLEM AND IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH A NEW VALVE TIMING ON THE 2005 MODEL AND THE VACUUM WAS INSUFFICIENT UNTIL THE CAR WAS WARM AND THAT I SHOULD IDLE FOR 5 MINUTES BEFORE DRIVING. THIS SEEMS TO WORK MORE CONSISTENTLY BUT I STILL HAVE EPISODES OF POOR BRAKING. WE HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO HAVE THIS RESOLVED FOR ALMOST 18 MONTHS. *JB
I HAVE RUN FLAT TIRES ON MY 2005 SIENNA (PURCHASED OCTOBER 2004). I ALSO BOUGHT A SET OF WINTER TIRES & RIMS) IN DECEMBER 2004 AND SINCE THEN I AM ALTERNATING THEM 6 MONTHS OF THE YEAR. HAVE CURRENTLY 21,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE. THE DUNLOP TIRES ARE ALMOST WORN OUT, ALTHOUGH I PROBABLY PUT ON THEM MO MORE THAN 12-13,000 MILES. PART OF THE REASON I BELIEVE IS THAT WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR(EVEN WHEN I TEST DROVE IT) I NOTICED A ROUGH RIDE AND A PULL TO THE LEFT, BUT COULD NOT WAIT FOR THE DEALER TO ORDER ANOTHER CAR, SO I TOOK IT HOME (I BOUGHT IT FROM A DEALER OUT OF TOWN). ALSO I WAS BLAMING THE TIRE THREAD GEOMETRY FOR THE ROUGH RIDE, AND THE DEALERSHIP OFFERED ME TO CHANGE THE TIRES FOR THE CHEAPER ONES BRIDGESTONE, BUT I HAD TO PAY LIKE $80 FOR THE OPERATION, SO I DECIDED NOT TO. THE ROUGH DRIVE CONTINUED UNTIL I DECIDED TO TAKE IT TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHO FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS MISALIGNED. THE DID A FREE ALIGNMENT BUT THE CAR WOULD STILL PULL TO THE LEFT. THIS, I WAS TOLD, WAS NORMAL, SINCE THE TIRES HAD BEEN WORN UNEVENLY, SO NOW THEY HAD TO GET THE NORMAL WEAR AGAIN. NOW THE CAR NO LONGER PULLS, BUT THIS COMES A THE COST OF HAVING EXCESSIVELY WORN TIRES. I SEE THAT THIS IS NOT AN UNIQUE CASE. *NM
2005 TOYOTA SIENNA BENT REAR SHOCK DUE TO PART FAILURE. CUSTOMER STATES THAT TOYOTA IS GOING TO MAKE HIM PAY FOR THE REPAIR TO THE VAN BECAUSE IT WAS NOT IN RECALL AND NOT UNDER WARRANTY. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED THE REAR HATCH WAS BEING SHUT WHEN THE SHOCK BENT. THE REAR HATCH WAS USED MINIMALLY. *JB
CONSUMER DID RESEARCH ON INVESTIGATIONS FOR A 2005 TOYOTA SIENNA. CONSUMER WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT TOYOTA HAS TO SAY ABOUT THE INVESTIGATION BUT THEY HAVE NOT SENT ANYTHING IN YET. *KB
2005 TOYOTA SIENNA MINI VAN. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEM WITH SLIDING DOORS. *TGW THE DOOR WOULD FREEZE SHUT EVERY TIME IT SNOWED, RAINED OR THE TEMPERATURE WAS BELOW FREEZING. IN ADDITION, THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER IT WOULD COST $800.00 TO FIX AS THEY WOULD HAVE TO BREAK THE DOOR PANEL TO GET THE DOOR OPEN. THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR IS BEGINNING TO EXHIBIT THE SAME PROBLEM. *JB
LETTER FROM CONGRESSMAN LOEBSACK'S OFFICE ON BEHALF OF CONSTITUENT RE SUDDEN ACCELERATION OF TOYOTA SIENNA *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WHILE TRAVELING WITH HER HUSBAND AND TWO CHILDREN. THE BRAKES DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE, NOR DID SHIFTING THE GEAR INTO NEUTRAL, PARK OR REVERSE. THE RPM NEEDLE WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT AND THERE WAS A LOUD ROAR COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE CONSUMER PULLED THE KEY FROM IGNITION AT ABOUT 75 MPH IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. THE CONSUMER STATED THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION OCCURRED TWICE BEFORE. TOYOTA CLAIMED THE FLOOR MATS WERE THE CAUSE, HOWEVER THE CONSUMER'S HUSBAND CHECKED THE FLOOR MATS AND THEY WERE NOT THE PROBLEM. *JB UPDATED 06/15/10.*JB
