I HAVE A 2006 TOYOTA SIENNA XLE LIMITED AWD. THE ALLOY IS FLAKING OFF MY WHEEL RIMS. THIS STARTED ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER MY PURCHASE IN 2006. NOW ALL 4 RIMS HAVE A LARGE AMOUNT OF ALLOY MISSING. EVENTUALLY THIS WILL LEAD TO RUSTING AND RIM FAILURE. I'VE BEEN CHECKING FOR A RECALL/REPLACEMENT NOTICE BUT ALL I SEE ARE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AND NO REPLACEMENT OFFER. I'VE CONSULTED WITH DEALERS AND THEY SAY I WILL HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE THEM REPLACED. *TR

TOYOTA SAYS "ALL SIENNAS ARE LIKE THIS" SO THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH AND REMOVING HER FOOT OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IT BECAME STUCK AS IT WAS RELEASED. SHE HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKES SO THAT THE VEHICLE COULD SLOW DOWN. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THEY WERE UNAWARE OF ANY RELATED FAILURES. THERE WERE NO REPAIRS MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,484. UPDATED 03/10/10. *LJ UPDATED 06/04/10
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA SIENNA. WHILE STANDING AT THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FRAME LEANED TO THE LEFT. SHE STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT LEVEL AND POSED A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE TO BE LEVEL AND POINTED OUT THE SHOCKS. THE PURCHASE DATE AND POWERTRAIN WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,200 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70.
PROBLEM IS WITH THE SECOND ROW SEAT BELTS IN MY 2006 TOYOTA SIENNA XLE VAN. ANYTIME SOMEONE (MYSELF INCLUDED) RIDES IN THE SECOND ROW, THE SEAT BELTS LOCK UP AND BECOME SO UNCOMFORTABLE AS THEY CONTINUE TO TIGHTEN THAT WE JUST END UP NOT USING THEM SOON AFTER THE TRIP BEGINS. NOT USING THEM BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT POSES A REAL SAFETY HAZARD IF WE WERE TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. EARLIER ON I COMPLAINED SEVERAL TIMES. I WAS ALWAYS TOLD THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM. WE PROBABLY WEREN'T USING THEM CORRECTLY AND I WAS EVEN GIVEN INSTRUCTION BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ON HOW TO HOOK UP THE SEAT BELT. MY COMPLAINTS FELL ON DEAF EARS AND I REALLY DO THINK IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD. I TOLD THEM THEY MIGHT HAVE TO RIDE IT LONGER THAN THE FEW MINUTES THEY DID. I'M NOT SO SURE THIS PROBLEM IS ABOUT MY SIENNA ONLY. WHEN I RIDE IN THE BACK SEAT OF OTHER VEHICLES THE SEAT BELT SEEMS TO TIGHTEN. IF I HAD TO GUESS, I'D SAY THEY DON'T PUT THE SAME QUALITY SEAT BELT IN THE BACK OF A VEHICLE AS THEY DO THE FRONT SEATS JUST BECAUSE THEY WOULD COST MORE. ANYTHING YOU COULD DO TO REMEDY THIS SITUATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. SINCE THIS HAPPENS ANY TIME SOMEONE IS IN THE BACK SEAT, I AM PICKING A RANDOM INCIDENT DATE. *TR
PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT WENT ON. REPORTED IT TO TOYOTA LEESBURG DURING ITS FIRST MAINTENANCE APPOINTMENT. TECHNICIAN DID SOMETHING UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT AND THE LIGHT DISAPPEARED. HE SAID THAT IT POSES NO PROBLEM. LIGHT WENT ON AGAIN ABOUT A MONTH LATER. REPORTED THE INCIDENT SEVERAL TIMES DURING MAINTENANCE CHECKS. LIGHT KEPT COMING BACK ON UNTIL THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE REAR DOORS OF THE VEHICLE DO NOT CLOSE PROPERLY. TO CLOSE THE DOORS IT REQUIRED EXCESSIVE FORCE, AND THEY LEAK WHEN IT RAINS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE SERVICE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. AFTER EIGHT DAYS, THE DEALER WAS STILL UNABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. UPDATED 03/17/06. *JB
BRAND NEW 2006 TOYOTA SIENNA BROUGHT IN FOR FLASHING AIRBAG LIGHT. TOLD LOOSE CONNECTOR UNDER DRIVER'S SEAT. DEALERSHIP REST. LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AGAIN WHILE DEPLOYED OVERSEAS. UPON RETURN FROM OVERSEAS ASSIGNMENT, AIRBAG LIGHT STILL FLASHING, NOT UNDER WARRANTY ANYMORE AND REPAIR WOULD BE $3,000. TOLD AIRBAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY AND WILL FAIL STATE SAFETY INSPECTION. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SIENNA'S NEED TO BE RECALLED TO CORRECT THIS MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. THOUSANDS OF CONSUMERS HAVE SAME ISSUE ON SIENNA'S. IT IS NOT RIGHT THAT CONSUMERS HAVE TO PAY FOR A TOYOTA DESIGN ISSUE REPAIR THAT COULD RESULT IN DEATH OF FAMILY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA SIENNA. THE DRIVER STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH IN AN ATTEMPT TO INCREASE SPEED, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HESITATE AND SURGE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO ASSIST HIM SINCE THE FAILURE WAS ELECTRICAL WHICH WAS ALSO A NORMAL FUNCTION OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000. THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN SLOWING DOWN BETWEEN 5- 10 MPH AND THEN SPEEDING BACK UP AGAIN, THE VAN WOULD HESITATE AND THEN SURGE FORWARD TO THE POINT OF JERKING THE CONSUMERS NECK. THE VEHICLE WOULD SLOW DOWN ONCE THE ACCELERATOR WAS RELEASED. ALSO, THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WAS EXHIBITING A POPPING/SCRAPPING NOISE WHEN IT WAS BEING OPENED OR CLOSED. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THERE WAS A RECALL REGARDING THE THINNESS OF METAL WHICH ALLOWED THE CRACKING OF THE METAL WHERE THE DOOR STOP WAS ATTACHED TO THE DOOR. DUNLOP ST4000 TIRES ARE WORN OUT AT 20,500 HIGHWAY MILES. SERIOUS PROBLEM. THIS IS A REALLY BIG ISSUE, AS I HAVE SEEN ALL THE COMPLAINTS ON MANY INTERNET SITES. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THESE TIRES. THE CAR IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD AND I HAVE TO SPEND $1000 PLUS ON NEW TIRES?????? I WENT TO MY TOYOTA DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO AND THAT I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR 4 NEW TIRES. I CAN'T BUY REGULAR TIRES BECAUSE THERE IS NO ROOM FOR A SPARE TIRE ANYWHERE. THIS IS INSANE. I WILL HAVE TO THINK TWICE BEFORE BUYING ANOTHER TOYOTA. I HAVE BEEN A TOYOTA FAN SINCE I COULD REMEMBER; THIS HAS REALLY CHANGED MY PERSPECTIVE OF THIS COMPANY. *NM
A 2006 SIENNA. THE SEAT BELT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE THIRD SEAT HAS TO USE THE CARS IGNITION KEY TO UNLOCK IT. THIS IS IN ACCORDANCE TO THE OWNERS MANUAL. USUALLY THIS SEAT IS USED FOR A CHILD. IN AN ACCIDENT, THERE IS NO WAY TO QUICKLY RELEASE THE SEAT BELT IN THIS POSITION. IN THE CASE OF A CAR FIRE OR NEED TO QUICKLY EVACUATE THE VEHICLE, THE PERSON IN THIS SEAT WOULDN'T HAVE A CHANCE. LTR FM (CA) RE DEFECTIVE MODIFIED GAS TANK DESIGN FOR A 2006 TOYOTA SIENNA VAN BY FREEDOM MOTORS OF BATTLE CREEK, MI. *TGW THE VEHICLE WAS MODIFIED FOR HANDICAP USE. THE DEALER MADE A CHANGE TO THE GAS TANK. HOWEVER, ANOTHER DEALER STATED THE WARRANTY HAD BEEN VOIDED. THE DEALER THAT MADE THE MODIFICATIONS, STATED THE WARRANTY SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN VOIDED. THE CONSUMER STATED SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IT WOULD STALL OUT WHEN COMING TO A STOP. NONE OF THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS COULD FIND THE PROBLEM UNTIL RECENTLY. THE VEHICLE ALSO KICKED BACK FUEL WHEN THE CONSUMER TRIED TO FUEL AN ALMOST EMPTY TANK. THE AFTER MARKET FUEL TANK WAS NOT DESIGNED PROPERLY WITH THE EVAP CANISTER, WHICH WOULD CAUSE THE CANISTER TO FILL FUEL AND PURGE SOLENOID TO FAIL. IT MAY ALSO ACCOUNT FOR A VAPOR LOCK THAT CAUSED THE CAR NOT TO FUEL. *JB

S10 APPROPRIATE HANDLING RE TOYOTA VEHICLES RECALL PROBLEM, OWNER OF A 2006 TOYOTA SIENNA XLE MININVAN EXPERIENCED VEHICLE SHAKING DUE TO TIRES RUN-FLAT. *TGW THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE THAT THE RIM WAS BENT WHICH WAS REPLACED FOR $300.00, HOWEVER THE SHAKING CONTINUED. THE CONSUMER WENT BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE TIRES WERE NOT RIGHT; INSTEAD OF HAVING A TIRE SIZE OF 215/65/R16, THE CONSUMER HAD A TIRE SIZE OF 215/60/R16 ON THE VEHICLE. THE TIRES WERE THEN REPLACED. THE CONSUMER STATED THE TIRES THEN STARTED LOOSING PRESSURE AFTER DRIVING A FROM A LONG TRIP. THE CONSUMER STATED A REPUTABLE ORGANIZATION SOLD HIM THE WRONG SIZE TIRES. THE CONSUMER STATED ONCE HE HAD THE CORRECT SIZE TIRES INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE, THE SHAKING STOPPED.
2006 TOYOTA SIENNA CONCERN *GR THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO TRAVEL EXTREMELY FAST EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS DRIVING BETWEEN 60-65 MPH.
2006 TOYOTA SIENNA. CONSUMER WRITES REGARDING TOYOTA ALLOY WHEEL CORROSION. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WITHIN THE FIRST THREE MONTHS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED BUBBLING ON THE ALLOY RIMS, AS IF THEY WERE RUSTING FROM THE INSIDE OUT. *JB
