THE FRAME IS RUSTING. I CALLED AND WAS TOLD THE NOTICE I RECEIVED WAS FOR AIR BAG ISSUES ACCORDING TO THE DEALER. SO I CALLED CORPORATE AND WAS TOLD THE NOTICE ON MY RUST ISSUES EXPIRED JULY OF 2015. WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS WHY I RECEIVED THE NOTICE FOR THE AIRBAG BUT NOT THE RUST ISSUE? AND NOW THAT I KNOW ABOUT IT AND WANT TO GET IT RESOLVED THEY WONT DO ANYTHING? I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE A BALL JOINT BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE AND I AM SURPRISED THERE IS NOT A RECALL. THE FRAMES WILL EVENTUALLY RUST APART TIL THE SNAP. ARE WE WAITING FOR A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF PEOPLE TO DIE BEFORE HOLDING THEM ACCOUNTABLE? THIS ISN'T SOME SMALL ISSUE, THIS CAN BE LIFE THREATENING. I MAINTAIN MY VEHICLE VERY WELL. IT GETS ALL THE ROUTINE THINGS DONE AND ONLY A MECHANIC TOUCHES IT, IT IS NEVER WORKED ON AT HOME IN THE GARAGE. I LOVE MY TOYOTA AND I AM VERY SHOCKED THEY HAVEN'T GONE FURTHER TO CORRECT THEIR WRONG. THEY MADE THE MISTAKE AND DIDN'T PROTECT IT NOT ME. I DO EVERYTHING I AM SUPPOSED TO DO TO KEEP MY VEHICLE IN TIP TOP CONDITION SO I AM NOT LEFT STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED MULTIPLE TIMES BY PHYSICAL USPS MAILER THAT MY CAR NEEDS TO HAVE THE INFLATOR REPLACED FOR THE AIR BAGS. I FOLLOWED THE PROCESS 3 DIFFERENT TIMES AT WHICH POINT I WOULD BE PUT IN CONTACT WITH FOLSOM LAKE TOYOTA VIA TELEPHONE. EVERY TIME THEY STATED THAT THE PART NEEDED TO BE ORDERED SO THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK ON MY CELLPHONE TO SCHEDULE THE INSTALL WHEN THE PART ARRIVED. YEARS HAVE GONE BY AND THEY STILL NEVER CALL ME BACK, AND CLAIM THE PART NEEDS TO BE ORDERED EVERY TIME I DO TALK TO SOMEONE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SECONDARY AIR INJECTION VALVE AND PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.

STABILIZER LINKS ROTTED OFF, FIXED. FRONT END FAILING, FALLING APART AT 78,000 MILES. ALSO TRUCK FRAME RUSTING BADLY, RECEIVED RECALL 3RD NOTICE A YEAR AFTER THEY EXPIRED IT. I NEVER RECEIVED 1ST 2 NOTICES, THEY DON'T COME NOT REGISTERED MAIL. WE HAD MAIL ISSUES WITH USPS! THE REGULAR MAILMAN WAS OUT FOR 2 YEARS WITH CANCER SO WE HAD SUBSTITUTE MAILMEN, WE DIDN'T ALWAYS GET OUR MAIL, GET OTHER PEOPLES MAIL ETC.. WE WOULD OF CALLED ABOUT THE RECALL IF WE KNEW! I CALLED TOYOTA CORPORATE, THEY DIDN'T CARE, SAID I HAD 3 NOTICES, I ONLY RECEIVED 1 NOTICE AND IT WAS A YEAR AFTER IT EXPIRED! I AM 2ND OWNER. THE FRONT END IN THE TRUCK IS FALLING APART, HORRIBLE VIBRATING/BUMPING AND BANGING WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, TRUCK NOW HAS 92K, I GOOGLED AND IT CAME BACK LOWER BALL JOINT PROBLEM RECALL, 2006 TUNDRA. IF IT WAS SERVICED BY PREVIOUS OWNER AND BALL JOINT FAILED AGAIN WOULDN'T BE RECALLED COVERED AGAIN? HOW DO YOU FIND OUT IF IT WAS FIXED THE 1ST TIME? I DON'T WANT TO PUT MORE MONEY INTO IT IF IT IS COVERED UNDER A RECALL! I BOUGHT IT WITH 58K, IT WAS ALWAYS GARAGED AND ONLY DID VACATION TRIPS/HIGHWAY MILES, PREVIOUS OWNER WORKED FROM HOME. I GO 7 MILES/DAY. AND HIGHWAY VACATION TRIPS. PREVIOUS OWNER WAS ELDERLY AND HAS PASSED AWAY. ANY SERVICE RECORDS I DON'T HAVE, BUT HE MAINTAINED IT WELL! RECALLS SHOULD COME REGISTERED MAIL! WE ALSO HAVE A SEAT BELT PROBLEM, THEY DON'T ALWAYS WORK. THEY JAM, DON'T RECOIL, GET STUCK.
The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that back in 2014 he received a recall notification regarding corrosion on the subframe. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that a black sealant would be sprayed on the subframe to prevent corrosion. Over time, the sealant began to peel, and corrosion started to form on the subframe. The contact called the manufacturer and dealer about the failure but was offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

TAKATA RECALL: DELAY IN REPAIRING VEHICLE IS EXCESSIVE. VEHICLE IS A COMPANY BUSINESS AND IMPACTING MY ABILITY TO TRANSPORT EMPLOYEES TO WORKSITES. DELAY IS UNTENABLE.
I PULLED INTO MY FURNITURE STORE AND HAD THE TRUCK IN DRIVE BUT STATIONARY AND WAS GETTING READY TO PUT THE TRUCK IN REVERSE TO PARK INTO MY SPOT. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE TRUCK ACCELERATED LIKE A BAT OUT OF HELL AND I ENDED UP CRASHING INTO THE STORE'S ENTRANCE CAUSING A LOT OF DAMAGE TO BOTH THE VEHICLE AND THE STORE'S BUILDING. IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE BECAUSE I ALMOST RAN OVER MY DAUGHTER. I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. I DID NOT PRESS THE GAS PEDAL BY MISTAKE. THIS IS A TERRIBLE SITUATION. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN TO ANYONE.
RECEIVED NOTE FOR REPLACEMENT A LONG TIME AGO. TOYOTA CAN NOT PROCURE AN AIRBAG IN 6 MONTH?? ARE THEY REALLY INTENDING TO REPLACE IT OR DO WE HAVE WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE GETS HURT?? WORKING IN THE INDUSTRY I REALLY WONDER ABOUT THEIR EXCUSES.

TAKATA RECALL MY TOYOTA TUNDRA IS A 2006 LIMITED FULLY LOADED BEAUTIFUL TRUCK.... UNTIL YOU LOOK UNDER NEATH IT! THE FRAME HAS RUST HOLES, THE STRUTS RUSTED OFF THE FRAME, THE BREAK LINES ARE RUSTED OUT, MY BREAK DRUMS ARE RUSTED OUT, LEAF SPRING ARE RUSTED OUT, THE EXHAUST SYSTEM RUSTED OFF AND THE BEST PART ABOUT ALL OF THIS IS THAT THE TRUCK WAS TAKEN TO TOYOTA FOR THE RECALL AND SPRAYED INSTEAD OF REPLACED! THE DEALER TOOK SPONGES AND PUT THEM INTO THE FRAME AND PAINTED OVER THE FRAME!! A TOYOTA DEALER!!!! AND NOW THAT THE FRAME IS FALLING APART TOYOTA IS SAYING IT'S NOT THEIR PROBLEM THE RECALL IS OVER. EVEN THOUGHT THE FRAME WASN'T REPLACED WHEN IT WAS NEEDING TO BE REPLACED! I HAVE A ROTTING FRAME EVEN AFTER THE CRC TREATMENT WAS APPLIED FROM TOYOTA. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO PREVENT THE FRAME RUST ISSUE BUT IT ONLY LOCKS IN THE MOISTURE AND CAUSES MORE DAMAGE. TOYOTA WILL NOT HONOR THE FRAME REPLACEMENT DUE TO THIS CRC APPLICATION EVEN THOUGH IT DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I'M SURE THERE ARE MANY TOYOTA TUNDRAS, TACOMAS, AND SEQUOIAS DRIVING AROUND WITH FRAMES FALLING APART. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN NOT ONLY FOR THE DRIVER BUT ALSO FOR OTHER MOTORISTS.
RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FROM TOYOTA SOME TIME BACK IN REGARDS TO THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. NOTICE DOES NOT INDICATE WHEN THE REMEDY CAN BE PERFORMED, BUT DOES RECOMMEND NOT ALLOWING ANYONE TO RIDE IN THE FONT PASSENGER SEAT. THIS IS BEYOND WORDS. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE, PUT SOME PRESSURE ON THE MANUFACTURER. IT IS THEIR PROBLEM, MAKE THEM FIX IT NOW. TELLING SOMEONE NOT TO USE A PASSENGER SEAT IN A PICKUP IS ASININE. RECALL IS PATHETIC.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR CONTROL VALVE HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. MY 2006 TOYOTA TUNDRA DOUBLE CAB HAS SIGNIFICANT RUST, WHICH HAS RESULTED IN A CRACK ALONG THE FRAME RAIL APPROXIMATELY 6 INCHES LONG NEAR THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WHEEL. THE FRAME HAS NUMEROUS OTHER HOLES OPENING UP AND SIGNIFICANT FLAKES OF STEEL FALLING OF THE FRAME IN THIS SAME AREA. I HAVE METICULOUSLY CARED FOR THIS VEHICLE AND HAVE BEEN SURE TO KEEP THE CAR AND FRAME CLEAN, PARTICULARLY DURING THE HARSH WINTER MONTHS. NONETHELESS THE FRAME HAS RUSTED TO THE POINT WHERE THE SWAY BAR MOUNT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS ALMOST RUSTED THROUGH. WHILE TOYOTA INITIATED A "LIMITED SERVICE CAMPAIGN" THIS IS NOT A FULL RECALL. I LEARNED OF THIS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE 26 DAYS AFTER THE CONCLUSION OF THE CAMPAIGN ON JULY 31, 2015. AS THIS IS NOT A RECALL, CUSTOMERS SUCH AS MYSELF HAVE NO RECOURSE. I CONTACTED TOYOTA AND WAS RUDELY INFORMED THAT THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS AND THAT MY VEHICLE CANNOT BE COVERED UNDER THE CAMPAIGN AS IT HAS EXPIRED. THIS LEAVES ME WITH SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE AS A RESULT OF TOYOTA'S ENGINEERING ERROR. NOT ONLY DOES THIS SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE THE VALUE OF MY VEHICLE, BUT CLEARLY POSES A SAFETY HAZARD AS CRITICAL COMPONENTS OF THE FRONT SUSPENSION ARE WEAKENED. FURTHERMORE, AN ACCIDENT COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS DAMAGE AND INJURY AS A RESULT OF THE WEAKENED STRUCTURE. THE FACT THAT THIS HAS NOT BEEN NOT BEEN CLASSIFIED AS A RECALL IS APPALLING. TOYOTA IS UNWILLING TO STAND BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES AND HAS LEFT ME TO FEND FOR MYSELF FOR THEIR ERROR. I STRONGLY URGE THE NHTSA TO RECONSIDER THEIR CLOSED CASE ON THIS FRAME ISSUE AND DEMAND A RECALL. THE MEASURES TOYOTA HAS TAKEN THROUGH THIS CAMPAIGN ARE NOT SUFFICIENT. THERE ARE COUNTLESS OTHER OWNERS WHOSE FRAMES ONLY RECEIVED THE CRC COATING AND HAVE CONTINUED TO RUST. THIS WAS CLEARLY A STOPGAP MEASURE. TOYOTA SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE SAFETY HAZARD AND ECONOMIC IMPACT OF THEIR DESIGN FLAW.
WE RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION REGARDING A SAFETY RECALL FOR OUR TOYOTA TUNDRA 2006. IT SAYS THAT TOYOTA DOESN'T CURRENTLY HAVE THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WHICH MAY BE UNDER PRESSURE AND COULD DEPLOY AT ANYTIME. WE WERE ADVISED NOT TO UTILIZE THE PASSENGER SIDE OF OUR VEHICLE UNTIL WE ARE CONTACTED FOR A REPAIR. THIS ADVISE HAS NOT BEEN POSSIBLE SINCE WE HAVE ANOTHER CAR IN THE SHOP AND WE HAVE NEEDED TO COMMUTE TOGETHER. WE DO NOT FEEL THAT WE SHOULD HAVE TO RENT A CAR. IT'S UNREASONABLE THAT TOYOTA WOULD EXPECT THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS TO "WAIT" FOR A REPAIR THAT IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY AND IN THE MEANTIME NOT USE THEIR VEHICLE. IT HAS BEEN OVER THREE WEEKS SINCE WE RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTIFICATION AND WE HAVE NOT HEARD FROM TOYOTA THAT OUR REPAIR CAN BE SCHEDULED. THE VEHICLE FRAME IS SHOWING MAJOR SIGNS OF RUST. THIS APPARENTLY IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE. WHEN I CONTACTED TOYOTA REGARDING THIS MATTER I WAS TOLD THAT THEY ISSUED A TEMPORARY SERVICE FOR THIS BUT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED. THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE SINCE WHENEVER CONPONENTS NEED REPLACING THE BOLTS MUST BE CUT OFF DUE TO RUSTING. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL SINCE CERTAIN AREAS ARE THINNING ON THE FRAME.

RECEIVED AN UNDATED LETTER OF RECALL FOR A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG. THIS WAS AN INTERIM NOTICE WITH A REMEDY BUT NO IDEA WHEN IT CAN BE FIXED. I CALLED TOYOTA CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE AND THEY GAVE ME A CASE # 1508251905.THEY TOLD ME TO CALL THE DEALER CLOSE TO MY AREA TO SEE WHEN PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. NO ONE KNOWS WHEN PARTS ARE GOING TO BE IN MY AREA .I AM PAYING FOR A VEHICLE THAT I CAN'T PUT ANYONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT DUE TO FAULTY AIR BAG THAT MAY INJURE OR KILL IF SEATED IN THE SEAT. TOYOTA NEEDS TO AT LEAST GIVE US AN IDEA WHEN THIS PROBLEM CAN BE FIXED.

I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FOR AIRBAGS FROM TOYOTA WHO "STRONGLY RECOMMENDS THAT YOU HAVE THIS SAFETY RECALL REMEDY PERFORMED IMMEDIATELY. IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS LETTER, YOU SHOULD NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE." WHEN CALLING FOR AN APPOINTMENT ON JULY 28, 2015 AT TOYOTA OF FORT WORTH, 9001 CAMP BOWIE W BLVD, FORT WORTH, TX I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULDN'T HAVE REPLACEMENT PARTS UNTIL SEPTEMBER 23, 2015.
