Start/stop error lightafter already replaced by dealership Brake booster faulty EPC light comes on-off randomly
While driving on the highway, a warning flashed on the dashboard- FAULTY BRAKE BOOSTER. The pressure of the brake pedal was significantly diminished and was accompanied by a clicking sound. The red brake warning light illuminated. After 5 minutes, proper brake functioning was restored. Within a period of 20 minutes, the above sequence of events was repeated 3 times. After stopping and parking, the warning light went out. Upon start up later in the day, the same Faulty Brake Booster warning sounded and the brakes again were spongy and choppy. The following day, when driving to the VW dealership, the same message flashed on the dash multiple times and brake functioning was impaired.
The transmission at low speeds, while accelerating makes a grinding noise
I Bought the SUV on 6-22-23 Tried to get the recall fixed on 8-11-23 And according to Volkswagen the recall came out on 4-4-23. This means I was sold a vehicle with a known safety recall with no current fix as was not alerted. I bought the vehicle to earn a living by renting it on Turo and they will not let it be rented with an open safety recall. I need to file a complaint.
The contact owns a 2019 Volkswagen Atlas. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 80 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to coast the vehicle off the road. The START/STOP warning light and the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle however, the vehicle failed to accelerate over 30 MPH. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel injectors had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact then stated that while driving at approximately 80 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The START/STOP warning light and the check engine warning light were again illuminated. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel injectors failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not yet been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
I have had an issue with my vehicle shutting off while 1) at a stop (red light/stop sign) 2)while coasting and also stuttering as I reverse. This has happened both while the start/stop was turned on as well as when it is turned off. I have taken it to the dealership three times and the best response I have received is that "it's a Germlin" in there. The car does not produce any error codes and they can't duplicate the issue. They have nothing they can pinpoint in order to fix it. However, this is a serious safety issue and as I research online I find MANY others with the same issue. My vehicle is part of the recall for the passenger airbag and the airbag light on the dash is illuminated. There is still no remedy available and it has been almost 3 months. I am unable to use my passenger seat and feel like a fix has not been made available in a timely manner.
Suddenly Warning lights illuminate- Brake Booster Faulty, Start Error, ABS. Brakes then feel spongy, jerky hard to slow down and stop safely. Vehicle then needs to be towed to dealership for repair - vacum sensor C10A301 replaced. This has happened three times 4/22/21, 8/5/21 and 6/7/23. Dealership claims to need the part for refund from VW for warranty repair. This is a dangerous situation and needs to be remedied, especially as this is a family car.
The contact owns a 2019 Volkswagen Atlas. The contact received notification of the NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V215000 (Air Bags) however, the parts to do the recall repair were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and the contact was advised not to use the front passenger’s side seat until the repair was completed and to take the vehicle to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
When starting the vehicle, the warning system will flash and display several errors, mainly "parking brake failure" and the light on the parking brake control will flash.Parking brake will disengage after several attempts and warning will go away. Problem started about 1 month ago and is becoming more persistant.

Unrepaired recall. No repair plan available. Passenger airbag detection sensor may be faulty and not deploy air bag.
At random time, during slower speeds, many vehicle would “jerk” mad produce a Brake Booster Faulty warning and the brake light would illuminate on the console. The brakes would then become “spongy” and difficult to operate. The light would stay in, or turn off after a while and driving would resume as normal. Difficult to replicate but scary how random it is.
Front passenger seat airbag sensor not detecting someone sitting there.
ABS and Brake warning light come on dash making the break pedal click, causing the car to break abruptly or lock. Usually happens while at a complete stope or if driving below 30 to 20 miles an hour.
I was driving with my husband in the passenger seat and my 5 month old baby girl in the back seat. All of a sudden we heard a loud sound that sounded like a gunshot and our sunroof shattered. There were no other cars around and we were not driving under any bridges. We pulled over immediately and checked to see if we could find a something in the car but we did not find anything. There was a hole in our sunroof and shattered glass on us.
The car sensors pick up objects that are not there which then causes the emergency brake system to engage on its own. Anytime in the vehicle there is no stop beeping from the sensors detecting objects that are not a threat. When entering an intersection is when the car seems to engage the emergency break the most. When this occurs I am stuck not moving when oncoming traffic heading towards me. I have almost been tboned in collisions several times by this error in the system. I have taken it to the Volkswagen service department several time over 2 months and they said the car does not read an error code so they can not help. They acknowledged there was a problem and they believe it is the sensors but said they can not do anything with it due to Volkswagen policies. We have presented video evidence of the issue to the dealership and they even saw it happen in their parking lot.The car is under warranty from the manufacture for 7 years and 84,000 miles. I reached out to Volkswagen directly and they said if the car doesn’t read an error code they won’t do anything. The car is unsafe to drive in at this time.
This vehicle has a major design issue nearly resulting in several accidents. The front safety impact system is very flawed design and needs to be removed and reinstalled. Multiple times I exited steep, not obnornallt steep, parking lot and the emergency brakes engage and enable my ability to accelerate when on coming traffic and Causing repeated dangerous situations for the driver and passengers. The “safety” system is a very bad design and needs to be quickly address before accidents and injuries occur.
The passenger side airbag has been switched off due to a fault in something. So if I have a passenger in my front passenger side and am in an accident, the airbag will not deploy which could cause a multitude of safety problems and possibly cause a fatality. I took my car in 6/15/23 to the dealership and they did confirm that my car was effected by this recall, however, they did not have a fix for it. My light indicating that the passenger airbag is off has been on for over a month. I have contacted Volkswagen and their response to me was "just don't put anyone in the front seat". That response is simply unacceptable when my family and friends lives are at stake. This is approximately the 10 safety recall on this vehicle.
I have a recall on my car that has no fix and they ask us to not let anyone sit in the passenger seat. I don't see how this is a very safe approach to the fix. If this is the case I think all these cars should be taken off the road and not driven. I have a husband that has been in an accident on the passenger side and almost passed away. I refuse to put him in a car that is not to par with air bags. These cars should be deemed unsafe and taken off the road. This is not the first recall that I have had to deal with and I think it is crazy to have a car that my husband can ride in the front seat. The first recall was back in March now this one which started in May
I was driving on the highway around 60 mph. Without warning, my car's brakes fully engaged. There was no car or object ahead of me. A warning light that had the words "Brake Booster" was displayed but I couldn't make out what else it said as I was trying to regain control of the vehicle. Thankfully, there was no one behind me otherwise this could very well have resulted in a high-speed accident. The car went from 60 mph to around 20 mph. I pulled off the side of the road as quickly as possible.
VW Atlas has been at VW Service Repair center since 5/2/23 to fix air bag light and ABS warning signal. Last status (5/5/23) software errors were reported by service team, preventing car from being useable/driveable.
We received a recall notice in May regarding the passenger airbag and Volkswagen still does not have a solution yet.

In May, I received notice of a defective airbag in the passenger side front seat of my 2019 Volkswagen Atlas. When I was driving and the malfunction occurred (an acoustic sound and "airbag off" lights), I followed the instructions on the recall notice and contacted my local dealer Wellesley Volkswagen to have it evaluated. On 6/8/23 the car was evaluated and I was told by the service department there was no fix for the problem and no timeline for the fix. I was advised to stop using the passenger front seat, because there was a chance the airbag would not deploy in a crash. This is my only vehicle and I have two young children. I am also a caregiver for my very ill mother, who is on oxygen. To transport her, I arrange to use another vehicle so she can sit comfortably. I cannot risk her safety! This has caused me such stress my father tried to help me by calling Wellesley VW, and he was told the only thing I could do was rent a car with my own money. I continued to get emails from Wellesley VW and Carfax this summer, reminding me about the recall. When I called the dealership this summer, I was told there was no fix and no timeline for the fix. I got an email from Wellesley VW on September 1 about the recall, and I wrote back but got no response. Today 9/7/23 called Wellesley VW service again, and was told there is no fix, not timeline for the fix, and there is nothing else they can do for me at this time. It has been 130+ days! Today I called the Attorney General of Massachusetts and filed a consumer complaint against Volkswagen of America, Inc. The airbag is one of the most important safety aspects of a motor vehicle. The fact that this has been going on for so long and there is no remedy is absolutely unacceptable.
This passenger seat sensor recall has been going on for almost a year that I should not have a passenger in my car????
Vehicle emergency break activates, unable to release, or when teleased after multiple attempts the light continues flashing on the break button and warning alert on the dasboard. The first time it happened i arrived to destination and parked, when parked as i am waiting it activated when the door was opened. It has not been inspeacted yet, it fist started about 1 week ago. Its unpredictable when it will happen.
The rear camera becomes unavailable intermittently when backing up. This has only happened occasionally and recently (in the past few months) and may be related to the infotainment system being given priority on the display and may be affected by weather (rainy).
11 months since recall and VW has no fix!! This is not timely and continues to affect passenger safety inthe vehicle! How can you get VW to remedy or force them to buy back vehicles at a fair price!!
The contact owns a 2019 Volkswagen Atlas. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that the passenger’s side air bag wiring associated with the seat heater and air bag was faulty and needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the failure might prevent the air bag from deploying in a crash. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was advised not use the passenger’s side front seat until the vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000.

The front passenger air bag warning light has been coming on intermittently for over 6 months now. It first began on a 4-hour trip, chiming the whole 4 hours while a passenger was in the seat, unable to move to another seat due to occupancy. The vehicle was brought into the dealership and sensor was replaced. Since then, the warning has continued to come on intermittently and the vehicle was brought into the dealership 2 additional times with no fix. Being told by Volkswagen to have no one sit in the front passenger seat until a remedy is found is unacceptable especially for those who do not have a choice to not have that seat occupied.
Warning light indicated BRAKE BOOSTER FAULTY, brake light came on and brakes felt different pressing down.
Hi our front passenger airbag light keeps going in and out. I've called the Volkswagen care line the local dealer in south hills Pa. No one was any help. I have 2 children in car seats 2 teenagers and mom and dad. We can't even take this car out anymore. This been going on for months now.
There is an open recall that they have not yet fixed.

The manufacturer had communicated an potential failure of the passenger side airbag in April 2023. The issue will not alert me unless an occupant is in the passenger seat and there is a potential failure while in transit. This is high risk. No remedy is available and this is affecting my personal and work life, along with finances as I cannot drive with other passengers due to the risk of severe injury or death. Numerous complaints and requests were sent to the manufacturer (VW) but nothing has been done. This is a known safety issue and I should not be paying for a vehicle that is known to potential causes harm to my passengers.
This car has an active recall on it since April, 2023 with no known remedy. In the meantime, I'm not supposed to have a passenger sit in the front seat. My lease is ending. I cannot buy the car from the dealer because they won't sell it with an open recall.
Vehicles stalls randomly all the times ,moving or not . Almost got rear ended several times . Spent 3k at Vw in Brandon for brakes that were only 70k miles on them . But they still squeal . Can’t fuel with gas as the pressure just pushes the fuel back at me . Seems worse in warmer weather . Vw said they would not touch the charcoal canister as that what I’ve deemed is the issue.

Our FAMILY car cannot be USED due to this air bag recall!! No one can sit in the front seat due to this issue, because may or may not go off in accident - Volkswagen has no solution other than, just don’t let anyone sit in the front passenger seat!! This recall appears to follow the electrical issues everyone is complaining of. The amount of recalls this vehicle has had since 2019 , needs to investigated. ! This car sits in the garage and not useable… A 20year old car is more safer and reliable than this car
The passenger air bag system is failing, the suggested fix is to not have a passenger ride in that seat. But since we have 4 kids in car seats in the back and only have one car we have no choice but for one of us to Always ride in that seat and risk injury.
Unresolved airbag recall.
