FAILURE OF THE INLET MAIFOLD FOUND FROM CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE 2 YEARS APART. ONE AT APPROX.92000 AND AGAIN AT 111000
DRIVING HOME ON THE FREEWAY THE ENGINE STARTED MAKING ABNORMAL NOISE (TICKING). CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND LET THEM KNOW I WAS BRINGING IT IN TO BE CHECKED OUT. ON THE WAY THERE THE ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING AND I PULLED OVER AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. SEVERAL DAYS LATER DEALERSHIP CALLED AND TOLD ME THE TIMING CHAIN BROKE AND CATASTROPHICLY DESTROYED THE ENGINE. PURCHASED THE VEHICLE CERTIFIED USED WITH 25,578 MILES. AT THE TIME OF THE ENGINE FAILURE IT HAD 62,569 MILES. THE TIMING CHAIN THAT DESTROYED THE ENGINE PREMATURELY FAILED. I HEARD ABOUT A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT SETTLEMENT IN NEW JERSEY FOR THIS PROBLEM AND IT APPEARED MY MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE WAS IN THE GROUP TO BE REIMBURSED FOR DAMAGES. WITH NO OTHER OPTIONS I HAD TO TAKE MONEY FROM MY RETIREMENT SAVINGS AND REPLACE THE ENGINE. AFTER ABOUT ONE MONTH I RECEIVED A TEXT FROM THE DEALERSHIP SAYING THEY HAD BAD NEWS. APPARENTLY AFTER REPLACING THE ENGINE, THEY STARTED THE CAR AND IN TWO MINUTES THEY HEARD AN ABNORMAL KNOCK COMING FROM THE ENGINE AND TOLD ME THAT THE NEW ENGINE WAS GOING TO NEED TO BE REPLACED. NOW I JUST FOUND OUT THAT MY YEAR VEHICLE 2013 CC VW IS NOT PART OF THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. ALL THE EXACT ISSUES I HAVE BEEN READING ABOUT HAVE HAPPENED TO MY VEHICLE. OBVIOUSLY THIS DEFECT IS NOT LIMITED TO ONLY THE VEHICLES IN THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AND PAID EXTRA FOR IT BECAUSE IT WAS CERTIFIED USED. I NEEDED A VERY RELIABLE COMMUTE VEHICLE TO GET TO WORK AND BACK HOME SAFELY. AFTER THE DEALERSHIP HAVING MY CAR FOR OVER TWO MONTHS, I WAS DRIVING A COUPLE DAYS LATER AND THE CAR HESITATED AT A STOP AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. HAD IT TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME ONE OF THE FUEL INJECTORS WAS "ACTING UP". VWOF A KNEW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND SHOULD HAVE RECALLED THE TIMING CHAIN. NOW I HAVE TO GIVE THEM MORE MONEY!!!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (VOLKSWAGEN OF NORTH SCOTTSDALE, 7001 CHAUNCEY LN, PHOENIX, AZ 85054) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE NOX SENSOR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
CAR LOSES ENGINE POWER DURING ACCELERATION TO THE POINT IT FEELS THE CAR MAY STALL OUT. THIS ISSUE IS NOT CONSTANT, IT IS RANDOM. THERE IS NO " CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT AT ANY TIME BEFORE, DURING, OR AFTER EVENT. I LEARN TODAY THAT MY FUEL MODULE AND RELATED SEALS AND PUMP ARE FAULTY AND NEED TO BE REPLACED BUT MY VIN IS NOT PART OF VW RECALL FOR THIS VERY SAME ISSUE ON OTHER CC'S. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM WHEN DRIVING TO SUDDENLY LOSE ENGINE POWER. PERHAPS THE RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED?

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO SONNEN VOLKSWAGEN (FRANCISCO BLVD W, SAN RAFAEL, CA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 171805804. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 VOLKSWAGEN CC. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK COOLANT WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. WHILE INSPECTING UNDER THE HOOD, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE COOLANT RESERVOIR WAS NEARLY EMPTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE WATER PUMP HAD CRACKED, CAUSING COOLANT TO LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER (WINNER VOLKSWAGEN IN DOVER, DELAWARE) WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 45 MPH THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH THE WARNING TO TAKE CAR TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE IMMEDIATELY. I DID GO, IMMEDIATELY, AND WHILE THE SERVICE MANAGER COULD NOT TELL ME EXACTLY WHY, I WAS CHARGED $600 TO REPLACE PISTONS. ABOUT TWO MONTHS LATER WHILE DRIVING SLOWLY IN A PARKING LOT, I STARTED TO TURN ONTO THE DRIVEWAY AND THE CAR SIMPLY STOPPED, WENT DARK, AND THE STEERING BECAME IMPOSSIBLE. AFTER TRYING SEVERAL TIMES AND THEN SITTING FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES THE CAR STARTED AGAIN. IT WAS A LEASED CAR THAT I INTENDED TO BUY FOR MY DAUGHTER. I TURNED THE CAR BACK IN AND DID NOT BUY IT.
AT ABOUT 43K MILES I WAS DRIVING ON A MULTI LANE HIGHWAY WHEN THE CAR STARTED VIOLENTLY TREMBLING/JERKING THEN SPUTTERED AND TURNED OFF. I WAS ABLE TO TURN IT BACK ON AND GET ONTO A SIDE MEDIAN. THE CAR CONTINUED TO JERK I DROVE TO DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY A FEW MILES AWAY. BY THE TIME I GOT THERE IT WAS NO LONGER JERKING AND ONLY RANDOM MISFIRES IN THE ENGINE WHERE FOUND ON DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CAR SINCE BEFORE THAT TIME AND STILL HAS A LOW LEVEL BUT NOTICEABLE TREMBLE WHEN IT IS IDLE. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES TO HAVE IT ADDRESSED BUT THEY CLAIM TO NOT BE ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM.

I BOUGHT A NEW VW CC THAT IS A 2.0T AND HAS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. BEFORE BUYING AND JUST TEST DRIVING THE CAR, THE CAR DROVE JUST FINE. THE ISSUE IS THAT AFTER THE CAR WARMS UP FOR A WHILE, THE RPMS WILL HANG FOR A FEW SECONDS AFTER YOU LET OFF THE GAS. THIS CAUSES MANY SAFETY ISSUES AND I HAVE NOW FOUND OUT THAT ALL VW CARS MADE IN 2013 WITH THE 2.0T ENGINE HAVE THIS ISSUE. I ALMOST CRASHED THE CAR DUE TO THIS ISSUE A COUPLE WEEKS AGO WHEN IN SLOW STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. NOT ONLY IS THE REV HANG IS WEARING OUT CLUTCHES PREMATURELY AND MAKES THESE CARS VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE, IT IS ALSO A SAFETY CONCERN SINCE THE ENGINE KEEPS THE THROTTLE OPEN FOR A FEW SECONDS AFTER WE LET OFF OF THE GAS. THE CAR JUST DRIVES ON ITS OWN LIKE IT HAS CRUISE CONTROL ON FOR A FEW SECONDS!!! IF YOU ARE DRIVING THE CAR IN THE SNOW AND THE WHEELS ARE SPINNING AND LOSING TRACTION, THEY WILL CONTINUE TO SPIN FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME AFTER YOU LET GO OF THE GAS WHICH CAN CAUSE YOU TO CRASH. GOOGLE "VW REV HANG" MY CAR HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER A FEW TIMES FOR THIS AND THEY CLAIM THAT NO ISSUE WAS FOUND. I THEN TEST DROVE OTHER 2013 VW CARS WITH THIS ENGINE AND FOUND THAT ALL OF THE CARS I DROVE HAVE THE RPM HANG ISSUE. I HAVE OWNED 7 CARS WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS IN THE PAST AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY OTHER CAR DO THIS. I STILL HAVE MY 2006 VW 2.0T CAR WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND THAT CAR DRIVES JUST FINE. PLEASE LOOK IN TO THIS ISSUE AND UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT AFFECTS ALL 2013 VW CARS WITH 2.0T ENGINES THAT ARE SOLD IN THE US WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS. PEOPLE ON THE VW FORMS BELIEVE THAT THIS WAS PUT INTO THE CARS TO HELP WITH PASSING NEW US EMISSIONS. I UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF BETTER EMISSIONS. HOWEVER, I DO NOT THINK THAT DRIVABILITY, RELIABILITY, AND SAFETY SHOULD BE SACRIFICED IN ORDER TO GET BETTER EMISSIONS. *TR
