CAR ENGINE HAS STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE PULLING UP TO A STOP. CAR IS A SIX SPEED MANUAL AND WAS OUT OF GEAR AT THE TIME THE STALL OCCURRED
SE (W/ EXPERIENCE PACKAGE), GREAT FALLS GREEN METALLIC, DSG IT HAS ONLY HAPPENED A COUPLE OF TIMES SO FAR AND I CAN'T REALLY REPLICATE IT BUT WHEN IT HAPPENED I COME TO A PRETTY NORMAL STOP, AND IT FEELS LIKE IT DOES THE AUTO START-STOP FUNCTION BUT THE CENTER CONSOLE WILL SAY "MANUAL RESTART REQUIRED" OR SOME SUCH THING. SURE ENOUGH ONCE I LET GO OF THE BREAK IT DOESN'T START BACK UP. I HAVE TO PUT IT IN PART AND START IT LIKE NORMAL. SO THE CAR JUST KIND OF STALLS RANDOMLY WHEN STOPPING.JUST NORMAL STOPS TOO. ALSO, EVERY SO OFTEN INSTEAD OF STALLING IT WILL KIND OF STUTTER TO A STOP. LIKE YOU'RE QUICKLY TAPPING ON THE BREAKS OR IT'S JUST HAVING TROUBLE TRYING TO STOP SMOOTHLY.
DURING STREET AND HIGHWAY DRIVING, THE ENGINE STALLS AFTER THE VEHICLE IS BROUGHT TO A COMPLETE STOP WITH CLUTCH DEPRESSED AND/OR TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL. OCCURS WITH ENGINE AT OPERATING TEMPERATURE IRRESPECTIVE OF INITIAL SPEED OR ENGAGED GEAR PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF BRAKING AND DECELERATION. IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO THE STALL, THE ENGINE RUNS ROUGH OR SEEMS TO BE MISFIRING FOR ONE OR TWO SECONDS. ONCE THE FIRST EVENT OCCURS, IT WILL THEN REPEAT 25-50% OF THE TIME THE VEHICLE IS DECELERATED TO A STOP.
CAR HAS MANUAL TRANSMISSION. CAR UNEXPECTEDLY STALLS OUT WHEN SLOWING TO A STOP IN CITY DRIVING. ALTHOUGH RESTARTING THE ENGINE IS NO PROBLEM, IT SOMETIMES WILL STALL REPEATEDLY REQUIRING MULTIPLE RESTARTS. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM, NOR CAN I FORCE IT TO HAPPEN.
THE CAR SOFT STALLS WHEN I STOP AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. THE CLUTCH CAN BE FULL ENGAGED, OR NOT BUT IS NEVER IN GEAR. WHEN I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP THE CAR STALLS AND SHUTS OFF. SOME TIMES THE CARS STALLS SO SOFTLY THAT I CAN'T TELL THE ENGINE HAS SHUT OFF. I WILL HAVE TO START IT AGAIN BEFORE I CAN GET MOVING. I HAVE 1400 MILES ON A NEW BE GTI RABBIT EDITION AND THIS PROBLEM STARTED ROUGHLY 200 MILES AGO BUT HAS GOTTEN MUCH MORE FREQUENT IN THE LAST 50 MILES
CAR STALLING AT LOW SPEED. NEEDS TO BE RESTARTED.
THE VEHICLE STALLS WHEN COMING TO A STOP, OR A FEW SECONDS AFTER STOPPING, EITHER IN GEAR WITH THE CLUTCH PEDAL FULLY DEPRESSED OR IN NEUTRAL. THE BEHAVIOR IS NOT CONSISTENT BUT CAN BE REPRODUCED AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS.
THE ENGINE STALL COMING UP ON A STOP. THE CLUTCH IS FULLY DEPRESSED AND GEAR IN NEUTRAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED ALMOST EVERY DAY.
2019 VW GTI S WITH THE 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION IN WHITE. THE CAR STALLS OUT. IT HAPPENS WHEN IT'S IN NEUTRAL, AS I COME TO A STOP (NOT IN GEAR, AND THE CLUTCH IS NOT DEPRESSED). IT STALLS OUT THE WAY A CAR WOULD STALL WHEN YOU COME TO A STOP WHEN YOU ARE IN GEAR. THE CAR WAS JUST PURCHASED 7 DAYS AGO. IT CURRENTLY HAS 105 MILES ON IT AND THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 DIFFERENT TIMES. BUILD DATE OF 3/19
BRAND NEW CAR 6SP MANUAL TRANSMISSION. THE CAR DIED WHEN ROLLING TO A STOP IN NEUTRAL TWICE. THIS WAS ON MY FIRST EXTENDED DRIVE IN THE CAR AFTER PURCHASING.
CAR STALLS AT LOW SPEEDS WHILE CLUTCH IS FULLY ENGAGED. SOFT SHUTDOWN ALMOST FEELS LIKE THE AUTO START/STOP ON AUTOMATIC MODELS.. THIS HAPPENED THREE TIMES THIS MORNING WHILE COMING ONTO A MILITARY BASE WHERE THERE IS TYPICALLY STOP AND START TRAFFIC. NO CEL OR ERRORS ON DASH.
I PURCHASED THIS CAR WITH ONLY 600 MILES ON IT AND HAVE HAD IT FOR 3 DAYS. IT IS A 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND NOT THE FIRST MANUAL I HAVE EVER HAD. WHEN COMING TO A STOP, IF THE CLUTCH IS ENGAGED FULLY, THE CAR WILL SOFT STALL LEAVING ME TO HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR TO GET MOVING. THE STALL IS SO SUBTLE THAT EVERY TIME IT HAS HAPPENED I DIDN'T REALIZE IT UNTIL I PRESSED THE GAS AND THE CAR DID NOTHING.THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT VW IS FAILING TO RECOGNIZE. FOR EXAMPLE, IT HAPPENED WHILE I WAS SLOWING DOWN IN THE TURNING LANE TO TAKE A LEFT TURN ACROSS TRAFFIC. WITH THE CLUTCH FULLY DEPRESSED I DOWNSHIFTED TO FIRST GEAR AND BEGAN TO TURN ACROSS THE ONCOMING LANE. AS I BEGAN TO APPLY THROTTLE AND RELEASE THE CLUTCH I NOTICED THE CAR HAD STALLED AND WAS FORCED TO RESTART THE CAR. THIS ALL HAPPENED WHILE I WAS SITTING IN THE ONCOMING LANE OF TRAFFIC WHICH COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT IF THERE HAD BEEN CARS COMING. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS MY DOING SO I SPENT SOME TIME TRYING TO RECREATE THE ISSUE. ABOUT 1 IN EVERY 5 STOPS WITH THE CLUTCH FULLY ENGAGED, WHETHER IN GEAR OR IN NEUTRAL, THE CAR WILL STALL WHEN IT COMES TO A STOP. THIS IS NOT NORMAL BEHAVIOR OR DUE TO INEXPERIENCE. I HAVE NEVER HAD A MANUAL VEHICLE WHERE THE ENGINE WOULD EVER STALL WITH THE CLUTCH FULLY ENGAGED. AFTER DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH ONLINE THIS IS APPARENTLY A WIDE SPREAD ISSUE THAT IS AFFECTING BRAND NEW 2019 GTI'S WITH THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION. VW IS FAILING TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM AND THIS NEGLIGENCE WILL ULTIMATELY LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT THAT COULD COST SOMEBODY THEIR LIFE. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!
VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED ON 5/27/19. VEHICLE HAS JUST OVER 1000 MILES. ISSUE FIRST STARTED DAY AFTER THE PURCHASE. THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE WILL INTERMITTENTLY STALL AFTER COMING TO A STOP. THE NATURE OF THE STALL IS SUBTLE, NOT JERKY. ALMOST LIKE A AUTO START/STOP FEATURE ON A VEHICLE WITH AN AUTO TRANSMISSION (MY GTI HAS A 6-SPEED MANUAL). THIS HAS HAPPENED 10 TIMES NOW. IVE HAD IT HAPPEN WITH THE CLUTCH PEDAL PRESSED (CLUTCH DISENGAGED) AND THE VEHICLE GEAR SHIFTER IN NEUTRAL AND ALSO IN GEAR. IVE ALSO HAD IT HAPPEN WITH THE CLUTCH PEDAL NOT PRESSED (CLUTCH ENGAGED) AND THE GEAR SHIFTER IN NEUTRAL. CAR RESTARTS FINE, BUT THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE THAT CAN LEAD TO ACCIDENTS.
WHILE COMING TO A STOP IN AN EMPTY PARKING LOT, THE CAR SUDDENLY STALLED WHILE THE CLUTCH WAS FULLY DEPRESSED AND THE CAR WAS IN 1ST GEAR. A FEW MINUTES LATER, THE CAR STALLED AGAIN AS IT WAS COMING TO A STOP WHILE THE CLUTCH WAS FULLY DEPRESSED AND THE CAR WAS IN FIRST GEAR. BOTH TIMES THE CAR WAS GOING NO FASTER THAN 5 MPH. ABOUT 15 MINUTES LATER THE CAR LEFT THE PARKING LOT AND WENT ONTO A ROAD AND UPON COMING UP TO THE RED LIGHT AND SLOWING DOWN, THE CAR STALLED WHILE THE CLUTCH WAS FULLY DEPRESSED AND THE CAR WAS IN NEUTRAL. THE THREE EXAMPLES MENTIONED ABOVE OF THE CAR STALLING, ALL HAPPENED ON THE EXACT SAME DAY THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW WITH ABOUT 33 MILES ON IT. THE THREE STALLING INCIDENTS ALL HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR REACHED ABOUT 50-60 MILES.
THE ISSUE PRESENTS ITSELF SLOWING DOWN TO A STOP, WHERE THE ENGINE WILL SOFT STALL AND REQUIRE RESTARTING. THIS OCCURS WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS IN GEAR WITH THE CLUTCH DEPRESSED AND ALSO WHEN THE THE TRANSMISSION IS IN NEUTRAL.
THE CAR IS RANDOMLY STALLING WHEN COMING TO A STOP. IT HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES SO FAR SINCE TAKING DELIVERY OF THE VEHICLE ON 5/24. EACH TIME SO FAR IT HAS HAPPENED IN PARKING LOTS, IT IS SO SUBTLE ITS LIKE THE AUTO START/STOP TECHNOLOGY SOME CARS HAVE ALTHOUGH THIS ONE IS NOT EQUIPPED WITH THAT. EACH TIME I HAD THE CLUTCH FULLY DEPRESSED WHILE THE CAR WAS IN NEUTRAL.
THE CAR KEEPS SHUTTING OFF WHEN COMING TO A STOP
THE CAR WILL RANDOMLY STALL WHEN COMING TO A STOP. AS OF 5/23, THE CAR HAS 1,030 MILES ON IT. IT HAPPENED A FEW TIMES AT ABOUT 400-500 MILES AND THEN IT WENT AWAY, BUT RECENTLY IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING A FEW TIMES A DAY. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY WHILE COMING TO A STOP EITHER ALREADY IN NEUTRAL, AND IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHILE ROLLING TO A STOP WITH THE CLUTCH DEPRESSED. IT IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL STALL, THERE IS NO JERKINESS AND THE ENGINE JUST SILENTLY SHUTS DOWN. WOULD BE HARD TO NOTICE IF EYES ARE NOT ON THE RPM, IT JUST DIES AND HITS 0 RPM.
MY 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION GTI SE STALLS AFTER I COME TO A STOP WHEN THE CLUTCH IS DEPRESSED TO THE FLOOR. IT HAS HAPPENED ~8 TIMES SINCE OWNING THE VEHICLE (FOR 3 WEEKS). THERE ARE 650 MILES ON THE CAR.
VEHICLE STALLS WHEN COMING TO A STOP. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES IN THE PAST 5 DAYS. I HAVE A 2019 VOLKSWAGEN GTI RABBIT EDITION WITH A 6 SPEED MANUAL THAT WAS MANUFACTURED 12/18. WHEN I ROLL TO A STOP IN NEUTRAL, THE CAR HAS STALLED. TODAY WAS THE FIRST TIME IT STALLED WHILE BEING IN 1ST GEAR WITH THE CLUTCH ALL THE WAY DOWN AND COMING TO A STOP. ONCE I AM COMPLETELY STOPPED, THE ENGINE STALLS. THERE IS NO SHUTTERING, THE ENGINE JUST TURNS OFF.
STALLS AT LOW SPEEDS, E.G. COMING TO A STOP WITH CLUTCH PEDAL DEPRESSED. HAS HAPPENED 3X (SO FAR) IN THE FIRST 800 MILES OF DRIVING. CAR IS A 6MT. CAR HAS 900 MILES ON IT AS OF 5/24/2019.
WHETHER THE CAR IS IN GEAR OR NOT THE VEHICLE WILL STALL OUT. WHEN VEHICLE IS IN GEAR AND CLUTCH IS FULLY DEPRESSED THE VEHICLE WILL STALL. DOES NOT MATTER IF IT IS 1ST GEAR OR REVERSE THE SAME WILL HAPPEN.
WHILE COMING TO A STOP IN A 2019 GTI SE MANUAL TRANSMISSION WITH EXPERIENCE PACKAGE IN SPORT MODE (WITH < 100 MILES ON ODOMETER) THE CAR STALLED WHILE HAVING THE CLUTCH FULLY DEPRESSED. THE CAR ALSO STALLED WHILE SITTING AT A GREEN LIGHT WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN, WITH THE CLUTCH FULLY DEPRESSED AND THE TRANSMISSION IN FIRST GEAR.
DURING PRE-PURCHASE TEST DRIVE OF VEHICLE (2019 GTI RABBIT EDITION, MANUAL WITH ~10 MILES ON ODOMETER), THE VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY STALLED AS I WAS COMING TO A STOP. I WAS APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES INTO THE TEST DRIVE. CLUTCH WAS OUT, VEHICLE WAS IN NEUTRAL, CAR WAS STOPPED. CAR HAD TO BE RESTARTED. I DID NOT PURCHASE THAT CAR BUT THEY ARE STILL TRYING TO SELL IT AS NEW. I HAD 2 WITNESSES PRESENT. THIS WAS THE 2RD BRAND NEW 2019 GTI I HAVE TESTED THAT UNEXPECTEDLY STALLS LIKE THIS.

I WAS APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES INTO THE TEST DRIVE. CLUTCH WAS IN, VEHICLE WAS IN FIRST GEAR, SPEED WAS LESS THAN 1MPH. CAR HAD TO BE RESTARTED. I DID NOT PURCHASE THAT CAR BUT THEY ARE STILL TRYING TO SELL IT AS NEW. I HAD 2 WITNESSES PRESENT. THIS WAS THE 3RD BRAND NEW 2019 GTI I HAVE TESTED THAT UNEXPECTED STALLS LIKE THIS.
CAR STALLS WHEN COMING TO A STOP WITH FOOT IN CLUTCH. ALSO, IF YOU SHIFT FROM NEUTRAL TO FIRST, STILL WITH FOOT IN CLUTCH FULLY, IT WILL SOMETIMES STALL. THE RANDOM STALLING IS NOT CAUSE BY THE USER BECAUSE THE CLUTCH IS 100% DEPRESSED, YET THE CAR STILL SILENTLY STALLS. ALONG WITH THIS, THE SHIFT INDICATOR IS NOT ALWAYS ACCURATE, SOMETIMES I MAY BE IN 3RD, YET IT DISPLAYS THAT I AM IN 4TH.
MY VEHICLE STALLS AT IDLE FOR NO REASON. I HAVE TO RESTART MY ENGINE OVER AND OVER WHEN COMING TO A STOP. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE OFTEN WHEN ENGINE IS WARMED UP. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE IF YOU STALL WHILE WAITING TO TURN LEFT THROUGH TRAFFIC.
RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2019 GTI BRAND NEW WITH 16 MILES. LEFT THE DEALER AND WITHIN 5 MILES MY CAR SUDDENLY STALLED WHILE PULLING UP TO A RED LIGHT. THOUGHT IT WAS DUE TO USER ERROR. CONTINUED TO DRIVE AND HAD 6 MORE STALLS WITHIN 16 MILES. RETURNED TO DEALER SERVICE CENTER. I WAS MADE TO FEEL LIKE IT WAS A DRIVER PROBLEM. I LEFT THE CAR AND WAS CALLED THE NEXT DAY THAT THE TECH COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. I REFUSED TO LEAVE THE DEALER BECAUSE I KNEW THIS WAS A REAL ISSUE. I INSISTED THAT THE TECH COME OUT DRIVING WITH ME. DROVE FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES AND AT THE LIGHT BEFORE GETTING BACK TO THE DEALER IT HAPPENED! CAR WAS LEFT IN THE SHOP FOR 6 MORE DAYS WHILE THEY FIXED THE ISSUE. RECEIVED THE CAR BACK A WEEK LATER AND WAS TOLD THEY CALLED VW AND WERE GIVEN A FIX. APPARENTLY THERE WAS DEBRIS FROM THE MANUFACTURING PLANT ON A SENSOR AND THAT WAS CAUSING IT. REPLACED THE SENSOR AND EVERYTHING WAS BACK TO NORMAL..... FOR A WEEK AND A HALF. THIS MORNING I WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. 3 TIMES IN A MATTER OF 10 MINUTES IN FACT. TOOK THE CAR STRAIGHT BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS ONCE AGAIN MADE TO FEEL LIKE I WAS DOING SOMETHING WRONG. ONCE AGAIN HAD TO GO TEST DRIVE THE CAR WITH A TECH. LUCKY THIS IS A REAL ISSUE AND IT HAPPENED WITH THE TECH VIDEO RECORDING THE EVENT. WAS TOLD THAT HE NEEDS TO CALL VW AND FIGURE OUT THE NEXT STEPS. AT SOME POINT A FIX IS NEEDED OR I NEED TO FIGURE OUT THE NEXT STEPS. LUCKILY IT HAS ONLY HAPPENED AT LOW SPEEDS. I'M SINCERELY HOPING FOR A FIX SHORTLY. *TR
ON 4/12/19, WE PURCHASED A NEW 2019 URANO GRAY GTI RABBIT EDITION MANUAL TRANSMISSION FROM A VW DEALERSHIP WITH 36 MILES. ON 5/14/19, AT 732 MILES THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT ON A MAJOR STREET WITH THE CAR IN NEUTRAL. AT THE NEXT RED LIGHT THE CAR STALLED WHILE STOPPING IN NEUTRAL. THE CAR STALLED ABOUT SIX TIMES WHILE TRYING TO RESTART IT AT THE RED LIGHT - THE CAR WAS IN NEUTRAL WITH THE CLUTCH DOWN. I CALLED TO NOTIFY A VW DEALER SERVICE ADVISOR AND WAS ADVISED TO CHECK THE OIL LEVEL (IT WAS FULL). ON 5/27/19, AT 965 MILES THE CAR STALLED WHILE IN FIRST GEAR WITH THE CLUTCH DOWN AT A STOP SIGN. WE THEN TOOK A VIDEO OF THE VEHICLE STALLING AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE WITH THE CLUTCH TO THE FLOOR. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE CAR STALLED TWICE ON THE WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP WHILE THE CLUTCH WAS DOWN AT A RED LIGHT. THIS IS A SERIOUS VEHICLE SAFETY ISSUE AS A STALLED VEHICLE CAN BE REAR ENDED CAUSING SERIOUS BODILY INJURY OR DEATH!
CAR IS AT 3500 MILES, BOUGHT NEW FROM DEALER. CAR IS MANUAL TRANSMISSION. CAR HAS BEEN FINE UNTIL 5/11/19. WHILE STUCK IN HIGHWAY TRAFFIC, THE CAR STALLED WITH THE CLUTCH DEPRESSED. 10 MINUTES AFTER THE INCIDENT, THIS TIME OFF THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR STALLED WITH THE CLUTCH DEPRESSED AGAIN WHEN I WAS STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN. IN CASE #1) I WAS IN 1ST GEAR. THE STALL WAS VERY SMOOTH AND NOT NOTICED BY PASSENGERS (I NOTICED IT DUE TO TACHOMETER FALLING TO 0). THE CLUTCH WAS %100 DEPRESSED #2) I WAS IN 3RD OR 4TH GEARS. I WAS SLOWING DOWN FOR A STOP SIGN. WHEN I CAME TO A STOP, THE CAR STALLED. I WAS ALERT DUE TO THE FIRST INCIDENT AND MADE SURE TO TAKE NOTE OF WHAT HAPPENED. THE CLUTCH WAS ONCE AGAIN DEPRESSED. IN BOTH CASES, THE CAR STALLED AND LEFT ME WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE OR STEER. LUCKILY THE PROBLEM HAPPENED WHILE STOPPING AND NOT AT HIGH SPEEDS.
UPON COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP WITH THE CLUTCH FIRMLY AND COMPLETELY PRESSED, THE ENGINE THEN STALLS. THIS OCCURS ONLY AFTER DRIVING ON REGULAR STREETS STOP AND GO FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES. IT WILL THEN STALL AT COMPLETE STOPS INFREQUENTLY AND IT OCCURS PROBABLY ABOUT 5 TIMES EVERY 15 MINUTES. THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERY TIME I HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR SINCE I PICKED IT UP BRAND NEW ON 5/11/19. IT IS NOW BACK IN THE SHOP FOR THEM TO FIX IT FOR A SECOND TIME.
VEHICLE WILL SPONTANEOUSLY TURN OFF ENGINE OR STALL WHILE DECELERATING FROM SPEEDS OF APPROXIMATELY LESS THAN 20 MPH. CAR WILL STALL WITH CLUTCH DEPRESSED OR NOT, STEERING WHEEL LOSES POWER ASSIST, AND CAR NEEDS TO BE RESTARTED. ENGINE SHUT OFF OCCURS WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND HAS OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 5 TIMES IN FIRST 800 MILES OF OWNERSHIP.
WHILE COMMUTING IN STOP-AND-GO MORNING TRAFFIC, MY CAR STALLED TWICE ON THE HIGHWAY. IN BOTH INSTANCES I WAS SLOWING DOWN AND MOVING THE STICK SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL.
WHEN COMING TO A STOP CLUTCH PEDAL IS DOWN AND BRAKE IS APPLIED. VEHICLE STALLS AS IT COMES TO A STOP. AFTER A 15 MILE DRIVE, FIRST FREEWAY AND THEN STOP AND GO STREETS. HAPPENED THE SECOND TIME AFTER PUTTING VEHICLE INTO REVERSE AND CLUTCH WAS STILL PRESSED IN TO BACK UP MY DRIVEWAY.
6MT MODEL WITH ABOUT 600 MILES. CAR UNEXPECTEDLY STALLS AT SLOW SPEED WITH CLUTCH FULLY DEPRESSED IN CITY DRIVING WHILE TURNING. STALLS QUIETLY AND WITHOUT REASON. SEEMS TO E A COMMON ISSUE AMONG 2019 MODELS.
VEHICLE STALLS INTERMITTENTLY WHEN COMING TO A STOP. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.
I WAS FULLY STOPPED AT A MAJOR INTERSECTION DURING RUSH HOUR IN LOS ANGELES (SANTA MONICA BLVD AND SEPULVEDA). THE AUTO STOP/START FEATURED WAS ON, SO MY ENGINE HAD FLIPPED OFF. WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE THE ENGINE IS SUPPOSED TO RE-ENGAGE, BUT INSTEAD MY CAR STALLED (RESULTING IN THE VERY UPSET BMW DRIVER BEHIND ME NEARLY PLOWING INTO MY CAR) AND WON'T MOVE. THE EPK LIGHT AND SOME WARNING POPPED UP ON THE SCREEN, BUT I WAS TOO DISTRACTED BY NOT GETTING KILLED THAT I DIDN'T CATCH WHAT IT SAID. I HAD TO TURN MY CAR FULLY OFF AND THEN BACK ON AGAIN TO GET MY ENGINE TO RESTART. I THEN TOOK MY CAR TO THE VW DEALER IN SANTA MONICA. THEY TOOK NEARLY TWO WEEKS AND 150 MILES OF TEST DRIVES TO TRY TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE BUT COULDN'T SO THEY REPLACED THE STARTER. MY EPK LIGHT STILL REGULARLY COMES ON WHEN I START MY CAR, AND I THEN HAVE TO TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN TO GET MY CAR TO START, AND OFF HESITATES FLIPPING OVER IN THE AUTO STOP/START STATES. PLEASE NOTE I AM THE FIRST OWNER OF MY CAR, AND I HAD ONLY HAD MY CAR FOR ABOUT 6 WEEKS AT THE TIME OF THIS INCIDENT.
ENGINE STALLS AT LOW SPEEDS WITH THE CLUTCH IN (URANO GREY 6-SPEED MANUAL). SOMETIMES THE ENGINE DIES QUICK AND CLEAN, SOMETIMES SPUTTERS/FLUTTERS AND THEN DIES. CAR NEEDS TO BE RESTATED IN TRAFFIC - DANGEROUS! HAPPENS PRETTY RARELY, BUT HAPPENED 4 TIMES WITHIN CITY-ISH 50 MILES, SO CERTAINLY A CONCERN! NEW CAR HAS LESS THAN 400 MILES ON IT.
VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY STALLS WHILE STATIONARY IN FIRST GEAR, CLUTCH FULLY DEPRESSED. CAR WILL IDLE ROUGH THAN STALL. VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY STALLS WHEN APPROACHING A STOP IN FIRST GEAR. SOMETIMES STALLS QUIETLY, LIKE THE CAR TURNED OFF. HAD THE CAR A WEEK AND HAPPENED ABOUT 10+ TIMES. DEALER TOLD ME CAN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM, NOTHING TO FIX. CALLED VW CORPORATE TO LET THEM KNOW.
THE CAR HAS A SIX SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND OCCASIONALLY STALLS WITH THE CLUTCH FULLY DEPRESSED, THE TRANSMISSION IN GEAR, AND VEHICLE SPEED BELOW 5MPH, FOR INSTANCE WHEN APPROACHING A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. PRESSING THE CAR'S START BUTTON UPON REACHING A FULL STOP RE-STARTS THE CAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN A DOZEN TIMES OVER THE PAST TWO WEEKS.
VEHICLE DIED WHEN STOPPING AT RED LIGHT IN EVENING RUSH HOUR. THERE WAS NO SHUTTER WITH THE ENGINE SHUTOFF. DID NOT NOTICE ENGINE WAS OFF AND WHEN ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE FROM A STAND STILL, I NOTICED THE VEHICLE WAS OFF. THIS HAPPENED HALF A MILE LATER AT AN ADDITIONAL STOP LIGHT. THERE WERE NO WARNING OR LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD.
WHILE COMING TO A STOP WITH THE CLUTCH DEPRESSED THE ENGINE CUTS OUT. THE ENGINE HAS ALSO CUT OUT A FEW SECONDS AFTER COMING TO A FULL STOP WITH THE CLUTCH FULLY DEPRESSED. THIS HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES, ALWAYS WHILE BRAKING OR IMMEDIATELY AFTER BRAKING WHILE STATIONARY. I AM ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR MANUALLY AFTER THIS BEHAVIOR. THE CAR IS NEW WITH 250 MILES DRIVEN. THE CAR DOES NOT REGISTER A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR OTHERWISE INDICATE ANY PROBLEM.

2019 GTI RABBIT EDITION, 6M, URANO GREY. I HAVE EXPIERINCING FREQUENT ENGINE STALLS COMING UP TO A STOP, CLUTCH ALL THE WAY DEPRESSED, IN MY 2,000 MILES SINCE BUYING NEW IN FEB. SEEMS LIKE IT COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE IF HAPPENS IN MIDDLE OF BUSY INTERSECTION. THE STALLS NOW ARE HAPPENING MORE FREQUENT. HOPE THIS PROBLEM GETS SORTED SOON BY VW. I AM CONCERNED WHEN COMING TO A STOP UNEXPECTEDLY MY CAR WILL START TO IDLE ROUGH AND THEN STALL. I'M CONCERNED IT WILL HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING AND THAT I COULD BE HIT. CURRENTLY IT HAPPENS AT LOW SPEED WHEN STOPPING AND I CANNOT KEEP THE CAR RUNNING WHEN I START IT UP AGAIN. I AM HAVING TO REV THE ENGINE TO KEEP IT RUNNING AND MOVE OFF THE ROAD. MY CAR HAS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND THE CLUTCH IS FULLY PRESSED DOWN WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I HAVE MORE THAN 3/4 TANK OF GAS WHEN THIS HAPPENED.

CAR SPORADICALLY STALLS AT STOP WHILE CLUTCH IS DEPRESSED. USUALLY IN 1ST GEAR BUT SOMETIMES NEUTRAL OR 2ND. I NOTICE IT MORE WHEN ENGINE SOUND IS SET TO SPORT MODE. USUALLY THE STALL IS SILENT, TWICE THE CAR SLIGHTLY SHUDDERED. DEALER HAS HAD IT FOR A WEEK WITH NO ABILITY TO PREDICTABLY RECREATE. NO CODES/FAULTS ARE THROWN, THUS NO DIAGNOSIS. CAR IS AT WARMED UP OPERATING TEMPERATURE WHEN STALLS OCCUR. STALLS ARE ALWAYS ON CITY STREETS ON A STRAIGHT PATH (I.E. TIRES ARE NOT IN A TURNED POSITION). PURCHASED CAR WITH 12 MILES ON IT, STALL OCCURRED 5 TIMES BETWEEN 20 AND 85 MILES. DEALER SENT ME HOME WITH INSTRUCTION TO COME BACK IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN; CAR STALLED 3 MILES AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND I IMMEDIATELY RETURNED THE CAR TO THEM FOR FURTHER RESEARCH. STILL NO DIAGNOSIS.
BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2019 VW GOLF GTI RABBIT EDITION MANUAL 6-SPEED ON JANUARY 14, 2019 AND HAD IT DIE OUT ALMOST LIKE A "PUTTER" UNTIL THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT TODAY APRIL 17, 2019. HAPPENED WHEN I WAS COMING TO A STOP WITH THE CLUTCH IN AND IN FIRST GEAR. WHEN I RESTARTED THE CAR USING THE PUSH IGNITION I THEN HAD IT DIE ON ME TWICE MORE. LUCKILY THIS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS NEARLY HOME... I WAS ABLE TO FINALLY GET THE CAR STARTED AND REV THE ENGINE JUST ENOUGH TO GET BACK ON MY WAY BUT THEN HAD IT DIE ON ME AGAIN WHEN PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY AT HOME. THE CAR STILL HAS LESS THAN 800 MILES ON IT AND HAS BEEN PROPERLY DRIVEN SINCE TAKEN OFF THE CAR DEALER'S LOT.
COMING TO A STOP, CLUTCH ALL THE WAY IN, THE CAR WILL STALL. IT IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL "JUMPY" DRIVER ERROR STALL, BUT RATHER IT FEELS AS IF THE ENGINE JUST SHUTS DOWN. ITS VERY SUBTLE AND THE ONLY WAY YOU EVEN KNOW ITS HAPPENING IS THAT YOU SEE YOUR RPMS DROP OFF. ALWAYS HAPPENING WHEN COMING TO A STOP. DIFFICULT TO BRING THE PROBLEM TO THE DEALER BECAUSE IT IS DIFFICULT TO REPRODUCE ON COMMAND.
