WHEN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE IT WILL AT TIMES HESITATE AND STUMBLE SEVERELY TO THE POINT WHERE YOU WILL HAVE TO PULL OVER. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR CODES NOTED WHEN SCANNED. PROBLEM STARTED RIGHT AFTER VW TDI EMISSIONS FIXES. VW DEALER CLAIMS NO CONNECTION.
KEY CONSTANTLY GETS STUCK IN IGNITION SWITCH AND CAN'T TURN VEHICLE OFF. VEHICLE REMAINS RUNNING WHILE KEY WONT TURN IN OFF POSITION. HAD TO DISCONNECT BATTERY TERMINAL AND FUEL PUMP FUSE TO SHUT VEHICLE OFF. KEY STILL REMAINS STUCK IN IGNITION SWITCH.
WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IN DRIVE THE KEY CAN BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION. IT HAS BEEN THIS WAY FOR YEARS. A FEW YEARS AGO THE CAR ROLLED BACK INTO A DRIVEWAY WALL CAUSING SOME DAMAGE AFTER DEPARTING THE CAR.
THE DOOR LOCKS/LATCHES FOR VW JETTA WOLFSBURG EDITION 2010 ARE NOT WORKING (CURRENTLY, THREE OUT OF FOUR DOORS/LATCHES ARE NOT WORKING). THE ESTIMATED COST FOR REPLACEMENT IS $595 PER DOOR LATCH (TOTAL ESTIMATED COST: $1,785). WHILE IT MAY POSE A SAFETY RISK, IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE THAT THE SIDE AIRBAGS MAY OR MAY NOT WORK WHEN THERE ARE ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE DOOR LOCKS/LATCHES. THERE IS ALSO A POSSIBILITY FOR THEFT WHEN THE DOOR LOCKS ARE NOT WORKING. ALSO, TURN SIGNALS ON BOTH SIDE-VIEW MIRRORS ARE NOT WORKING. THE ESTIMATED COST FOR REPLACEMENT OF TURN SIGNAL ON EACH SIDE IS $437 (TOTAL ESTIMATED COST: $874). FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF DEFECTIVE DOOR LOCKS/LATCHES (3 OUT OF 4 DOORS) AND TURN SIGNALS ON SIDE-VIEW MIRRORS (BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE), THE ESTIMATED TOTAL COST WILL BE $2,659. ANOTHER IMPORTANT POINT: BETWEEN DECEMBER 2017 AND DECEMBER 2018, THERE WERE SEVERAL PROBLEMS IN THIS CAR (VW JETTA WOLFSBURG EDITION 2010). EXAMPLES OF THESE PROBLEMS WERE CLOCK-SPRING/AIRBAG/ENGINE-LIGHT-ON, BUILD-UP OF CARBON IN ENGINE VALVES, COOLANT AND WATER PUMP LEAKAGE, AND TIMING CHAIN/TENSIONER. DURING THIS ONE-YEAR PERIOD WITH 3 VISITS TO VW DEALERSHIP/SERVICE DEPARTMENT, AN AMOUNT OF OVER $5,000 HAS ALREADY BEEN SPENT. THUS, THERE IS A CONSTANT PROBLEM WITH VW JETTA WOLFSBURG EDITION 2010.
FRONT COIL SPRINGS SNAPPED, FRONT OF VEHICLE DROPPED, DAMAGED TIRE,....SAFETY ISSUE, IMMEDIATELY HAD DEFECTIVE PARTS REPLACED
WHILE WILL DRIVING 70 MPH ON I-96, LEFT FRONT STRUT/COIL/DAMPENER FAILED , THE COIL SPRING BECAME PARTIALLY OFFSET AND SEPARATED LATERALLY FROM THE REMAINING PORTION OF THE COIL. THE PORTION OF THE COIL OFFSET BEGAN RUBBING ON THE FRONT TIRE SIDEWALL. FORTUNATELY, I WAS LOCATED 5-7 MILES FROM HOME AND MY LOCAL VEHICLE REPAIR SHOP. A DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS DEVELOPMENT. SEE ATTACHED IMAGES..
THE KEY IS STUCK IN THE ON POSITION WITH ENGINE RUNNING. HAD TO PULL RELAY TO STOP ENGINE. UNABLE TO REMOVE KEY FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH. DEALER CHARGES $600-$800 TO REPAIR.
MY CAR WAS STATIONARY. I PUT MY KEY INTO THE IGNITION TO START THE CAR AND AT FIRST IT WOULDN'T TURN BUT THEN IT DID AND STARTED. DROVE FROM WORK TO HOME AND THEN PUT THE CAR IN PARK. TRIED TO TURN THE CAR OFF BUT THE KEY WOULD NOT TURN. CAR WAS STUCK ON AND RUNNING.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V913000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 79,000.
2.5 L APPROX. 108,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE DOES A HARD SHIFT FROM 2 TO 3RD GEAR THEN FROM 3RD TO 4TH. ALMOST LIKE A HARD RESISTANCE THEN BUCKS. HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED OR ON THE HIGHWAY.
SECOND FAILURE OF INTAKE MANIFOLD. VW HAS ADMITTED TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT BUT ONLY EXTENDED WARRANTY. HAD THE MANIFOLD REPLACED AT 50,000 MILES ROUGHLY. UNIT FAILED AGAIN AT 150,000 MILES. I DONT BELIEVE THEY ORIGINALLY FIXED THE PROBLEM. VW IS PLACING HIGH COST ON OWNERS TO REPLACE AFTER 120,000 MILES. REPAIR RUNS HIGHER THAN $800.00. FAILURE TO REPLACE THIS PART CAN DEEM THE CAR UNSAFE.
SUDDENLY ONE DAY I SAW ABS BRAKE LIGHT IS ON , I TOOK THE CAR TO AUTHORIZED VOLKSWAGEN DEALER , AND THEY TOLD THAT ABS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THE COST IS AROUND $3000. I SEARCHED IN INTERNET AND SAW VW IS REPLACING SOME DEFECTIVE ABS MODULE , I CONTACTED TO VW, USA AND THEY REFUSED TO DO SO AS MY VIN IS NOT THE CANDIDATE FOR RECALL BUT I SEE IN INTERNET MY MODEL AND MAKE AND YEAR IS THE CANDIDATE FOR RECALL . MY CASE NUMBER WITH VW IS 180087368
THE KEY GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION SWITCH AND IT WON'T TURN ON OR OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE BRAKE LIGHTS AND HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO WORK PROPERLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BULBS WERE REPLACED EVERY TWO MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN LOCAL DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE RADIO STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY, WHICH SEEMS LIKE A COMMON PROBLEM. BUT IN ADDITION THE LIGHTS WERE MALFUNCTIONING FROM THAT POINT ON. 12 DIFFERENT ERROR WARNINGS APPEARED ON THE READOUT ABOUT DIFFERENT LIGHTS NOT WORKING. I CHECKED THE FUSES AND ALL OF THEM WERE OK, NOT BURNED. SEVERAL YEARS AGO I HAD ONE OF THE HEADLIGHTS INTERMITTENTLY NOT WORK. AT THAT POINT I CHECKED THE FUSES AND THERE WAS ONE FUSE THAT HAD A DEFORMED PLASTIC CAP, BUT THE METAL PART WAS STILL IN ONE PIECE. PART OF THE FUSE BOX IT WAS INSERTED IN WAS MELTED. THIS ALL HAPPENED WHEN I FIRST STARTED THE CAR. OBVIOUSLY I COULD NOT OPERATE THE CAR SINCE THE BRAKE LIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS, AND HEADLIGHTS WERE ALL AFFECTED. THE DIAGNOSTIC DISPLAY IN THE CAR ALSO SHOWED TO CHECK THE AIRBAGS AND STABILITY CONTROL.

LITHIA AUTO STORE (7063 SOUTH VIRGINIA ST, RENO, NV 89511) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 57,000.
WHILE DRIVING ANYTIME THAT WE WOULD SLOW DOWN OR PUT THE VEHICLE INTO REVERSE THE VEHICLE WOULD GO RANDOMLY IN NEUTRAL. IT WAS RANDOMLY THIS WOULD HAPPEN AND BECAME MORE FREQUENT. TOOK IT TO A DEALER AND THEY SAID WE WOULD HAVE TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED SOON. RIGHT BEFORE THIS THEIR WERE ABOUT ANOTHER $3,000 WORTH OF ISSUES WE HAD TO FIX.
NOT ABLE TO TURN KEY IN THE IGNITION. SOMETIMES NOT ABLE TO START CAR. SOMETIMES NOT ABLE TO TURN CAR OFF.
I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE BLINKERS, EMERGENCY FLASHERS, SUNROOF AND DOOR LOCKS COMING ON, NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND ADJUSTING ALL ON THEIR OWN. NOW MY RADIO IS NOT WORKING AT ALL. THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON ANY OF THIS ONLY WARRANTY EXTENSION IS ON THE SECONDARY AIR SENSOR. MOST HAPPENS VEHICLE IS ON OR OFF. PARKED OR RUNNING.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.

THE LIGHTS ARE ALL CROSSED. THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL IS WEAKER ON THE DRIVER MIRROR. THE OVERHEAD LIGHTS SEEMED TO BE CROSSED. YOU TURN ONE OFF AND THE PASSENGER LIGHTS IN BACK COME ON. THE BLUETOOTH STOPPED WORKING. IT IS LIKE IT HAS A SHIRT IN IT. THIS IS WHILE DRIVING AS WELL AS STATIONARY IN CAR PORT.
TAKATA RECALL. I WAS IN THE MOUNTAINS OF NC CAMPING. MY JETTA WAS WORKING PERFECTLY FINE. I WENT TO START IT THE NEXT DAY AND THE RADIO WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. THE JETTA IS NOT VERY OLD. ALSO, THE BACK LEFT BREAK LIGHT AND FRONT RIGHT HEADLIGHT WAS NOT WORKING. THE BREAKLIGHT AND THE HEADLIGHT STARTED WORKING AS I WAS DRIVING IT, BUT THE STEREO HAS BEEN DEAD FOR ALMOST A WEEK NOW. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. I DID A SEARCH ONLINE AND HUNDREDS OF OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM WITH THEIR RADIO IN THE SAME YEAR JETTA AS MINE. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING AND I WISH VOLKSWAGEN WOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM AS IT IS PRETTY COMMON.
TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. GOT CAR CHECKED AND NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION AND TRANSMISSION MODULE. DID RESEARCH OF THIS MODEL AND MODEL YEAR AND IT'S AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION IN THIS CAR. IF THIS ISSUE ISN'T TAKEN CARE OF IT WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE SERIOUS BODILY INJURY OR DEATH. HOW MANY LIVES NEED TO BE IN JEOPARDY IN ORDER FOR THIS TO BE RESOLVED. MY KIDS ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO ME AND I WANT THEM TO BE AS SAFE AS POSSIBLE. WHY DRIVE SOMETHING THAT'S NOT SAFE FOR ME OR MY KIDS.
ABS WARNING LIGHT ON, TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ON AND BRAKE LIGHT FLASHING NHTSA RECALL BULLETIN # 16V913000 BRAKE ARE ACTING SPORADIC, PULSATING WHEN TRYING TO STOP. CITY DRIVING DOES NOT FELL SAFE. VW SAYS MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED AND IT IS THE EXACT MODEL IN THE BULLETIN REFERENCED ABOVE.
VEHICLE STALLS WHILE IN MOTION ON A STATE HIGHWAY BUT COASTING TO A STOP AT A TRAFFIC SIGNAL. CLUTCH PEDAL WAS FULLY DEPRESSED. HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 5 TIMES BETWEEN JULY 1, 2017 AND AUGUST 29, 2017. THIS VEHICLE IS A DIESEL. FUEL PUMP MIGHT BE LOOSING POWER. WEATHER WAS DRY. AIR AND FUEL FILTERS ARE NOT DIRTY. THEY WERE RECENTLY REPLACED.
OCCASIONALLY THE CAR WILL STALL AND SURGE CREATING A JOLT AT VARIABLE SPEEDS BUT ALWAYS WHILE IN MOTION. USUALLY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM IDLE BUT SOMETIMES DURING HIGHWAY DRIVING.

THE RADIO/BLUETOOTH/CD PLAYER COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING WHEN THE IGNITION TURNED ON. IT HAD WORKED THE PREVIOUS DAY. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC. IT IS NOT THE FUSE. IT NEEDS A COMPLETE NEW RADIO SYSTEM. I CALLED THE DEALER, BUT IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE TOTAL WOULD BE $800+. AFTER CHECKING ON LINE, I FIND THAT THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME SUBJECT.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY AROUND 9 OR 10AM IT WAS CLEAR AND SUNNY. TRAFFIC WAS MODERATE I WAS GOING ABOUT 45MPH. THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME SLAMMED ON THERE BRAKES AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I WAS AT LEAST 3 OR 4 MAYBE MORE CAR LENGTHS BEHIND THEM WHEN I SAW THEM BRAKE. I WASN'T WORRIED ABOUT STOPPING AS I HAD PLENTY OF ROOM BUT WHEN I WENT TO SLOW DOWN I ENDED UP PUSHING MY BREAK PEDDLE ALL THE WAY DOWN COMPLETELY DOWN TO THE FLOOR, YET I WAS NOT BRAKING THAN AS I GOT CLOSER I TRIED TO SWERVE TO THE LEFT TO THE SHOULDER BECAUSE W WERE ON THE FAR LEFT INSIDE PANE THE CARPOOL LANE. WHEN I TRIED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL I SEEMED TO BE LOCKED I THEN TRIED TO TURN TO THE RIGHT AND AGAIN I WAS LOCKED. SO I BRACED FOR IMPACT BECAUSE MY BREAKS WERE NOT BRAKING AND I COULD NOT TURN M STEERING WHEEL TO AVOID THE ACCIDENT AND I ENDED UP SPAMMING INTO THE BACK OF THERE SUV GOING ROUGHLY 45MPH. MY SPEED NEVER SLOWED ANY. MY CAR WAS TOTALLED SPILLING RADIATOR FLUID ALL OVER THE ROADWAY. HE TO BE TOWED . I WAS ESSENTIALLY RENDERED HOPELESS UNABLE TO SLOW DOWN OR STOP AND UNABLE TO SWERVE NEITHER DIRECTION SO I OUL AT LEAST AVAPID HITTING THE CAR ON FONT OF ME. I WAS UNABLE TO AVOID THIS ACCIDENT THAT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN EVEN THINKABLE HAD THE BRAKES NO LOCKED AND THE STEERING WHEEL NOT LOCKED. I WAS GIVEN A TICKET FOR REARENDING THEM. I A FEW MONTHS LATER DID A SEARCH AND FOUND THAT THIS JETTA HAD A RECALL STATING THE ABS SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS YET I NEVER RECEIVED NOTICE . I TODAY CHECKED VIN NUMBER AND NOW IT STATES NO RECALL. PLEASE HELP. THIS ACCIDENT UAS CAUSED ME LOTS OF ISSUES. EVEN TODAY I STILL AM WITHOUT A VEHICLE ALMOST 1YR LATER. I DO NO HAVE PICTURES OR REPORTS TO UPLOAD BUT A STATE PATROL OFFICER DID DO A COLLISION REPORT YJAT IS AVAILABLE. I JUST DONT HAVE THE MONEY FOR A COPY.
"KEY GETS STUCK IN IGNITION AND I CANNOT TURN OFF THE ENGINE." I GOT HOME FROM RUNNING ERRANDS. PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND COULD NOT TURN CAR OFF. KEY WAS STUCK
DRIVING ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY FOR GREATER THAN 30 MINUTES, THERE WAS ONSET OF STRONG RAIN CONDITIONS AT ABOUT 30 MINUTES OF DRIVING TIME -- THE EPC LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE WAS LOST. SYMPTOMS OF DOWNSHIFTING WERE NOTED JUST PRIOR TO ONSET OF ISSUE. DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR RESULTED IN RPM INCREASE WITH NO ACCELERATION IN RELATIVELY FAST TRAFFIC (>50MPH). WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF SAFELY AND SHUT VEHICLE OFF. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION IN HIGH SPEED/STRONG RAIN CONDITIONS. EPC LIGHT TURNED OFF AFTER SHUTOFF AND RE-START, AND I ASSUMED A SLIP ON WET SURFACE. RESTARTED AND ATTEMPTED TO REJOIN TRAFFIC. TRAVELED LESS THAN 50 FEET AND EPC LIGHT RE-LIT WITH NO SLIP, FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY BY LIGHTING OF THE 'CHECK ENGINE' LIGHT. SAME LACK OF ACCELERATION AND INCREASED RPM WITH DEPRESSING THROTTLE PEDAL WAS NOTED. TURNED OFF ENGINE ON SHOULDER AGAIN AND RESTARTED AFTER FIVE MINUTE PERIOD IN ATTEMPT TO GET HOME AND WAS ABLE TO VERY CAREFULLY/SLOWLY MERGE BACK INTO TRAFFIC WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND EPC LIGHT LIT FOR ENTIRETY OF TRIP HOME (>50 MILES). VEHICLE DROVE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROXIMATELY 50 MILES WITHOUT SYMPTOMS ONSET. VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS APPROXIMATELY 50K MILES AND IS DRIVEN ONCE EVERY WEEK OR TWO WEEKS. ALL SERVICE IS PERFORMED REGULARLY. I RESEARCHED THIS SYMPTOM SET ONLINE, ONLY TO FIND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS SIMILAR TO MINE ACROSS THE SPECTRUM OF VW MODELS INDICATING NO PRECISE DIAGNOSIS RELATIVE TO THESE SYMPTOMS COINCIDING WITH THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF REPAIRS IN ATTEMPT TO RECONCILE. I DO NOT CARE TO SPEND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ATTEMPTING TO REPAIR AN ISSUE THAT CANNOT BE IDENTIFIED USING A 'TRIAL AND ERROR' METHOD ON A VEHICLE THAT KBB VALUES AT LESS THAN 5K. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REVERSE THE VEHICLE, THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO OPERATE AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VORDERMAN VOLKSWAGEN (LOCATED AT 5811 CROSS CREEK BLVD, FORT WAYNE, IN 46818 (260) 489-7900) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT OFFER ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE KEY FOB AND MANUAL KEYS WERE ONLY LOCKING THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND NOT THE OTHER DOORS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE BOMMARITO VOLKSWAGEN DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LATCHES FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR FEES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,950.
WE HAVE BEEN VICTIMS OF THE WELL KNOWN LONG STANDING IGNITION KEY STUCK ISSUE ON THESE VEHICLES. SHE STALLED THE CAR IN THE INTERSECTION THEN TRIED TO RESTART BUT THE KEY WAS STUCK. FORTUNATELY A COUPLE NICE GUYS HELPED HER PUSH IT OFF THE ROAD AND I WAS LATER ABLE TO GET THE KEY TO TURN AND GET THE CAR HOME. WHEN I GOT THE CAR HOME IT TOOK ME NEARLY 30 MINUTES TO TURN THE CAR OFF. VW HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR SOME TIME BUT THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT. SO I'M SPENDING YET ANOTHER WEEKEND FIXING THIS PIECE OF JUNK. GERMAN ENGINEERING IS JUST ANOTHER WAY TO SAY COLLECTION OF STUPID IDEAS. FOR EXAMPLE THEY TWIST THE HEADS OFF THE BOLTS THAT HOLD THE PROBLEMATIC SWITCH IN DURING MANUFACTURE. NO I'M NOT KIDDING FOLKS.
MY KEY HAS BEEN DIFFICULT TO TURN IN THE IGNITION TO START THE CAR RECENTLY. YESTERDAY I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM BUT THE CAR STARTED. AFTER DRIVING THE CAR THE KEY WOULD NOT TURN TO TURN OFF THE CAR. NO MATTER WHAT I CAN NOT GET THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION. I ONLY GOT THE MOTOR TO SHUT OFF BECAUSE MY SON KNEW TO PULL A FUSE AND THEN TAKE OFF A BATTERY CABLE. THIS IGNITION PROBLEM IS SERIOUS AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE IF YOU CAN'T TURN OFF THE CAR.
WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS INTO NEUTRAL AND THE CAR ROLLS UNPOWERED TO A STOP. IF THE ENGINE IS TURNED OFF AND TRANSMISSION IS SHIFTED TO "PARK" TO RESTART THE ENGINE IT IS THEN IMPOSSIBLE TO SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION OUT OF "PARK" INTO NEUTRAL OR ANY OTHER GEAR. WHENEVER THIS IS HAPPENING VARIOUS WARNING LIGHTS APPEAR ILLUMINATED ON THE WARNING PANEL-EG. "LOW WASHER FLUID" AND "TRACTION CONTROL WARNING." IN TRAFFIC THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND TO GET TO AN "OUTSIDE LANE" MAY BE IMPOSSIBLE. TO LOSE POWER WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP SIGN AND HAVING TO COAST TO A STOP IN THE LANE ONE HAS JUST ENTERED IS VERY DANGEROUS. TWICE WHEN TURNING LEFT WITH A LEFT-TURN GREEN ARROW THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND I ROLLED TO A STOP, SHIFTED TO "PARK" TO RESTART THE ENGINE ONLY TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION "LOCK-UP" IN "PARK" WITH ME UNABLE TO PHYSICALLY GET THE SELECTOR LEVER INTO "DRIVE." THIS CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED AT VW EVERY 10,000 MILES SINCE NEW AND AT 104,000 MILES I AM TOLD IT MAY NEED A NEW $7,000.00 TRANSMISSION. ON-LINE I SEE THAT THE "DSG TRANSMISSION " HAS BEEN RECALLED TWICE FROM 2006 TO 2016 FOR "SLIPPING INTO NEUTRAL." HOWEVER, VW CLAIMS THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR MY VEHICLE AND WHEN I DO A NTSC VIN SEARCH I FIND NO SUCH PROBLEM LISTED. MY NEAREST VW SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS 45 MILES AWAY VIA INTERSTATE AND CITY DRIVING AND I AM AFRAID TO ATTEMPT DRIVING THERE FOR A DIAGNOSIS. LOCAL TRANSMISSION SHOPS ARE UNABLE TO SERVICE OR EVEN DIAGNOSE OR MEASURE THE FLUID LEVEL IN THE VW PROPRIETARY SEALED-UNIT.
ENGINE OF MY CAR CAUGHT FIRE AFTER A SHORT DRIVE, LUCKILY MY DAUGHTER WAS ABLE TO PULL IT ON OUR DRIVE WAY AND MOVE AWAY SAFELY BEFORE ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE. WE HAD TO CALL FIRE DEPARTMENT TO PUT OFF THE FIRE.
AS WITH MOST OTHER 2010 VW JETTA OWNERS, MY PREMIUM 8 TOUCH SCREEN RADIO (SN: VWZ4Z7J3024044) STOPPED WORKING, NO WARNING OR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. I HAVE BEEN TAKING A GREAT CARE OF MY JETTA WHICH HAS VERY LOW MILES (33K) AND I NEVER HAVE HAD A RADIO FAIL IN ANY MY PREVIOUS CARS, ONE OF THEM WAS ALSO A VW CAR. MY LOCAL VW DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE ME $600 FOR A REFURBISHED RADIO PLUS $70 FOR THE INSTALLATION. I HAVE REVIEWED VARIOUS ONLINE FORUMS AND DISCOVERED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE REVISION OF THIS RADIO FOR THE 2010-2011 MODEL YEAR. UNFORTUNATELY VOLKSWAGEN HAS DONE NOTHING TO ISSUE RECALL. THE CAR HAS INTEGRATED HANDS FREE BLUETOOTH WHICH ALSO DOES NOT WORK BECAUSE OF THE RADIO AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR HANDS FREE CALLING REQUIRED IN MY STATE. ALSO, THIS WILL CAUSE A DRAIN ON THE BATTERY WHICH COULD RESULT IN NOT BEING ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE AFTER SITTING TOO LONG.
BRAKES WILL LOCK AT TIMES. PEDAL WILL GO TO FLOOR AT TIMES. RECALL ISSUED FOR OTHER JETTAS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS, WHY NOT MINE?
THE HEADLINER WAS SEPARATING FROM THE INSIDE ROOF OF THE CAR. IT WAS STARTING TO HANG DOWN. ALSO THE INTERIOR DOOR PANEL WAS COMING APART AND STARTING TO DISINTEGRATE. BOTH HAD TO BE REPLACED. VOLKSWAGON SAID OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEY CAN DO,NOTHING DESPITE MULTIPLE ONLINE COMPLAINTS OF SAME ISSUE.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT ON 6/01/2017. THE POLICE ESTIMATED THAT THE CAR THAT HIT ME FROM THE BACK WAS GOING 55MPH. MY AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY...EVEN THOUGH MY CAR WAS TOTALED DUE TO SUFFERING EXTENSIVE FROM END DAMAGE. MY CAR WAS STOPPED AT THE MOMENT OF IMPACT. DUE TO THE FAILURE OF MY AIRBAG MY FACE AND SHOULDER HIT THE STEERING WHEEL CAUSING ME TO LOSE A TOOTH AND CAUSE GREAT DAMAGE TO MY SHOULDER.
IGNITION SYSTEM KEEPS FAILING. CAR KEYS GET STUCK AND CAR WON'T TURN OFF AND HAVING A HARD TIME TUNING THE KEY TO START THE CAR. EACH TIME THE CAR IS PARKED AND THE STEERING LOCK IS DISENGAGED.

DEALERSHIP HAS INVESTIGATED AND FOUND METAL SHARDS FROM FUEL FILTER HAVE MIGRATED THROUGHOUT THE FUEL SYSTEM. COST OF REPAIR $5400. CAR IS PART OF VW BUYBACK PROGRAM. DEALER REFUSED TO BUY BACK VEHICLE WITHOUT REPAIR STATING VEHICLE MUST BE " ABLE TO GET TO DEALERSHIP ON ITS OWN'. I DROVE VEHICLE TO DEALER. DEALER REFUSES TO WORK WITH ME ON BUYBACK. NOW FORCED TO PAY FOR EXPENSIVE REPAIR. DEALER STATE REPAIR " EXPECTED DUE TO HIGH MILEAGE" I HAVE ALWAYS HAD HIGH MILEAGE VEHICLES AND HAVE NEVER BEFORE HAD METAL IN FUEL LINE DUE TO FUEL FILTER FAILURE.
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ON A VERY BUSY INTERSTATE MY 2010 VW JETTA TDI HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON, IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY MY CAR STUTTERING AND SHUTTING OFF IMMEDIATELY. AFTER NEING TOWED TO THE DEALER, I WAS INFORMED THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM HAD TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THIS WAS A MAJOR ISSUES WITH VW DIESELS (ESP. YEARS 2009 & 2010). THE HPFP HAD BECOME SUCH A PROBLEM THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM TO 120K MILES OR 10 YEARS. MY MILEAGE WENT OVER THE ALLOTTED AMOUNT BY 5K MILES BUT AFTER MANY CALLS TO VW CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY REFUSED ANY HELP, THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE $5,000 REPAIR, THE $3,000 IN PARTS OR ANYTHING. THEY REFUSED ANY TYPE OF HELP EVEN THOUGH THEY MOST CERTAINLY COULD HAVE ASSISTED ME. IT IS WELL KNOWN THAT THE FUEL PUMP IS POOR, EVEN THE REPLACEMENT PUMPS HAVE A HUGE FAILURE RATE YET VW DOES NOTHING TO ASSIST THEIR CUSTOMERS. THEY HAVE FAILED TO PRODUCE A HPFP THAT DOES NOT BREAK DOWN AND THEN THEY MAKE IT THE CUSTOMERS FAULT BY NOT RECALLING THE PART. THESE FUEL SYSTEMS SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED AS A RECALL BEFORE THEY CAUSE THE CAR TO SUDDENLY STOP ON A BUSY INTERSTATE. I AM THANKFUL THAT I WAS NOT INJURED BUT I AM FURIOUS THAT I AM JUST ONE OF MANY THAT HAVE WENT THROUGH THIS AND BEEN OFFERED NO HELP. WE ARE LEFT TO PAY THE PRICE, ONE THAT RUNS ANYWHERE FROM $5,000-$9,000. THAT IS AN UNACCEPTABLE REPAIR COST TO A VEHICLE WITH UNDER 125K MILES, AND IT HAPPENS AS SOON AS 6K. THE ENGINEERS AT VW SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR POOR DESIGN, INABILITY TO CORRECT IT AND ABANDONMENT OF THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS. VW HAS SHOWN A COMPLETE DISREGARD FOR HUMAN LIFE BY FAILING TO PROPERLY ADDRESS THIS ISSUE.
PASSAGE SIDE HIGH AND LOW BEAM , DRIVERSIDE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT, DRIVERSIDE REAR TAIL LIGHT, REVERSE LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHTS ALL STOPPED WORKING CHANGED ALL BULBS STILL DIDN'T WORK PULLED F16 FUSE FUSE IS BURNT AND MELTED THE FUSE PORT. VW STATED IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED EVEN THOU IT WAS RECALLED FOR THE 2009 SAME MAKE AND MODEL. CALLED VW CARE AND EXPLAINED MY VEHICLES BUILD DATE STATED 12.09 MEXICO REFUSED TO COVER IT UNDER RECALL. EXPLAIN THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO OPERATE.

A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE BODY SHOP AT AN INDEPENDENT DEALER AND DEEMED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
