DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS FAIL TO LOCK CAR DOORS. HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 3 DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS ON A 2012 VW PASSAT OVER APPROXIMATELY 4 YEARS. THERE IS NO OPTION TO LOCK THE DOOR WITH A KEY OR MANUALLY FROM WITHIN CAR. THE DOOR DOES NOT LOCK WHEN USING KEY FOB OR LOCK SWITCH. THE CAR ALARM DOES NOT GO OFF WHEN DOOR IS OPENED AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN LOCKED WITH FOB. WHEN DRIVING THE CAR, AFTER EVERY STOP, THE DOORS TRY TO LOCK AGAIN WHEN CAR MOVES. SAFETY ISSUE THAT DOOR IS NOT LOCKED WHEN DRIVING AND ALSO SAFETY ISSUE CANNOT LOCK CAR TO KEEP PEOPLE AND PROPERTY SAFE FROM SOMEONE OUTSIDE..

TAKATA RECALL. THIS RECALL IS DRAGGING ON FOREVER. I CAN'T SELL MY CAR, NOBODY WANTS IT WITH THIS RECALL. MY TEENAGE SON DRIVES IT EVERY DAY AND I'M SCARED TO DEATH THAT HE MIGHT HAVE AN ACCIDENT ONE DAY AND BE KILLED BY THE AIRBAG MEANT TO KEEP HIM SAFE. THEY NEED TO FIX MY CAR OR GIVE ME A NEW ONE TO REPLACE IT!
2012 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO HEAD LAMP CONNECTOR HOUSING SAFETY RECALL. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER TO HAVE THE REPAIR COMPLETED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER DEALER WHO INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT VEHICLE'S HEADLAMP CONNECTOR HOUSINGS WERE NOT UPDATED. UPDATED 09/05/2017*JS
ENGINE COOLANT WAS LEAKING INTO THE INTERCOOLER
TAKATA RECALL, I WENT TO DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS YET, I EVEN OFFERED TO PAY FOR THE PARTS AND THEY DID NOT WANTED TO DO IT. IT IS WEIRD BECAUSE ONE OF THEIR SALESMAN TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE BEEN REPLACING A LOT OF AIR BAGS FOR THE CARS THEY HAVE FOR SALE, I THINK THEY ARE GETTING SAFE TO SALE THEIR STOCK FIRST AND NOT FIXING THE CARS THAT HAS BEEN ALREADY SOLD.
KEY GETS STUCK IN IGNITION WHEN TURNING OFF THE ENGINE.
ELECTRONIC LOCKS ARE CONSTANTLY TRYING TO RE-LOCK WHEN VEHICLE REACHES ABOUT 10 MPH. FOR EXAMPLE, IF BRINGING VEHICLE TO A STOP AT A STREET LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, THEN PROCEEDING FORWARD, THE LOCKS WILL TRY TO RE-LOCK AGAIN ONCE VEHICLE REACHES ABOUT 10 MPH. IF YOU ARE IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, THIS CAN GO ON LITERALLY HUNDREDS OF TIMES DURING A SINGLE COMMUTE.
"TAKATA RECALL" WHAT TO DO TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM?
I HAVE A 2012 VW PASSAT TDI VEHICLE WITH 78,000 MILES AS OF OCTOBER 124, 2016. IT IS EFFECTED BY THE TDI EMISSIONS ISSUE AND QUALIFIES UNDER THE COURT SETTLEMENT THAT HAS YET TO BE APPROVED. THE ISSUE I HAVE IS THAT I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER ABOUT 1 MONTH AGO BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I WAS TOLD THAT THE AD BLUE HEATER WHICH SCRUBS NOX (ALBEIT NOT VERY WELL) FROM THE EXHAUST NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR $1,100.00. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND CAME TO FIND OUT THAT APPARENTLY THIS HAS HAPPENED HUNDREDS OF TIMES TO TDI OWNERS ESPECIALLY 2012 MODELS. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THE FAILURE IS A FUNCTION OF TIME NOT MILEAGE AND HAS BEEN CORRECTED IN NEWER MODELS. IT IS IRONIC THAT EVEN AFTER PAYING THE $1,100 MY CAR IS STILL OUT OF EMISSIONS COMPLIANCE! I REQUEST THAT VW BE FORCED TO DO A RECALL AND REIMBURSE OWNERS REGARDLESS OF THE VEHICLES MILEAGE FOR THIS REPAIR.
FIRST THE GLOW PLUGS WERE BAD. WITHIN THE SAME YEAR I HAD AN ISSUE WITH DIESEL PARTICULATES AND NOW THE ADBLUE HEATING ELEMENT!!! ALL ISSUES OCCURRED WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION, LITERALLY FELT MY LIFE WAS IN JEOPARDY. HOWEVER AFTER HAVING TO COME OUT THE POCKET WITH NOW THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS I FEEL LIKE THE COMPANY IS RAPING ME!!!
TAKATA RECALL OUR VW DEALER (SANTA MONICA VW) IS SAYING THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THE RECALL NOTICE. WE FIRST WENT INTO THE DEALER APP. 4-5 MONTHS AGO WHEN THE RECALL NOTICE CAME OUT. THE NHTSA WEB SITE SAYS WHAT THE FIX IS-WHY CAN'T THEY FIX THIS PROBLEM? I HAVE A TEENAGER THAT DRIVES THE CAR WHO, BY VIRTUE OF BEING A TEENAGER, HAS A HIGHER LIKELIHOOD OF BEING IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE A NON-FUNCTIONING AIRBAG COULD BE CATASTROPHIC. PLEASE ADVISE HOW WE CAN GET THIS REPAIRED. LIKEWISE, MY 82-YEAR OLD MOTHER-IN-LAW ([XXX]) HAS A 2012 VW CC WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. MECHANIC FOUND A CODE FOR A DEFECTIVE ADBLUE LEVEL SENSOR AFTER I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO CHECK THE REASON FOR THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATION. THEY REMOVED THE ADBLUE TANK AND INSTALLED AN UPDATE KIT. YES, UPDATE KIT, WHICH TELLS ME VOLKSWAGEN KNOWS THERE IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THE ORIGINAL LEVEL SENSOR EQUIPMENT. FINAL COST OF THE REPAIR: $1053.51. THIS SHOULD BE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ITEM, OR RECALL.
AFTER THE NOX SENSOR WENT IN THIS CAR EXACTLY A MONTH TO THE DAY LATER THE ADBLUE HEATER IS SHOT. I WAS DRIVING THE CAR WHEN THE MIL LIGHT CAME ON. A SCAN SHOWED IT IS THE ADBLUE HEATER. THIS IS THE 2ND EMISSIONS RELATED PART TO GO IN THIS CAR SINCE THE DIESEL SCANDAL BROKE AND THE 2ND ISSUE IN A MONTH.
THE DEALER SOLD ME THIS CAR SAYING THERE WAS NO REMEDY FOR THE AIRBAG PROBLEM. I SIGNED A WAIVER BUT FEEL THAT I WASN'T FULLY INFORMED OF THE DANGER, AND WOULD LIKE TO DEALER TO TAKE THE CAR BACK OR GIVE ME FULL VALUE FOR AN EXCHANGE.
TAKATA RECALL TRYING TO SELL OUR VOLKSWAGON PASSAT 2012 AT OUR LOCAL CHEVY DEALER ON 8/22/2016. WAS NOTIFIED BY CHEVY DEALER THAT THE AIRBAGS ARE ON RECALL. WE HAD NO IDEA OUR AIRBAGS WERE NOT SAFE AND UNDER A RECALL. WE WERE TOLD THEY CAN NOT RE-SELL THIS CAR AND WE BASICALLY CAN ONLY RECEIVE WHOLESALE VALUE FOR IT. WE WERE NEVER NOTIFIED BY VOLKSWAGON THAT WE HAD A RECALL. CALLED LOCAL VOLKSWAGON DEALERSHIP AND THEY CANT REPLACE BECAUSE NONE ARE AVAILABLE. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!! THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE. WE NEED TO GET THE BAGS REPLACED OR VOLKSWAGON SHOULD PROVIDE A SAFE CAR FOR US TO USE UNTIL THEY CAN REPLACE THE BAGS.
TAKATA RECALL. I'VE KNOWN ABOUT THE RECALL SINCE FEBRUARY 2016. IT IS NOW AUGUST. THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT GIVE ME A LONER. MY WIFE AND I DON'T FELL SAFE DRIVING THE CAR.
TAKATA RECALL THERE HAS BEEN NO RESOLUTION AFTER CONTACTING THE VW DEALER FOR 6+ MONTHS. THEY SAY THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX THE ISSUE. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A 200 MI. COUNTDOWN BEGAN INDICATING THE CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN. WE WERE OVER 500 MILES FROM HOME ON THE WEEKEND. WE HAD TO DRIVE THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION CAR HOME 10 HOURS TO NEAREST DEALER WITH THE THREAT OF STALLING IN TRAFFIC ON INTERSTATE. WE COULD NOT TURN THE CAR OFF, NOR STALL IT AS THE CAR INDICATED IT WOULD NOT START AGAIN. IT WAS THE NOX SENSOR. I PAID $625 PLUS TAX TO FIX PART OF THE FRAUDULENT EMISSIONS SYSTEM.
TAKATA RECALL THIS RECALL WAS INITIATED IN FEBRUARY OF 2016. IT IS NOW AUGUST AND VW STILL REPORTS THAT THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO DO THE REPAIR.

SAFETY RECALL 69M9 NHTSA 16V078 REPAIR NOT YET AVAILABLE. SHOULD I WAIT TILL I GET DISFIGURED OR DIE FROM THE EXPLOSION TO SUE VW. THIS IS SO MUCH MORE URGENT THAN AIR POLUTION FORGERY CASE. I LIVE IN CA WHERE IT GETS VERY HOT. SHOULD I GET AIRBAG REMOVED TO AVOID RISK OF EXPLOSION. I PURCHASED THIS CAR USED A YEAR AGO.
IF THE VEHICLE IS PARKED AND I AM TRYING TO LEAVE AND LOCK IT UP BY USING EITHER THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR SWITCH OR THE REMOTE, IT WILL NOT LOCK THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR, BUT THEY WILL BOTH LOCK THE OTHER THREE DOORS. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE AND MOVING ONLY A FEW YARDS, THE DOOR LOCKS ENGAGE AS NORMAL FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AND BOTH REAR SIDE DOORS. BUT NOT THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND SLOWING DOWN TO 5 - 10 MPH (STOP & GO TRAFFIC), ALL THREE OTHER DOOR LOCKS OPENED ON THEIR OWN AND RELOCKED AGAIN AS I SPEEDED UP. THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR STILL REMAINED UNLOCKED. I FEEL THIS CAN BE AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT IF ALL THE DOORS DON'T REMAIN LOCK WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING.

WENT TO VW DEALER AND HAD CEL ON. DIAGNOSIS WAS DEF HEATER FAILURE. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS AND WITHOUT THE HEATER FUNCTION DEF FLUID FREEZES AT 12 DEGREES. CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN DEALER MAINTAINED AND CALLED VWOA AND WAS TOLD PART IS ONLY COVERED 3 /36. THE CAR CURRENTLY HAS 60000 MILES. SO THEY CHARGED ME 100 DOLLARS FOR DIAGNOSIS AND CAR IS IN THE SHOP CURRENTLY FOR THE REPAIR AT QUOTED 971.00 DOLLARS. THIS DEF SYSTEM IS CERTAINLY PART OF THE EMISSIONS SYSTEM AND SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I REALLY THOUGHT ABOUT JUST DRIVING THE CAR UNTIL THE BUYBACK BUT FELT I MAY DAMAGE ANOTHER PART OF THIS COMPLICATED SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE STILL DROVE FINE BUT WAS PROBABLY SPEWING EVEN MORE POLLUTANTS INTO THE AIR THAN IT NORMALLY DOES . IT SEEMS SILLY THAT I AM SPENDING 1071.00 TO ONLY HAVE VW BUYBACK IN THE FALL. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS AND I FEEL A COMPONENT THAT VW SHOULD EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON. SO MUCH FOR VW AND MY " CLEAN DIESEL " I ALSO HAVE 2 OTHER OPEN RECALLS WITH NO PARTS FOR REPAIR YET. JUST GOT A CALL FROM THE DEALER THEY CRACKED THE DEF PUMP WHILE MAKING THE REPAIR TO THE HEATER,PARTS ORDERED. UNBELIEVABLE!
I WAS PARKING MY CAR IN A SPACE AT A LOCAL SHOPPING CENTER, AS I WAS ABOUT 18-24 INCHES FROM THE MEDIAN SEPARATING THE CARS IN THE ROW ACROSS FROM ME, MY CAR STARTED REVVING UP, JUMPED THE MEDIAN SIDESWIPED A CAR THAT WAS PARKED ONE SPACE OVER, I WAS LUCKY THERE WAS NOT A CAR OPPOSITE ME, IN THAT ROW AND WAS HEADED TOWARDS A THE NEXT ROW OF CARS. I SWIFTLY THE BRAKES DID NOT STOP THE CAR, SO I HAD TO QUICKLY JERK THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT, IT STOPPED 90 DEGREE ANGLE AND CUT OFF. I HAVE SINCE BEEN INFORMED THAT JUST REPAIRED A CHRYSLER CAR THAT DID SOMETHING SIMILAR. THAT CAR AND MINE HAVE A DRIVE - BY - WIRE DESIGN. CHRYSLER HAS RECALLED THEIR CARS TO REPROGRAM THEM. I CONTACTED MY VW DEALER AND OF COURSE THEY HAVE NOT HEARD ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. I AM JUST I ONLY HIT A CAR AND NOT A PERSON WALKING IN THE PARKING LOT! WHY IS THAT SOMEONE HAS TO DIE BEFORE THESE CAR COMPANIES WILL RECALL A VEHICLE?
TAKATA RECALL. RECENTLY I SUBMITTED A REQUEST FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR FUNDS RELATED TO THE AIRBAG RECALL. THE REQUEST WAS TURNED DOWN BY VW. THEY STATED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN NO INCIDENTS OF AIRBAG FAILURES AND SAID REPLACING THE AIRBAGS WILL BE PRECAUTIONARY. OBVIOUSLY THEY DON'T FEEL THEY NEED TO BE "TIMELY" ABOUT THIS. I FEEL THEY ARE JUST STALLING. I DID SPEND $726.40 ON AN AUTO TRAIN WHEN I FIRST HEARD ABOUT THE RECALL BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR. I FEEL VW HAS NO INTENTION TO REPAIR THE CAR.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON 7/14/16. I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP ON 7/15/16 AND LEARNED THAT THE CAR'S ADBLUE HEATER HAD GONE AND WILL COST JUST OVER $1,000 TO REPLACE. THE ADBLUE HEATER HEATS THE ADBLUE TO REMOVE NO2 FOR EMISSIONS, HOWEVER VOLKSWAGEN IS CLAIMING THAT THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE EMISSIONS WARRANTY. THE ADBLUE SYSTEM HAS NOT OTHER PURPOSE THAN FOR EMISSIONS AND SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE FEDERAL WARRANTY, AS THE EMISSIONS WOULD FALL OUTSIDE OF THE FEDERAL REGULATIONS WITHOUT THIS COMPONENT. PROPER EMISSIONS HELP TO KEEP OUR ENTIRE POPULATION SAFE AND HEALTHY FROM THE HARMFUL POLLUTANTS GENERATED BY VEHICLES. NOW THE CAR WILL NOT START BECAUSE OF THIS FALSE EMISSION SENSOR READING.

AD BLUE REDUCTANT TANK FAILED. THUS MAKING THE EMISSIONS SYSTEM NOT WORK PROPERLY. PART # 561-198-970-A IS DEFECTIVE. THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED ON MY 2013 PASSAT WITHIN LESS THAN A MONTH. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE SAME DEALER REPLACED THE CLOCKSPRING AGAIN. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE SAME PART WAS REPLACED FOR A THIRD TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE CONTACT WAS NOT SURE IF THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
MY 13 PASSAT SE 2.5 STARTED HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR LOCK ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO. THE NORMAL OPERATION OF THE LOCKS IS THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE HITS 10MPH THE DOOR WILL AUTOMATICALLY LOCK. AFTER THIS HAS HAPPENED AND I COME TO A STOP LIGHT OR SLOW DOWN BELOW 10MPH AND THEN SPEED UP AGAIN, THE REAR PASSENGER LOCK TRIES TO LOCK ITSELF AGAIN.

TAKATA RECALL A COUPLE MONTHS AGO I HAD RECALL 15V483000 COMPLETED ON MY 2012 PASSAT. I WAS EXPERIENCING ELECTRICAL ISSUES SUCH AS CRUISE CONTROL NOT WORKING, WIPERS TURNING ON FOR NO REASON. IT SEEMED TO BE CONNECTED TO THE STEERING COLUMN SINCE BOTH OF THESE FEATURES ARE CONNECTED TO THE STEERING COLUMN. AFTER THE RECALL WAS COMPLETED NO FURTHER ISSUES UNTIL TODAY. I MADE A U-TURN AND MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND HASN'T WENT OFF SENSE. I'M CONCERNED AFTER READING ABOUT SHRAPNEL AND AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.

TAKATA RECALL- MY HUSBAND AND I TOOK OUR VW PASSAT THAT HAS AN EMISSIONS RECALL AND TAKATA RECALL AND THEY SAID THAT THE MANUFACTURE DOESN'T THINK THAT THIS IS A BIG DEAL. THE MANUFACTURE REFUSES TO PROVIDE A LOANER FOR OUR VEHICLE. THEY SAID THAT IT IS PERFECTLY SAFE TO DRIVE. HOW CAN SOME MANUFACTURES PUT OTHER CUSTOMERS IN LOANERS BECAUSE OF THE SAME RECALL AND TELL THEM NOT TO DRIVE AND OTHERS SAY ITS NOT A BIG DEAL. I DO NOT TRUST VOLKSWAGEN SINCE WE WERE ALSO AFFECTED BY THEIR EMISSIONS RECALL. CAN YOU PLEASE CLARIFY AND WHAT THE NEXT STEP SHOULD BE. WE DID HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO GET ALL RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE ADDRESSED AND TO GET PARTS ORDERED. AT THIS POINT RECALL NOTICES ARE LIKE MONTHLY STATEMENTS.
I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT ON A LIMITED ACCESS HIGHWAY. THE TURBOCHARGER FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. RATHER THAN OFFER TO REPLACE THE AFFECTED PARTS WITH THE UPDATED PART THEY REDESIGNED BEFORE THE ENTIRE ENGINE IS CONTAMINATED WITH METAL FILINGS THEY ALLOW THEIR CUSTOMERS TO ATTEMP TO DESTROY THEIR ENGINES FIRST. IF MY CAR COULD NOT SURVIVE THE ORIGINAL DESIGN OF THE TURBO NO CAR LIKE THIS WILL SURVIVE. AFTER RECEIVING THE WARRANTY EXTENSION I WAS RELIEVED THAT I HAD DONE THE RIGHT THING BY ALWAYS CHANGING THE OIL AT ONE HALF THE RECOMMENDED INTERVAL AND ALWAYS DRIVING LIGHT FOOTED FOR OPTIMAL MILEAGE. I SUPPOSED THAT SINCE I HAD TAKEN PERFECT CARE I WOULD CERTAINLY NOT BE A CANDIDATE FOR THIS TRAGIC FAILURE. I WAS STRANDED AT NIGHT ON THE SIDE OF AN INTERSTATE AND HAD TO BE FLATBEDDED TO MY HOME AND THEN FURTHER TO THE DEALER, WHO KEPT THE CAR FOR TWO WEEKS AND CHARGED 5000 TO TRY TO UNDO THE DAMAGE DONE BY THIS TURBOCHARGER SELF DESTRUCTING UNDER MY FEET. IT REMAINS TO BE SEEN IF REPEATED OIL FLUSHES AND ALL NEW OIL SYSTEM PARTS WILL BE ENOUGH TO SECURE MY CAR'S MECHANICAL FUTURE. IF YOU CHOOSE TO REMOVE THE TURBOCHARGER BEFORE THE CATASTROPHIC END OCCURS YOU WILL PAY OUT OF POCKET. ONLY AFTER YOUR CAR IS RUINED WILL THEY STEP IN. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE STRANDED AS PART OF THE PROBLEM. THE OWNER'S MANUAL CLEARLY STATES YOU MUST PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY AND SHUT OFF THE CAR WHEN THE GLOW PLUG LIGHT BLINKS. THIS WILL OCCUR WITH NO PRIOR NOTICE FROM THE CAR. MANY PEOPLE ARE KILLED AND INJURED AFTER PULLING OVER IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. HAVING DONE THE CORRECT THING IMMEDIATELY DID NOT LESSEN THE SEVERITY OF THE DAMAGE DONE TO MY CAR. THE LIGHT ONLY COMES ON AFTER THE DAMAGE IS DONE!
