NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2022 Acura MDX. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
There were two major failures in my vehicle within a couple of weeks. The first was a lower ball joint failure. The passenger side lower control arm was replaced. The second major failure was the transfer case seal on the transmission failed and the transmission is being replaced. The vehicle has been serviced since its new purchase at Acura dealerships.
the last 3 times we had very insignificant snow accumulation, my vehicle dashboard lit up with 6 different warnings, some audible. when you look up the info on them it says the car cannot steer, break, will roll on a hill etc. One warning advises to remove all flammables from the car. I was very nervous and almost towed the car but since I was a mile from home I drove it and brought it to the dealer at 0730 next day. they said nothing was wrong. snow or dirt probably got behind sensor. It has happened two more times in the next 10 days. I keep taking off work and nothing is wrong. The issue is when this happens you cannot change the vehicle to snow mode to drive. this is a safety feature as well as the flashing "brake" warning and audible alarm. I have a [XXX] and [XXX] driver and they do not want to operate this vehicle. Both times it happened again, I took it to the car wash and cleaned every visible camera and sensor to no avail. I am taking it back to the dealer again this Friday but if nothing is wrong with any of these systems then there is something wrong with the cameras because how can someone operate AWD and snow mode when there are these false warnings and how do you know if they aren't false. I don't want to assume each time it's not but 3 times in 10 days and missing work, etc. Plus I am very nervous driving it like this. I reported it to Acura- they said there were no recalls. would not provide info if they have prior complaints. On google, I have found numerous complaints about this. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Brake system warning light comes on and says reduced braking take to dealer. Auto hold brakes don't always hold. Rear brakes non stop squeal and grab un predictably. I am unsure when and if the brakes will work in the rear. The loud noise from the rear squeal has caused others in traffic to flag me down and warn me something is wrong. The noise is also made it impossible to have my Autistic nephew in the vehicle with me as it triggers episodes and scares him. I have asked the dealer to please repair the rear brakes several times. They refused and instead replaced the front brakes, then admitted it is the rear brakes but refused to repair them. Honda of America also refuses to repair rear brakes. Based upon false statements on the work order the statement from the dealer is the rear brakes on the MDX are supposed to be like this. This vehicle has issues with the warning light while stopped and moving, and the noise and unsafe braking is at all speeding from 1-60 mph. Forward and reverse is malfunctions. I asked Honda America to repair which they won't then I ask them is the official statement these brakes are okay and safe as is and they will not say that either. I have driven similar models of this vehicle and it does not do the same thing, no noise, or warning lights, and the brakes preform safely and consistently. Mine do not. Honda of America does not want to repair the brakes under the warranty. They also incorrectly stated on repair statement that humidity and car washes can make the brakes do this. I have been in northern non humid states during winter and never use a car wash. They just use this as an attempt to not repair the brakes.
Vehicle has had 3 instances of a feeling of locking/ seizing and shutter or hesitation during braking at 40 to 65 MPH. Service light appear about brake system which quickly vanishes in less than few seconds same as feeling of the brake seizing also disappears within few seconds. This occurred from initial purchase to date at 21k miles. Vehicle brake system inspected at this service junction 2 years after purchase and at this service at 21k one single brake pad and rotor has worn on right front brake pad to 3mm. Front right Brake rotor also deemed damaged and require changing. Other 3 brakes pads and rotors meaning left front brake pad and rotor and 2 rear brake pads and rotors are in good condition at 8mm. The dealership has issued a finding from their independent warranty inspection people who refute that the brake caliper as deemed as cause of this issue in past cases have now instructed the dealerships to NOT change caliper but just change the brake and rotor affected and to do this at the vehicle owner's expense nonetheless. So the vehicle has has other identified issues with uneven brake wear of the model 2022 MDX Type S. The manufacturer is not acting in good faith to provide safe and reasonable means of addressing this issue. This issue is clearly happening to this particular MDX and now Acura does not want to find the problem and correct it. My brake has worn to 3mm and yet it is not considered a "defective" part that must be at fault? There needs to be an identification of what can be causing this as brakes are one of the major safety components for a vehicle. Acura needs to find out the cause and stop passing the responsibility of correcting an obvious defect onto the consumer with a bandaid. Changing the rotor and brake pad is not the way. The root defect needs to be addressed especially since there is obviously multiple people with same issue with this make and model 2022.
My vehicle has a battery issue, we replaced the battery twice in two years still the issue might happened again and again. Once the battery start draining energy, everything start blinking and car stops all of a sudden in the middle of the road because of brake assistance problem. All the system errors come up. It is very scary to drive the vehicle with my kids inside. All system in car works with battery. service center told me that this kind of cars needs bigger battery and company only put small batteries in the car. Company don’t put warranty on battery if it is replaced under car warranty. My car is only 33 months old and i have to change battery twice, It might happen again. Please help me to resolve the problem. It looks like factory problem that company do not make sufficient batteries to satisfy the vehicle needs. I have attached the pictures of safety lights.
The contact owns a 2022 Acura MDX. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V064000 (Air Bags); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Airbags: I was driving on interstate five when traffic had come to a slow stop. The vehicle far behind me not paying attention and hit me going at a very fast speed that forced my car into a box truck in front of me. My car was found to be a total loss. Zero airbags were deployed with either impact. The hood completely crunched and dash broke open inside vehicle.
Third time with the same issue. Steering wheel vibrates loudly when retracting. Car has already had the steering column replaced once and issue is still there. Car has less than 16K miles and driven locally only.
While driving the vehicle and while it was in motion, I received a wave of faults. The power steering, lane departure, brake system, brake hold system, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, trailer stability, and adaptive cruise control all failed. Consequently, the steering wheel locked completely while the car was in motion. I couldn’t steer at all, and the car was in motion! I informed American Honda and the dealer, who informed me that “they had never heard of such a problem”, and that they were “unable to duplicate the issue” when the tow truck brought it into the shop.
Driving when all electronic lights flashed. Rakes steering driver assist lift and towing. Said see dealer Reset after I waited at gas station for 30 min Power steering worked but was hard to control car
While driving on a major highway, several warning lights, including the brake warning, appeared on the dashboard. Simultaneously, the vehicle lost power steering, making it extremely difficult to steer and creating a hazardous situation for the driver and others on the road. The driver managed to pull over and turn off the vehicle. Upon restarting, the warning lights were gone, and the steering returned to normal. The car was taken to a local Acura dealership, but they couldn’t find any error codes or replicate the issue. After a week of driving without any problems, the car was brought back to the dealership. This time, a district Acura technician recommended replacing the steering rack. The dealership informed us that Acura would disassemble the old steering rack to investigate the issue further and determine if it was the cause. Acura will decide on a recall if enough vehicles are affected.
Panoramic roof suddenly exploded with no apparent reason while driving around 45 mile per hour. The outside temperature from the gauge was showing 89 degree F. Road was clean and there was no sign of a rock hitting the roof. Luckily all the broken glasses were collected by the sunshade and did not fall inside the cabin where 2 kids were sitting on the second row seats. The broken glass could have seriously injured the driver and the passengers if the sunshade was open.
The contact owns a 2022 Acura MDX. The contact stated that on two separate occasions while driving at various speeds, the brake warning light illuminated. Additionally, while driving at various speeds on the two occasions, the vehicle experienced phantom braking. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that a software update for the side air bag sensors was needed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 41,000.
2022 MDX Type S. So far I have replaced one tire and two rims. Air suspension does not absorb any road hazard. Pot holes or expansion cracks the front end dives into them letting the tires and rims absorb the impact. Thank goodness no high speed loss of tire pressure
Steering issue: Car pulls to the right. After the dealership attempted three-repairs in same issue. The dealership re-aligned my car, but still present pulling issue, nothing changed. After the final repair from the dealership, checked tires and alignment at the American Tire. The issue confirmed in Caster and Camber, so re-alignment needed which only Acura could adjust it. The dealership kept saying its cause of road crowning, uneven tires and blamed to the customer had minor rear end accident. Only 24,000miles, no tire wear, also confirmed from American Tires. The car is not normal pulling to the right.
All safety system alerts appeared while driving on the highway saying there were failures with all of the safety systems. Electronic steering suddenly stopped working and vehicle slowed down forcibly until its stop in the middle of the highway. I had to call roadside assistance to get the car towed to the dealership. ALL ERROR MESSAGES CAME ON, THE VEHICLE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING,VSA , HILL START ASSIST,TRAILER STABILITY ASSIST PROBLEM, COLLISION MITIGATION & VEHICLE KEPT STOPPING ITSELF WHILE DRIVING, ROAD DEPARTURE. LANE KEEPING ASSIST all error messages came on.
Transmission issue… grinding and not accelerating…. When it is at a stop and moving again .. turning with accelerating.. it moves really slow
ON FEB 9TH 2024 AS I WAS DRIVING TO WORK THE STEERING WHEEL RANDOMLY LOCKED FORCING ME ACROSS TH EOTHER LANE AND INTO A STONE WALL. HONDA NORTH AMERICA TOOK CONTROL OF THE CAR, REMOVED THE PARTS AND I STILL DO NOT HAVE THE CAR BACK . THEY HAVE OFFERED NO MONEY AND HAVE NOT REPAIRED THE CAR. I FEEL THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND USED THIS INCIDENT TO TRY TO COVER THE PROBLEM UP AND MAKE IT GO AWAY. I FEAR FOR THE FAMILY OF 4 TRAVELING AND HEADING INTO A DUMP TRUCK.. THIS WAS A VERY SCARY EVENT AND I SEE NO REASON A STEERING WHEEL SHOULD LOCK AND PREVENT THE CAR FROM MAINTAINING CONTROL
I've recently been in touch with an Acura dealership about my vehicle's wireless charger not working. So shortly after purchase I made my complaint that the wireless charger pad is not charging my phone. They've replaced the pad but still not charging my Samsung ultra 22+ unless the car is parked and sitting still. They've asked me to allow time for researching the issue and taken all the make model details from my phone. Well sadly a few other things recently became noticeable to me as well and I will be following up with the dealership to address them as well as I'm not satisfied with my truck and the many issues I'm experiencing. 1) Jerked when coming to a stop to reverse into my driveway 2) A loud Thud noise could be heard inside my truck although I had the radio on when switching from park to drive or drive to park. 3) Car stopped kind of midway when reversing jerking me in the process leaving me wondering why or what was going on. 4) Engine would rev to 7000rpm even though I was going less than 45 mins per hour....just baffling honestly.
Dealer refuse to fix the recall on vehicle because car from Canada ?? has full warranty on car . Product Update : Vehicle May Not Restart After Auto IdIe Stop . service department said had to talk to district manager .
I put premium gas all the time but the vehicle seems to consume excess amount of fuel. Not sure if the computer is has issues with the readings or fuel pump has an issues.
On November 17, 2023 while we were on a trip the vehicle's sunroof spontaneously exploded upward. There were no other vehicles around us and nothing above us. This is the second time this sunroof has exploded. The first was on February 19, 2023. Both incidents were covered by insurance except for the deductible. This could have posed a great danger to anyone immediately behind my vehicle as glass was blown back in that direction.
I recently (11/9/23) took my 2022 MDX (22,00 miles) to the local Acura dealer for an issue with my windshield washers not working. They diagnosed the problem as the washer jets were clogged and said the replacement parts were on back order and they were not given a time when they would arrive. I am concerned that currently my vehicle is unsafe to drive during inclement weather conditions-- i.e. slush, muddy roads, etc. Acura customer service has not been able to provide any ETA on this issue
This vehicle has an “integrated” gas cap where the fuel filler door acts as the gas cap. I can’t believe Honda engineering did ANY testing with this system since about 75% of the time when I fuel the vehicle, the nozzle gets stuck in the filler neck & the neck usually comes off the vehicle entirely when attempting to remove the fuel nozzle. This problem has been well documented on Honda/Acura forums for some time and I CANNOT BELIEVE Honda has not issued a recall as this represents a significant safety risk, not to mention potential emissions issues.
On 8/20/23 heading south on I-294 in Chicago : in center lane with cruise control on and no cars close in front of me when the car suddenly started a hard braking without warning. No orange warning to brake came on but engine warning light of left of dashboard was on. Immediately turned off cruise control. Car would not accelerate and came to a stop on the highway. Tried to start without success, then restarted and the car came on but in neutral. It had been placed in Park before shutting off. Car started and drove uneventfully back to Indianapolis. Took to Acura dealer and diagnostics were run showing that "position range" switch or sensor had been activated. Told it was safe to drive. We do not agree and are selling the car. Dealer, or service Dept was very lackadaisical about the incident. I will contact Acura corporate headquarters as well.
On at least 5 occasions my automatic braking system has engaged when there were no obstacles in front of the vehicle. This has happened when driving at higher speeds (approx. 50 mph) on Lake Shore Drive in the city of Chicago as well at speeds below 30 mph along residential streets in my neighborhood. When I mentioned this to the dealership, I was told that perhaps there was interference from metal guardrails during the higher speed triggering of the brakes. The residential area incidents have occurred when there was no cars or pedestrians anywhere on the street. I am worried that I will be rear ended because the braking is occurring unexpectedly with clear roads ahead.
The front bumper of the car is becoming unattached. There is a space underneath the headlights. The panel gap between the fender and front bumper has grown at the top, indicating the bumper is slipping from the top down. The problem appears to be getting worse. The plastic underneath the bumper is now becoming detached. I fear some of the clamps behind the bumper have failed. I also fear this may begin impacting critical systems and sensors behind the bumper. The Acura dealer denies any issue exists.
As I was approaching an intersection the car engaged the brakes without reason and I was unable to drive the car. It forced the car to stop in the middle of a busy intersection. Thankfully no one else was around or behind my car, but this could have resulted in a very bad accident resulting in my being rear ended at high speeds. The car had 4 passengers, including 2 children in car seats. I am open to the car being inspected. I plan to take it to the dealership for this reason.
The collision mitigation braking engages independently with no objects in front of vehicle. I was going through a green light with no car in front of me. The car momentarily started to brake on its own.
The contact owns a 2022 Acura MDX. The contact stated that while idling at a red light, a white-colored smoke began to emit from the front passenger tire wheel well. The contact was then alerted by a fellow motorist that the vehicle had caught fire. The contact exited the vehicle and called for assistance. The fire department arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire. A police nor a fire report was filed and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed from the scene to the dealer where it remained in their possession. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be either repaired or destroyed. The failure mileage was 26,000.
The contact owned a 2022 Acura MDX. The contact stated that while her husband was reversing from the driveway, the transmission was being shifted from reverse (R) into Drive (D), the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop. The vehicle crashed into the neighbor's residence and landed in their yard. The contact's husband was injured and received medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and was deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 17,956.
2022 mdx sunroof shattered while driving however stayed in place because I got my sunroof tinted and dealership told me to go through insurance I called acura relations and they are investigating no one properly inspected or looked at it
I brought my car in for regular maintenance as well as sunroof not opening plus I noticed on and off when I start the car my steering wheel vibrates, only when starting the car. Following day I received a phone call that the motor needed to be changed for the sunroof and they also need to change my brakes (car has ~8K miles on it)… and not just brake pads, rotors as well. My front passenger side brakes were basically none existent, no idea for how long and I was told it’s a manufacturers defect which was covered by warranty. I have a 4 year old and currently 5 months pregnant, needless to say I feel extremely unsafe now driving my not so cheap car.
All electrical systems failed while driving around 30mph, Power steering failed, power brakes failed, lane assist failed. We were at high risk of a crash due to lack of control of the car while driving. We were lucky that it happened on a flat road and we were able to manually pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle was inspected by the manufacturer and we were told that the car did show all the steering angle sensors did malfunction and fail. They said there is no known cause. They just recalibrated and reset the sensor and said it now is ok "at this time." There is no guarantee that the problem won’t happen again and put my family’s life in danger. Prior to this incident we repeatedly got the "BRAKE SYSTEM: Brake system problem, Brake performance may be reduced, See your dealer". We took it into the deal and was told nothing is wrong with the car and this is a known issue. Dealership Service video: https://app.truvideo.com/v/CbRSGHvo?s=46jtvtJ1AFXkZdwwQ3gE7pDBzV4dlDl0
The contact owns a 2022 Acura MDX. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle independently accelerated. The contact stated that the failure occurred at various speeds. The contact stated that the failure had been intermittent but had become a reoccurring failure. Additionally, the vehicle hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle had not been repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the windshield had tiny air bubbles inside the glass. The contact stated that during nighttime driving the oncoming headlights created a glare. There was also a glare created by the sunlight, creating an obstacle while driving in the daytime. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
On Sunday December 11th 2022 we were coming back home from church. We were driving on I-5 highway northbound. Suddenly we heard explosion like sound and moment after we realized that our moonroof shattered. I was such a scary moment especially that we had 6 year old in the back seat. We were not hit by anything or anyone. we just heard explosion and glass shattered on our car and cars around us. We immediately pulled off from the highway (in save manner of course) and went to gas station to see what happened. It was raining that day. I called Acura immediately and they asked to come back on Monday. Acura asked us to repair it with insurance not taking any responsibility for that. It is safety issue and it may happen again. Acura is luxury car and I would expect they care about quality and way how glass is tempered. Moonroof on our Acura take more than 50% of roof space so it is very concerning safety issue.
We have replaced the front windshield twice now as it is very easy to crack on small road debris. I have other cars that do not experience this and it feels like the windshield was not designed well.
While driving on the highway the moon roof spontaneously exploded and shattered. The noise was loud and startling like a gunshot and poses a serious risk of crashing and injury if the shade is open at the time of explosion.
Suspension clicking noise when turning wheel to from one end to another. I found that the outer tie rod end ball joint wasn’t torque down. I double checked the lower ball joint and found it wasn’t torque down as well. The clicking went away after torquing down the outer tie rod joint.
I was driving my 2022 Acura MDX on interstate highway in the middle lane of a three lane road. We had our panoramic sunroof closed, but the interior sliding sunroof door was fully open exposing the entire panoramic sunroof. After a period of time and without indication or warning, the sunroof exploded (sounded like a gunshot when it exploded) sending glass throughout the interior of the vehicle as we were driving at highway speeds. We were lucky that there were no vehicles next to us when the explosion happened because I swerved out of my lane temporarily not knowing what just happened. We were not anywhere near overpasses, trees, or any other hazard that might have dropped an object onto the top of the sunroof. Additionally, we did not see any road debris flying towards our vehicle. Fortunately we were near home and we slowed the vehicle down to exit the freeway and made it home to further examine the damage.
We purchased the vehicle on April 2nd. The front left strut airbag burst while we were driving at 23 miles an hour. Thankfully were weren't going fast when the failure occurred. I would imagine that at highway speeds this could greatly impact your driving ability as the front left of the car dropped down about 6 inches. The dealer currently has the part on backorder but has yet to attempt a repair. Our vehicle has been out of commission for 26 days. We got about 15 warning lights and parked in our driveway as we happened to be near our home when the strut broke. We had the vehicle towed to the nearest Acura dealership.
At slow speed our brand new vehicle with only 800 miles the electric power steering system failed causing difficulty manually steering the vehicle and pulling off the roadway. In addition every warning light illuminated on dashboard. Vehicle was towed to Acura of Turnersville in NJ and after three days is still being diagnosed. Internet searches have revealed several other owners with the 2022 Acura MDX and the same vehicle problems. One owner had Acura buy the car back after four months of diagnosis and no repair. Our dealer serivce advisor stated the had another 2022 MDX with the same issue only two weeks ago. This is a very serious situation as losing power steering at any speed could cause a crash if the driver doesnt have enough strength to manually steer the car. This is a potentionally serious situation the warrants further investigation by NHTSA.
May the water leak causes fire . I have many issues going on on my new 22 MDX 7k miles on it , the car is acting crazy no keyless entry working, remote is not working, I called many dealers after they checked it they said we have to keep the car for few days because there's water leaking on the driver side, it was a shocking for me that a brand new car having that, I called the worst company ever Acura and i told them i need a replacement or buy back I'm not agree to fix a brand new car and go through this hassle for years, they was very aggressive and not professional or fair and the case manager hange up on me (Jassica) she refused to let me speake to her manager or supervisor, she said just have to leave the car at the dealer for few days without loaner or reimbursement!! Is it fair ?! And she started to give reasons for the problem which is not true, now I need help to get it done. The worst after sale service ever It was one of my big mistakes that happened to my life to buy Acura !
Observation 1: Lane-keeping assistance is unreliable and the results of its operation are highly variable. In optimum conditions (daylight, wide lanes which are clearly marked; good contract between lane markings & pavement; no more than very gentle, wide-radius curves), this feature will do one of three things when the vehicle starts to drift from the middle of the lane: (1) the feature will gently steer the vehicle back to the desired position, (2) the feature will exhibit a warning by vibrating the steering wheel and allow the vehicle to change lanes or (3) fail and do nothing -- without any warning whatsoever. One never knows how the car will react but it certainly cannot be trusted. Observation 2: When driving in light traffic or no traffic conditions the vehicle will occasionally brake aggressively. This was observed to occur on multiple occasions. Two situational examples which have been observed several times: (1) four lane roadway inside city limits; speed: 40mph; I was gently braking to stop behind a vehicle stopped at a traffic light; car applied brakes rapidly nearly causing a rear-end crash as the vehicle behind me did not anticipate the Acura's action. (Judging from the hand signal I received I believe the driver of the vehicle behind me though I was administering a "brake test" -- a common precursor to "road rage.") (2) driving on a two lane country road at 50-55MPH; no other traffic within hundreds of feet in any direction; vehicle brakes rapidly for no apparent reason; my attempt to accelerate and over-ride the "safety feature" was unsuccessful -- eventually the Acura stopped this action and I was able to resume desired speed. Important to note: At no time during these incidents did braking occur to avoid a crash or minimize damage. These were uncommanded operations that actually increased the probability of a crash. These events occurred between 11/21 and 03/22.
Sunroof spontaneously exploded outward while driving children to school. Loud boom like an explosion, no rain or inclement weather. Received a splinter from small shards of glass after Acura dealership vacuumed. They quoted me $1100 and $1400 for repair of this defect, and was unable to determine when glass would arrive. Did not give loaner or anything, and car is less than 30 days old.
The contact owns a 2022 Acura MDX. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the brakes applied independently. The contact stated the brake warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle decelerated to 10 MPH however, quickly started accelerating after depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,500.
All warning lights came on dashboard. Car wouldn't turn off
I was driving on a 80-mph 3-lane one direction (6 both) toll road, following a Tx State Trooper. About a 1/4 mile ahead of me were two waste disposal trucks. One in the right land and one passing the other in the center lane. The trooper and I pulled into the left lane. As we approached the waste disposal trucks (about 1/8 mile away) my brakes automatically engaged and braked hard for no reason. I tried to override it by depressing the accelerator but the accelerator did not respond (as though it had been disengaged). Behind me was a Mercedes SUV, which had to brake hard to avoid rear ending me. My brakes kept automatically braking (off and on). I finally pulled off the road on the left shoulder and brought the car to a complete stop. It then allowed me to proceed on my way. I bought the car in part for this safety feature, but it clearly is faulty. In reading about braking system, i found that older models had a button that you could use to turn the system off. In my 2022 model, you can turn it off only with multiple steps. You can also adjust the responsiveness of the auto-brake system through a multiple step process. Clearly, this is a major problem that needs to be addressed. I was very lucky that the car behind me braked immediately or it would have rear-ended me at high speed. It was about 5:30 p.m. It was getting dark but not completely dark. I think the problem is with the automatic braking system for forward crash avoidance, but my adaptive cruise control was engaged.
The vehicle makes noise while shifting from Park to Reverse to Drive. Transmission fluid and oil fluid leaking while I had driven only 450 miles. Had reported the issue to the Service Department. They informed that since the engine is new it will take a while for the transmission gear to quiet it down. They can't find any leakage for the first two times when I brought the vehicle for them to inspect. Their Service Manager was able to identify the issue and assigned the technician to trace it down. My car is currently in their shop for the third time since I just purchased it on August 19th, 2021.
The brakes are not working warning light has flashed several times. In numerous calls and dealer visits Acura has no resolution the say it’s under investigation. There is a service bulletin from May of 2021 but I was never advised of this issue and I am very uncomfortable driving the car with a brake problem.
