The contact owns a 2015 Acura TLX. The contact stated that while parking the vehicle, the check engine, ABS, and several other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact was not able to restart the vehicle immediately. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with code P0087 for the fuel rail system. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000.
The fuel pump appears to be malfunctioning. The car is basically inoperable when driving in any other mode besides Eco. From 10/5/21 - 11/19/21, I’ve filled my fuel tank 11 times and never received any errors or warning messages. I am willing to have the vehicle inspected to confirm by Acura.
PICKING CHILD FROM SCHOOL, CAR WAS IDLE WHILE WAITING, ONCE I STARTED TO MOVE, THE CAR STARTED TO STALL. I TRIED TO PRESS THE GAS BUT IT WOULDN'T GO AND WHEN IT DID, IT WAS IN SHORT JERKING ACTIONS. I WAS ABLE TO GET OVER TO THE SIDE. THE FULL DASH BOARD LIT UP AND THE CAR FINALLY CUT OFF. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO RESTART IT AND 45 MIN LATER, IT TURNED ON AGAIN. IT WOULDN'T GO FAST AND DRAGGED. SHOP GAVE DIAGNOSTIC AND STATED THERE WAS POSSIBLE PROBLEM W THE FUEL PUMP AND SENSORS CAUSE DASHBOARD TO LIGHT UP. THEY WERE ABLE TO TURN IT OFF. THIS WAS ON 3/15/2019. THE CAR CURRENTLY HAS MOMENTS AND THINK THERE MAY BE A BIGGER ISSUE. CALLED ACURA AND THEY STATED MY CAR VIN DOES NOT SHOW ANY RECALLS SO IF IT'S THE FUEL PUMP I WILL NEED TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. HAVE AUTO SHOP REPORT IF NEEDED
