The contact owns a 2009 Acura TSX. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated, after which the vehicle entered LIMP Mode and the throttle failed to respond. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway to restart the vehicle. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a persistent failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 143,000.
The check engine light came on and the “check transmission” warning sign came on all of a sudden one day. I started feeling hard ups/downs in gears from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 (and also in reverse order of both these sequences). Its running rough and don’t feel safe driving the car.
I was driving car to work and when I was making a turn my car steering wheel stop working it was so hard to maneuver I almost crashed I took it to the shop and they asked to call the acura dealer before making repairs because this car had reports on the steering wheel malfunction I called and they said that this car wasn't cover by the warranty but this could off got me kill now the acura dealer is asking me for 3000 dollars to fix it when is a car factory default
Air Bag light shows on dash but when driving the air bad light flashes off and on. It happens often
VEHICLE HAS THROWN AN ENGINE CODE DUE TO EXCESS OIL CONSUMPTION DUE TO STICKY PISTON RINGS, ADVANCEMENT IN TIMING AND VVT ADVANCEMENTS. DUE TO THIS ENGINE CODE BEING THROWN, THE CAR DEACTIVATES VSA AND ALSO THROWS AN EMISSION CONTROL LIGHT. THIS CAUSES THE CAR TO ENTER A STATE WHERE IT ADVANCES THE RPM'S AT IDLE BY A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT AND BURNS MORE FUEL. WHEN LEAVING THE CAR IN DRIVE BUT AT A STOP, THE CAR WILL QUICKLY ACCELERATE NEARLY TO 30 MPH ON A FLAT SURFACE. IN ORDER TO STOP THE CAR, THE DRIVER MUST EXCESSIVELY ENGAGE THE BRAKES. ACURA TECHNICIANS HAVE INFORMED ME THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND IS DUE TO THE PISTON SEALS BEING FAULTY, CAUSING EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AND LOOSING THE TIMING CHAIN TO BECOME OUT OF SYNC. ENGINE WILL THEN ENTER A "LIMP" MODE WHERE CAR WILL IDLE HIGHER, BURN MORE FUEL.
MY OIL LIGHT KEEP COMING ON EVERY 30% AFTER NEW OIL CHANGE.
STEERING LOCKS UP MID-TURN WHILE DRIVING. RESULTED IN A COLLISION.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR A FEW MONTHS AGO. THE LAST OIL CHANGE WAS DONE AT THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT FROM. AND SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT I HAVE HAD TO PUT 6 QUARTS OF OIL IN MY ENGINE. MY CAR IS ONLY AT ABOUT 87,000 MILES AND IS CURRENTLY READY FOR THE NEXT OIL CHANGE. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO ASK WHAT I COULD DO ABOUT IT AND ALL THEY TOLD ME WAS TO TRY A FUEL TREATMENT WHICH IS IRRELEVANT. IM AT A LOSS, AND I DONT THINK I WILL EVER BUY AND ACURA EVER AGAIN.
WHENEVER THE WEATHER DROPS BELOW FREEZING, MY BRAKES STOP WORKING. THE CARE MAY WORK FINE FOR THE FIRST BLOCK, BUT FAIL TWO OR THREE BLOCKS INTO A DRIVE. WHEN I TRY TO STEP ON THE BRAKE, AND IT FEELS FROZEN -- STUCK ALMOST. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE VEHICLE IS BY USING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, OF IDLING THE MANUAL BRAKE RETURNS TO NORMAL ACTIVITY. THIS IS EXTREMELY ALARMING -- ESPECIALLY ON CITY ROADS WITH NUMEROUS PEDESTRIANS, STUDENTS, AND OTHER VEHICLES IN CLOSE PROXIMITY. IT IS NOT A NORMAL ISSUE; I NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS WITH ANOTHER CAR, AND FROM INTERNET RESEARCH, IT SEEMS THAT A NUMBER OF OTHER DRIVERS EXPRESSED CONCERN TO DEALERS, THE MANUFACTURER, AND NHTSA WITH NO OUTCOME. WILL IT TAKE A CASUALTY OR HOPEFULLY NOT A FATALITY FOR AN INVESTIGATION/ ACTION?
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION
MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AROUND A CURVE AND SHE SAID THE WHEEL LOCKED AND SHE COULD NOT TURN STRIKING A MAIL BOX AT 20 MPH. THIS WAS WITNESSED BY MY NEIGHBOR WHO WAS MOWING HIS LAWN. HE SAID HE SAW HER TRYING TO TURN BUT THE CAR WAS NOT TURNING. IF SHE WAS GOING FASTER SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED.
I RECEIVED A TAKATA RECALL AND WENT TO ROSENTHAL ACURA TO GET IT REPLACED. THAT WAS COMPLETED BY ROSENTHAL. I THINK THAT WAS AROUND A YEAR AGO. ON 04/23/2018 I REAR-ENDED ANOTHER CAR. MY CAR WAS TOTALED. MY SPEED AT IMPACT PROBABLY WAS ABOUT 30-25 MPH. THE CAR I HIT WAS STATIONARY. MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. WHY NOT?
THE DRIVERS SEAT BELT STOPPED CATCHING BECAUSE OF THE PLASTIC CAP COVERING THE MECHANISM CAME LOOSE. THE CAP HOLDS WITH LITTLE PLASTIC PEGS WHICH AREN'T VERY STRONG AND KEEP POPPING OUT. I FIXED IT BY REPLACING ONE WITH A SCREW BUT IT SHOULD BE MANUFACTURED MORE SECURELY TO BEGIN WITH. THE DRIVERS SEAT BELT IS A MAJOR PART OF VEHICLE SAFETY AND SHOULD BE MADE MORE STURDY THAN IT IS. THIS HAPPENED WITH REGULAR USE OF THE SEAT BELT AND NOT DURING ANY ACCIDENT.

"TAKATA RECALL" THE AIRBAG DASH LIGHTS CAME BACK ON IN THE VEHICLE AGAIN SHORTLY (APPROXIMATELY 1-2 WEEKS) AFTER THE ACURA DEALERSHIP PERFORMED THE RECALL REPAIR TO THE AIRBAGS. THE VEHICLE WAS IMMEDIATELY TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR EVALUATION.
I LIVE IN NAPLES, ITALY. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET MY CAR FIXED FOR THE TAKATA RECALL. IN APRIL, 2017, I TOOK THE CAR TO THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER. THEY ORDERED THE PART, BUT IT NEVER ARRIVED. I CALLED HONDA OF AMERICA, AND THEY REPORTED THAT THE PARTS DISTRIBUTOR FOR ALL OF EUROPE HAS RUN OUT OF THE PART I NEED. IT HAS BEEN SIX MONTHS. HOW DO I GET MY CAR FIXED?

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V346000 NO REMEDY HAS BEEN OFFERED AND IT HAS BEEN EIGHT MONTHS. NOT ALLOWING A PASSENGER IS NOT A PRACTICAL SOLUTION FOR THIS LONG.

AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THE RECALL REMEDY WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE PROVIDED. EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION CAUSING OIL LEVEL TO GO DOWN TOO SOON (<1000 MILES) AND CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LOSE POWER AND STALL FOR A FEW SECONDS WHEN MERGING ON TO A FREEWAY OR STARTING IN MOTION AFTER A STOP SIGN OR PRIOR SLOW DOWN. THIS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WHILE MERGING INTO A FREEWAY AFTER SLOWING DOWN AT A YIELD SIGN.
FROM 2009 THROUGH 2015 I HAVE HAD MY DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS REPLACED 11 (ELEVEN) TIMES. FOUR TIMES FRONT DRIVER SIDE. FOUR TIMES FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. FOUR TIMES REAR PASSENGER SIDE. THREE TIMES REAR DRIVER SIDE, WHICH HAS NOW GONE AGAIN MAKING A FOURTH REPLACEMENT NECESSARY FOR REAR DRIVER SIDE BRINGING TOTAL TO 12 (TWELVE) TIMES THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED.
I AM HAVING TO PUT 2-3 QUARTS OF OIL IN MY VEHICLE ONCE A MONTH. I HAD TAKEN MY VEHICLE INTO THE ACURA DEALERSHIP LAST YEAR AND THEY STARTED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE FOR THE EXACT ISSUE THAT I'M HAVING BUT MY VIN WASN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE RECALL IS FOR DEPOSITS BUILDING UP IN THE ENGINE WHICH CAUSE OIL TO BE BURNED MORE DURING ACCELERATION AND THE SOLUTION WOULD BE TO REPLACE THE PISTONS ON THE ENGINE AND OTHER VARIOUS ENGINE PARTS. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO FIX THE RECALL AND SHOWED UP TO THE DEALERSHIP IN AUGUST AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD RESCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT WHEN THE PART BECAME AVAILABLE. I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM AND I CALLED TO ASK AND THEY SAID THAT IT IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE.

WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON A FREEWAY I HEARD A POP SOUND AND SAW THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDSHIELD MOLDING HAD COME LOOSE. IT NEVER FELL OFF. I SECURED IT WITH DUCT TAPE. IT STAYED WHEN I DROVE ON CITY STREETS, BUT POPPED OFF AGAIN ON THE FREEWAY.

"TAKATA RECALL" IT'S BEEN ALMOST SEVEN MONTHS SINCE THE RECALL WAS INITIATED ON MAY 23, 2016. THE MANUFACTURER'S TEMPORARY SOLUTION WAS TO NOT HAVE A PASSENGER IN MY CAR UNTIL THE PARTS/REMEDY IS AVAILABLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2009 ACURA TSX. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AGGRESSIVELY WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A FRACTURED STERNUM, INJURIES TO THE LEFT FOOT, AND A CONCUSSION. THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER SUSTAINED A FRACTURED HIP, FRACTURED RIBS, A CONCUSSION, AND INJURIES TO BOTH FEET THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND DEEMED DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V346000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. I HAVE A ACURA TSX AND IM HAVING TROUBLE WITH OIL CONSUMPTION AND THE PISTONS THE ACURA DEALERSHIP IS REFUSING TO HONOR RECALL BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL OWNER PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2008 AND THEY SAID IT FOLLOWS ME I NEVER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL ON OUL CONSUMPTION I FOUND OUT FROM A MECHANIC THAT IT WAS BURNING OIL IS THERE ANYWAY I CAN FIND OUT WHEN THE RECALL WAS ISSUED I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2015 PLEASE HELP ME THEY ARE GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND
TAKATA RECALL - THEY STILL DON'T HAVE A REMEDY FOR THIS!! I WAS NOTIFIED IN MARCH THAT IT NEEDED REPAIRING BUT STILL NOT RESOLUTION...MEANWHILE, THERE IS A DANGER DRIVING THIS VEHICLE...SOMETHING MUST BE DONE!!!
MY CAR IS CONSUMING EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL, AND ACURA HAS TOLD ME THIS IS NORMAL. I HAVE ADDED THREE QUARTS SINCE MY LAST OIL CHANGE, AND ACURA IS DOING NOTHING TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. EVEN AFTER ISSUING A WARRANTY EXTENSION, AND ACKNOWLEDGING THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE, THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNSAFE, AND BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE FOR A CAR I THOUGHT WAS GOING TO BE A RELIABLE, LONG-LASTING VEHICLE.
EXPERIENCING HIGH ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION. MY 2009 ACURA TSX IS AROUND 88K MILES. SINCE AROUND THE 75K MILE MARK I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING HIGHER THAN NORMAL OIL CONSUMPTION RATES. I REGULARLY CHANGE MY OIL AT THE 3,000 MI MARK AND ONCE HAD THE AUTO SHOP ASK ME WHY I HAD WAITED SO LONG TO CHANGE MY OIL. I HAD EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT IT WAS AT THE 3K MI MARK AND THAT I WAS RIGHT ON TIME FOR MY SERVICE. THE AUTO SHOP HAD THEN GONE ON TO EXPLAIN TO ME THAT I HAD BURNED THROUGH MORE THAN 3QTS OF OIL AT THAT POINT. CONSUMING 1 OR MORE QUARTS OF OIL PER 1,000MI IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. SO I THINK THIS EXPERIENCE IS UNIQUE TO ME BUT COME TO FIND OUT ACURA HAS ISSUED A NOTICE OF A WARRANTY EXTENSION TO ACURA OWNERS EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE. AFTER RECEIVING A NOTICE FROM ACURA REGARDING HIGH ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION I WAS DIRECTED TO TAKE MY CAR INTO THE ACURA DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. I PAID A PREMIUM PRICE TO HAVE MY OIL CHANGE COMPLETED BY THE DEALER, I HAD MY OIL LEVELS MARKED AND WAS TOLD TO BRING THE CAR BACK AFTER 1,000 MILES SO THEY COULD TEST MY OIL CONSUMPTION. AFTER THE 1,000 MI MARK I RETURNED BACK TO THE DEALER TO BE TOLD THAT I HAD USED OVER 1 QUART OF OIL IN MY 1,000 MILES DRIVEN AND THAT THIS WAS CONSIDERED ACCEPTABLE TO ACURA AND THEY WOULD NOT BE EXTENDING MY WARRANTY OR FIXING MY PISTON/ENGINE ISSUE. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE OIL CONSUMPTION RATES FOR AN AUTOMOBILE. AFTER EACH OIL CHANGE I RECEIVE AROUND THE 2,000 MI MARK MY ENGINE MAKES A VERY LOUD NOISE WHILE CHANGING GEARS. ONCE THE OIL CHANGE IS COMPLETED IT GOES AWAY UNTIL AT LEAST THE NEXT 2K MILES ARE DRIVEN. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED!!! ACURA HAS SETS THE STANDARD FOR OIL CONSUMPTION RATES AT AN UNREALISTIC LEVEL AND IS PUTTING ACURA OWNERS SAFETY AT RISK!!!!
VEHICLE BURNS EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL, 1 QUART EVERY 1200 MILES. ACURA WILL NOT FIX THE ISSUE AND SAYS THIS IS ACCEPTABLE. I HAVE ALREADY INCURRED ADDITIONAL REPAIR COSTS DUE TO THIS PROBLEM INCLUDING REPLACING THE SEVERELY STRETCHED TIMING CHAIN AND AM ALSO CONSTANTLY ADDING OIL TO THE CAR EVERY WEEK. I REALIZE THIS IS NOT A SAFETY COMPLAINT BUT ACURA SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE IN SOME WAY FOR THIS.

I HAVE A 2009 ACURA TSX AND WHEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPS INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS ( F) OR WE HAVE A VERY COLD OVERNIGHT WEATHER (I'M IN WESTERN NY) I AM EXPERIENCING BRAKE ISSUES. I'LL START MY CAR, IT WILL RUN FOR A FEW MINUTES TO WARM UP AND I WILL LEAVE MY PARKING SPACE. DRIVING ABOUT 5-15MPH WHEN I FIRST PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL THERE IS VERY, VERY, LIMITED TRAVEL, THEN THE PEDAL JUST STOPS (KIND OF FEELS LIKE A BRICK UNDERNEATH THE PEDAL). I CAN TELL THE BRAKES ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING TO STOP THE CAR. SO NATURALLY MY CAR WILL SLOW DOWN TO A STOP. I PRESS DOWN ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AGAIN AND IT'S STILL STUCK WITH VERY LITTLE TRAVEL. I'LL PUMP THE BRAKES AS BEST I CAN A FEW TIMES AND EVENTUALLY YOU CAN FEEL THE PEDAL SOFTEN. I KEEP DOING THIS AS IT PROGRESSIVELY GETS SOFTER AND EVENTUALLY RETURNS TO A NORMAL STATE. AS I DRIVE OFF ITS FINE FOR USUALLY THE REST OF THE DAY. IT ONLY RETURNS ONCE MY CAR SITS OUTSIDE IN OVERNIGHT COLD TEMPERATURE. THIS HAPPENS VERY OFTEN IN COLD WEATHER, AND ONLY IN COLD WEATHER. I HAVE READ OTHER ACURA OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE.
BOUGHT CAR NEW MAY 2008, MANUAL 6 SPEED. HAVE HAD MANY REPAIRS:BRAKES X4, ANTENNA, DRIVER'S SEAT MOLDING, AIR BAGS, ROOF MOLDING, FRONT WINDOW MOLDING. I STILL LOVE DRIVING CAR DESPITE THE CAR GULPING QUARTS OF OIL AND NO SOURCE OF OIL LOSS HAS BEEN DETERMINED. BEGAN HAVING DIFFICULTY SHIFTING GEARS 09/2013. TOOK TO TROY ACURA TOLD CLUTCH OK. CLUTCH FAILED COMPLETELY ABOUT 3 WEEKS LATER ON I-75, COULD NOT GET OUT OF 2ND GEAR. REPLACED WITH ACURA PARTS $1761 REPAIR COSTS ON 10/30/2013. AROUND JUNE 2014, CLUTCH WOULD EITHER DEPRESS RAPIDLY OR WAS VERY HARD TO DEPRESS AT TIMES. I ATTRIBUTED THIS TO VARIABLE WEATHER ( VERY HOT ALTERNATING WITH DAMP RAINY) SINCE CLUTCH NOT YEAR OLD. DEVELOPED LOUD,RATTLING VIBRATION IN STEERING DURING ACCELERATION ON LANE CHANGES 10/2013. TOLD THAT BOTH DRIVE SHAFTS BAD AND HAD SEIZED INTO HUB. SURPRISED SINCE I HAD ZERO WARNING THAT A PROBLEM EXISTED. PAID $2138 FOR REPAIRS. ASKED JEFFREY HONDA/ACURA TO CHECK CONDITION OF CLUTCH BECAUSE IT WAS SLIPPING, DIFFICULT TO ENGAGE AT TIMES. INFORMED CLUTCH STARTING TO SHOW WEAR/AIR IN SYSTEM AND MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. TOLD JEFFREY HONDA/ACURA CLUTCH REPLACED 10/2013! THEY THOUGHT IT WAS ORIGINAL PART. TOLD TO TAKE IT BACK TO TROY ACURA. TROY TOLD ME THAT WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED (12,000 MILES OR ONE YEAR) AND I WOULD HAVE TO AGREE TO $995 FEE TO HAVE PROBLEM INVESTIGATED AND COST OF REPAIRS SINCE WARRANTY NO LONGER VALID. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE WITHOUT ME AGREEING TO COVER COSTS OF INVESTIGATION. I DISAGREED WITH THEM. MANAGER AT TROY SUGGESTED THAT I LOOK IN ACURA HANDBOOK FOR 800 NUMBER AND CONTACT ACURA CLIENT SERVICES BECAUSE HE DID NOT HAVE NUMBER TO CALL SINCE I HAD ALREADY DECLINED TO HAVE PROBLEM INVESTIGATED BY THEM. THIS WAS POOR WORKMANSHIP OR DEFECTIVE PART. ACURA AND TROY ACURA SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR SUCH BLATANT EARLY FAILURE ON CLUTCH. *TR
UPON LEAVING HOME ON A COLD MARCH MORNING, I DROVE THROUGH MY COMPLEX TO THE MAIN ROAD. AS I APPROACHED THE FIRST MAIN INTERSECTION, THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TURNED RED. WHEN I APPLIED MY BRAKE, THE PEDAL WOULD NOT GO DOWN - IT WAS HARD TO THE TOUCH. AS MY CAR CONTINUED TOWARD - AND THEN INTO - THE INTERSECTION, I TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES TO APPLY THE BRAKE, UNTIL EVENTUALLY THE PEDAL RESPONDED, THE BRAKES ENGAGED, AND MY CAR CAME TO A STOP. IT IS NOW A YEAR LATER, AND MY CAR HAS DONE THIS 3 TIMES. ON THE DAY OF THE FIRST INCIDENT, MY BRAKES WERE INSPECTED AND NO PROBLEMS WERE FOUND. MY DEALERSHIP CLAIMED TO HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE, AND TRIED TO CONVINCE ME THAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN MY ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ENGAGING. A YEAR PASSED BEFORE THE SECOND INCIDENT. AFTER CONSULTING WITH THE COMPANY TECH LINE, MY BRAKE BOOSTER WAS REPLACED. TWO WEEKS LATER, IT HAPPENED A THIRD TIME. MY CAR IS STILL IN THE SHOP AWAITING REPAIR. I'M TOLD THAT THE COMPANY TECH LINE DETERMINED THAT MY DEALERSHIP SHOULD REPLACE THE SUPPLY LINE/CHECK VALVE, BUT THE PART IS ON BACK-ORDER. AS OF YET, THERE IS NO ESTIMATE OF COMPLETION. NO ONE AT ACURA HAS BEEN ABLE TO ANSWER MY SPECIFIC QUESTIONS AS TO EXACT CAUSE. THEY SPECULATE THAT MOISTURE GETS INTO THE LINE AND FREEZES, BUT NO ONE CAN TELL ME WHY THE BRAKES WILL WORK SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE SEIZING UP AND FAILING. MY ACURA DEALERSHIP HAS NO EXPERIENCE IN THIS MATTER AND CONTINUES TO CONSULT THEIR TECH LINE TO DETERMINE COURSE OF ACTION; HOWEVER, I AM NOT PERMITTED TO SPEAK WITH ANYONE AT THAT TECH LINE TO ATTEMPT TO GET MY QUESTIONS ANSWERED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ON ROUTE 80 IN PATERSON, NJ ON 8/5/13, I HEARD A LOUD POP THAT SOUNDED LIKE A GUN AND LOOKED UP TO SEE THE SUNROOF HAS SHATTERED ON MY 2009 ACURA TSX FOR NO REASON. IT WAS A CLEAR SUNNY DAY AND THERE WERE NO CARS AROUND ME. I CALLED ACURA'S CORPORATE OFFICE THEY ARE DENYING ANY RESPONSIBILITY AN SAID SOMETHING MUST HAVE HIT IT EVEN THOUGHT THERE WAS NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME OR AROUND ME, I WAS ON A CLEAR STRETCH OF HIGHWAY. THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND A SAFETY HAZARD, I NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE TO GET RESOLUTION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 ACURA TSX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DESCENDING A STEEP HILL, SHE ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES BUT THEY FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND DOWN SHIFTED TO SLOW THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE BRAKES HAD FAILED DUE TO EXCESSIVE HEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,300.
RECIEVED A EMAIL ABOUT AN AIR BAG THAT WAS RECENTLY PURCHASE, THAT THE AIR BAG MAY BE A COUNTERFEIT FROM A SELLER ON EBAY. *TR
WHEN I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR MAINTENANCE LAST YEAR (9/11) THEY MENTIONED THAT AT MY NEXT SERVICE VISIT I MAY NEED BRAKES. I WAS ASTOUNDED GIVEN THE LOW MILEAGE AND THE FACT THAT ALL MY PAST CARS NEVER NEEDED BRAKES THIS SOON. THE CAR WAS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD. I RECENTLY TOOK MY TSX IN FOR B12 SERVICE (5/12) WHICH COST OVER $400. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT I WOULD NEED REPLACEMENT BRAKES SO DID NOT AUTHORIZE IT. I ONLY HAVE 25,000 MILES. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE CLAIMED IT WAS MY DRIVING STYLE. EVERYONE SAID IT WAS JUST THE DEALERSHIP ADVISING UNNECESSARY WORK. THE NEXT DAY AFTER SERVICE MY LEFT REAR WHEEL STARTED TO SQUEAL. WHEN THEY REMOVED THE TIRES FOR THE B12 SERVICE THEY EVIDENTLY PUT THE DEFECTIVE PAD BACK ON INCORRECTLY. THAT DAY, I MENTIONED MY BRAKE ISSUE TO A FRIEND AND THEY INFORMED ABOUT THE DEFECT AND THE CLASS ACTION SUITE. OF COURSE THE SERVICE REPS KNEW ALL ALONG AND NEVER TOOK RESPONSIBILITY. THEY COULD HAVE OFFERED ME A DISCOUNT ON THE BRAKES AND EXPLAINED THE ISSUE THEY WERE HAVING WITH THE 2009 TSX BRAKES. THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. ADDITIONALLY, I NOTICED A RUST SPOT ON MY PASSENGER SIDE BELOW THE DOOR THEIR YEAR (4/12). I HAVE HAD NO ACCIDENTS. I THOUGHT WITH MODERN METALS AND PAINTS THIS ISSUE NO LONGER EXISTED. PARTICULARLY WITH A NEW CAR AND A ACURA. ONCE AGAIN THEY BLAMED ME AND SAID IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY. THERE MUST HAVE HAD A "IMPACT". NONE THAT WAS VISIBLE OF COURSE.
