AUDI OF ROANOKE (2006 PETERS CREEK RD, ROANOKE, VA) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.

NUMEROUS CALLS HAVE BEEN MADE TO BOTH THE AUDI USA NUMBER AS WELLS TO AUDI HONOLULU @ 808-206-7404. THEY INSIST THAT THEY WILL NOT INSTALL THE REPLACEMENT AIRBAG UNLESS I PAY $820.00 EACH WAY TO SHIP MY VEHICLE TO HONOLULU TO HAVE SAID REPAIR MADE. I DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE AIRBAG BEING DEFECTIVE IN MY AUDI AND DO NOT THINK ITS FAIR THAT TO FIX THIS PROBLEM, I HAVE T PAY $1,640.00 PLUS THE TIME WITHOUT MY VEHICLE TO HAVE THIS RECALL COMPLETED
TAKATA RECALL. NUMEROUS CALLS HAVE BEEN PLACED TO AUDI USA WITH ONLY THE PROMISE OF HAVING THE DEALER CLOSEST TO ME CONTACT ME. THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED.
TAKATA RECALL SINCE THIS RECALL NOTIFIED US AT THE BEGINNING OF 2017, WE HAVE NOT HEARD MUCH ABOUT GETTING THIS ISSUE RECTIFIED. IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT THIS IS ACCEPTABLE CONSIDERING THE RISK THAT MAY COME ABOUT. THIS IS MY WIFE'S CAR.

EVERY TIME I FLOOR THE GAS PEDAL TO PASS SOMEONE ON THE HIGHWAY THE ACCELERATOR STICK AND SPEEDS UP BY ITSELF NEED TO TAP THE PEDAL OR THE BRAKES TO GET CONTROL.
I RECEIVED AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT SAYS IGNITION LOCK ERROR WITH THIS ISSUE IT CAUSES THE STEERING COLUMN TO LOCK WHILE DRIVING WHICH CAN CAUSE A SEVERE ACCIDENT

TAKATA RECALL: AUDI SAYS THAT NHTSA IS NOT DISTRIBUTING FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAGS TO AUDI. IT HAS BEEN 6 MONTHS SINCE I WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. MEANWHILE I AM NOT SUPPOSED TO USE THE PASSENGER SEAT (!) LEAVING ME WITH KINDA HALF A CAR. TAKATA RECALL. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM AUDI THAT STATES "A RECALL REPAIR IS NOT YET AVAILABLE". THEY RECOMMEND A WORK AROUND OF "AVOIDING USE OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WHENEVER POSSIBLE UNTIL THE RECALL REPAIR HAS BEEN REPAIRED". WHAT'S TAKING SO LONG? AREN'T PEOPLES LIVES AT RISK?
TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL - SIX MONTHS AFTER AUDI'S NOTICE OF POTENTIAL FATAL CONSEQUENCES WAS RECEIVED BY THIS ORIGINAL OWNER, AND AUDI'S RECOMMENDATION THAT FOR SAFETY REASONS THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT NOT BE OCCUPIED, WE CALLED AUDI "CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE", AS RECOMMENDED ON THE NOTICE, IF THERE WERE ANY CONCERNS. AFTER INQUIRING ABOUT THE DELAY IN REMEDIATION, THE AUDI REPRESENTATIVE TOLD US THAT THIS IS A 'LOW RISK' RECALL, AND THAT PARTS ARE NOT YET AVAILABLE'. PLEASE REPLY AS TO WHAT ACTION THE GOVERNMENT WILL BE TAKING TO PUSH FOR A RESOLUTION OF THIS ISSUE ' MEANING OUR SPECIFIC AUDI.

SPECIFICALLY, "REMEDY: REPAIR SOLUTION PENDING" AND "RECALL STATUS: RECALL INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE". THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. EVERYTHING IN LIMBO, AUDI RECOMMENDS NOT USING FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. BASICALLY I HAVE A ONE PERSON CAR. IF I TRIED TO SELL IT I WOULD NOT GET FAIR MARKET VALUE DUE TO THE PENDING RECALL, NOR WOULD I TRY TO SELL IT TO AN UNSUSPECTING PERSON. THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED NOW BEFORE THERE IS AN ACCIDENT.

MY KEY GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION SWITCH WHEN VEHICLE IS IN PARK.
TAKATA RECALL - THE NEAREST AUDI DEALER IS 125 MILES AWAY. I HAVE A RECALL NOTICE BUT HAVE SPENT APPROXIMATELY $6,000 ON ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IN VAIN AND CANNOT TRUST THE CAR TO MAKE IT TO THE DEALER TO REPAIR THE AIRBAG.. THEN THERE IS THE PROBLEM OF TRUSTING THE AIRBAG IN THE TIME I DRIVE TO THE NEAREST DEALER NOT WITH STANDING THE AIR BAG PROBLEM ALONE. IN REGARD TO THE ELECTRICAL FAILURES, I WAS NEARLY RUN OVER BY A SEMI AT FREEWAY SPEED WHEN THE ENGINE SUDDENLY STOPPED. THE PROBLEM COMES AND GOES LIKE A GHOST IS INVOLVED AND NOBODY HAS BEEN ABLE TO PROPERLY REPAIR IT. AT ONE MECHANICAL SHOP I LOST A WINDSHIELD AND AT ANOTHER I LOST A TAILLIGHT WITH REPLACE COST OVER $392.00. WHAT CAN I DO WITH ALL OF THE ABOVE CONSIDERED? I CANNOT SELL THE CAR DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS FOR THE NEXT OWNER AND HAVE SUFFERED A LARGE DEPRECIATION. THIS PROBLEM CAN OCCUR ANYTIME BUT MOST OFTEN WHEN GOING ACROSS A SPEED BUMP OR UPON A ROUGH STREET. IT HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES OVER THE PAST THREE YEARS. THE DATE I GIVE BELOW IS BEST GUESS.
THE CAR WAS PARKED, AND THE STEERING MODULE BROKE DOWN. IT COMPLETELY DISABLED THE VEHICLE. IT WILL NOT START, THE GEARS WILL NOT CHANGE, AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT MOVE. AUDI DEALER SAID IT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR MODEL, AND THERE ARE NO RECALLS. THE MODULE IS A VERY EXPENSIVE, AND AFTER CALLING AUDI WARRANTY THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. NO ONE RETURNED A PHONE CALL AFTER ATTEMPTING TO LEAVE A MESSAGE FOR THE SUPERVISOR.
STEERING WHEEL ON THE AUDI A6 LOCKED IN THE PARK POSITION (UP) AND WILL NOT RETURN. *TR
THE FRONT HEADLIGHTS FOR THIS VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY FAIL AND THEN WORK AGAIN. INVESTIGATION REVEALED FRAYED, SHORTED OUT, DAMAGED, WIRING INSIDE OF THE HEADLIGHTS. THE INSULATION ON MANY WIRES INSIDE THE HEADLIGHTS ARE CRACKED, MISSING, FAILED AND THE BARE COPPER OR CONDUCTORS TOUCHING OTHER NEARBY CONDUCTORS. I'VE MADE CONTACT WITH AUDI TWICE NOW FOR A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE HEADLIGHTS. TWICE, I'VE BEEN TOLD EITHER THEY WEREN'T INTERESTED OR WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING. OUTSIDE OF ANY REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT REQUESTS, I WOULD EXPECT AUDI TO TAKE INTEREST WHEN A CUSTOMER BRINGS A SAFETY ISSUE TO THEIR ATTENTION. I WOULD THINK FAULTY WIRING INSIDE BOTH HEADLIGHTS ON A MODEL-YEAR 2007 WOULD BE A SAFETY CONCERN. IF I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT NIGHT OR IN THE RAIN AND MY HEADLIGHTS SHORT OUT AND FAIL, I WOULDN'T BE IN A GOOD POSITION. I'VE WORKED IN MANUFACTURING FOR 10 YEARS NOW, AND SAFETY OF WORKERS AND OF THE PRODUCTS MADE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THE #1 CONCERN. THIS INFORMATION SHOULD BE TREATED AS AN AMAZING OPPORTUNITY TO DETERMINE A ROOT CAUSE AND PREVENT FUTURE OCCURRENCES IN NEW VEHICLES. IT'S NOT OFTEN INFORMATION IS PRESENTED SO EASILY. THIS WOULD POSSIBLY SAVE THE COMPANY MONEY IN WARRANTY REPLACEMENTS, AND ELIMINATE THE RISK OF CRASHES OR INJURY DUE TO FAILURES. BUT, THE INFORMATION SO FAR HAS BEEN TREATED AS A DISMISSIVE CUSTOMER REQUEST/COMPLAINT. ENGINE WILL NOT START, IGNITION CANNOT BE TURNED ON, AND IN SOME CASES THE KEY CANNOT BE REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH. STEERING WHEEL AND TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVER LOCKS IN CURRENT POSITION, MAKING TOWING ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT. AUDI IS WELL AWARE OF THIS INCREASINGLY COMMON PROBLEM AND ISSUED A TSB ON 11/25/2008, #2012483/5 TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM BY REPLACING THE "IMMOBILIZER CONTROL UNIT" WITH AN REVISED AND IMPROVED UNIT. REPAIR COSTS EXCEED $1500 WHEN CAR IS NO LONGER COVERED BY WARRANTY. FOR SOMETHING SO IMPORTANT TO THE SAFETY AND USE OF THE VEHICLE, THIS FAILURE IS UNACCEPTABLE ON EVERY LEVEL. PURCHASED USED AUDI 2007 A6 WITH 30K MILES AND MANUFACTURER WARRANTY. CAR STARTED JERKING AND STALLING ON ACCELERATION. TOOK TO DEALER 3 TIMES, EVERY TIME THEY SAY THEIR HANDS ARE TIED BY "AUDI CORPORATE" AND ALL THEY CAN DO IS CLEAN THE VALVE OR CHANGE THE FLUID. THE CAR SUDDENLY STARTED JERKING WITH NO ACCELERATION, SHE NEARLY GOT SANDWICHED BETWEEN A SEMI-TRUCK AND A MINI VAN FULL OF CHILDREN. MULTIPLE DEALERSHIP STAFF AND TECHNICIANS INDICATED "A6 2007 TRANSMISSIONS ARE DEFECTIVE AND FREQUENTLY REQUIRE REPLACING, UNFORTUNATELY THE MANUFACTURER WILL REFUSE TO DO THIS UNTIL YOU COME BACK 4-5 TIMES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM." *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 AUDI A6. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE TIRE UNEXPECTEDLY BECAME FLAT. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH A SPARE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A DEFECT WHEEL RIM. THE VIN WAS NOT ACCEPTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 51,000.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: WE ARE A GROUP OF OWNERS WHO BOUGHT THE AUDI ALLROAD 2.7 QUATTRO WITH THE TIPTRONIC TRANSMISSION. WE ARE WRITING TO REPORT A PROBLEM RELATED TO THE TIPTRONIC SYSTEM. WE HAVE NOTICED SIGNIFICANT HESITATION WHEN WE LAUNCH THE CAR FROM A STOP. WHEN THE CAR IS COMPLETELY STOPPED, AND THE DRIVER STEPS ON THE GAS PEDAL, A LAG OF 1-3 SECONDS IS OBSERVED. WITHIN THIS TIME RANGE, THE CAR JUST IDLES AS-IS WITHOUT MOVING FORWARD. THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENS WHEN THE DRIVER ATTEMPTS TO ACCELERATE FROM 10-30. USING THE S MODE (IF EQUIPPED) DOESN'T COMPLETELY FIX THIS PROBLEM. WE CONSIDER THIS TO BE A SAFETY HAZARD FOR BOTH ALLROAD DRIVERS AND OTHER PEOPLE ON THE ROAD. A COMMON SCENARIO IS THAT WHEN A DRIVER ATTEMPTS TO MERGE ONTO A MAIN ROAD, AN INTERSECTION OR FREEWAY AND ANTICIPATES SMOOTH ACCELERATION, NOTHING HAPPENS AND THE CAR IS PRONE TO BEING REAR-ENDED OR SANDWICHED. WE UNDERSTAND THAT THIS PROBLEM ONLY OCCURS IN CARS EQUIPPED WITH THE TIPTRONIC TRANSMISSION. IN ADDITION, THIS PROBLEM IS NOT SPECIFIC TO THE ALLROAD, BUT ALSO OTHER AUDI MODELS WITH THE TIPTRONIC TRANSMISSION. WE CONCLUDE THAT THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE "TURBO LAG" OF THE 2.7T ENGINE AS SOME DEALERS INCLINE TO BELIEVE. AUDI 3.2 ENGINE ON A 2007 AUDI A6 (AND SAME ENGINE ON A4 AND OTHER MODELS) HESITATES DURING ACCELERATION, ESPECIALLY FROM A STAND-STILL, SUCH AS A STOP SIGN. DEALER STATES THAT THE POWERTRAIN IS DESIGNED THIS WAY, AND THAT IT IS EITHER THE FSI ENGINE WHICH HAS A CARBON BUILDUP, OR THE CVT TRANSMISSION. EITHER WAY, THE HESITATION AND 2-3 SECOND DELAY IS PROBLEMATIC WHEN AT 4-WAY STOPS, OR WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN IN FRONT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE DELAY CAN LEAD TO ACCIDENTS. "DIPPED HEADLIGHT" WARNING APPEAR. IT DOESN'T FLICKER OR ANYTHING, IT JUST TURNS OFF. WHEN I MANUALLY TURN MY LIGHTS OFF AND BACK ON, IT WORKS FINE FOR A WHILE THE IT STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN. I'VE BEEN READING MANY FORUMS ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND DISCOVERED IT'S NOT AS SIMPLE AS A BULB CHANGE.
