The vehicle is leaking fuel like it did before the recall in 2016. Fuel puddle under car after sitting for 3 minutes huge safety problem. The recall was done 9 years after the car was sold and it’s been 9 years since the recall was done and the problem came back, meaning it was never actually fixed, since it lasted the exact same time it took to break the first time.
Water leakage into the driver’s side floor panel. Water leakage seeped into battery compartment below driver’s seat which is a result of a sunroof drain problem. New Battery was installed for only 3 months before the low battery charge warning light came on. Car will not start at times. Water leakage into electrical components that lead to the MMI not turning on or working at all. The MMI shut off first, then the battery became faulty. The car has been jumped at least 10 times due to the water damage, which proposes a risk to the driver. The electrical components are being flooded, which is a safety issue and proposes a safety hazard to the driver and all passengers. The electrical is at risk for further damage. This problem has been reported by others many times. Other warning lights such as the air bag light comes on and goes off, which is a safety risk if the air bags are faulty and the driver cannot tell if the malfunction is electronics based caused by water damage.
This started happening in the last 2 mos. My MMI started acting up, it first displayed radio not installed, then it would stall and not show anything on screen, then it came back on to regular showing but then went out again and displaying radio not installed. Then at one point I was able to play my CDs but not my radio. Then finally the complete system went out, now the screen only shows the MMI logo and will not turn on and cant not be reset. So as this has happen, my fuel tank area started to drips tiny drops of gas only happens when I drove it, so now it is leaking even more fuel so I have it sitting in drive way until I get it into the shop. While its been sitting in the drive way for the last 2 weeks, I would occasionally start it but this last time I started it my battery went dead and it started leaking even more gas after I got it jumped. As long as it is not on it does not leak gas.
This is a known typical problem with these suvs. Rear sunroof drain leaks directly onto amplifier causing electrical issues throughout the entire vehicle. My vehicle actually filled up with smoke when it dried the amplifier. All mmi functions are lost. Why has this not been fixed by Audi on their dime. Dealer wants almost $4000 to fix the problem. What does it take to get a recall for this. An electrical fire or loss of life? This is the second time I’ve had this issue
Vehicle was difficult to stop as power assist to braking system did not seem to be working
The contact owns a 2007 Audi Q7. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the vehicle stalled intermittently, and failed to return to normal operation. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was self-diagnosed by the contact, and the contact determined that the steering column lock module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 139,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Audi Q7. The vehicle had previously been serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V660000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed there was fuel leaking onto the ground. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with a fuel pump flange leak. The fuel pump flange needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V818000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.
FUEL LINKING & THE SMELL IS INSIDE THE CAR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 AUDI Q7. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PANORAMIC SUN ROOF SEAL WAS LEAKING, CAUSING WATER TO DRIP ONTO THE ELECTRICAL WIRING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 190,000.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK AS I WAS LEAVING OUT OF THE HOUSE GOING TO START THE CAR IT WOULD NOT START AND KEY HAD GOT STUCK IN IGNITION. I THEN TOWED TO HENDERSON AUDI WHERE THEY EXPLAINED THE STEERING COLUMN WAS THE REASON FOR THIS. THEY ALSO GAVE ME NOTICE THAT THEY HAVE GOTTEN THIS PROBLEM MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. DEAR NHTSA TEAM. MY VEHICLE DEMONSTRATED A FUEL SMELL IN SEPTEMBER 2020. I ALERTED AUDI THAT I BELIEVED IT WAS COVERED UNDER EITHER 20W9 OR 20BJ. THEY SAID IT WAS NOT. I TOOK IT TO A PRIVATE REPAIR SHOP THAT CHARGED ME $71 TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE REPAIR SHOP (TEAM PREVIOUSLY WORKED FOR AUDI) SHARED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS COVERED UNDER A RECALL. I THEN TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALER AND AUDI FIXED IT UNDER THE RECALL. I SOUGHT REIMBURSEMENT OF MY DIAGNOSIS FEE OF $71 FOR OVER THREE MONTHS. AUDI FAILED TO RESPOND ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHEN I FIRST RAISED THE ISSUE, AND LATER WHEN I SOUGHT REIMBURSEMENT. FINALLY, ON 12/16/20 I WAS ADVISED THAT AUDI WOULD NOT REIMBURSE THE DIAGNOSIS FEE NOTWITHSTANDING THE REPAIR WAS COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. THEY ALSO ALLOWED THE UNSAFE SITUATION TO CONTINUE FOR WEEKS BY REFUSING TO REPAIR UNDER THE RECALL. I BRING THIS TO YOUR ATTENTION AS A SAFETY ISSUE FROM A PROTOCOL STANDPOINT, AND ASK FOR YOUR HELP IN SECURING MY $71 REIMBURSEMENT, WHICH I FEEL FALLS UNDER EITHER OF THE RECALL CAMPAIGNS FOR THIS VEHICLE AND THIS RECALL ISSUE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 AUDI Q7. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHILE PERFORMING A ROUTINE CHECK, BECAME AWARE OF FUEL LEAKING UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FLANGE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL ODOR IN THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING PRIOR TO THE VEHICLE BEING INSPECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. ED CARROLL PORSCHE (3003 SOUTH COLLEGE AVENUE, FORT COLLINS, CO 80525) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V660000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) IN 2016. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V818000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, OFFERED NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 121,000.
there is a gas odor that is overwhelming when the truck starts. the gas mix with oil fumes will cause headaches because the odor comes into the vents of the truck and does not stop until after the truck is turned off. when the vehicle is turned off there is a hissing sound in the engine that does not stop until after 15min the engine stays off. There is no overheating but the engine is hotter then most trucks when running.
TURNED ON THE CAR AND WITHIN A FEW MINUTES SMOKE FILLED UP THE WHOLE CAR. THE SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE REAR WIPER FROM THE INSIDE. SEEMS TO BE COMING FROM THE WIPER MOTOR BUT CAN'T TELL UNTIL I TAKE THE PLASTIC COVER OFF. STARTED SMOKING IMMEDIATELY EVERY TIME I TURNED THE CAR ON, TESTED IT A TOTAL OF 3 TIMES. STRANGE CARAMEL COLORED RESIDUE LEFT ON THE BACK WINDOW FROM THE INSIDE. SMELLS TERRIBLE. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY THE WHOLE TOME AND PARKED IN A NEIGHBORHOOD. SURPRISED A FIRE DIDN'T START BECAUSE OF THE AMOUNT OF SMOKE. SOME RESEARCH ON THIS SAYING SOME PEOPLE HAD AN ACTUAL FIRE INSIDE THE CAR.
OIL PUMP BOLT LOSE TIMING CHAIN RATTLING LOSE OIL PRESSURE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 AUDI Q7. WHILE THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE RADIO STOPPED FUNCTIONING. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PREMIER AUTOMOTIVE (LOCATED AT 2516 FORT CAMPBELL BLVD, HOPKINSVILLE, KY 42240, (270) 886-6144) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUN ROOF DRAINED INTO THE AMPLIFIER AND THE SUN ROOF DRAIN NEEDED TO BE RESTRUCTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WE TOOK THE CAR TO GET CHECKED OUT AND THEY SAID THAT THE FUEL PUMP IS NEEDING TO BE REPLACED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 AUDI Q7. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ODOR OF FUEL WAS PRESENT INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. ALSO, THE AVERAGE FUEL MILEAGE DECREASED WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE AND THE DRIVER DISCOVERED A PUDDLE OF FUEL UNDER THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FLANGE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER (CONCORD AUDI, 1300 CONCORD AVE, CONCORD, CA) WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V660000 (FUEL SYSTEM) IN NOVEMBER OF 2016; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE STILL OCCURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
TANAKA RECALL MY CAR KEEPS LEAKING GAS. I PAID A MECHANIC TO FIX THE ISSUE AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN 2 MOMTHS LATER. IT HAS A SMELL OF GASOLINE THAT GIVES HEADACHES.
THE REAR SUNROOF LEAKS AROUND THE SEAL AND LEAKS DOWN INTO THE ELECTRONICS OF THE CAR. THE DRAIN TUBES ARE RAN THROUGH THE ELECTRONICS COMPARTMENT CAUSING IT TO SHORT OUT THE SYSTEM AND CAUSING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND TIRE SENSOR LIGHTS TO COME ON AND NOT BE ABLE TO BE RESET. THE SUNROOF NOT ONLY LEAKS FROM THE DRAIN TUBES BUT ALSO AROUND THE SEAL, ALSO CAUSING THE WATER TO DRAIN INTO THE ELECTRICAL COMPARTMENT WHICH CAUSES THE SAME ISSUE EVEN AFTER THE DRAIN TUBES ARE REPAIRED. YOU CAN FIND THIS ISSUE LISTED ALL OVER THE INTERNET HELP SITES AS WELL AS YOU TUBE. THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL VEHICLE, AND IS A DESIGN FLAW THAT AUDI IS REFUSING TO FIX AND PASSING ON THE COST TO THE CONSUMER. TO REPAIR THE AMP AND WATER LEAK IS UPWARDS OF $6000. THE CONSUMER SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ASSUMING THE EXPENSE OF A MANUFACTURER DESIGN FLAW. THE LEAK OCCURS IN THE REAR SUNROOF OF THIS MODEL AUDI AND IS A ISSUE THAT IS LISTED ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND AUDI HAS NOT MADE IT A RECALL.
AFTER GOING THROUGH A CAR WASH AND DRIVING BACK HOME I NOTICED THE AUDIO IN MY VEHICLE JUST COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. THERE IS ONLY THE "MUTE" BUTTON STUCK ON THE DASHBOARD AND THERE IS NO SOUND COMING FROM THE MMI SYSTEM AT ALL. ALSO WHEN I TURN OFF THE VEHICLE YOU CAN HEAR THE PHONE BUSY SOUND COMING FROM INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE SOMEWHERE SO CLEARLY SOMETHING WAS WRONG. ONCE I GOT BACK HOME AND PARKED THE VEHICLE I DID A VISUAL INSPECTION AND FOUND THE REAR RIGHT AREA SOAKED WITH WATER , THERE WAS AN OVERWHELMING SMELL AS IF SOMETHING ELECTRICAL HAD MELTED OR CAUGHT FIRE. THE NEXT DAY I CONTINUED TO SMELL THIS FAINT BURNT WIRE SMELL WHICH DEFINITELY CONCERNED ME. KEEP IN MIND MY AUDIO IS NO LONGER WORKING AT THIS POINT AND HAS NOT RETURNED I BEGAN TO REMOVE ALL THE ITEMS IN THE REAR LIFT GATE PORTION OF THE VEHICLE AND STARTED TO DISASSEMBLE THE REAR RIGHT SIDE TO INVESTIGATE IF IN FACT ANYTHING HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE OR HAS THE POTENTIAL TO DO SO. WHAT I FOUND WAS, THE BOSE AMPLIFIER WAS COMPLETELY DRENCHED AND OTHER ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS DOWN ON THAT SIDE WERE WET AS WELL IT LOOKS TO BE A BACKUP IN THE DRAIN TUBES. AFTER LOOKING ON MULTIPLE FORUMS ON THE INTERNET I FOUND THAT THIS IS REOCCURRING ISSUE WITH THIS PARTICULAR YEAR AND MODEL Q7 THAT AUDI IS WELL AWARE OF BUT SURPRISINGLY NO ONE HAS STARTED A CAMPAIGN TO HAVE THIS ISSUE ADDRESSED. MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS THAT IT CAN POTENTIALLY START A FIRE IN THE REAR DO TO THIS OBVIOUS DESIGN DEFECT AND ALSO MY ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS HAVE BEEN DAMAGED BY THIS DESIGN DEFECT. PLEASE HELP!!!!!! MY CAR STARTED TO HAVE SMELL OF EXHAUST. IT STARTED THREE DAYS AGO WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THE DAY AFTER A LIGHT OF WIPER DEFECTIVE SHOWED UP. THEN THE FUEL DOOR COULDN'T OPEN FROM THE INSIDE, I HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY FUEL RELEASE TO OPEN THE DOOR. THE SMELL IS ALL THE TIME (PARKED OR IN MOTION).
FUEL LINE LEAK OCCURRED DURING OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE ON 11/24/18. FIRST A FUEL SMELL WAS DETECTED IN THE VEHICLE AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AT WASHINGTON RD AND RT 1 (THIS SMELL WAS AT FIRST ASSOCIATED WITH A TANKER TRUCK REFUELING AN ADJACENT SERVICE STATION), THEN ON THE HIGHWAY ENGINE KNOCKING BEGAN TO OCCUR WITH A BLINKING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WHEN ACCELERATING. UPON PARKING THE VEHICLE, A POOL OF FUEL WAS IMMEDIATELY DETECTED BELOW THE ENGINE BLOCK FROM FUEL DRIPPING OFF OF THE ENGINE BLOCK. UPON OPENING THE HOOD THE ENGINE BLOCK WAS COVERED WITH FUEL - IDENTIFIED BY TOUCH AND SMELL - ADDITIONALLY THE INSULATION ON THE CEILING OF THE HOOD HAD A WET SPOT 1 FT SQ DARKENED BY SATURATION WITH FUEL. RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND NOTED FUEL WAS SPRAYING FROM THE FUEL PUMP TOWARDS THE FRONT OF THE VEHCILE AND UPWARDS TOWARDS THE HOOD. THE ENGINE WAS IMMEDIATELY CUT OFF AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUDI DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR.
MY VEHICLE STOPPED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.
STRONG FUEL SMELL EMITTING FROM OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE AND INSIDE AFTER RUNNING ENGINE. FUEL PUMP LOCATED UNDER 2ND ROW PASSENGER SEAT SPRAYING FUEL THROUGH PLASTIC CAP WHICH IS CRACKED. 2009 RE-2012 RECALL DOES NOT COVER 2007-2008>???
AFTER LEAVING WORK ONE DAY, MY ESP & ABS LIGHT CAME ON. EVERYTHING WAS FINE WHEN I DROVE INTO WORK IN THE MORNING. THE CAR WAS PARKED ALL DAY AND THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON BEFORE I LEFT THE PARKING LOT. THE ESP LIGHT SHUT OFF THE NEXT MORNING HOWEVER THE ABS LIGHT STAYS ON CONSTANTLY.

The contact stated there was no rain, and the location of the leak was unknown. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure; however, the contact was informed they were not able to repair the vehicle due to the age of the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

THE CONTACT CALLED AUDI ONTARIO AT (866) 381-3591 (LOCATED AT 2272 INLAND EMPIRE BLVD, ONTARIO, CA 91764) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V660000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 149,600.
AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS LIT ON DASH BOARD, SAFETY STATION SAYS IT WILL PASS STATE INSPECTION (MASS) DUE TO AGE OF VEHICLE. MY MECHANIC CANNOT REMOVE THE SERVICE CODE WITH HIS COMPUTER? IT ALWAYS STAYS ON, I BOUGHT THE CAR 2 YEARS AGO AND IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN ON, AND IT ALWAYS BEEN SERVICED THOROUGHLY. MY MECHANIC SAYS IT'S PASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAG??
"TAKATA RECALL" THE SHIFTING GOES OUT WHEN DRIVING CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO JERK OR EVEN HOLT IN TRAFFIC. THE DASH LOCKS UP TO A BOLD RED. THIS CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO DRIVE AT A SLOWER SPEED AND CAN NOT GO ABOVE 45MPH. THEN THE FUEL STARTS TO SMELL UP THE WHOLE VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO (AUDI NORTH SCOTTSDALE, 7150 E PRINCESS DR, PHOENIX, AZ 85054), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD PAY $3,000 OF THE TOTAL REPAIR COST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 167,000.
LARGE FUEL LEAK IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT: WHILE STARTING THE VEHICLE IN A PARKING LOT, THE ENGINE WAS DIFFICULT TO START BUT THEN STARTED. THE DRIVER BEGAN TO DEPART BY BACKING OUT OF THE PARKING SPACE, THEN A STRONG GASOLINE SMELL WAS PRESENT, AS THE TWO FRONT WINDOWS WERE ROLLED DOWN. THE FRONT PASSENGER NOTICED LIQUID FLOWING OUT FROM UNDER THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WHILE THE CAR MOVED FORWARD BY ABOUT 2-3 PARKING SPACES. THE DRIVER IMMEDIATELY STOPPED, SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE AND INVESTIGATED. THE STRONG SMELLING LIQUID APPEARS TO BE GASOLINE LEAKING FROM UNDER THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON THE SPOT AS THE TWO OCCUPANTS EVACUATED THE VEHICLE. WHILE OUTSIDE, THE SOUND OF GASOLINE SPLASHING DOWN COULD BE HEARD. A TOW TRUCK WAS CALLED, AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP PERSONNEL HELPED PUSHED THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL GEAR (WITHOUT STARTING) INTO THE SERVICE AREA PENDING INSPECTION. DEALERSHIP REPORT SHOWED FUEL INJECTOR #1 LEAKING. SERVICE ADVISOR CONFIRMED IT WAS INJECTOR LEAK, NOT SEALS. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS FIRE RISK.
THERE SEEMS TO BE LEAKING FROM THE SUNROOF THAT LETS WATER INTO THE AMP. THE LEAK GOES INTO THE AMP AND CAUSES THE BATTERY TO DRAIN WHEN SITTING. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN KNOWN BY AUDI FOR A WHILE AND HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES AND FIX THE ISSUE. THE AVERAGE COST TO MAKE THE AMP AND ROOF REPAIR IS $4,500. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS. MY AUDI Q7 HAS A LEAK FROM THE SUNROOF, WHICH DAMAGED THE BOSE AMP, BECAUSE OF THAT, THE RADIO, BACKUP CAMERA, THE WHOLE MMI SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING. ALSO FOR THAT REASON THE BATTERY IS NOT HOLDING ENERGY, THE AMP IS DRAINING THE BATTERY. THIS IS AN FACTORY ISSUE, I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WILL COST OVER $4,000 TO FIX IT. AUDI OF AMERICA SHOULD DO A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE, WATER GETTING IN CONTACT WITH THE ELECTRICAL PART OF THE CAR IS A BIG HAZARD, IT CAN START A FIRE OR OTHER PARTS OF THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM COULD MALFUNCTION, AND COULD EVENTUALLY LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. I'M NOT SURE IF THIS WATER LEAK DAMAGE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG BUT I ALSO GETTING A LIGHT FOR THE AIRBAG ON THE CLUSTER.

THE CONTACT STATED THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS MAKING A LOUD THUMPING NOISE FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND THERE WAS FLUID LEAKING FORM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
I JUST TRIED TO START MY Q7 AND DIDN'T WANT TO START, THE AUTO STARTER WAS GOING FOR LIKE 4 SECONDS, SO I RETURN THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION TO STOP IT, AND A LOUD BANG AND SMOKE CAME OUT THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, WHEN I CHECK, I SAW THE SMOKE COMING OUT THE LOWER PART OF THE INTAKE MANIFORD, IT WAS SEPARATED FROM THE MAIN PIECE, I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS INTAKE GOT THIS USELESS PLASTIC COVER, BUT I REALLY NOT SURE WHAT COULD CAUSE THIS, I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND APPARENTLY IT CAME UNDONE FOR NOT APARENT REASON OTHER THAN A "BAD DESIGNED PART" THIS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS STARTING IT ON MY DRIVEWAY, BUT COULD HAPPEN ANYWHERE

"TAKATA RECALL" ON MY REGULAR DAILY ROUTINE, I TRIED TO TURN ON MY CAR THAT IT WAS PARKED ON MY DRIVEWAY. I TRIED TURNING MY CAR ON WHEN I HEARD A BIG POP SOUND, AFTER THAT BIG POP SOUND A CLOUD OF SMOKE FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR. WHEN I OPEN THE HOOD OF THE CAR I SAW THAT THE INTAKE MANIFOLD OF THE CAR WAS BROKEN INTO PIECES.
HEARD A LOUD "POP" THEN THERE WAS A STRONG SMELL OF FUEL COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENTS IN MY 2007 AUDI Q7 3.6L FSI WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND DID SOME INVESTIGATION AND FOUND THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM THE INJECTOR AND THE FUEL RAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A BUSY STREET WHEN THIS LEAK OCCURRED. THANKFULLY A SOMEONE NOTICED AND NOTIFIED ME THAT I WAS LEAKING SOMETHING WHICH TURN OUT TO BE FUEL. I WAS ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITH OCCURRED ON 01/19/2017 BY BUYING A INJECTOR SEAL KIT FROM THE DEALER. . UNFORTUNATELY I HAD ANOTHER INJECTOR FAIL ON ME ON 01/28/2017. DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THERE'S A RECALL FOR THE 2011-2015 MODEL OF THE Q7. MY WIFE USES THIS VEHICLE FOR HER NEEDS WITH 4 CHILDREN INSIDE. THIS IS COPIED FROM THE RECALL DONE WITH THE SIMILAR ISSUE IN THE NEWER MODEL. NHTSA ID: 15V019 SAFETY RECALL 24AP FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM LEAK CERTAIN 2011-2013 MODEL YEAR S4, S5, A6, A7 & Q7 WITH 3.0L TFSI ENGINE HOWEVER, A LATER ANALYSIS CONCLUDED IF THE FUEL INJECTOR VALVE IS OUT OF POSITION DURING DRIVING, A LEAK CAN OCCUR AT THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE FUEL RAIL AND THE INJECTOR. ANY FUEL NEAR AN IGNITION SOURCE WILL BE A SERIOUS FIRE RISK. SIMILAR RECALL WAS STARTED MARCH 10, 2015 FOR THE 2011-2015 MODELS. DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL RAILS AND SEALS. THERE IS A STEERING LOCK PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THAT THE STEERING COULD LOCK WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. THE SCANNER READS "STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR". PLEASE HAVE THIS ISSUE ADDRESSED.
THERE IS A FISSURE CRACK IN OIL TANK LOCATED UNDER THE ENGINE ALSO FUEL PUMP LEAK WHICH CAUSES THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL BOARD TO MISHAP ALSO THE TRUNK ELECTRIC DOORS SMASHED MY HEAD A FEW TIMES I HAVE TAKE THE CAR TO ONLY AUTHORIZED AUDI MECHANICS.
THE OIL PUMP BOLT VIBRATED LOOSE CAUSING TIMING GEAR AND CHAIN TO FALL OUT INSIDE ENGINE CAUSING CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE AND LOSS OF BRAKES AND POWER STEERING. WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET MOVING WITH TRAFFIC AND SUDDENLY THE ENGINE SILENTLY FAILS CAUSING LOSS OF POWER ASSIST BREAKS AND STEERING. THE CAR IS ALMOST SILENT SO I DID NOT REALIZE UNTIL I CAME UP TO A STOP LIGHT AND NEEDED TO BRAKE ALMOST CAUSING A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. IF YOU GOOGLE "OIL PUMP BOLT ISSUES" YOU WILL SEE THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF PASSATS AND AUDI 'S WITH 3.6 LITER ENGINES MANUFACTURED AT THE SAME FACTORY WITH THIS ISSUE. MOST OF THEM FAILED WHILE THE CARS WERE UNDER WARRANTY AND WERE FIXED QUIETLY BY THE DEALERS. THOSE OF US WHO WERE UNLUCKY ENOUGH TO BUY ONE THAT HAS NOT HAD THE "STRENGTHENED BOLT' INSTALLED OR ENGINE FAILURE PRIOR TO THE WARRANTY ARE DRIVING TICKING TIME BOMBS. THE BIG PROBLEM FOR THIS PART IS THAT IT IS LOCATED BEHIND A COVER IN SUCH A WAY THAT THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE PULLED IN ORDER TO REACH IT THIS IS AN EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE PREVENTATIVE STEP CLOSE TO 2 K OR MORE JUST TO CHECK FOR A BOLT. I WISH I HAD KNOWN PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING AS EVERY PLACE I'VE SPOKEN TO WANTS 15000 DOLLARS TO INSTALL ANOTHER ENGINE. I COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN KILLED IF I WAS GOING A LITTLE FASTER AND NEEDED TO STOP FAST.

I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM A DEALER ON NOVEMBER 19, 2016. IN LOOKING INTO RECALL NOTICES ASSOCIATED W/ THIS VIN IT STATED THAT THE RECALL WAS "INCOMPLETE." MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER WERE DRIVING ON A BUSY SECTION OF ROAD WHEN THE CAR DIED. NO ONE WAS HURT AND THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. A POLICE OFFICER PROVIDED SAFETY UNTIL THE TOW VEHICLE CAME. THE ISSUE IS A BLOWN ENGINE. THERE WAS NO INDICATION THAT THE ENGINE WAS FAILING AND IT APPEARS TO BE A TIMING CHAIN ISSUE. WE HAVE HAD ALL REQUIRED MAINTENANCE PERFORMED AT AUDI BUT IT IS PASS THE WARRANTY SO I AM GETTING NO SUPPORT FROM AUDI RECOGNIZING OR ADMITTING TO THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.

HI THERE, I HAD AN ISSUE WITH MY SOUND SYSTEM I.E. IN MY AUDI Q7, IT BASICALLY MUTED OFF AND I COULD NOT HEAR NOTHING (RADIO, AUDIO CD ETC.) AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. AFTER DIAGNOSIS, I WAS TOLD THAT MY MOON ROOF DRAIN TUBES WERE CLOGGED AS A RESULT RAIN WATER TRICKLED IN AND EVENTUALLY BLEW UP MY AMPLIFIER AND THE DEALER IS NOW CHARGING ME AN EXORBITANT (~$2500) PRICE TO FIX IT. I HAD NO OPTION BUT GET IT FIXED. BASED ON MY RESEARCH, I SEE THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE 2007 AUDI Q7 MODELS AND THAT IT WAS AUDI'S DECISION TO DEAL WITH THIS ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS IN PREFERENCE TO RECALLING ALL 07 PRODUCTION (UP TO A CERTAIN VIN) WITH SUNROOF FITTED. THEY HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR YEARS. THEIR ARGUMENT NOW IS THAT I HAVE NOT BEEN REGULAR AT SERVICING MY VEHICLE AT THE DEALER THEREFORE THEY CANT HELP WITH ASSISTING ME TO FIX IT AND ARE IN NO WAY LIABLE FOR IT. I WOULD ARGUE THAT THEY HAD A DUTY ALL ALONG TO FIX IT OR ADVISE ME OF THE POTENTIAL PROBLEM. I AM VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THE FACT IT WAS HIDDEN FROM ME AND CALLED THE AUDI CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY TELL ME THEY CANT HELP ME WITH THIS. I AM NOT SURE WHAT I FOUND ABOUT THE MOON ROOF DRAINS IS TRUE, BUT IF IT IS TRUE, THEN I THINK IT IS UNFAIR FOR AUDI TO HIDE THE FAULTY DRAINS FROM THEIR CUSTOMERS AND AUDI SHOULD BE LIABLE FOR IT...
