THE CAR STALLS WHEN YOU ACCELERATE FROM A STOP AND YOU ARE MAKING A LEFT OR RIGHT HAND TURN. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE YEARS AND HAPPENS WITHOUT WARNING. TODAY IT STALLED IN A PARKING LOT BUT THE LAST FEW TIMES IT HAS STALLED IN AN INTERSECTION CREATING A POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. WE HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES BUT THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIND THE PROBLEM.

AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE GIVEN. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
I GOT THIS RECALL LAST YEAR...I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP HERE IN CLEAR LAKE HOUSTON, AND I WAS TOLD THEY DON'T MAKE THE AIRBAGS FOR THIS RECALL... AND HE SAID CALL BACK ......WELL I HAVE FOR 2 YEARS NOT! THEN I GOT A NEW LETTER SAYING THAT THEY WHERE IN STOCK AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT SO I CALLLED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN.........AND AGAIN I WAS TOLD THEY DON'T MAKE THESE PARTS......IM SORRY BUT THIS DOESN'T MAKE ME FEEL VERY SAFE. I GUESS I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DON'T MAKE THESE PARTS..ITS SUPPOSE TO PROTECT ME
TAKATA INFLATORS. I DELIVERED THE RECALL NOTICE TO COAST BMW, THE ORIGINAL SELLING DEALER OVER A YEAR AGO. I WAS TOLD I WOULD RECEIVE A CALL WHEN THEY WOULD RECEIVE PARTS FOR MY RECALL EXCHANGE. I NEVER WAS CONTACTED. DATE STATED BELOW IS AN APPROXIMATION.

TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT MY DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG WAS TO BE REPLACED UNDER THE TAKATA RECALL IN JUNE 2015. I HAVE MADE OVER A DOZEN REQUESTS WITH MY LOCAL BMW DEALER TO HAVE THE RECALL PERFORMED BUT EACH TIME I HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE ARE NO AIRBAGS AVAILABLE. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT I DRIVE MY CAR EVERY DAY WITH WHAT IS A KNOWN DEFECTIVE (AND POSSIBLY DEADLY) SAFETY DEVICE AND WHILE I KNOW THE REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS ARE BEING PRODUCED I AM NOT ABLE TO HAVE ONE ALLOCATED FOR MY VEHICLE. THIS IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE SITUATION!

I WAS MADE AWARE OF A TWO OPEN SAFETY RECALLS FOR MY CAR. I AM TOLD THAT THE AFFECTED PARTS NEED TO BE REPLACED FOR THE ENSURED SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE. HOWEVER, I WAS TOLD THAT THESE REPAIRS COULD ONLY BE DONE AT AN AUTHORIZED BMW CENTER. I CURRENTLY LIVE IN MISSOULA, MT AND THE NEAREST BMW CENTER IS 3 HOURS AWAY IN SPOKANE, WA. OBVIOUSLY, I CANNOT DRIVE 3 HOURS EACH WAY AND WAIT HOWEVER MANY HOURS OR DAYS THE REPAIRS TAKE TO HAVE THEM DONE AT THE BMW CENTER I AM TOLD HAS TO DO THEM. THE BMW CUSTOMER RELATIONS DEPARTMENT IS NOT WILLING TO OFFER ANY HELP IN FIXING THIS SITUATION AND GETTING THESE RECALL REPAIRS DONE.

THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY AND THE RPMS BEGAN TO INCREASE. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS ONLY AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.

IT'S BEEN 15 MONTHS SINCE BEING NOTIFIED ABOUT THE RECALL AND I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED THAT THE PART IS AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. I'M CONCERNED BECAUSE MY CAR IS ONE OF THE OLDEST IN THE RECALL DATE RANGE AND IT IS THE DRIVER AIR BAG, WHICH IS THE ONE POSITION ALWAYS OCCUPIED IN THE VEHICLE AND BY ME. THERE IS ALREADY 140,000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE AND IT'S MY DAILY DRIVER SO I BELIEVE IT IS AT RISK. HUMIDITY IS HIGH IN THE KANSAS CITY AREA WHERE THIS CAR HAS BEEN FOR IT'S LIFE. I'M CONCERNED THAT THE AIR BAG IN THE CAR HAS NOT EVEN BEEN DISCONNECTED TO PREVENT IT FROM GOING OFF GIVEN I ALWAYS WEAR A SEAT BELT UNTIL SUCH TIME AS A REPAIR CAN BE MADE.

TAKATA RECALL OF FRONT DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAGS. I RECEIVED NOTICE OF RECALL OVER A YEAR AGO. I AM STILL BEING TOLD BY BMW THAT THE PART NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE IS UNAVAILABLE.. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE AND WRONG TO WAIT WELL OVER A YEAR TO HAVE A RECALL REPAIR! AND I'M STILL WAITING. I JUST SPOKE TO THE BMW DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD AGAIN THAT THERE ARE NO PARTS FOR THE REPAIR. I'D LIKE TO GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF SO PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN, THE MK60 ABS/DSC UNIT FAILED LEAVING ME WITHOUT STABILITY CONTROL AND ANTILOCK BRAKES. VERY UNSAFE.

WHILE DRIVING THE CAR ON A NORMAL SPEED 35-40 M/ HOUR , THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND THE CAR CRASHED INTO THE TELEPHONE POLL. I GOT MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE FRONT BODY ( THE WHOLE FRONT BUMPER AND HOOD GOT REALLY SMASHED IN) I ALSO DAMAGED THE ARM CONTROL AND THE ALIGNMENTS OF THE VEHICLE.

THIRD WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE ON MY 2002 BMW 325 - THREE DIFFERENT WINDOWS. I FINALLY GOT SICK OF IT AND CALLED BMW NORTH AMERICA AND THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THE WINDOWS GO DOWN & YOU CAN'T GET THEM BACK UP. I DID AN INTERNET SEARCH AND EASILY FOUND TONS MORE COMPLAINTS. ONLINE RESEARCH INDICATES THAT THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM AND THE DEALERSHIPS ARE FULLY AWARE OF IT. THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD RECOGNIZE THIS, RECALL AND FIX THIS ISSUE AS IT IS EXPENSIVE FIX. THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON FEW MONTHS AGO ON MY 2002 BMW 325I. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A "COMMON PROBLEM" WITH THESE CARS, AND THAT THE ABS/DSC MODULE WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED (WITH A RE-MANUFACTURED PART), AT A COST OF $1,700. ALSO I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE ALL 4 WINDOW REGULATORS IN THE LAST FEW YEARS. AGAIN A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS CAR THAT HAS 90,000 MILES ON IT, AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGED AND MAINTAINED PROPERLY.
