I have been trying since 2016 to get Vista BMW in Broward County Florida to replace or remove the Takata airbags in my car, and I have the paperwork to prove that this was never done. Reeves BMW in Tampa, Florida, said that Vista BMW falsely reported that the airbags were replaced with non-Takata bags and refused to install the correct ones with desiccant. I have proof that shows that the airbags were never available at that time and the Vista BMW service manager himself told me that all he could do was replace it with another defective airbag until the replacements were available. After waiting two years without hearing from Vista or any BMW representative, and eventually moving to Tampa in 2018, I went to the BMW dealer here, Reeves, who stated that Vista had falsely reported that the "interim" airbag had been replaced and they refused to install the replacements. As I am the only driver and owner of the car, I know that no one else could have taken the car from my garage in the dead of night and replaced any airbag and returned the car without my knowledge. So now I keep the car unused in the garage, too scared to drive this bomb that can blow up at any time, and I cannot afford to junk a car that took me five years to pay off. BMW either owes me a replacement SAFE airbag or a replacement car that has a safe airbag in it. I will gladly join any legal action to expose these criminals and hope you can do something for me before I die. The documents attached clearly show that the airbag was never replaced with a proper desiccant or drying agent.
I was driving just my 3rd day of having my car and i come outside and its wrecked someone hit the driver side front panel and bumper
DASHBOARD INDICATES, "ELECTRIC STEERING LOCK ENGAGED". CAR IS CURRENTLY DRIVABLE, HOWEVER THE DEALER HAS INFORMED ME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED OFTEN IN THIS YEAR AND MODEL OF BMW, AND WILL CONTINUE TO WORSEN UNTIL THE CAR WILL NO LONGER TURN ON. THE MALFUNCTIONING FEATURE (STEERING WHEEL LOCK) HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM SUBSEQUENT MODELS, INDICATING THAT THE MANUFACTURER RECOGNIZES THE MALFUNCTION. REPAIR INCLUDES REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN, COST TO REPAIR IS APPROXIMATELY $1300.

The oil filter housing gasket, the mechatronic transmission and the electrical system failed. Yes, it is available for inspection. My safety and the safety of others were put at risk as a result of my vehicle losing power suddenly while I was driving on the highway. I was driving at the highway speed limit and my vehicle malfunctioned and lost power while others were at high speeds. I had to abruptly stop almost causing an accident. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by the BMW service center. The vehicle has been inspected by the BMW dealer service department. The warning lamps that came on my dashboard were the check engine light, oil level light, and the transmission light. The car was running poorly. The engine wouldn’t crank and then it would jolt after driving. I would smell oil occasionally. The symptoms first appeared in 2011. I had my vehicle serviced at BMW regularly. In 2016 the symptoms got worse despite having my vehicle serviced for the same issue. I had the repairs done at BMW and when I drove it for the first time after getting it repaired it still failed.
Earlier this year in February I have replaced the alternator and some other major part right after purchasing from dealership and i have seen all the other recent recalls for the vehicle also it appears to have recalls that have not been worked on by manufacture . there also were no signs that came on also the wheel tightened up and stopped on me out of no where while driving. this being the second time this has happened as on new years i was on the freeway on my way home and the car did the same when i first replaced the alternator

The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer had been notified of the recall. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000. THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP GOES OUT WITHOUT WARNING. ITS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN TRAVELING 70 MPH DOWN THE INTERSTATE AND ALL SUDDEN THE CAR STALL AND SHUTS DOWN AND YOU HAVE TO MAN HANDLE THE STEERING WHEEL. THAT BEING SAID AN 18 WHEELER HAD TO PULL A MAGIC TRICK TO NOT SMASH ME AND MY 3 KIDS!!! I'M HIGHLY BOTHERED BY THIS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BMW 328I. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE STATIONARY AT A DRIVE THRU, THE ENGINE OVERHEATED WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THE RED OVERHEATING WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE SEIZED. THE CONTACT STATED HE HAD TO MANUALLY PUSH THE VEHICLE OUT TO THE PARKING LOT WITH A BYSTANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE ADDED COOLANT FLUID AND AFTER 2 HOURS HE WAS ABLE RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED HE EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE AN HOUR LATER. ADDITIONALLY, THE BATTERY ALSO FAILED. THE CONTACT STATED HE RECEIVED AN ELECTRICAL SHOCK WHILE OPENING THE TRUNK OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE VIN WAS ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V676000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V683000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER BMW OF RIVERSIDE (3060 ADAMS ST, RIVERSIDE, CA 92504, (951) 373-5000) AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR WERE COMPLETED. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS STILL LEAKING COOLANT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 142,580.
CRANKSHAFT SENSOR STOPPED WORKING WHILE ON HIGHWAY SPEED, COMMON ISSUE WITH THE BMW 3 SERIES
LEFT REAR DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE USE CENTRAL SYSTEM, REMOTE SYSTEM NOR THE MANUAL PULL HANDLE INSIDE NOR THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE. STATIONARY, HAVE REPLACED FUSES AND MANUALLY ENGAGED THE ACTUATOR. THIS IS DANGEROUS AS IF A CHILD OR ELDERLY ADULT IN CARE DURING A WRECK, FIRE ETC.
SO I GOT A PAPER SAYING I HAD A RECALL ON MY AIR BAGS SO I CALLED AND GOT MY CAR TAKIN TO BMW IN BELLEVUE. BMW'S ROAD SIDE ASSISTANTS GAVE THE WRONG ADDRESS TO THE TOW COMPANY AND WOULD NOT ANSWER THE PHONE TOW FOR THEM> I EVEN ATTEMPTED TO CALL AND WAS PLACED ON HOLD FOR APPROXIMATYELY 40 MINUTES TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. FINALLY I SPOKE WITH THE TOW COMPANYS DISPATCHER WHO WAS SO FRUSTRATED HE STARTED ACCUSING ME OF PLAYING GAMES AND THREATENED TO HAVE MY VEHICLE DROPPED AT THE WRONG DEALERSHIP THEN EXTORTED ME FOR ANOTHER 80 DOLLARS JUST TO DROP MY CAR OFF HIS TRUCK AND LEAVE IT AT MY HOUSE. HOURS LATER AFTER FINALLY GETTING A HOD OF ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE THE EXACT SAME COMPANY RETURNED AND DELIVERED MY VEHICLE TO THE RIGHT LOCATION. AFTER ALL OF THIS WE ARE BEING JERKED AROUND BY BELLEVUE BMW ON THE RECALLS THEY ASKED ME FOR 3 HOURS OF LABOR AND PROMISED US TO GET THE VEHICLE STARTED AFTER APPROXIMATELY A WEEK THEY SAID MY DME IS BAD AN IT WOULD COST 8000.00 TO FIX IT AND SAID IT WASN'T WORTH FIXING BECAUSE IT WAS OLD NEVER MENTIONED ANYTHING ABOUT A RECALL UNTIL I FINALLY BROUGHT IT UP THE LAST TIME I SPOKE WITH BMW IN BELLEVUE WHICH WAS MONDAY THE15TH OF MARCH 2021. I WAS TOLD THE WIRE HARNESS WAS REPAIRED NOT REPLACED AND THE AIRBAG RECALL WAS REPLACED. THEN SAID MY BILL WAS OVER 600.00 > AFTER DOING MY RESEARCH THRU THENHTSA WEBSITE I FOUND OUT MY RECALLS WERE NOT FIXED AND I TOOK PHOTOS WITH THE DATES AND TIME SHOWING MY RECALLS WERE NOT FIXED WHICH I FEEL UPSET AND VERY WORRIED AND CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY NOW I AM NOT SURE WHERE TO GO FROM HEAR BECAUSE MY FAMILY AND I ARE BEING PLACED INTO A HARDSHIP AND TO MAKE IT WORSE WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC PLEASE HELP US. I DON'T KNOW IF ANYTHING WAS DONE TO THE CAR I THINK WE NEED TO TALK TO AN ATTORNEY
My car is experiencing electrical failures explained in this recall: NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID: 13V044000 There is a complete loss of power to the vehicle, I need to manually open the trunk, wiggle the positive terminal of the battery to get the power back. This seems to be known issue as identified in the NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID: 13V044000 When reported to the dealer, they declined to fix the issue as part of recall for the reason my VIN number does not show up in the system for this specific electrical issue. The only way the dealer would address is through charging me for diagnostics and fixing.This seems to be a widespread issue with the model year of the car I own, I expect BMW to fix this as part of the existing recall campaign.
CENTRAL LOCKING ISSUE. THE DOORS NEITHER LOCK NOR UNLOCK WITH KEY FOB, AND THE CENTRAL LOCKING BUTTON INSIDE THE CAR DOES NOT UNLOCK THE DOORS. THE DOUBLE PULL METHOD ALSO DOES NOT UNLOCK THE DOORS. SEEMS LIKE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAVE 4 OTHER PEOPLE IN THE CAR AND GET T-BONED, FLIP THE CAR AND IT CATCHES FIRE, AND NOW ALL OF US HAVE TO GET OUT OF THE PASSENGER DOOR. NOT SURE WHERE TO GO FROM HERE !
I WENT TO START MY CAR AND THERE WAS A RED WARNING LIGHT THAT IS A STEERING WHEEL WITH A PADLOCK. I AM NOT ABLE TO START MY CAR OR DO ANYTHING WITH IT FOR THAT MATTER, SO I AM STUCK. THANK GOODNESS I WAS HOME AND PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY OR WORSE, DRIVING AND IT LOCK ON ME! SO NOW I AM STUCK WITHOUT A CAR AND HARD TELLING WHAT ITS GOING TO COST ME! SHUTTERS ALL THE TIME EVEN AFTER COILS REPLACED. ENGINE LINE COMES ON AND MISFIRES. WIRING ALL MESSED UP ESPECIALLY HEADLIGHTS AND SEATS. ABS LIGHT WON'T GO OFF.
CHILD SAFETY LOCK WINDOW GET STUCK AND REMAIN STUCK, GLASS WINDOW WILL NOT ROLL UP. THE ROTARY ON THIS VEHICLE MANUFACTURING IS DAMAGED AND I HAVE DONE NUMEROUS RESEARCH TRYING TO FIND A SOLUTION AND FOUND THAT THERE IS A BIG COMMUNITY OF FRUSTRATED BMW OWNER WITH THE SAME ISSUE BUT BMW IS NOT WILLING TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS FAIL WINDOW MANUFACTURING ERROR. THIS IS THE REAR CHILD SEAT WINDOW AND IT STUCK. IT HAS STUCK BEFORE AT A PARKING LOT AT WORK AND I HAD TO END UP SEATING THERE TO FOR ALMOST AN HOUR UNTIL IT ROLL UP. THIS TIME IT WILL NOT ROLL UP AND I HAD TO LEAVE THE WINDOW DOWN WHILE PARKING THE CAR AT THE HOSPITAL. PLEASE DO DILIGENCE AND RESEARCH THIS AS MANY OWNER ARE FRUSTRATED. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE 700 TO FIX IT!
STEERING WHEEL LOCKED, CAR WOULD NOT START, THIS HAPPENED AFTER I PARKED THE CAR. VERY EXPENSIVE TO GET IT FIXED
HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESS SLEEVES HAVE ROTTED, THE EXPOSED COPPER WIRING CAN SHORT INSIDE THE VEHICLE CAUSING A SPARK, PROLONGED CONTACT BETWEEN BARE WIRES WILL GENERATE HEAT CAPABLE OF MELTING THE HEADLIGHT UNIT AND PLASTIC COMPONENTS AROUND IT.
INTANK FUEL PUMP GAS SMELL FROM DRIVER SIDE AFTER DRIVE FROM LOCAL STORE TO HOME
AIRBAG LIGHTS KEEP GOING OFF, SAYING "FAULT IN PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM AFFECTING AIRBAG, BELT TENSIONER, OR BELT FORCE LIMITER. CONTINUE TO WEAR A SEAT BELT. PLEASE CONTACT THE NEAREST BMW CENTER." OR "FUNCTION OF THE AIRBAG, BELT TENSIONERS, AND BELT FORCE LIMITERS FAULTY. ENSURE THE SEAT BELT IS FASTENED DESPITE THE FAULT. HAVE THE PROBLEM CHECKED BY THE NEAREST BMW SERVICE CENTER". THESE LIGHTS COME ON EVERYTIME THE CAR IS STARTED, DEALERSHIPS CANNOT FIGURE IT OUT, AND ANY ATTEMPT TO CLEAR THE CODE DOES NOT WORK.
THERE IS ALREADY A RECALL FOR THE FUEL INJECTORS IN VEHICLES LIKE MINE BUT MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT APART OF THE RECALL. I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUES STATED IN THE RECALL. RECALL SIB 13 01 20 WHICH IS FOR VEHICLES LIKE MINE MANUFACTURED BETWEEN 04/07 AND 11/08. MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN 07/07 BUT SOMEHOW IT WAS NOT INCLUDED. I HAVE BEEN TROUBLESHOOTING AN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE HESITATING AND MISFIRING AND IT IS DUE TO THE FUEL INJECTORS LEAKING INTO THE CYLINDER. I HAVE REPLACED ALL SPARK PLUGS AND IGNITION COILS AND THERE IS EVIDENCE THAT THE SPARK PLUGS HAVE FUEL ON THEM DUE TO THE LEAKING FUEL INJECTOR. WHEN I START THE VEHICLE IT STARTS NORMALLY BUT AFTER IDLING FOR 5 MINUTES IT BEGINS TO MISFIRE WITH WHITE PLUMES OF SMOKE EXITING THE EXHAUST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVEN BEFORE OR WARMED UP BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. I HAVE ALSO HAD THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE HAPPEN TO ME AS I AM SITTING AT A RED LIGHT THE VEHICLE WILL HESITATE, MISFIRE AND A WHITE PLUME OF SMOKE COMES OUT OF THE EXHAUST. THIS HESITATION AND MISFIRE HAS ALSO HAPPENED TO ME WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY IN MOTION AT ABOUT 40-50MPH. THE CAR MISFIRES/HESITATES AND REGAINS POWER IMMEDIATELY. UPON INSPECTION OF THE SPARK PLUGS, CYLINDER 3 WAS SATURATED IN FUEL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 BMW 335I. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED HE WAS NOTIFIED BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES. A POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT WAS FILED. THE INSURANCE WAS CONTACTED AND TOWED THE VEHICLE TO A TOW LOT FOR INVESTIGATION. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS TAKEN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 130,000.
WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AS WELL AS STATIONARY THE WINDOW PINCH PROTECTION LIGHT FLASHES AT 30 SECOND INTERVALS ALONG WITH AN AUDIBLE NOISE. THIS CREATES A DANGEROUS DISTRACTION WHILE DRIVING AND THERE IS NO WAY TO TURN OFF THE NOISE OR NOTIFICATION. ONCE THE WINDOW PINCH PROTECTION HAS BEEN RESET ON EACH WINDOW THE NOTIFICATION REMAINS FLASHING EVERY 30 SECONDS WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING. THIS AUDIBLE NOISE IS HEARD WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND CREATES AN UNSAFE DISTRACTION. *TR

THE BACK WINDOW WON'T ROLL UP AND THE PLASTIC MOTOR HAS BROKEN. *TR

JUST FINISHED DRIVING ABOUT 10 MILES FROM HOME TO WORK, ABOUT 70 DEGREES-F OUTSIDE, SUNNY, GOOD WEATHER AROUND 11AM. DID NOT OPERATE AIR CONDITIONER, HEATER OR VENT FAN. CAR SEEMED TO DRIVE FINE, NO STRANGE NOISES. HAD NO RECENT MAJOR REPAIRS. WE ARE SECOND OWNERS OF CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED BMW, HAVE HAD VEHICLE FOR THE PAST 7 YEARS AND DRIVEN ABOUT 50K MILES SINCE PURCHASE. AFTER ARRIVING AT WORKPLACE, STOPPED AT WORKPLACE PARKING LOT WITH ENGINE IDLING FOR A FEW SECONDS TO WAIT FOR PARKING GATE TO OPEN. HOWEVER, BEGAN SEEING WHITE SMOKE COMING OUT OF DRIVER'S SIDE OF ENGINE HOOD. TRIED TO REVERSE THE VEHICLE OUT TO THE STREET AND MOVED ABOUT 10FT BEFORE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT RESTART. WITHIN 15-30 SECONDS A PLUME OF FIRE ERUPTED OUT OF THE FRONT HOOD THROUGH THE GRILL. WITHIN 3 MINUTES ENTIRE CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES AND ITS PROXIMITY TO OTHER CARS IN THE LOT CAUSED FIRE DAMAGE TO 4 OTHER VEHICLES. CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS INCLUDING ALL POSSESSIONS WITHIN IT. ELECTRONIC LOCKS QUIT WORKING AS SOON AS FIRE STARTED. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE RESIDENCE WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL INJECTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. BMW OF PLEASANT GROVE LOCATED AT (2111 W GROVE PKWY, PLEASANT GROVE, UT 84062) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.
VEHICLE HAS CAMSHAFT ISSUES THAT ARE DUE TO VANOS-VANOS BOLTS ON DRIVE ARE DAMAGED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, STALLING, ROUGH IDLE-
HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP - CRITICAL FAILURE WHILE DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE DIED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE IN MOTION. BRAKES AND STEERING BECAME INCREDIBLY HEAVY (PRESUMABLY WITHOUT POWER) AS I PULLED OVER WITH VERY LITTLE TIME TO REACT. CAR WOULD NOT RESTART, JUST REPEATEDLY TURN OVER WITHOUT TRYING TO START. PULLED CODES TO DISCOVER THAT THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP JUST FAILED COMPLETELY - P142E $0018PD. STALLING IN MOTION WITHOUT ANY WARNING SIGNS WAS SCARY. TURBO WASTEGATES - CAUTION TURBOS RATTLE SEVERELY WHILE DRIVING AND PERFORMANCE IS REDUCED. EXTRA TIME AND SPACE IS NEEDED WHEN MERGING AND OVERTAKING. NO ENGINE CODES.
PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT IS LIT EVEN WHEN PASSENGER IS SITTING. THERE'S NO DIFFERENCE AS TO IF THE PASSENGER SITS DOWN WITH THE CAR ON OR OFF, IF THE BELT IS FASTENED WITH THE CAR ON OR OFF, MOVING OR STATIONARY.
THE CAR HAS A SHORT DRAINING BATTERY ALL THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ON THE BLOWER MOTER SMELT LIKE FIRE WHEN TURNED ON. I UNDERSTAND THERE WAS A RECALL FOR ELECTRICAL FAILURE ON CERTAIN BMW'S. RECALL 13V044. MY VEHICLE BAD A COMPLETE ELECTRICAL FAILURE IN EARLY DECEMBER 2019. IT NOW SITS IN MY GARAGE. APPARENTLY MY CAR WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL WHICH I CANNOT UNDERSTAND. IT EXHIBITS ALL THE FAILURES INDICATED IN THE ORIGINAL RECALL. PLEASE HELP

MY CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY DUE TO A FAULTY WIRING HARNESS THAT BMW FAILED TO NOTIFY OWNERS ABOUT. THE CAR HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN IN SEVERAL WEEKS. IF THE CAR WAS IN THE GARAGE MULTIPLE FATALITIES COULD HAVE OCCURED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO D-PATRICK BMW SHOWROOM (200 N GREEN RIVER RD, EVANSVILLE, IN 47715, (812) 473-6500) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT IF THEY REMOVED THE WINDSHIELD TO REPAIR THE FAILURE, IT COULD BE A 50/50 CHANCE THE WINDSHIELD COULD BREAK AND THE CONTACT WOULD NEED TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,774. CONSUMER STATED CALLED THE MANUFACTURER HOTLINE AT 1-888-327-4236 AND NOTIFIED THEM OF THE DESIGN FLAW. THEIR REPLY WAS THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY.*JB
