THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG SEAT OCCUPANCY SENSOR (OC3) MAT HAS FAILED IN MY CAR. BMW EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE E90 SEDAN AND E91 WAGON VERSION OF THE 2007 328I BUT NOT THE E93 CONVERTIBLE (WHICH I HAVE) THE SEAT COMPONENTS ARE IDENTICAL ON ALL 3 MODEL VERSIONS OF THAT YEAR. WHY IS THE SAFETY OF E93 PASSENGERS LESS IMPORTANT THAN THE PASSENGERS IN THE E90 AND E91 WHEN THEY SHARE THE SAME SENSOR? REPAIR COST IS $1,200 FOR A SENSOR BMW KNOWS WILL FAIL. I WANT THE 2007 E93 TO BE INCLUDED IN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY SI B01 09 14
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BMW 335I. WHILE DRIVING 50-55 MPH, THE CONTACT SWERVED TO AVOID ANOTHER VEHICLE, BUT CRASHED INTO A PARKED VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE BACK, NECK, AND HEAD, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
MY DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS BULB FAILED. UPON OPENING UP THE SEALED HEADLIGHT BUCKET, I DISCOVERED THAT THE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE WIRES' INSULATION WAS BRITTLE, CRACKED, AND MISSING IN PLACES, POTENTIALLY ALLOWING FOR A SHORT TO AND POSSIBLY A FIRE TO OCCUR.
RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR A BLOWER MOTOR WIRING ISSUE (17V-676) AND AN EXTENSION IN LIMITED WARRANTY FOR THE SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM. BMW NORTH AMERICA SAID THEY COULD NOT SEE THE VEHICLE IN THERE SYSTEM AND COULD NOT INITIATE REPAIRS UNTIL IT WAS. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN TENNESSEE ON 3/23/16, BUT SAW IN THE CARFAX REPORT THAT IT WAS ORIGINALLY PURCHASED OVERSEAS.
WAS DISMISSED BY BMW STATING THAT MY VEHICLE DOES NOT FALL UNDER THE SAFETY RECALL 17V-683 ' POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) VALVE HEATER ' ('BLOW-BY-HEATER'). DESPITE HAVING THE DISCRIBED ISSUE WHICH HAS BLOWN 3 FUSES OVER A PERIOD OF ONE WEEK. THIS DISMISSAL DESPITE THE ENGINE TYPE AND YEAR BEING MENTIONED IN THE RECALL. NOTE: RECALL DEEMS THE VEHICLE UNSAFE AND POTENTIALLY HARMFUL TO ME AND MY FAMILY.
I KNOW IT IS A FAIRLY WELL KNOWN ISSUE AS LOOKING INTO A FEW FORUMS AND YOU CAN FIND FOR YOURSELF. I HAVE A 2007 335I COUPE E92 WITH A AROUND 104K MILES AND AS I KNOW IT IS FAR OUT OF WARRANTY THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING SHOULD NOT BE SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAPPEN. INSIDE OF THE HEADLIGHT HOUSING ALL OF THE WIRES START TO WITHER AWAY AND SHORT OUT AGAINST EACH OTHER CAUSING YOUR HEADLIGHTS NOT TO WORK. THIS IS ALL HAPPENING INSIDE OF A SEALED UNIT THAT ISN'T SUPPOSED TO BE SERVICED ALMOST ALL OF THE WIRES COMING FROM THE HARNESS ARE COMPLEATLY BARE AND WITHERED AWAY AND I DO NOT HAVE ANY MOISTURE LEAKING ISSUES SO THAT COULDN'T CAUSE ANY OF THE PROBLEMS THAT ARE HAPPENING EITHER. I BELIEVE IT IS FROM FAULTY WIRING USED INSIDE OF THE HEADLIGHTS THEMSELVES THAT CAUSE THEM TO DETERIORATE MORE RAPIDLY.

THE CONTACT CALLED CLASSIC BMW AT (214) 778-2600 (LOCATED AT 6800 DALLAS PKWY, PLANO, TX 75024) AND WAS INFORMED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVEN TO THE DEALER DUE TO THE BURNING ODOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. *TT CONSUMER STATED VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. *JB
MY CAR BURST INTO FLAMES AHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WENT OFF IMMEDIATELY AND I WAS TRAPPED IN CAR. A NEARBY PASSENGER BROKE MY WINDOW TO ME OUT. IF IT WASN'T FOR THE MAN I WOULD HAVE LOST MY LIFE!!

IVE CONTACTED BMW SERVERAL TIMES BUT I HAVENT GOT A EMAIL OR CONTACTED BACK FROM SERVICE TO FIX THESE ISSUES.... THE CAR IS MY LIVELYHOOD SO I FEEL LIKE JUST BUYING THE PARTS MYSELF AND FIXING THEM OTHER THAN THE AIRBAG.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BMW OF BELLEVUE (13617 NE 20TH ST, BELLEVUE, WA 98005, (425) 243-5201) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 BMW 328I. WHILE DRIVING, THE ODOR OF SMOKE WAS PRESENT INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STOPPED AND EXITED THE VEHICLE AS SMOKE AND FLAMES EMERGED FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,000.
THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN A GARAGE. WITH VEHICLE EITHER RUNNING OR NOT RUNNING, WE WERE UNABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE AS WE WERE UNABLE TO UNLOCK AND OPEN BOTH FRONT AND THE LEFT REAR DOORS, FROM THE INSIDE (USING THE DOOR LEVERS, CENTRAL LOCKING SYSTEM BUTTON, AND REMOTE) OR FROM THE OUTSIDE (USING THE DOOR HANDLE, KEY, AND REMOTE). THE ONLY WAYS TO EXIT THE VEHICLE WERE TO CLIMB THROUGH A WINDOW OR OVER THE FRONT SEATS (DIFFICULT) TO ACCESS THE RIGHT REAR DOOR. TO GET THE DOORS TO UNLOCK, I NEEDED TO REPLACE A FUSE IN THE FUSE PANEL AND DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FOR AT LEAST 30 SECONDS. THIS COULD BE A DEATH TRAP IF IN AN ACCIDENT, HIGH WATER, EXTREME COLD, ETC.
RECALL FOR FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPANT DETECTION MAT & PCV VALVE HEATER NOT COMPLETE. DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO OBTAIN PARTS TO REPAIR THESE RECALLS.
TAKATA RECALL - I HAVE HAD TWO SEPARATE MAJOR ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE SINCE I PURCHASED IT IN MAY 2018. OVER A MONTH AGO , MY CAR STARTED TO MAKE A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE WHILE IDLED AT STOP LIGHT AND WOULD EASE UP WHEN I WOULD ACCELERATE. MY ENGINE WAS SHAKING SO BADLY THAT I COULD FEEL IT WITH MY FOOT ON BRAKE PETAL. MY ROOMMATE HEARD THE SQUEALING NOISE FROM INSIDE MY HOUSE AND CAME OUT TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG. ENTIRE ENGINE WAS SHAKING AS IF SOMETHING WAS NOT ON PROPERLY. HAPPENED ONE OTHER TIME SINCE WHILE COMING BACK FROM WORK. SECOND MAJOR ISSUE OCCURRED WHILE ON THE WAY TO WORK MONDAY MORNING - I WAS MAKING A SEMI SHARP RIGHT TURN OFF RUFFIN MILL ROAD IN CHESTER AND MY 'SERVICE ENGINE SOON' LIGHT IMMEDIATE CAME ON AND THE CAR WENT FROM 35MPH TO 0 - MY CAR FELT AS IF I COULDN'T TURN THE WHEEL AND ENGINE STOPPED. I CUT THE CAR OFF THEN BACK ON - LIGHT WENT AWAY AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE. LESS THAN 5 MINUTES LATER, I WAS COMING TO A STOP LIGHT, ABOUT TO TURN LEFT AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. CUT CAR OFF THEN BACK ON AND IT WAS OKAY. I HAVE HAD A LOT OF ISSUES WITH THIS CAR AND EVEN HAD TO GET BRAND NEW STARTER TWO WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE. "BMW RECALL" PCV VALVE IN THE VALVE COVER
DEALER REFUSED TO MAKE THE REPAIRS ON MY ENGINE THAT WAS CAUSED BY THE RECALL PRODUCT THE PCV VALVE. DEALER SAYS THEIR NOT REQUIRED TO MAKE ANY REPAIRS, THEIR JOB IS TO REPLACE THE RECALL PART
RECALLS FOR VALVE HEATER AND BLOWER MOTOR WIRING CANNOT BE FIXED UNTIL MARCH 6, 2019. THIS DATE IS VERY FAR AND THERE SHOULD BE CLOSER DATES TO REMEDY THESE PROBLEMS.
I WAS GOING BETWEEN 30 AND 35 MPH THROUGH CITY STREETS AT ROUGHLY 3AM ON MY WAY BACK FROM MY COMMUTE WHICH IS ROUGHLY 60 MILES. I NOTICED IT STARTED TO SMELL LIKE BURNING PLASTIC AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER SMOKE WAS VISIBLE COMING FROM HOOD VENTS, I PARKED THE CAR AS SOON AS I COULD AND POPPED THE HOOD AND THE HEAT COVER FOR THE HOOD WAS ON FIRE ALONG WITH MOST OTHER COMPONENTS IN THE ENGINE BAY. MY FRIEND IMMEDIATELY CALLED 911 FOR ASSISTANCE AS I RAN AND TRIED TO WARN NEIGHBORS , WITHIN 7 MINUTES THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY CHARD. NO MAITNANCE LIGHTS WERE ON AND NOTHING SEEMED TO BE A PROBLEM. STATIONARY IN PARKING LOT. FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT LOCK/UNLOCK WITH ANY METHOD ATTEMPTED. DRIVERS DOOR WILL ONLY UNLOCK USING EMERGENCY KEY FROM EXTERIOR.
THE ENGINE CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE PARKED FOR OVER 13 HOURS.
MY VEHICLE HAS MULTIPLE CODES FOR FAULTY FUEL INJECTORS. A RECALL CAMPAIGN WAS INITIATED I N 2010 TO REPAIR THESE INJECTORS. I BELIEVE THE RECALL CAMPAIGN WAS TITLED 10E-A02: REPLACE FUEL INJECTORS. THE ELIGIBLITY WAS LISTED AS VEHICLES WITH PRODUCTION DATES FROM 4/01/2007 TO 11/30/2008. VEHICLES INCLUDED WERE BMW E90 MODELS. I HAVE A 2007 E90 MODEL WITH A PRODUCTION DATE OF 3/2007. IT IS PECULIAR THAT THE PRODUCTION DATE DID NOT INCLUDE ALL VEHICLES IN THAT MODEL YEAR. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND DETERMINED THAT THE PART NUMBER ON MY FUEL INJECTORS WERE THE SAME AS THE PART NUMBERS OF THE FUEL INJECTORS FOR VEHICLES PRODUCES IN 4/2007 AND FOR THE REST OF THAT MODEL YEAR. I FEEL MY VEHICLE SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL, PLEASE ADVISE.10
HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR AND THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY FOR THE BLOWER MOTOR WIRING RECALL NOR THE POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) VALVE HEATER. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. WHAT IF MY VEHICLE IS ONE OF THE ONES THAT START ON FIRE, THEN WHAT? IF THERE IS A RECALL, THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A SERIOUS POTENTIAL PROBLEM, SO WHY ARE MANUFACTURERS ALLOWED TO HAVE AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF TIME TO COME UP WITH THE FIX?
THE SEATBELT LIGHT IS ON AS IF THERE IS SOMEONE IN THE CAR WITHOUT A SEATBELT ON. THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND THE ENGINE LIGHT AS WELL. THEY ALL POPPED UP AROUND THE SAME TIME.

THE DEALER (INTERNATIONAL BMW, 2400 S 108TH STREET, WEST ALLIS, WI 53227, 414-543-3000) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
STEERING WHEEL HAS LOCKED AND WILL NOT TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
ABOUT A MONTH AGO, (TODAY'S DATE IS 10/8/18) MY DRIVERS SIDE REVERSE LIGHT WENT OUT. WITH IT BEING A LIGHT THAT ISN'T REALLY A NECESSITY OR SAFETY HAZARD, I DIDN'T HAVE ANY URGENCY REPLACING. LAST NIGHT I DECIDED TO PEEL THE COVER OFF THE TRUNK TO ACCESS MY TAIL LIGHT, AND ONCE REMOVED, THE ENTIRE BULB HOUSING FALLS OUT OF THE TAIL LIGHT. THERE IS A LOT OF MELTED PLASTIC (IT WAS VERY VERY HOT) IN THE TAIL LIGHT. I EXAMINE THE BULBS, NONE BEING BURNT OUT. NO WHERE ON THE PART THAT THE LIGHTS ACTUALLY GO INTO HAS ANY HEAT DAMAGE (BURNT AND CRACKED PLASTIC). I THEN CONTACT MY MECHANIC WITH A VIDEO ASKING HIM WHAT I NEED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE NOW THAT I SEE MY TAIL LIGHT IS LITERALLY MELTED. HE SAYS HE'LL HAVE TO CHECK IT OUT AND WILL COME BY IN THE MORNING. HE WAS 'BAFFLED' AND SAID THAT IT IS ENTIRELY A MANUFACTURES DEFECT, AFTER INSPECTING THE CONNECTOR, AS WELL AS ALL THE WIRING. I THEN HAD HIM, (OUT OF CURIOSITY) CHECK AND SEE IF THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS ALSO DEFECTED. I GET ON GOOGLE AND SEE THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MY EXACT CAR, AND NUMEROUS PEOPLES VEHICLES HAVE BURST INTO FLAMES BUT THERE ISN'T A RECALL?? EVEN PEOPLE'S CARS THAT ARE TURNED OFF??? I HAVE TWO TODDLERS AND JUST TRAVELED 750 MILES AWAY 1500 MILES FROM HOME AND BACK. I AM VERY ANGRY AT THE FACT THAT THEY AS WELL AS MY OWN SAFETY WAS IN DANGER THE ENTIRE TIME AND WE HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF. AND I'M EVEN MORE ANGRY THAT I COULD HAVE BEEN TAKING MY NIECE TO AN APPOINTMENT TOMORROW MORNING (I DO HAVE TO FIND OTHER MEANS TO GET HER THERE) AND MY CAR JUST COMBUSTS, HAD I NOT CARED TO REPLACE THE BULB, MY CAR COULD CATCH ON FIRE WHILE TYPING THIS COMPLAINT. I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF PEOPLE SAY BMW IS TAKING NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE.
OIL INTERVAL WARNING CANNOT BE RESET UNLESS THE TOTAL MILEAGE IS LESS THAN 180,000 MILES. BMW CONFIRMS THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM.
ON THE WAY HOME YESTERDAY A RED WARNING LIGHT "STEERING WHEEL WITH A PAD LOCK ON THE TOP LEFT CORNER" CAME ON, AFTER PARKING AT HOME I GOT THE MANUAL OUT AND FOUND THAT THIS IS AN ELECTRIC STEERING-WHEEL LOCK FAULT AND NOW THE CAR WILL NOT START. THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH MOST BMW'S MANUFACTURED BETWEEN YEARS 2006 TO 2007. I LEARNED ABOUT THE ISSUE WHEN I DID A SEARCH IN BMW FORUM'S. BOTH EUROPEAN AND NORTH AMERICAN MARKETS ARE EFFECTED WITH THIS FAULT.
WATER LEAKS IN MY CAR ON DRIVER SIDE FRONT AND BACK SEAT CARPET IS SOAK AND SMELL. NOT THE FIRST WHEN GOING TO GET A CAR WASH LEAKS OCCUR. THIS IS MY SECOND BMW I HAD A 2004 325L SAME PROBLEM WITH LEAKAGE. ALSO, NO DOUBT RUST HAVE OCCUR IN THIS VEHICLE WITH ON GOING LEAKS.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND WAS TAKEN TO BEVERLY HILLS BMW (LOCATED AT 5070 WILSHIRE BLVD, LOS ANGELES, CA 90036, (877) 794-4678). THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V044000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.

DRIVING 30 MPH TPMS LIGHT CAME ON INDICATING FRONT DRIVER TIRE LOW, GOT HOME AND TOOK TRIED TO INFLATE TIRE, WITH NO LUCK. TOOK TIRE OFF AND THE INSIDE TIRE WALL HAD BLOWN OUT. 1 MONTH LATER THE SAME BLOW OUT OCCURRED ON PASSENGER REAR TIRE. THERE WAS GOOD TREAD ON BOTH TIRES. DON'T KNOW IF IT MATTERS, BUT BOTH TIRES WHERE RUN FLAT. I HAVE CONTACTED BRIDGESTONE, BUT NO RESPONSE. I'M ATTACHING PICTURES.

NORMAL USE OF DS SPORT MODE INVOLVED MOVING THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTER TO THE LEFT. THIS PUTS TENSION ON THE WIRES THAT SUPPORT THIS FUNCTION, CRIMPING THE WIRES AND FREQUENTLY LEADING TO FAILURE. THE PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE WITH THE WAY THE WIRING HARNESS IS ROUTED WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION LEVER. THIS IS DOCUMENTED AS A FREQUENT OCCURRENCE IN NUMEROUS DIY VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE AND INTERNET FORUMS. FAILURE OF DS SPORT MODE MEANS THAT CAR CAN NO LONGER BE USED IN THIS MODE. HOWEVER, IT CAN BE DRIVEN IN NORMAL MODE. THIS DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE. IT IS A DESIGN FLAW THAT, THROUGH NORMAL USE, RESULTS IN A FAILURE THAT MAY REQUIRE AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR. MY LOCAL SHOP QUOTED ME $1,500 TO REPLACE THE SHIFTER.

MY PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT FOR THE SEAT KEEPS GOING ON I'VE HAD THIS RESET TWICE AND IT JUST KEEPS COMING BACK ON AND NOW IT DOES NOT GO OFF . I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO IT OBVIOUSLY WASN'T FIXED.. I WAS DRIVING THIS LAST TIME WHEN THE LIGHT CAME ON.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT AND DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
I HAVE FUEL LEAKING FROM THE TOP OF MY FUEL TANK. I HAVE NEEN ADVISED THAT IT IS A FUEL TANK SENDING UNIT OR A SEAL. MY FUEL PUMP WORKS AS MY CAR IS OPERATIONAL. THE LEAK OCCURS WHEN THE GAS TANK IS OVER HALF FULL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL.

"TAKATA RECALL...I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM BMW I WOULD SAY SUMMER OF 18 STATING THAT THEY ARE EXTENDING MY WARRANTY ON MY PASSENGER AIR AIRBAG AND A MONTH BEFORE THAT MY AIRBAG LIGHT HIGHLIGHTED ON MY DASHBOARD I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL BMW DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG I WOULD NEED TO PAY FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC I DON'T BELIEVE I SHOULD HAVE TO I HAVE A LETTER STATING IT'S EXTENDED AND THE LIGHT IS ON I'M AFRAID IT WILL GO OFF I NEED TO GET A LETTER FROM BMW TO COVER THIS PLEASE CONSIDER RECALLING THE AIRBAG SOONER

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED IN AN OVERNIGHT GARAGE FOR ABOUT 5 DAYS WHILE I WAS TRAVELING. WHEN I RETURNED AND TRIED TO START THE CAR, I GOT AN ELV SYMBOL (BASICALLY LOCKED THE VEHICLE AND KEPT IT FROM TURNING OVER). IT ESSENTIALLY DRAINED THE BATTERY WHICH HAS NOW BEEN REPLACED. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE STEERING COLUMN WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. APPARENTLY, THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF OCCURRENCES OF THIS HAPPENING TO BMWS. BMW KNOWS THAT THIS IS A FAULT ON VEHICLES MADE FROM 2006-2008. THE COST TO REPLACE THE STEERING COLUMN IS AROUND $1600. BECAUSE THE COMPANY IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM WITH VEHICLES IN THESE YEARS, THIS IS AN ITEM THAT SHOULD BE LISTED AS A RECALL.
