I GET SEAT BELT/AIRBAG COMMUNICATION FAULT
I OWN A 2006 525I BMW WITH 69K MILES AND MY ADAPTIVE HEADLIGHTS WIRING INSIDE THE LIGHT, THE PROTECTIVE COATING ON ALL THE WIRES ARE ALL DETERIORATING AND GIVING ME A FAULT FOR THE APATIVE HEADLIGHT SYSTEM AND THEY ARE NOT WORKING.
INSULATION AROUND THE WIRING IN THE HEADLIGHTS HAS COMPLETELY CRUMBLED OFF AND BARE WIRE IS EXPOSED, COULD POSSIBLE TOUCH AND CAUSE A FIRE. PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR IN THE SEAT IS FAULTY AND I RECIEVED A RECALL NOTICE BUT BMW SAYS THERE IS NO RECALL ON MY CAR AND REFUSES TO FIX.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION DURING THESE EVENTS . ELECTRIC WARNING MALFUNCTION, ALERT PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. A MESSAGE RIGHT LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT WAS MALFUNCTIONING. ELECTRONIC CONTROL SUDDEN MALFUNCTION OF THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS.
TAKATA RECALL, I CONTACTED BMW OF FREEPORT I HAD AN APPOINTMENT ON JUNE AT 9:00 AM. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR THE RECALL, THEY INDICATED THAT THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING AT THE TIME, THE CAR WAS AN OLD MODEL AND THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS IN STOCK AND THEY WOULD ORDER AND GET BACK TO ME. THE PASSENGER AIG BAG/SEAT BELT RESTRAINT ERROR AIR BACK WILL NOT DEPLOY BECAUSE IT THINKS THERE IS NO ONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT
I WENT TO BMW OF NORTH HAVEN AND THEY TOLD ME THEY CVANT DO NOTHING FOR ME CONCERNING THE PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM THEY TRICKED ME INTO GETTING A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND SAID IF IT WAS THAT THEY WOULD HELP ME REPLACE IT AFTER THE FOUND OUT IT WAS THE MAT THE DECLINED ON FIXING IT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND EFFECTS MOSTLY ALL BMW 530XI AND IT WAS REPLACED AFTER THE CAR WAS 4 YEARS OLD NOW IT HAS TO BE RPLACVED AGAIN AND BMW OF NORTH HAVEN IS TRYING TO CHARGE ME $1200 TO FIX AND ITS A RECALL ON THAT VEHICLE DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY SUGGESTION ON HOW TO GO ABOUT THIS
SEATBELT NOT RETRACTING AND WARNING LIGHT STATING SEATBELT AND AIRBAG MAY NOT FUNCTION IN CRASH. INITIALLY INTERMITTENT BUT NOW STEADY WARNING LIGHTS. * EXTREME FADING OF PAINT ON HOOD, ROOF, DECK LID.
MCM BURNED UP GOT WET AND STANK UP WHOLE TRUNK BECAUSE OF DESIGN FLAW BY BMW WE WERE DRIVING AS IT BURNED UP TILL WE HAD TO PULL OVER BECAUSE OF THE AWFUL SMELL

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
NAVIGATION DISPLAY REBOOTS CONSTANTLY. WORKS PERIODICALLY. THIS DISPLAY GIVES ME ACCESS TO ALL OF THE CARS FEATURES INCLUDING WARNINGS AND MALFUNCTIONS WITH THE VEHICLE. IF THE DISPLAY WORKS WHEN THE CAR IS ON IT MAY NOT WORK IF YOU TURN OFF THE CARD AND TURN IT BACK ON.
VALVE COVER GASKET IS LEAKING OIL THERE IS KNOWN DEFECT CAUSED BY OVER TIGHTENING AT MANUFACTURE. HOLD BMW RESPONSIBLE AND RECALL THIS DEFECT.
INTERNAL HEADLIGHT WIRING INSULATION FLAKING OFF EXPOSING COPPER WIRE CAUSING FAILURE OF PARKING AND DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS AND FAILURE OF THE FRONT HEADLIGHT SYSTEM AS WELL AS THE RISK OF FIRE. ALSO HAVING ISSUES WITH INTERMITTENT CRUISE CONTROL, POWER PORTS AND FAN INSIDE THE CAR.
FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPANT DETECTION AND AIRBAG FAULT SENSORS HAVE BECOME ACTIVATED. BMW CLAIM MY VIN IS NOT COVERED BY THE EXISTING RECALL ISSUED FOR THIS ACKNOWLEDGED DEFECT.
ALTOUGH MY 2006 BMW 550I V8 IS HARD TO STOP AND FALLS UNDER BMW BRAKE VACUUM PUMP RECALL RELEASED NOVEMBER 2010, FOR SOME REASON MY VIN DOESNT BRING UP THE RECALL. BMW REFUSED TO FIX.A WASTED 1 HOUR TRIP AND DAY.
WIRING INSULATION ON HEADLIGHTS IS DISINTEGRATING AND FALLING OFF WIRING CAUSING ELECTRICAL SHORTS AND LOSS OF LIGHTING
MAIN HEADLIGHT FAILURE DURING NIGHT DRIVING CAUSE BY ELECTRICAL SHORT CIRCUIT, DUE TO HEADLIGHT INTERNAL ELECTRICAL WIRING INSULATION FAILURE. INTERNAL ELECTRICAL WIRING INSULATION SEEMS NOT TO MEET SAE, NEC, ASME, ETC. CODES AND STANDARD FOR THE USES, LIKE ENGINE ELECTRICAL WIRING, SUBJECT TO HEAT EXPOSURE FROM HEADLIGHT BULB GENERATION. MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES CAN RESULT FROM SUDDEN HEADLIGHT FAILURE WITHOUT PREVIOUS NOTICE, WHICH CAN CAUSE ACCIDENT AT DARK ROADS. HEADLIGHT FAILURE OCCURS WHILE DRIVING IN A DARK ROAD AT NIGHT.

MY STEERING WHEEL IS LOCKED AND SO THE CAR WILL NOT START.
THE WIRING ITHIN THE XENON ADAPTIVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE OF THE 2006 BMW 530I HAS EXTREME WIRING INSULATION ROT. THE EXPOSED WIRING IS EXTENSIVE ON ALL WIRES WITHIN THE ASSEMBLY ON BOTH SIDES WITH MOST OF THE WIRES NOW BARE. THIS IS CREATING A SEVERE AND DANGEROUS SAFETY AND FIRE HAZARD. I WILL UPLOAD PHOTOS WHEN I DISASSEMBLE THE CAR HEADLIGHTS AGAIN. THE FIRE HAZARD WAS FOUND WHEN REPLACING AN ANGEL EYE HEADLAMP.

FAULT IN PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM AFFECTING AIR BAG,BELT TENSIONER OR BELT-FORCE LIMITER.FASTEN AND CONTINUE TO WEAR BELTS. ON 24-7. FROM THE MOMENT YOU START THE CAR TILL THE MOMENT YOU SHUT IT OFF.
STEERING WHEEL IS LOCK AND CAR WILL NOT START. YELLOW LOCK AND STEERING DISPLAYED.
MY PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON ABOUT A MONTH AGO FOR APPARENT REASON AND STAY ON EVER SINCE. I CONTACTED THE LOCAL BMW DEALER AND WAS TOLD MY VIN WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED AND DONT UNDERSTAND WHY SOME CARS WERE ON THE RECALL AND SOME WERE NOT. APPARENTLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH ALL BMWS AND A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. THIS SAFETY ISSUE SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY THE MANUFACTURE.
WE NOTICED A WARNING ON OUR DASHBOARD IN JANUARY 2016. BEING THAT WE ARE SENIORS, IT WAS MID- WINTER AND THE AUTO DEALERSHIP WE GO TO IS MANY MILES AWAY, WE DID NOT IMMEDIATELY DRIVE TO SEE WHAT THE LIGHT WAS ON. WHEN WE FINALLY DID, WE WERE TOLD THAT THE. " RECALL HAD EXPIRED " AND TO FIX THE SENSOR MAT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WOULD COST WELL OVER $3,000??? IF THERE WAS A " RECALL", SHOULD WE NOT HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED? NOW WE ARE TOLD THE "RECALL HAS EXPIRED" AND WE ARE LEFT WITH A CAR THAT HAS A FAULT IN THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. WHY WERE WE NOT NOTIFIED OF A RECALL?
THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHED AND SUDDENLY REMAINED ILLUMINATED. IT IS RELATED TO THE CAMPAIGN #13V564000. I CONTACTED BMW AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL FOR THIS CAMPAIGN. I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE AS MY SYMTOMS ARE THE SAME AS LISTED IN THE CAMPAIGN.
THE HEATED SEATS HAVE MALFUNCTIONED BURNING A HOLE AND MAKING A LARGE BROWN AREA ON THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT. THIS SEAT WILL BURN YOU IF LEFT ON THE HIGH SETTING AND HAS A BURNING ELECTRICAL SMELL. I AM AFRAID THAT USING IT AGAIN AFTER IT BURNED THIS HOLE WILL CAUSE A FULL SCALE FIRE. NOT VERY HAPPY TO HAVE A LUXURY CAR THAT YOU CAN'T USE ONE OF THE LUXURIES OF BECAUSE OF A SERIOUS DANGER. THESE WERE MY FIRST HEATED SEATS EVER AND MAY BE MY LAST, VERY SCARY!
PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR FAULTY, AIRBAG DISABLED. FAULTS ARE SHOWING, AND WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALER AND BMW USA, BOTH ACKNOWLEDGE AN ISSUE BUT INSIST MY CAR IS NOT COVERED. THE VIN IS NOT ON THEIR ROSTER. BMW RECALLED 200,000 CARS FOR THIS PROBLEM, IN THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL. I NOW HAVE THE ISSUE, AND IT IS A CLEAR SAFETY CONCERN FOR ANY OF MY LOVED ONES WHO MIGHT RIDE IN THE CAR.

DURING A BMW SPONSORED VEHICLE INSPECTION I WAS INFORMED THAT ONE OF MY VALVE COVER BOLTS WAS BROKEN AND OIL WAS LEADING ON THE ENGINE (FIRE HAZARD). THE BMW MECHANIC STATED THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 530 SERIES AS THE MANUFACTURED USED ALUMINUM BOLTS TO REDUCE WEIGHT ON THE VEHICLE. THE ALUMINUM BOLTS SNAP/BREAK DUE TO HEAT. THIS IS A POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD AND THE ALUMINUM VALVE COVER BOLTS SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPLACED BY BMW.

I HAVE A 2006 BMW 530I (MAKE: 03/05). TWO DAYS BACK, WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK (HIGHWAY), SUDDENLY THE MESSAGE, "PASSENGER RESTRAINT MALFUNCTION" CAME UP AND WHEN I RESEARCHED ABOUT THIS, I FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE 2006 BMW 530I'S FOR THIS ISSUE (RECALL SUBJECT : FRONT SEAT OCCUPANT PROTECTION MAT, NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V564000) . BUT, WHEN I EMAILED BMW REGARDING THE ISSUE, THEY SAID MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL LIST. I AM NOT SURE WHY ALL THE CARS ARE NOT INCLUDED WHEN THEY ARE MADE IN SAME YEAR AND SAME MODEL. I AM ATTACHING THE SCREENSHOT OF THE EMAIL THAT BMW CUSTOMER CARE HAS SENT ME AND ALSO OF THE ERROR MESSAGE IN THE CAR. THIS HAS BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE FOR MY CAR NOW. I RECENTLY PURCHASED MY 2006 530I. THE AIRBAG INDICATOR SHOWED A DEFAULT SO I TOOK IT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A DEFAULT IN THE MAT SENSOR AND IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $781.72. I RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE FOR MY MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AS WELL AS BMW NORTH AMERICA CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WAS TOLD BY BOTH THAT MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL SO THE REPAIR IS ON ME. I ALSO SEE THAT MANY OTHER OWNERS HAVE HAD THIS SAME ISSUE. CLEARLY THERE IS A PROBLEM THAT BMW NEEDS TO CORRECT.
RECALL CAMPAIGN NO. 12V-126: BATTERY CABLE INSULATED BULKHEAD CONNECTOR THE ISSUE INVOLVES A BATTERY CABLE BOLT CONNECTION IN THE TRUNK. SPECIFICALLY, THIS BOLT CONNECTION IS SECURED TO THE TRUNK FLOOR PANEL BY AN INSULATED BULKHEAD CONNECTOR. THE INSULATED BULKHEAD CONNECTOR MAY HAVE BEEN INCORRECTLY ATTACHED TO THE TRUNK FLOOR PANEL. OVER TIME, THIS CAN LEAD TO A LOOSENING OF THE BOLT CONNECTION AND CAUSE AN OVERHEATING CONDITION - EXACTLY SAME THING HAPPEND TO ME

THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BOOSTER VACUUM WAS TURNED AT THE VACUUM PUMP CAUSING THE BRAKE PUMP TO LEAK OIL AND CONTAMINATE THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.

I BOUGHT 2006 BMW 530XI ABOUT A YEAR AGO FROM A USED DEALERSHIP, THE CAR WAS RUNNING PERFECT A MONTH LATER IN A SUDDEN A I GOT A TRANS MALFUNCTION, I TOOK IT TO BMW DEALERSHIP WHICH CHARGED ME $299 TO CHECK THE TRANSMISSION THEN CAME AND SAID NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT. COUPLE WEEKS LATER THE SAME MESSAGE KEPT COMING BACK AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD ACT UP, FOR EXAMPLE WHEN I AM SLOWING DOWN TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT , THE TRANSMISSION WOULD KICK BACK SO HARD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PRESS THE BRAKE SO HARD TO AVOID HITTING THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME. NOW I TOOK THE CAR AGAIN TO ANOTHER BMW DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE TRANS MALFUNCTION STAYED AND DID NOT GO AWAY WHEN I RESTART THE CAR LIKE IT WAS DOING AND THEY TOLD ME , IT REQUIRES TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT A. BMW ADVERTISES THAT THERE CARS ARE STRONG AND LAST LONGER THAN OTHER CARS, I THINK THEY NEED TO GET SUED FOR PROVIDING FALSE INFORMATION FIR THEIR BAD CARS QUALITY. I HAVE FOUND HUNDREDS OF ONLINE THREADS WANTING TO SUE BMW FOR THE POOR TRANSMISSION ON THEIR CARS. BMW NEED TO HAVE A RECALL FOR BMW FAILED TRANSMISSION

THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,175.
SPEEDOMETER, OTHER ELECTRONIC AND SOUND INDICATORS, AND RADIO RANDOMLY TURN OFF AND ON WHILE DRIVING. AFTER TAKING IT TO SEVERAL AUTO REPAIR SHOPS, A CORRODED COMPUTER COMPONENT UNDER THE SPARE TIRE WAS FOUND TO BE CORRODED DUE TO WATER INTRUSION. REPLACING THE PART MADE THE PROBLEM MOSTLY GO AWAY, BUT OCCASIONALLY GET ENGINE AND COOLANT PROBLEM INDICATORS.
PASSENGER AIRBAG FAULTS HAS SHOWN UP ON MY 2006 BMW 525I. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME IT SHOWS UP. THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG IS DEACTIVATED WITH THIS FAULT AND WILL NOT PROTECT PASSENGER IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. FIRST TIME, I HAD TO FIX IT MYSELF BECAUSE MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE VOLUNTARY RECALL NOTICE SENT BY BMW. NOW IT IS HAPPENING FOR THE 2ND TIME. I HAD IT CHECK AT A SERVICE STATION AND IT IS BECAUSE OF ANOTHER ISSUE IN THE SAME SYSTEM. EACH REPAIR COSTS APPROX. $1000. BMW NORTH AMERICA HAS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE VACUUM PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNAVAILABLE.

THE MICRO POWER MODULE IN THE TRUNK BURNED UP, CRASHING THE SCREEN/AUDIO/SERVICE SCREEN. THE CAR IS DRIVABLE BUT I CANNOT ACCESS ANY FEATURES FROM THE DASH COMPUTER SCREEN, NONE OF IT WORKS. THERE IS A DISTINCT PLASTIC BURNED SMELL IN THE TRUNK. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM...WHEN I CALLED MY BMW CERTIFIED MECHANIC, I BARELY EXPLAINED MY ISSUE AND HIS RESPONSE WAS "LET ME GUESS, YOU HAVE AN '05 OR '06 BMW 5 SERIES, CORRECT? THE MICROPROCESSORS IN THE TRUNK ARE BURNING UP...THEY'VE SINCE MOVED THEM FROM UNDER THE TIRE". MY CAR COULD HAVE BURNED DOWN. CLEARLY BMW KNOWS THEY HAVE A PROBLEM AS THEY HAVE SINCE MOVED THE PROCESSOR. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS COSTLY REPAIR.
