The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V328000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES) and was interfering with other electrical components of the vehicle such as the Navigation Panel rendering it non-responsive, the alarm system from the door latches constantly sounding and not being able to be turned off, causing the battery to drain. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was inspected however the vehicle was not diagnosed as the ECU was unresponsive. The contact was advised that a special technician would have to inspect the ECU, and would need to be repaired first before the dealer could remedy the recall, therefore the recall would not be remedied. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
The contact owns a 2008 BMW 750I. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V328000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages); however, the dealer was unable to repair the recall in a timely manner and the contact had to recover the vehicle from the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the driver's side door was not closing properly and opened independently. The contact stated that the “Door Ajar" chime was audible. The contact stated that the other 3 doors were not closing properly. Additionally, the contact stated that because the doors were not closing securely, the 12V battery was being drained which was leading to other electrical systems failure. The contact stated that the battery was replaced two times within four months. The contact stated that the vehicle was no longer starting due to electrical failures. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
The contact owns a 2008 BMW 760LI. The contact stated that the four doors of the vehicle failed to latch securely when closed. The contact stated that the door handle also failed to return to the original position while closing the doors. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving 20 MPH and making a right turn with his stepdaughter in the rear middle seat, the rear driver's side door opened inadvertently. The contact pulled to the side of the road and closed the door. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer who previously performed the recall repair under NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V328000 (Latches/ Locks/Linkages) at 80,000 miles. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the door handle cables were stretched, and the contact was informed that the failure was not related to the recall. The contact believed that the failure was related to the recall or that the dealer had caused the failure while performing the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.

The contact owns a 2008 BMW 750LI. The contact stated that upon refueling the vehicle, he smelled a strong gas odor. The contact recalled that the same issue had occurred with a BMW vehicle that he previously owned, so he drove the vehicle to his residence and restarted it. The contact exited the vehicle and as he was looking around, he noticed fuel leaking onto the rear driver’s side wheel and onto the floor. There were no warning lights illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that his vehicle was not included in a recall. The dealer advised the contact to take the vehicle in for diagnosis; however, the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel pump was fractured and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 112,000.
My car one day just turned on all lights inside including emergency break and the engine started smoking out....

THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BMW OF HOUSTON NORTH LOCATED AT 17730 NORTH FWY, HOUSTON, TX 77090, HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 184,000.

GETTING ERROR "FAULT IN PASS.-RESTRAINT SYSTEM AFFECTING AIRBAG, BELT TENSIONER OR BELT-FORCE LIMITER. FASTEN AND CONTINUE TO WEAR BELTS. PLEASE CONTACT THE NEAREST BMW CENTER." IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM FIXED ON 06 07 BMW 750LI BY RECALL WHAT MAKES 08 DIFFERENT?
I DROPPED OFF MY 2008 BMW 750 LI ON OCTOBER 11, 2018 TO THE CONCORD BMW DEALER FOR THE DOOR LATCH RECALL. RECALL # 17V-328. I HAD MENTIONED TO THE SERVICE WRITER THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR AND DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR NOT CLOSE COMPLETELY SOMETIMES. AND OCCASIONALLY BECOME HALF CLOSED AND DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT ON WHILE DRIVING. THE SERVICE WRITER SAID HE WILL CHECK ALL 4 DOORS FOR THIS RECALL. WHEN I PICK UP THE VEHICLE ON OCTOBER 12, 2018, I DISCOVERED THAT THE 2 DOOR LATCHES THAT STILL NOT WORK PROPERLY. I TALKED TO THE SERVICE WRITER REGARDING THE DOOR LATCHES STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM PRIOR TO LEAVING. HE EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THE RECALL IS ONLY FOR REPROGRAM THE DEFECTIVE CODE AND IT DOES NOT COVER THE DOOR LATCH NOT WORK REPAIR. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THE REPROGRAM IS A SOLE REMEDY FOR THIS SAFETY RECALL. ENCLOSED PLEASE FIND A COPY OF THE CONCORD BMW DEALER'S INVOICE # 888479 DATED OCTOBER 12, 2018. A WARNING LIGHT IS ON IN THE DASH SAYING DEFAULT AIRBAG. WHAT I NEED TO KNOW IS THIS SOME BMW IS RESPONSIBLE FOR?
FAULT 97E0 - FRONT PASSENGER OC3 OCCUPANCY DETECTION MAT DEFECTIVE. THIS IS THE SECOND SUCH FAILURE IN THIS VEHICLE. THE FIRST OCCURRED THE YEAR PRIOR IN THE DRIVER-SIDE MAT WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 75,000 MILES. AT A NORMAL MILEAGE USAGE OF 15,000 PER YEAR, THE FIRST FAILURE WOULD HAVE OCCURRED AFTER 5 YEARS OF SERVICE. THE PASSENGER SEAT IS USED LESS THAN 20% OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT. ON A PRO-RATA BASIS, THE PASSENGER SEAT MAT FAILED IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS OF EQUIVALENT USE. WE HAVE NOT HAD THE REPAIR DONE FOR 2 REASONS: 1) THE REPAIR RANGES IN COST BETWEEN $1,700 - $2,700 AS COMPARED TO THE DRIVER'S SEAT REPAIR THAT COST $700, AND 2) THE REPAIR REQUIRES THE REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE PASSENGER SEAT COVER (THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOESN'T), WHICH DISFIGURES THE INTERIOR UPHOLSTERY AESTHETICS. THIS FAILURE OCCURS IN ALMOST EVERY BMW MODEL IN YEARS BOTH PRIOR AND AFTER 2008, WITH SEVERAL YEARS GAINING RECALL STATUS. THIS IS UNDERSTANDABLE SINCE THE MAT MANUFACTURER MOST LIKELY PROVIDED SEAT MATS TO ALL OF BMW'S VEHICLE LINEUP. THE MAT FAILURE WAS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT FROM THE OUTSET AND SHOULD BE COVERED BY BMW.
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A UPWARD INCLINE THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE TO ACCELERATE AND THE TRANSMISSION FAULT LIGHT WOULD COME ON. I WOULD STOP THE VEHICLE AND RESTART THE ENGINE. IT WOULD ONLY HAPPEN AND I STARTED TO DRIVE ON A UPWARD INCLINE. NOW THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION DEFAULT LIGHT REMAINS ON.
I WAS DRIVING AND OUT OF NOWHERE, MY CAR STARTED TO SLOW DOWN, AND I RECEIVED AN WARNING LIGHT ON MY DASH TELLING ME I WAS HAVING A "TRANSMISSION FAILURE AND DRIVE MODERATELY". I ONLY HAVE 88,900 MILES ON THE CAR. THIS SEEMS TO BE A MANUFACTURING ISSUE ON 750 SERIES MODELS FROM 2005-2008. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS, AS IT'S COSTLY AND VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITH.

AFTER DROPPING MY DAUGHTER (WHO WAS SITTING IN THE REAR SEAT OF MY CAR) TO HER SCHOOL IN THE MORNING, I WAS DRIVING TO WORK. I CONFIRMED THAT ALL THE DOORS WERE CLOSED AND LATCHED AFTER SHE EXITED THE CAR. JUST BEFORE REACHING MY WORK LOCATION, THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR UNEXPECTEDLY OPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. AFTER STOPPING, THE OPEN DOOR COULD NOT BE CLOSED OR LATCHED AGAIN. I CALLED BMW USA ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND THEY TOLD ME THERE IS AN ACTIVE RECALL ON MY CAR (US NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID - 17V328000) AND I SHOULD TAKE MY CAR TO DEALER TO FIX. I HAD TO TAPE THE DOOR SHUT AND TAKE THE CAR TO DEALER TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I CANNOT IMAGINE WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THE DOOR HAD OPENED WHILE IN MOTION WHEN MY DAUGHTER WAS SITTING IN THE REAR SEAT. THE EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN VERY SCARY.

IT HAS BEEN SINCE MAY 2017 THAT BMW ISSUED A RECALL WITHOUT ANY REMEDY AS OF 12/2017. I FEEL I AM ENTITLED TO A BUY-BACK AS THEY STILL HAVE NOT REMEDIED THIS ISSUE

DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK OR CLOSE FORCING ME TO DRIVE TO A SAFE PLACE TO STOP AND LEFT ME STRANDED DUE TO ME NOT BEING ABLE TO RESUME DRIVING. DOOR IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CLOSE AND VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF.
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE. THE SUCTION MECHANISM DOES WORK AND THERE IS NO BACKUP SYSTEM TO ENSURE THE DOOR LATCHES. IT IS A MOST SEVERE SAFETY FLAW. THERE MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS ISSUE ALL OVER THE INTERNET FOR BMW CARS. THIS IS DEFINITELY A RECALL ISSUE AND THE GROSSES OF SAFETY NEGLECT BY THE CAR MANUFACTURER. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY WHEN THIS OCCURRED. THERE IS CURRENTLY NO RECALL FOR THIS SAFETY FLAW WHICH IS JUST COMPLETELY ABSURD. GIVEN THE MANY COMPLAINTS AND THE FACT THAT THIS IS A 2008 VEHICLE.
HEAVY SMOKE FROM EXHAUST WHEN AT IDLE FOR MORE THAT 1 MINUTE. TRANSMISSION SEALS LEAKING
MY VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A HIT RUN AND IT RUIN THE DSC ABS MODULE IT OVERHEATS AND THE ABS DSC EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM LIGHT COME ON.. CANT FINE PROBLEM IN THE DSC MODULE
THE "TRANSMISSION FAULT DRIVE MODERATELY, DRIVE TO THE NEAREST BMW DEALERSHIP" IS THE MESSAGE THAT I GOT WHEN I WAS DRIVING ONE DAY A FEW WEEKS AGO, I HAVE 77,000 MILES AND I HAD JUST HAD A TUNE UP. OF COURSE I TOOK THE CARE TO BMW IMMEDIATELY AND FOUND OUT THAT THE POWER TRAIN WAS BAD? THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED TO THE TUNE OF $7000, I KNEW THERE WERE SOME ENGINE PROBLEMS WITH SOME OF THE BMW YEARS BUT I DIDN'T THINK 2008 SHOULD'VE HAD ANY PROBLEMS AS FAR AS THE TRANSMISSION GOING OUT AT 77,000?

MY DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AT TIMES DOESN'T CLOSE, WHEN IT FIRST OCCURRED, I THOUGHT THAT MAYBE SOMETHING WAS BLOCKING THE DOOR PREVENTING IT FROM CLOSING BECAUSE IT SEEMED TO BOUNCE BACK OPEN, I TRIED TO CLOSE IT AGAIN, I WAS EXITING MY CAR AND AGAIN IT WOULDN'T CLOSE AND BOUNCED BACK OPEN. I JIGGLED THE DOOR HANDLE AND ON THE THIRD ATTEMPT THE DOOR CLOSED. I DIDN'T THINK MUCH ABOUT IT UNTIL IT HAPPENED AGAIN WHEN I HAD EXITED MY CAR AND THE DOOR BOUNCED BACK OPEN. I DIDN'T JIGGLE THE HANDLE THIS TIME BUT ATTEMPTED TO SHUT IT AGAIN, AND IT WASN'T UNTIL THE THIRD TIME THAT I TRIED TO SHUT IT AGAIN THAT IT FINALLY CLOSED. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWO MORE TIMES AND BY THE THIRD TIME, I STARTED GOOGLING DOOR PROBLEMS IN 750LI AND SAW THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR 2005 - 2007 FOR THE "SOFT CLOSE" FUNCTION MALFUNCTIONING? THIS IS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM THAT IS OCCURRING WITH MY 2008 750 LI, WHY WASN'T 2008 INCLUDED IN THE RECALL? I HAD MY CAR INTO THE BMW DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULDN'T REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM BUT I KNOW THAT IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE CAR DOOR?

CAR STARTED, COLD START; SYMPTOM WAS CHECK-ENGINE LIGHT POPPED ON; REDUCED DRIVING POWER; CAR VIBRATION; IDRIVE MESSAGE "?TRANSMISSION FAILURE; P, N, R, 3, 5, 6 ; DRIVE MODERATELY TO NEAREST BMW DEALER ! PUT ON HAZARD LIGHT, DROVE HOME 1 MILE AWAY CAR VIBRATION SOUND NOTICEABLE. VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS TO HAVE VEHICLE FAILURE ABRUPTLY WITH NO RESOLUTION OR WARNING?. MY 2008 BMW 750LI WITH 57,000 MILES STARTED NEXT DAY WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED FOR A FEW HOURS THEN OFF. THIS VEHICLE IS GARAGED WELL MAINTAINED NOT TO MENTION CALIFORNIA GOOD WEATHER CONDITIONS. THIS NOW HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN TWO MONTHS. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED. I AM AFRAID TO TAKE THIS BMW VEHICLE TOO FAR OF DISTANCE OR ON HIGHWAYS DUE TO TRANSMISSION FAILURE INCIDENTS. MAJOR DEFECT.! VEHICLE BECOMES RESISTANT TO DRIVE WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I ALMOST GOT IN A MAJOR COLLISION DUE TO THIS MECHANICAL DEFECT PROBLEM. SHOULD I BE KILLED OR INJURED BY AN UNFORESEEN ACCIDENT DO TO THIS WOULD BE TRAGIC!

THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE SHUT. THIS STARTING OCCURRING INTERMITTENTLY IN EARLY MAY 2016 AND TOOK SEVERAL ATTEMPTS OF LIFTING THE DOOR HANDLE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE SOFT LOCK WOULD TAKE. TODAY 22 MAY 2016, THE DOOR FAILED TO CLOSE AND LOCK AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS AND EXTENSIVELY EXERCISING THE DOOR HANDLES FROM BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. FORTUNATELY THE CAR WAS NOT IN MOTION DURING THE MANY TIMES THE PROBLEM OCCURRED, BUT IT SHOULD BE OBVIOUS THAT THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE DRIVEN SAFELY IF THE DOOR DOES NOT CLOSE. IN READING UP AND EDUCATING MYSELF ON THIS DEFECT, THIS APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE IN THE PREVIOUS YEAR OF THIS SAME MODEL BUT FOR WHATEVER REASON, THE RECALL WAS NOT EXTEND TO THE 2008. I LOVE THE BMW 7 SERIES PARTICULARLY THIS 750, BUT I WILL HAVE TO END MY 12 YEAR MARRIAGE OF OWNING BMW'S IF THEY CHOOSE NOT TO REMEDY THIS DEFECT IN THE 2008.
TAKATA RECALL.I WAS INVOLVED IN A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT WHICH 100% OF FAULT WAS ASSUMED BY THE HITTERS INSURANCE FIRM. THE OTHER DRIVER RAN THROUGH A REDLIGHT, AT INTERSECTION OF LEGACY AND HEDGCOXE IN IN PLANO, TX ROUND 6:40 PM.THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY PROPERLY TO PROTECT ME. THE AIRBAG ATTEMPTED TO DEPLOY MERE INCHES AND EXPLODED IN MY FACE CAUSING HOT AIR AND METAL TO BE RELEASED AND BLOWN INTO MY FACE AN EYES,THE FIREMAN ON SCENE HELPED ME OUT OF CAR AND STATED THAT AIRBAG AND SEAT BELT DID NOT PROTECT YOU BECAUSE YOUR INJURY IS APPARENT. SUBSEQUENTLY FOLLOWING SURGERY, MY LEFT FOREARM WAS REPAIRED WITH PERNMANT SCREWS AND PLATE HOLDING MY BONES TOGETHER. I SUFFERED NECK, BACK BILATERAL KNEES, AND TWO FRACTURES IN MY ANKLE. MY LEFT HAND HAS EXTENSIVE PAINFUL NUMBNESS AND SHOOTING PAINS ONE YEAR AFTER SURGERY. I AM STILL GRAPPLING WITH LIMITATIONS AND DISABILITIES TO THIS DAY. I AM A TOTALLY DIFFERENT MAN TODAY AFTER THIS ACCIDENT AND MY DOCTORS CONCUR, THIS IS A MEDICAL CONDITION THAT IS OF CHRONIC DURATION.I HAVE ALL OF MY DOCUMENTATION INCLUDING POLICE REPORT,HOSPITAL BILLS PICTURES OF BOTH CARS, INSURANCE DOCUMENTS. ..
