I'VE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE TWO RECALLS DONE AT MY NEAREST BMW DEALERSHIP (GLOBAL IMPORTS BMW IN MARIETTA, GA.), BUT THEY REFUSE TO SCHEDULE ME. THE TWO RECALLS ARE: NHTSA 17V605 AND NHTSA 17V683

I RECIEVED A RECALL FOR PVC VALVE HEATER LAST YEAR DEC 2017 UNTIL NOW APRIL 20 2018 MY CAR IS NOT FIX AND I GET OVERHEAT WHEN MY CAR IS STUCK ON TRAFFIC.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BMW X3. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 17V683000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING), 17V605000 (AIR BAGS), AND 16V071000 (AIR BAGS). WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL BURNING ODOR OF PLASTIC EMERGING FROM THE VENTS. ADDITIONALLY, SMOKE ENTERED THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE VENTILATION SYSTEM WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS ACTIVATED AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT SHE MUST SHIP THE VEHICLE TO HONOLULU, HI TO AN AUTHORIZED BMW DEALER AT HER EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER FURTHER STATED THAT SHE WOULD BE REIMBURSED WHEN THE RECALL REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. ADDITIONALLY, THE MANUFACTURER CONFIRMED THAT SOME OF THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE .THE CONTACT DECLINED TO SHIP THE VEHICLE TO HONOLULU DUE TO FUNDS NOT BEING AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

ALL FOUR ENGINE MOUNTING BOLTS ARE SHEARED AND COMPLETELY BROKEN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN ANY KIND OF ACCIDENT AND NO OTHER ISSUES I.E. ENGINE TAKEN OUT AND REUSAGE OF BOLTS, ETC. THE ENGINE WAS SITTING ON THE SURROUNDING CHASSIS. THIS CAUSED THE ENGINE HEAD TO CRACK AND OIL LEAKING ONTO THE EXHAUST
2007 BMW X3. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE STALLING WHEN TRAVELING AT LOW SPEEDS. *LD *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 BMW X3. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FIRE STARTED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THEN SPREAD TO THE ENTIRE VEHICLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED AND WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO GEICO INSURANCE AND IT WAS LATER DETERMINED THAT THE FIRE WAS CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE PCV HEATER VALVE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V683000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). A LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. MY VEHICLE IS UNDER TWO RECALLS: 17V605 17V683 AS RECOMMENDED, I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN TO THE BMW DEALER FOR THE RECALLS. THE DEALER RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO ME STATING THAT THE REMEDY FOR THE RECALL WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. SINCE THAT TIME, I CONTINUE TO RECEIVE RECALL NOTICES FROM BMW FOR THE SAME RECALL NUMBERS. YOUR DATABASE SHOWS THAT FOR BOTH RECALLS: "RECALL INCOMPLETE/REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE". I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE "REMEDY" IS "NOT YET AVAILABLE". CAN YOU TELL ME WHEN BMW PROJECTS A "REMEDY" TO BE AVAILABLE TO CORRECT BOTH RECALLS? IT SEEMS LIKE THE TECHNICAL RESOLUTION OF THESE ISSUES WOULD BE FAIRLY STRAIGHTFORWARD, ALBEIT SOMEWHAT EXPENSIVE, FOR BMW TO PROCESS. I HAVE 3 RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. TWO OF THEM INVOLVE AIR BAGS AND THE THE HEAT VALVE MALFUNCTION THAT COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS. I CONTACTED BMW DEALERSHIP AND THEY MENTIONED THEY DON'T HAVE ANY PARTS FROM BMW TO FIX TWO OF THEM AND HAVE ME ON A WAITING LIST FOR THE THIRD AND WILL CONTACT ME, NO TIME FRAME WAS GIVEN. I CONTACT BMW NORTH AMERICA AND THEY DIRECT ME BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. SO I'M DRIVING A VEHICLE WITH 3 RECALLS AND NO TIME FRAME ON WHEN THESE WILL BE FIXED. I DON'T WANT ANYTHING HAPPENING WHILE I'M IN THE VEHICLE SINCE IT IS A 2007.

THE GEARBOX FEELS LIKE IT'S FAILING TO RESPOND TO THROTTLE INPUTS WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS, IT FAIL TO ENGAGE A LOWER GEAR- DOWNSHIFTS VERY ROUGHLY IN NORMAL DRIVE MODE. THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE LESS THAN A YEAR AGO AND CONTINUED TO TAKE PLACE FROM TIME TO TIME AND IT FEELING LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO FAIL COMPLETELY.
RECALL CAMPAIGN NO. 17V-605: FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPANT DETECTION MAT - NO REMEDY AVAILABLE. CONTACTED BMW ON 12/4/17 WHO ADVISED THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN ONE WILL BE AVAILABLE. ADVISED TO CHECK BACK IN SIX MONTHS. THIS HAS RENDERED MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT UNUSABLE ONCE AGAIN (TAKATA RECALL). THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE TO LEAVE CUSTOMERS IN LIMBO FOR MONTHS AND YEARS IN THE CASE OF TAKATA. I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO USE MY PASSENGER SEAT ON THIS VEHICLE FOR MORE THAN TWO YEARS.

TAKATA RECALL - MY VEHICLE HAS A RECALL AND NO ONE HAS A REMEDY FOR IT. NOT THE DEALER, MANUFACTURER OR TAKATA. THE ISSUE IS THAT I NEED MY CAR AND THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I HAVE RECEIVED DOCUMENTATION FROM TAKATA AND BMW THAT THERE CURRENTLY IS NO REMEDY. MY QUESTION IS SINCE I AM STILL DRIVING MY CAR, IF I WERE IN AN ACCIDENT, IS THE LIABILITY OF MY PASSENGER MY RESPONSIBILITY? I CANNOT LET THE CAR SIT PARKED UNTIL A REMEDY IS AVAILABLE AS THIS WOULD RUIN THE CARS ENGINE. BMW AND TAKATA HAVE NO REMEDY AND HAVE GIVEN NO ETA WHEN ONE WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. BMW WILL NOT GIVE ME A LOANER UNTIL THIS REMEDY IS FIXED. SO FOR NOW I AM WITHOUT A CAR, WHICH IS UNFAIR AS I STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR INSURANCE AND REGISTRATION.

SEP 28, 2017 | RECALL CAMPAIGN NO.17V-605 FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPANT DETECTION MAT DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM THIS SAFETY RECALL INVOLVES THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPANT DETECTION MAT. DEPENDING ON SEAT CONFIGURATION AND VEHICLE GEOMETRY, THE MAT CAN FATIGUE DURING FIELD USAGE DEPENDING ON THE MANNER AND FREQUENCY OF THE FRONT PASSENGER'S ENTRY AND EXIT. SPECIFICALLY, OVER TIME MICRO-CRACKS COULD DEVELOP IN THE SIDE FLANKS OF THE MAT. IF A MICRO-CRACK LEADS TO A BREAK OF A CONDUCTIVE PATH, THE SYSTEM WILL RECOGNIZE A FAILURE. CONSEQUENTLY, THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAGS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE HEAD PROTECTION SYSTEM WILL BE DEACTIVATED. SAFETY RISK IN A CRASH OF SUFFICIENT SEVERITY, THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY. DESCRIPTION OF REPAIR BMW WILL REPLACE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR MAT. FINAL OWNER NOTIFICATION LETTERS ARE BEING MAILED ON A STAGGERED BASIS AS PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE.
" TAKATA RECALL" HEAD BOLTS ARE MISSING, HOWEVER A RECALL FOR THIS SAME ISSUE WAS FOR FOLLOWING YEARS 2010-2014 BUT NOT PRIOR YEARS. TOOK VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED BMW SPECIALIST ONLY TO FIND THAT THIS IS SOMETHING THAT HAPPENING ON REGULAR DUE TO CHEAP PLASTIC PARTS. CALL BMW AND WAS TOLD THESE VIN# WHERE INCLUDE WHICH MAKE NO SENSE THE ISSUE IS THE SAME. THE VEHICLE WAS SHAKING AND LEAKING OIL WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR DIAGNOSIS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BMW X3. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND VARIOUS WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE HAZARD LIGHTS WERE ACTIVATED AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT A BURNING ODOR EMITTED THROUGH THE VENTS. THE CONTACT WAITED FOR A MOMENT, RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CRANKCASE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V683000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
I WAS SOLD A CAR NOT KNOWING IT WAS INCLUDED IN RECALL. I WOULD LIKE TO PROPER STEPS TO RESOLVE THE ISSSUE.

TAKATA RECALL....RECALL ISSUED 2/5/2016 AND BMW SAYS NOT YET READY TO REPLACE. SO FOR 17 MONTHS WE HAVE BEEN DRIVING A VEHICLE WITH AIRBAGS THAT ARE KNOWN TO KILL PEOPLE, AND WE ARE UNABLE TO SELL THE VEHICLE.....ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE THAT IT IS TAKING SO LONG TO FIX A KNOWN AND DEADLY PROBLEM!
TAKATA RECALL. CALLED TO HAVE AN OPTION FOR REPLACEMENT AS I RECEIVED A LETTER THAT MY VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. MY CLOSET BMW SERVICE CENTER IS OVER 200 MILES AWAY. WHEN I CALLED IN TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO HAVE A PART SENT TO MY CITY THEY TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE SHIPMENT AND THE REPAIR. MY ONLY OPTION WAS TO MAKE ARRANGEMENT AND DRIVE MY CAR OVER 400 MILES ROUND TRIP FOR THE REPAIRS. THERE HAS TO BE A BETTER OPTION.

VARIOUS WARNING INDICATORS WERE ILLUMINATED. GERMAIN BMW OF NAPLES (11286 TAMIAMI TRAIL N, NAPLES, FL) DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND DRIVETRAIN WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE WINDSHIELD WIPER PAN WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 69,000. *LN
I CONTACTED MY LOCAL BMW DEALER ( NORTH AMERICA BMW) 6 MONTHES AGO REGARDING THE AIR BAG RECALL , I'VE BEEN TOLD THE PARTS ARE NOT READY AND THEY NEED TO ORDER THEM TO REINSTALL THEM. HOWEVER, I HAVEN'T HEARED FROM THEM UNTIL NOW AND I LEFT COUPLE OF MESSAGES BUT THEY NEVER GOT BACK TO ME.
SINCE THE BEGINNING OF NOVEMBER BMW CONFIRMED ME THAT MY CAR HAS 2 RECALL INVOLVING PCV VALVE AND SEAT OCCUPANT DETECTION MAT. MY CAR IS OVERHEATING AND I CAN SMELL PLASTIC SMELL . THE SMOKE COMES FROM THE HOOD COMPARTMENT WHEN AND I HAVE TO TOW THE CAR TO BMW MINNETONKA. I WAS SO SCARED TO DRIVE VEHICLE IN SUCH CONDITION AND I HAVE TRIED SO MANY TIME TO GET THESE ISSUE RESOLVED OR GET ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION WHICH BMW GAVE ME AUTHORIZATION THROUGH BMW REPAIR CENTER IN MINNEHAHA, MN. BUT UNTIL NO LOANER VEHICLE IS GAVE TO ME NOR MY CAR IS NOT COMPLETELY REPAIRED. I STILL HAVE THE CAR WITH BMW MINNETONKA AND THE SERVICE MANAGER WOULD ASK ME TO TALK TO BMW SERVICES AND WHEN I TALK TO BMW SERVICES THEY ALSO ASK ME TO TALK TO MY SERVICE MANAGER. I NEED HELP TO GET THE ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION. THANKS
TAKATA RECALL TAKATA RECALL DRYER AND REINBOLD BMW, GREENWOOD,IN WILL NOT REPAIR THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG IN MY VEHICLE. THEY WILL GIVE ME NO TIMEFRAME FOR THE REPAIR OF MY VEHICLE. THEY HAVE NOT PROVIDED AN ADEQUATE RESPONSE WHEN ASKED WHY MY VEHICLE HAS A LOWER PRIORITY FOR REPAIR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BMW X3 SAV. AFTER A SEAT WARMER WAS ACTIVATED, THE HEAT GENERATED BECAME SO INTENSE THAT IT BURNED A HOLE IN THE SEAT, AS WELL AS THE CONTACT'S JACKET AND JEANS. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT WAS ALTERED TO THE FAILURE DUE TO A BURNING ODOR. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY A FAULTY HEATING ELEMENT AND THE SEAT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 111,000.
